We continue our study of the Letter to the Hebrews, with the last three paragraphs in the Body section of Chapter 1.2.
If you have been reading these studies since the beginning, you may skip down to the next section to save time. But if you are new to these studies, please continue.
The Letter to the Hebrews was written to a special group of Jews during the time after the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ (30 A.D) until the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D., a span of 40 years.
These Jews had been saved under the Old Covenant through their faith in the coming Messiah and the offering of the required sacrifices for their sins in the Temple in Jerusalem, using the services of the high priests of Aaron.
Before the cross of Christ, a Jew could become a child of God through faith, and have the assurance of Eternal Life using the required animal sacrifices through the priesthood of Aaron and his sons. The Way of Salvation under the Old Covenant was through faith in Jehovah and his coming Messiah through the animal sacrifices in the Temple in Jerusalem.
But, after Christ atoned for all sins on the cross through his Finished Work, never to be repeated, many of these Old Covenant Jews had a big problem: They had no way to connect with Jehovah their God spiritually, because the animal sacrifices were no longer acceptable to Jehovah; but at the same time, they did not yet believe in Jesus as their Messiah!
This was the entire purpose of this letter to the Hebrews: bring these children of God under the Old Covenant to faith in their Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. And at the same time, to warn them that the judgment of God was certain if they refused to repent of their animal sacrifices in the Temple and turn to Christ, once and for all time.
There was a time limit of 40 years for these Jews:
Hebrews 3:7-11: “Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, “Today, if you will hear his voice: harden not your hearts, as in the rebellion, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: when your fathers tested me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. Therefore, I was grieved with that generation; and I said, ‘They always go astray in their heart; and they have not known my ways.’ So I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter into my rest.’”
Just as the children of Israel did not believe the promises of God about the land of Canaan and decided to go back to Egypt, and they were condemned to wander for 40 years in the desert until they died: so these Jews also had 40 years: from 30 A.D. when Jesus atoned for all sins on the cross and rose from the dead, until 70 A.D., when the Roman army finally came and destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple, which resulted in the deaths of over 1 million Jews.
So in Hebrews, we are reading a letter whose audience has already died, and does not apply to us today DIRECTLY; however, the letter is rich in spiritual truth for both Jews and Gentiles and wonderful lessons that we can apply to ourselves today.
This is NOT the message of the letter to the Romans, which is all about salvation (for both Jews and Gentiles today) under the New Covenant: “from saving faith to mature faith...” Romans 1:17.
I’m going to keep repeating this in every lesson of Hebrews, because the Bible study is reaching many new people who missed the earlier studies; and it is very helpful as well to remind us of the context of what we are reading.
Now, let’s take a closer look at Chapter 1.2 with the last three paragraphs in the Body section.
§Complement Body: Melchizedek received tithes from Abraham and Levi, so his Priesthood was superior to the priesthood of Aaron (5:11 - 7:17)
¶Opposite These Jews were immature believers who needed to move from animal sacrifices to the Finished Work of Christ (5:11 - 6:8)
¶Opposite The unconditional oath of God to Abraham gives us strong consolation to us, who have fled for refuge to Christ (6:9 - 20)
¶Complement Melchizedek was the priest of the most High God: the king of righteousness, and the king of peace (7:1 - 3)
¶Complement Melchizedek was so great that even Abraham paid tithes to him, and Levi implicitly did also (7:4 - 10)
¶Unique The Law of Moses has been changed to transfer the office of the High Priesthood from Aaron to Jesus Christ (7:11 - 17)
Can you see the Golden Ratio design of two opposites, two complements, and one unique in the themes of each paragraph?
¶Complement Melchizedek was the priest of the most High God: the king of righteousness, and the king of peace (7:1 - 3)
Unique For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, was priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings; and blessed him (to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all);
Complement first, being by interpretation, King of righteousness;
Complement and after that also King of Salem, which means, “King of peace”:
Opposite without father, without mother, without lineage, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life;
Opposite but made like the Son of God, remaining a priest into perpetuity.
Comments: Who was Melchizedek? There are at least two major theories, but I will present only one, because I believe it is the correct one, and also because I don’t have space in this study to do a full comparison between the theories. Let’s get right to the point.
I believe that Melchizedek was Shem, one of the sons of Noah:
Genesis 5:32: “And Noah was five hundred years old; and Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth.”
This theory agrees with Jewish tradition, which identifies Melchizedek as Shem; all by itself, that is very strong evidence, although not proof.
I believe that this tradition is correct, because of the following facts:
1) The age of Shem at the time when Abraham met Melchizedek in Genesis 14:17-20 (which is cited in this text in Hebrews) was about 465 years. Also, Abraham was approximately 75 years old. You can easily Google this information. Shem died when he was 600 years old, so he continued living another 135 years after he met Abraham in this text.
According to the Biblical chronology, Shem lived at the same time as Methusaleh, who also had lived at the same time as Adam. So Shem knew a man who knew Adam personally, who was the first man of the human race! Incredible! That kind of knowledge and experience would make Shem a unique man in the human race in Genesis 14:17-20.
Also, Isaac was born when Abraham was 100, and Jacob was born when Abraham was 140, so Shem died just 5 years before Jacob was born, who received the Messianic promises from Isaac his father (Gen 27:28-29). So the Messianic line passed from Shem to Abraham to Isaac to Jacob. Shem, Abraham, and Isaac lived in the same general area for many years, so no doubt they knew each other well.
The Messianic line is more than just genetic: it was a succession of men from Adam until Christ who received the promises of God, especially the promise of a future Messiah through their sons (Matthew 1:1-17).
2) Shem was one of the last people still living at that time who had lived on the other side of the Great Flood; only Japheth and Ham and potentially their wives would be the only people who were still alive, who had lived before the Flood. There is no doubt that this would make them extremely famous and influential among the human population on Earth.
3) Shem was one of those in the Messianic line descending from Adam through the godly line of his sons through Noah. God used Noah to pronounce a special blessing on Shem:
Genesis 9:26-27: “And he said, “Blessed is Jehovah, the God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall live in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.”
Clearly, Noah favored Shem above his two brothers: Japheth and Ham. This was a prophecy of God through Noah; and I believe that God appointed Shem as a priest of the most High God in the area that was later called Jerusalem. But the Bible doesn’t give any clues as to where the name of Melchizedek originated. Shem may have taken the name for himself as a way of showing his devotion to God, or others may have given him that name; we don’t know.
If not Shem, then who? There is no one else in the Biblical history that is a viable candidate. Noah had died about 15 years before the events in Gen 14:17-20 , and Japheth was in Asia somewhere, and Ham was under a curse. The other descendants of Noah were much younger and had been born after the Flood.
Complement first, being by interpretation, King of righteousness;
Complement and after that also King of Salem, which means, “King of peace”:
The terms “King of righteousness” and “King of peace” are terms that belong to Jesus Christ; therefore, Shem/Melchizedek was a type of Christ in the Bible.
The name “Melchizedek” is an old Canaanite name that means “My king is righteousness.”
Opposite without father, without mother, without lineage, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life;
The text is not saying that Melchizedek did not have a father or mother; the text is saying that there is no man named Melchizedek with a Biblical record of a father or mother; which agrees with the next phrase “without lineage” or genealogy; which was a written record of ancestry such as found in 1 Chronicles or Matthew 1:1-16.
The Apostle Paul was using the lack of such a genealogy to paint a picture of Melchizedek as
“having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like the Son of God, remaining a priest into perpetuity.”
The picture that was painted by Paul was not the actual man Melchizedek, who certainly died.
Romans 5:12-14: “Therefore, as by one man, that is, Adam, sin entered into the world, and death through his sin; and so death passed upon all men, because all have sinned. For until the Law was given to Moses, sin was in the world; but sin is not imputed when there is no Law; nevertheless, DEATH REIGNED FROM ADAM TO MOSES, even over them that had not sinned after the likeness of Adam’s transgression, who is the type of him that was to come.”
All who were born of Adam died “from Adam to Moses” which included Melchizedek! Therefore, Melchizedek was only a man, although a famous and godly man, who died at some point. If he was Shem (which I believe is the case), then we know when he died: it was about 135 years after he received tithes from Abraham.
In the final analysis, we cannot be 100% certain of the identity of Melchizedek, because the Bible does not say; however, I believe that the evidence is very strong that Shem was Melchizedek.
¶Complement Melchizedek was so great that even Abraham paid tithes to him, and Levi implicitly did also (7:4 - 10)
Unique Now consider how great this man was, to whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the plunder;
Complement and truly they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a command to take tithes of the people according to the Law (that is, of their brethren), though they come out of the loins of Abraham.
Complement But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes from Abraham; and blessed him that had the promises. And without any contradiction the inferior is blessed by the better.
Opposite And here men that die receive tithes; but there he received them; of whom it is witnessed that he lives.
Opposite And as I may so say, Levi also, who receives tithes now, paid tithes in Abraham then: for he was still in the loins of his father, when Melchizedek met him.
Comments: So Abraham paid tithes to Melchizedek; and the Apostle Paul, under the inspiration by the Holy Spirit, wrote that this was proof that Levi, who was a descendant of Abraham through his grandson Jacob, was inferior to Melchizedek in the matter of the high priesthood of Aaron under the Old Covenant.
Complement But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes from Abraham; and blessed him that had the promises. And without any contradiction the inferior is blessed by the better.
¶Unique The Law of Moses has been changed to transfer the office of the High Priesthood from Aaron to Jesus Christ (7:11 - 17)
Opposite Therefore, if perfection came by the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the Law), what further need was there that another priest should arise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be called according to the order of Aaron?
Opposite For the priesthood being transferred, there is made of necessity a change also of the Law.
Complement For he of whom these things are spoken pertains to another tribe, from which no man has officiated at the altar.
Complement For it is obvious that our Lord arose out of Judah, of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood.
Unique And it is still far more obvious, that another Priest arises according to the likeness of Melchizedek; who is made, not according to the Law of a carnal Commandment, but according to the power of an endless life: for he testifies, “You are a Priest into the Ages according to the order of Melchizedek.”
Comments: The priesthood of Aaron in the tribe of Levi under the Old Covenant could not provide complete forgiveness of sins through animal sacrifices: only a temporary covering for sins.
Sinners before and under the Old Covenant were saved eternally by faith in Jehovah.
Genesis 15:6 “And he believed in Jehovah; and he counted it to him for righteousness.” (Also see Romans 4:3).
The act of offering an animal sacrifice was an act of faith in Jehovah, the God of the Bible, who commanded that a blood sacrifice should be offered to atone for their sins (if sincere); however, it was the faith that saved, and not the animal sacrifice.
Salvation has always been by faith! No one has ever been saved by works, ever; and no one ever will be. It is impossible to be saved by doing some kind of work in exchange for forgiveness of sins, because then how would you ever know whether you had done enough? You could never know that.
And if you were saved by good works, then you would have something to boast about, correct? “Look at all these wonderful things that I’ve done for you, God! You have to let me into Heaven now!” (Puffed up with pride).
Ephesians 2:8-9: “For by grace you have been permanently saved through faith; and that faith is not out of yourselves: it is the gift of God; not of our own works, lest any man should boast.”
God can never accept your good works to save you from sin, because that gives the glory to you, and not to Him.
Matthew 7:21-23: Jesus said, “Not every one that says to me, ‘Lord, Lord’, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but only he that does the will of my Father, who is in Heaven. Many will say to me in that day, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your Name? And in your Name have cast out demons? And in your Name done many wonderful works?’ And then will I profess to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you that work iniquity.’”
But salvation by faith in the Finished Work of Christ gives the glory to God, and Him alone! Amen. Jesus came and gave his Life on the cross to atone for our sins, so all we have to do is to repent of our sins and place our faith completely in his Finished Work on the cross to be saved. Then, Jesus gets all of the glory for our salvation, not us; and that is the way God wants it to be; Amen!
The animal sacrifices in the Tabernacle or in the Temple in Jerusalem were types of the Messiah who would come in the future: Christ, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world (John 1:29). Once the fulfillment of the types of Christ had come and completed the work of salvation on the cross for all sins for all time, there was no more need for the types!
There were many types of Christ in the Bible: Adam, Noah, Shem/Melchizedek, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David. Each one of these types show something different about the Christ who would (and did) come.
Each one of them is important in their own right; but their purpose was fulfilled and they are in the past, because the fulfillment of their types came and died on the cross to atone for all of our sins, was buried for 3 days, and rose up from the dead in a resurrection body that will never die again! Christ is now our all in all!
We do not have temples to any of those types of Christ, because they were only types: not the fulfillment, who is the Lord Jesus Christ. We worship Him and praise only Him, forever and ever and ever! Amen.
Are you ready to meet the Lord Jesus Christ as your Judge? If you have been born again through repentance and faith in the Finished Work of Christ, then you will meet Jesus as your Judge at the Judgment Seat of Christ, who will judge your works and give you a reward based on those works (I Corinthians 3:12-15).
But if you are not born again when your body dies, then you will meet the Lord Jesus Christ as your Judge of your sins, who will then send you into the Lake of Fire to receive a punishment for eternity that is appropriate for your sins.
Why would you want to meet Jesus as the Judge of your sins?? Why? Repent of your sins and trust in Christ TODAY, so that you will be saved and inherit Eternal Life instead of Eternal Damnation!
2 Corinthians 6:2b: “Behold, now is the accepted time! Behold, now is the day of salvation!”
Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who died for your sins on the cross almost 2,000 years ago and rose again from the dead, according to the Scriptures?
If so, then it is easy to be saved, if you are willing to admit that you are a sinner before God, and if you want to receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.
Here is a prayer that you can use to be saved:
“Lord Jesus, I know that I have sinned against YOU. I am no good, and you are righteous! You are my only hope for salvation! I believe that you died on the cross for my sins, you were buried, and you rose again from the dead on the third day. I want you to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart right now. Forgive me for all my sins, and save my soul. In the mighty Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen!”

Así como los hijos de Israel no creyeron en las promesas de Dios acerca de la tierra de Canaán y decidieron regresar a Egipto, y fueron condenados a vagar cuarenta años en el desierto hasta que murieran: así que estos judíos también tenían 40 años: desde el 30 d.C. cuando Jesús expió todos los pecados en la cruz y resucitó de entre los muertos, hasta el 70 d.C., cuando el ejército romano finalmente llegó y destruyó Jerusalén y el Templo, lo que resultó en la muerte de más de 1 millón de judíos.

Comentarios: ¿Quién era Melquisedec? Hay al menos dos teorías principales, pero presentaré solo una, porque creo que es la correcta, y también porque no tengo espacio en este estudio para hacer una comparación completa entre las teorías. Llegemos directamente al grano.)
Yo creo que Melquisedec era Sem, uno de los hijos de Noé:)
Génesis 5:32: “Y Noah tenía quinientos años; y Noé engendró a Sem, Cam y Jafet.”)
Esta teoría está de acuerdo con la tradición judía, que identifica a Melquisedek como Shem; Todo por sí mismo, esa es una evidencia muy fuerte, aunque no es una prueba.)
Creo que esta tradición es correcta, debido a los siguientes hechos:)
1) La edad de Shem en el momento Abraham conoció a Melquisedek en Génesis 14:17-20 (que se cita en este texto en Hebreos) era de aproximadamente 465 años. Además, Abraham tenía aproximadamente 75 años. Puedes buscar fácilmente esta información en Google. Sem murió cuando tenía 600 años, por lo que continuó viviendo otros 135 años después de conocer a Abraham en este texto.)
Según la cronología bíblica, Sem vivió al mismo tiempo que Methusaleh, quien también había vivido al mismo tiempo que Adam. Entonces Sem conoció a un hombre que conoció a Adán personalmente, ¡quien fue el primer hombre de la raza humana! Increíble. Ese tipo de conocimiento y experiencia harían de Sem un hombre único en la raza humana en Génesis 14:17-20.)
Además, Isaac nació cuando Abraham tenía 100 años, y Jacob nació cuando Abraham tenía 140 años, así que Sem murió solo 5 años antes de que naciera Jacob, quien recibió las promesas mesiánicas de Isaac su padre (Gen 27:28-29). Así que la línea mesiánica pasó de Sem a Abraham a Isaac a Jacob. Sem, Abraham e Isaac vivieron en la misma área general durante muchos años, por lo que sin duda se conocían bien.)
La línea mesiánica es más que genética: fue una sucesión de hombres desde Adán hasta Cristo que recibieron las promesas de Dios, especialmente la promesa de un futuro Mesías a través de sus hijos (Mateo 1:1-17).)
2) Sem fue una de las últimas personas que aún vivían en ese momento que había vivido al otro lado del Gran Diluvio; solo Jafet y Cam y potencialmente sus esposas serían las únicas personas que todavía estarían vivas, que habían vivido antes del Diluvio. No hay duda de que esto los haría extremadamente famosos e influyentes entre la población humana de la Tierra.)
3) Sem era uno de los de la línea mesiánica que descendía de Adán a través de la línea piadosa de sus hijos a través de Noé. Dios usó a Noé para pronunciar una bendición especial sobre Sem:)
Génesis 9:26-27: “Y él dijo, “Dijo más, “Bendito sea Jehová, el Dios de Sem; y Canaán será su siervo. Dios ensanchará a Jafet, y él habitará en las tiendas de Sem; y Canaán será su siervo.”)
Claramente, Noé favoreció a Sem por encima de sus dos hermanos: Jafet y Cam. Esta fue una profecía de Dios a través de Noé; y creo que Dios puso a Sem como sacerdote del Dios Altísimo en el área que más tarde se llamaría Jerusalén. Pero la Biblia no da ninguna pista sobre dónde se originó el nombre de Melquisedec. Sem pudo haber tomado el nombre para sí mismo como una forma de mostrar su devoción a Dios, u otros pudieron haberle dado ese nombre; no sabemos.)
Si no es Sem, ¿entonces quién? No hay nadie más en la historia bíblica que sea un candidato viable. Noé había muerto unos 15 años antes de los eventos de Génesis 14:17-20, y Jafet estaba en algún lugar de Asia, y Cam estaba bajo una maldición. Los otros descendientes de Noé eran mucho más jóvenes y habían nacido después del Diluvio.)

Los términos “Rey de justicia” y “Rey de paz” son términos que pertenecen a Jesucristo; por lo tanto, Sem/Melquisedec era un tipo de Cristo en la Biblia.)

El texto ni está diciendo que Melquisedec no tuvo padre o madre; el texto dice que no hay ningún hombre llamado Melquisedec con un registro bíblico de padre o madre; lo cual concuerda con la siguiente frase “sin linaje” o genealogía; que era un registro escrito de ascendencia tal como se encuentra en 1 Crónicas o Mateo 1:1-16.)
El Apóstol Pablo estaba usando la falta de tal genealogía para pintar un cuadro de Melquisedec como)
“teniendo ni principio de días, ni fin de vida; sino hecho semejante al Hijo de Dios, permaneciendo sacerdote en la perpetuidad.” )
El cuadro que pintó Pablo no era el hombre real Melquisedec, quien ciertamente murió.)
Romanos 5:12-14: “Por lo tanto, como por uno hombre, es decir, Adán, el pecado entró en el mundo y la muerte a través de su pecado; y así la muerte pasó sobre a todos los hombres, porque todos pecaron. Porque hasta que la Ley fuera dada a Moisés, el pecado estaba en el mundo; pero el pecado no es imputado cuando no hay Ley; sin embargo, reinó la muerte desde Adán hasta Moisés, incluso sobre los que no habían pecado, conforme a la semejanza de la transgresión de Adán, quién es el tipo de él quien había de venir.”)
¡Todos los que nacieron de Adán murieron “desde Adán hasta Moisés” que incluía a Melquisedec! Por lo tanto, Melquisedec fue solo un hombre, aunque un hombre famoso y piadoso, que murió en algún momento. Si él era Sem (que creo que es el caso), entonces sabemos cuándo murió: fue alrededor de 135 años después de que recibió los diezmos de Abraham.)
En el análisis final, no podemos estar 100% seguros de la identidad de Melquisedec, porque la Biblia no dice; sin embargo, creo que la evidencia es muy fuerte de que Sem era Melquisedec.)

El complemento Pero él cuya descendencia no se cuenta entre ellos recibió los diezmos de Abraham; y él bendijo a él que tenía las promesas. Y sin contradicción alguna, el inferior es bendecido por el mejor.)
Lo opuesto Y aquí los hombres que mueren reciben diezmos; pero allí él los recibió; de quien se da testimonio de que vive.)
Lo opuesto Y por decirlo así, también Leví, que recibe los diezmos, pagó diezmos en Abraham: porque aún estaba en los lomos de su padre cuando Melquisedec le salió al encuentro.)
Comentarios: Entonces Abraham pagó diezmos a Melquisedec; y el Apóstol Pablo (bajo la inspiración del Espíritu Santo) escribió que esto era prueba de que Leví (quien era descendiente de Abraham a través de su nieto Jacob) era inferior a Melquisedec en el asunto del sumo sacerdocio de Aarón bajo el Antiguo Pacto.)

Lo opuesto Para el sacerdocio siendo transferido, se hace necesario un cambio también de la Ley.)
--El complemento Porque aquel de quien se dicen estas cosas pertenece a otra tribu, desde la cual ningún hombre ha oficiado en el altar.)
El complemento Porque es obvio que nuestro Señor surgió desde Judá, de cual tribu Moisés nada habló acerca del sacerdocio.)
Único Y es todavía mucho más evidente que surge otro Sacerdote a semejanza de Melquisedec; quien es hecho, no según la ley de un mandamiento carnal, sino según el poder de una vida sin fin: porque él testifica, “Tú eres sacerdote para siempre, según el orden de Melquisedec.”)
Comentarios: El sacerdocio de Aarón en la tribu de Leví bajo el Antiguo Pacto no podía proporcionar el perdón completo de los pecados a través de los sacrificios de animales: solo una cobertura temporal de los pecados.)
Los pecadores antes y bajo el Antiguo Pacto eran salvados eternamente por la fe en Jehová.)
Génesis 15:6 “Y creyó en Jehová; y él contó [su fe] a él por justicia.” (Ve también Romanos 4:3).)
El acto de ofrecer un sacrificio animal era un acto de fe en Jehová, el Dios de la Biblia, quien ordenó que se ofreciera un sacrificio de sangre para expiar sus pecados (si eran sinceros); sin embargo, fue la fe la que salvó, y no el sacrificio de animales.)
¡La salvación siempre ha sido por fe! Nadie jamás ha sido salvo por obras, jamás; y nadie nunca lo será. Es imposible ser salvado haciendo algún tipo de trabajo a cambio del perdón de los pecados, porque entonces, ¿cómo podrías saber si has hecho lo suficiente? Nunca podrías saber eso.)
Y si fueras salvado por buenas obras, entonces tendrías algo de qué jactarte, ¿correcto? “¡Mira todas estas cosas maravillosas que he hecho por ti, Dios! ¡Debes dejarme entrar al cielo ahora!” (Inflado de orgullo).)
Efesios 2:8-9: “Porque por gracia habéis sido salvado permanentemente por medio de la fe, y esta fe no es desde ustedes; es don de Dios; no de obras, para que no nadie se jacte.”)
Dios nunca puede aceptar tus buenas obras para salvarte del pecado, porque eso te da la gloria a ti, y no a Él.)
Mateo 7:21-23: Jesús dijo, “No todo el que me dice, ‘Señor, Señor’, entrará en el Reino del Cielo; sino solo el que hace la voluntad de mi Padre quien está en el Cielo. Muchos me dirán en aquel día, ‘Señor, Señor, ¿no profetizamos en tu Nombre, y en tu Nombre echamos fuera demonios, y en tu Nombre hicimos muchos milagros?’ Y entonces yo profesaré a ellos, ‘Nunca os conocí; apartaos de mí, obradores de maldad.’”)
¡Pero la salvación por la fe en la Obra Terminada de Cristo da la gloria a Dios, y sólo a Él! Amén. Jesús vino y dio su vida en la cruz para expiar nuestros pecados, así que todo lo que tenemos que hacer es arrepentirnos de nuestros pecados y poner nuestra fe completamente en su Obra terminada en la cruz para ser salvados. Entonces, Jesús recibe toda la gloria por nuestra salvación, no nosotros; y así es como Dios quiere que sea; ¡Amén!)
Los sacrificios de animales en el Tabernáculo o en el Templo de Jerusalén eran tipos del Mesías que vendría en el futuro: Cristo, el Cordero de Dios que quita el pecado del mundo. (Juan 1:29). Una vez que vino el cumplimiento de los tipos de Cristo y completó la obra de salvación en la cruz por todos los pecados para todos los tiempos, ¡ya no había necesidad de los tipos!)
Había muchos tipos de Cristo en la Biblia: Adán, Noé, Sem/Melquisedec, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob y David. Cada uno de estos tipos muestra algo diferente sobre el Cristo que vendría (y él lo hizo).)
Cada uno de ellos es importante por derecho propio; pero su propósito se cumplió y están en el pasado, porque el cumplimiento de sus tipos vino y él murió en la cruz para expiar todos nuestros pecados, él fue enterrado durante 3 días y resucitó de entre los muertos en un cuerpo de resurrección que nunca volverá a morir. ¡Cristo es ahora nuestro todo en todo!)
No tenemos templos para ninguno de esos tipos de Cristo, porque eran solos tipos: no el cumplimiento que es el Señor Jesucristo. ¡Le adoramos y alabamos solo a Él, por los siglos de los siglos! Amén.
¿Estás listo para encontrarte con el Señor Jesucristo como tu Juez? Si ha nacido de nuevo a través del arrepentimiento y la fe en la Obra terminada de Cristo, entonces conocerás a Jesús como su juez en el tribunal de Cristo, quien juzgará sus obras y le dará una recompensa basada en esas obras. (I Corintios 3:12-15).
Pero si no naciste de nuevo cuando tu cuerpo muera, entonces encontrarás al Señor Jesucristo como tu Juez de tus pecados, quien luego te enviará al Lago de Fuego para recibir un castigo por la eternidad que es apropiada para tus pecados.
¿Por qué querrías encontrarte con Jesús como el Juez de tus pecados? ¿Por qué? ¡Arrepiéntete de tus pecados y confía en Cristo HOY, para que seas salvado y heredes la Vida Eterna en lugar de la Condenación Eterna!
2 Corintios 6:2b: “¡He aquí, ahora es el tiempo aceptado! ¡He aquí, ahora es el día de salvación!”
¿Crees que Jesucristo es el Hijo de Dios, que murió por tus pecados en la cruz hace casi 2000 años y resucitó de entre los muertos, según las Escrituras?
Si es así, entonces es fácil ser salvado, si está dispuesto a admitir que es un pecador ante Dios, y si desea recibir a Jesucristo como su Salvador personal.
Aquí hay una oración que puedes usar para ser salvado:
“Señor Jesús, sé que he pecado contra TI. ¡No soy bueno y tú eres justo! Creo que moriste en la cruz por mis pecados, fuiste enterrado y resucitaste de entre los muertos al tercer día. Quiero que vengas a mi vida y seas mi Señor y Salvador. Por favor entra en mi corazón ahora mismo. Perdóname por todos mis pecados y salva mi alma. En el poderoso Nombre de Jesús, oro, ¡Amén!”
