Romans, Chapter 2.5: The sanctification of believers through the Assembly of Jesus Christ (12:1 - 16:27)

Introduction

This entire chapter is a basic manual of Christian doctrine for born again believers in Jesus Christ, to teach them how to be sanctified spiritual, and to grow up and mature in their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

It does NOT apply to anyone who is not born again! Roman Catholics, Protestants, Charismatics, Baptists, Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Bahai, Shinto, atheists, agnostics: Anyone who has never repented of their sins and received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior to be born again: you are an illegal alien to the Kingdom of God!

You do not know Jesus at all and He does not know you as his child: He is a mystery to you, and always will be until you realize that you are lost and going to Hell. Then, and only then, will there be hope for you to be saved.

John 3:5-7: “Jesus answered, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a man is born of water and also of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said to you, ‘You must be born from above [or, again].’”

1 Corinthians 1:18-19: “for the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but to us who are saved it is the power of God: for it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”

Matthew 7:21-23: “Not every one that says to me, ‘Lord, Lord’, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but only he that does the will of my Father, who is in Heaven. Many will say to me in that day, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your Name? And in your Name, have we not cast out demons? And in your Name, have we not done many wonderful works?’ And then will I profess to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you that work iniquity.’”

So the rest of this study does not apply to you at this time. I urge you to read the invitation to trust Jesus Christ as your Savior at the end of this study.

¶Opposite Live for the future and not in the past (13:8 - 14)

Opposite “Do not owe anything to anyone;

Opposite “except to love one another: for he that selflessly loves another has fulfilled the Law: for it is written: “You shall not commit adultery; you shall not murder; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness; you shall not covet”; and if there is any other Commandment, it is summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Love does no evil to his neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the Law.”

Complement “And this: knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now our deliverance is nearer than when we believed in Christ. The night is far spent, the Day is near; therefore, let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

Complement “Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in partying and drunkenness, not in fornication and licentiousness, not in strife and envying.

Unique “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not make a plan to fulfill the lusts of the flesh.”

The Golden Ratio design of the Bible

Comments: Recall from previous studies that the Golden Ratio design of the Body section (see the outline above) is “OO-CCU”; or, two opposites, two complements, and one unique.

We are studying the second paragraph in this section, so the theme of this paragraph is the opposite of the first; in other words, they have little in common with each other, except that they belong in the same group in the Body section.

The next three paragraphs (by contrast) are focused on controversies that many young believers in Christ have problems with. We will study those next time. And they are closely related to each other: for if believers within the local assembly (or church) are united and understand each other concerning the issues of food and drink, and which days that we should worship together, then they will be able to work together to help missionaries to reach other parts of the world for Jesus Christ and be much more effective in their service for Christ to send the Gospel to their local community.

Do not owe anything to anyone

“Do not owe anything to anyone”

This is a great goal for any person, not just believers, right? To be free of all financial debt is a great thing, and it is something that we should all strive to achieve.

Unfortunately, in our modern age, unless you live in the wilderness and live off the land, you will probably have to borrow money at some time for something, whether that is for a house and property or for a car or something else.

Technically, if I have paid at least the monthly payment that is due each month, then I do not owe anything else for that month. The next month, I will owe the monthly payment that is due again. Do you see my point? As long as I am paying what I owe each month, then I am living up to this command: “Do not owe anything to anyone”.

Now if I fall behind and fail to make the required monthly payment(s), then I am not living up to this command. Does that make sense? So I believe that as long as I am paying my bills on time, then I am living up to this command.

It is best not to have ANY monthly payments! However, if it becomes necessary to borrow money, make sure that you are able to make those monthly payments; and you will not be sinning against God in this area.

Avoid loan sharks! Stay away from high interest loans, because these can get you in very deep trouble, very fast! Amen.

Also, realize that credit cards can be very useful as a temporary tool for making purchases; but if you cannot pay the balance every month, you can get into trouble, because the interest on a credit card can be very high; and if you only make minimum payments, the total debt could increase instead of decrease; and it won’t be long before you will be bankrupt and lose everything!

If you are using credit cards to pay other credit cards, you are already bankrupt: you just don’t know it! Pay down those credit cards as soon as you possibly can! Amen.

Love one another to fulfill five of the Ten Commandments

Romans 13:8b-10: “except to love one another: for he that selflessly loves another has fulfilled the Law: for it is written: “You shall not commit adultery; you shall not murder; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness; you shall not covet”; and if there is any other Commandment, it is summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Love does no evil to his neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the Law.”

If we love one another, we will never do harm or evil to our neighbors or family! Therefore, love is the fulfilling of the Law of Moses. Notice that Paul only cited five of the ten Commandments; and so he was saying that “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” fulfills those five Commandments.

But what about the other five Commandments?

“You shall have no other gods before me; you shall not make any carved images or idols; you shall not take the Name of Jehovah your God in vain; remember the Sabbath day; and honor your father and mother.”

Matthew 22:35-40: “Then one of them, who was a lawyer, asked him, testing him, and saying, “Master, which is the great Commandment in the Law?” Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love [Jehovah] your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind’: this is the first and great Commandment. And the second is similar: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two Commandments.”

In this text, the Lord Jesus cited “You shall love Jehovah your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind”, along with “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” This Commandment covers the other five Commandments of the Ten Commandments.

The first five Commandments are about “vertical relationships”: honoring God and your parents; and the other five in Romans 13:8-9 are about “horizontal relationships”: adultery, murder, theft, lying, and coveting.

The point is that when Paul said that loving your neighbor fulfilled the Law, he was only referring to five of the Ten Commandments. Loving God with all of your heart, your soul, and all your mind fulfills the Law for the other five Commandments.

No one can be saved by keeping the Commandments

But remember that fulfilling the Law can never save your soul! You can love God and love your neighbor and still go to Hell!

Romans 3:19-20: “And we know that whatsoever things the Law says, it says to them who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be shut, and all the world may become guilty before God; therefore, by the works of the Law, no flesh shall be justified in his sight: for by the Law is the knowledge of sin.”

The Ten Commandments can only condemn sinners, because it reveals that we have sinned against God; it cannot make us righteous before God.

In Romans 13, we are talking about born again Christians and the fact that they have a moral obligation to love God and love their neighbor! We are not saying that lost sinners can be saved by loving God and loving their neighbors! No!

Before we can love God, we must KNOW HIM! And we can only know God when we have repented of our sins and received Jesus Christ as our personal Savior! THEN and only then, can we know God, because Jesus is God! Amen.

Otherwise, God is a mystery to sinners; and He is only a vague concept: not a real Person that they know as their Father!

Begin to put off the old life of sin and put on Christ each and every day

Romans 13:11-13: “And this: knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now our deliverance is nearer than when we believed [in Christ]. The night is far spent, the Day is near; therefore, let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in partying and drunkenness, not in fornication and licentiousness, not in strife and envying.”

Colossians 3:8-11: “But now also PUT OFF all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, and filthy communication out of your mouth. Do not lie one to another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him, where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free; but Christ is all, and in all.”

Colossians 3:12-14: “PUT ON therefore (as the Elect of God, holy and beloved) bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, and longsuffering: forbearing one another, and forgiving one another; if any man has a quarrel against any, even as Christ forgave you, so also do you. And above all these things put on selfless love, which is the bond of perfection.”

Ephesians 4:20-24: “But you have not so learned Christ, if it is true that you have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus, that you are to PUT OFF concerning the former behavior the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts. And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that you PUT ON the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” When we have been born again through repentance and faith in the Finished Atonement of Jesus Christ on the cross, we need to start to put off the old life of sin and begin to put on the new Life of holiness and spiritual Light! Amen.

Every day that we live, we are getting closer to our Eternal Home in Heaven! Therefore, we must get ready for that day, because once we are there, we will be there forever! Amen.

The works that we do now will determine our reward in Heaven; and if we have not been serving the Lord Jesus in this life, then our life in Heaven will be that much poorer than it could have been.

1 Corinthians 3:10-15: “According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise architect, I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let every man take heed how he builds upon it: for no man is able to lay a different foundation beside the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. And if any man builds upon this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or stubble: every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the Day of Judgment shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall test every man’s work of what sort it is: if any man’s work remains which he has built on it, he shall receive a reward; if any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire.”

This is NOT “purgatory”! There is no such place as “purgatory”: it was invented by the wicked popes of Rome as a device to raise money from the poor deluded Catholic faithful:

A Catholic dies. The priest goes to his family and says, “Your Catholic loved one is in ‘Purgatory’ where he is suffering for his sins; but if you give me MONEY, then I can say Masses for him and help him to get out of Purgatory faster!” His family gives him money. Later, the priest returns (especially if the family was wealthy): “Your loved one got his arm out of Purgatory; but I need to say more Masses to help him get completely out.” They give him more money. Wash, rinse, and repeat!

Do you understand? Purgatory was invented as a SCAM to raise money so that the popes, cardinals, bishiops, and priests could decorate the Vatican with more gold and silver, and also to enrich themselves. They cared nothing for the suffering of the poor Catholic people! The popes, cardinals, bishops, and priests are all bandits and liars! There is only Heaven and Hell; and once you go to Hell, you can never leave until the Day of Judgment at the Great White throne of Jesus, where you will be cast into the Lake of Fire forever and ever and ever!

Acts 8:20-23: "But Peter said to him, “Your money is going into perdition with you, because you have thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. You have neither part nor lot in this matter: for your heart is not right in the sight of God. Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours; and pray God, if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you: for I perceive that you are in the gall of bitterness, and in the bondage of iniquity.”

Revelation 20:11-15: “And I saw a Great White Throne, and him that sat on it; from whose face the earth and the Heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the Books were opened; and another Book was opened, which is the Book of Life; and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the Books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and Hell delivered up the dead which were in them; and they were judged every man according to their works. And Death and Hell were cast into the Lake of Fire: this is the second death; and whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire.”

The Bema Seat of Jesus Christ for born again believers in Jesus

This is the Bema Seat of Jesus Christ, where we will face our Lord and Savior after our death. Then, the works in this life that we have done will be judged by the Lord Jesus: if they are worthy of praise and helped to bring souls into the Kingdom of God, then they will be gold, silver, and precious stones which will survive the test of fire from God! But if they are wood, hay, and stubble, then they will be burned up and nothing will be left.

I fear that many believers in Jesus Christ will have nothing but their souls in Heaven; and they will have no reward for all that they have done in their lives on the Earth, because they spent their entire life focused only on themselves; and they never considered the will of God for anything. And that will be their state through all of Eternity! Paupers in Heaven! Still blessed to be in Heaven, but not much else! SAD.

Revelation 21:22-27: “And I saw no Temple in it: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its Temple. And the city had no need of the sun; neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God illuminated it, and the Lamb is its light; and the nations of them that are saved shall walk in its light; and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. And its gates shall never be shut by day: for there shall be no night there; and they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it. And there shall never enter into it anything that defiles; neither whatsoever works abomination, or makes a lie; but only they who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”

But if we have done works that helped others to be saved and to enter the Kingdom of God, and if we have not been living a life of hypocrisy (a life of sin at home, and a completely different life in front of others), then our rewards in Heaven will be incredible!

1 Corinthians 6:3: “Do you not know that we shall judge angels?”

Daniel 12:2-3: “And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to Everlasting Life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that are wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness shall shine as the stars forever and ever.”

Malachi 3:16-17: “‘Then they that feared Jehovah spoke often one to another; and Jehovah listened, and heard it; and a Book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared Jehovah, and that thought upon his Name. And they shall be mine,’ says Jehovah of hosts: ‘in that Day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spares his own son that serves him.’”

Conclusion

“But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not make a plan to fulfill the lusts of the flesh.”

Your thoughts every day should be focused on doing the will of God, not making a plan to commit more sins! Because if you are making a plan to commit more sin, that is what you will do! Don’t plan for sin: plan to serve the Lord, and this is what you will do.

1) Read your Bible daily (use the KSB for Bible studies; use your printed Bible for church services)

2) Start your day with repentance from all sin and pray for the power of God on your life to do his will in all things

3) Attend a Bible believing, Gospel preaching church where old fashioned Christian music is played in every service, including the young people: not rock, rap, or other forms of ungodly music. These kind of churches are not easy to find, but they will be a haven of rest for your soul; and a place where you can serve the Lord and grow spiritually from the strong preaching of the Word of God.

Beware of churches where the pastor acts like a king, drives a very expensive car, and lives in an expensive home! This is a sign of a false prophet!

Matthew 20:25-28: “But Jesus called them to himself, and said, “You know that the princes of the Gentiles lord it over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be this way among you; but whosoever wishes to have great authority among you must be your servant; and whosoever wishes to be first among you must be your bondslave. Even as the Son of man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.”

1 Timothy 6:6-10: “But godliness with contentment is great gain: for we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out; and having food and clothing, let us be content with these things. But they that want to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition: for the love of money is the root of all evil; which while some coveted after, they have wandered from the Faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”

In the Bible, the pastor is to be a servant of God like Jesus, not a lord or a king. Flee that church and find a true servant of God who will nourish your soul with the precious Word of God. I only recommend churches that are Fundamentalist, Independent, Baptist, Gospel-preaching, and use only old fashioned music and hymns. Amen.

How to be saved

Exactly how and when were you born again?

I have learned by experience that those who refuse to answer do so because they have never been born again; they have no idea what it means, which is why they cannot answer.

If that is the case with you, then your eternal destination at this moment is Hell; and later, the Lake of Fire.

Thankfully, we can change our eternal destination to Heaven, if we repent of our sins and receive Jesus Christ as our personal Savior.

First, we must believe that Jesus is the Son of God; that He was crucified for our sins, that He was buried and that He rose again from the dead on the third day.

Romans 10:8-11: “But what does it say? “The Word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart”; that is to say, the Word of faith (which we preach), that if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved: for with the heart, man believes into righteousness; and with the mouth, confession is made into salvation: for the Scripture says, “Whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.”

Then, we must repent of our sins and call on the Name of the Lord Jesus to save us.

Romans 10:12-13: “For there is no difference between the Jew and the Gentile: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him: for it is written, “whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.”

John 1:12: “But as many as received him, to them gave he authority to become the children of God: even to them that believe on his Name”

When we do that, then we are instantly born again into the Kingdom of God.

Are you ready to do that? If so, then find a place to pray privately, and pray this prayer with all of your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ:

“Lord Jesus, I know that I have sinned against YOU. I am no good, and you are righteous! You are my only hope for salvation! I believe that you died on the cross for my sins, you were buried, and you rose again from the dead on the third day. I want you to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart right now. Forgive me for all my sins, and save my soul. In the mighty Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen!”

Introducción

No conoces a Jesús en absoluto y Él no te conoce como su hijo: Él es un misterio para ti y siempre lo será hasta que te das cuenta que estas perdido y yendo al infierno. Entonces, y sólo entonces, tendrás esperanza de ser salvado.

Juan 3:5-7: “Respondió Jesús, ‘Verdaderamente, verdaderamente, te digo, que a menos que nazca un hombre de agua y también del Espíritu, no puede entrar en el Reino de Dios; lo que es nacido de la carne, es carne, y lo que es nacido del Espíritu, es espíritu. Y en tu Nombre, ¿no hemos hecho muchas obras maravillosas?’. Y entonces yo profesaré a ellos, ‘Nunca os conocí; apartaos de mí, obradores de maldad’”.

Por lo tanto, el resto de este estudio no se aplica a ti en este momento. Le insto a leer la invitación a confiar en Jesucristo como su Salvador al final de este estudio.

¶Lo opuesto Vive para el futuro y no en el pasado (13:8 - 14)

Lo opuesto “No debáis nada a nadie;

Lo opuesto “excepto amarnos unos a otros: porque él que ama desinteresadamente a otro ha cumplido la Ley: porque está escrito: “No cometerás adulterio”, “No matarás”, “No hurtarás”, “No dirás falso testimonio”, “No codiciarás”; y si hay algún otro Mandamiento, se resume en este dicho, es decir, “Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo”. El amor no hace mal a su vecino; por lo tanto, el amor es el cumplimiento de la ley”.

El complemento “Y esto: conociendo el tiempo, que ahora, ya es hora de despertar del sueño: porque ahora nuestra liberación está más cerca que cuando creímos en Cristo. La noche está avanzada, el día está cerca; por lo tanto, desechemos las obras de las tinieblas, y vistámonos la armadura de la luz.

El complemento “Caminemos honestamente, como en el día; no en la juerga y la borrachera; no en fornicación y libertinaje, no en contiendas y envidia.

Único “Pero vestíos del Señor Jesús Cristo, y no hagáis un plan para satisfacer las concupiscencias de la carne”.

El diseño de la proporción áurea de la Biblia

Comentarios: Recuerde de estudios anteriores que el diseño de la proporción áurea de la sección del cuerpo (ver el esquema anterior) es “OO-CCU”; o dos opuestos, dos complementarios y uno único.

Estamos estudiando el segundo párrafo de esta sección, por lo que el tema de este párrafo es el opuesto al primero; iEn otras palabras, tienen poco en común entre sí, excepto que pertenecen al mismo grupo en la sección Cuerpo.

¶Lo opuesto Sé sujeto a las leyes humanas y a las autoridades gubernamentales (13:1 - 7)

Los siguientes tres párrafos (por el contrario) se centran en controversias con las que muchos jóvenes creyentes en Cristo tienen problemas. Los estudiaremos la próxima vez. Y están estrechamente relacionados entre sí: porque si los creyentes dentro de la asamblea local (o iglesia) están unidos y se entienden entre sí en cuanto a los temas de comida y bebida, y qué días debemos adorar juntos, entonces podrán trabajar juntos para ayudar a los misioneros a alcanzar otras partes del mundo para Jesucristo y ser mucho más eficaces en su servicio a Cristo para enviar el Evangelio a su comunidad local.

¶El complemento Vive y que otros vivan para Cristo sobre asuntos de comida y observancia de un día particular de la semana (14:1 - 13)

¶El complemento No destruyas el Reino de Dios sobre los problemas de comida y bebida (14:14 - 15:7)

No debáis nada a nadie

“No debáis nada a nadie;”

Este es un gran objetivo para cualquier persona, no solo para los creyentes, ¿verdad? Estar libre de toda deuda financiera es algo grandioso y es algo que todos deberíamos esforzarnos por lograr.

Desafortunadamente, en nuestra era moderna, a menos que vivas en el desierto y vivas de la tierra, probablemente tendrás que pedir dinero prestado en algún momento para algo, ya sea para una casa y una propiedad, para un automóvil o algo más.

Técnicamente, si he pagado al menos el pago mensual que vence cada mes, entonces no debo nada más por ese mes. El mes que viene tendré que pagar nuevamente la cuota mensual que vence. ¿Entiendes lo que quiero decir? Mientras pague lo que debo cada mes, estaré cumpliendo este mandamiento: “No debáis nada a nadie”.

Ahora bien, si me atraso y no logro realizar los pagos mensuales requeridos, entonces no estoy cumpliendo este mandato. ¿Tiene sentido? Creo que, siempre que pague mis facturas a tiempo, estoy cumpliendo con este mandato.

¡Lo mejor es no tener NINGÚN pago mensual! Sin embargo, si llegase a ser necesario pedir dinero prestado, asegúrese de poder realizar esos pagos mensuales, para no pecar contra Dios en esta área.

¡Evita a los usureros! ¡Mantente alejado de los préstamos con intereses altos, porque pueden meterte en serios problemas, muy rápido! Amén.

Además, ten en cuenta que las tarjetas de crédito pueden ser muy útiles como herramienta temporal para realizar compras; pero si no puedes pagar el saldo cada mes, puedes meterte en problemas, porque el interés de una tarjeta de crédito puede ser muy alto; y si solo haces los pagos mínimos, la deuda total podría aumentar en lugar de disminuir; ¡y no pasará mucho tiempo antes de que estés en quiebra y pierdas todo!

Si usas tarjetas de crédito para pagar otras tarjetas de crédito, ya estás en bancarrota: ¡pero no lo sabes! ¡Paga esas tarjetas de crédito lo antes que puedas! Amén.

Amaos los unos a los otros para cumplir cinco de los Diez Mandamientos

Romanos 13:8b-10: “excepto amarnos unos a otros: porque él que ama desinteresadamente a otro ha cumplido la Ley: porque está escrito: “No cometerás adulterio”, “No matarás”, “No hurtarás”, “No dirás falso testimonio”, “No codiciarás”; y si hay algún otro Mandamiento, se resume en este dicho, es decir, “Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo”. El amor no hace mal a su vecino; por lo tanto, el amor es el cumplimiento de la ley”.

Si nos amamos unos a otros, ¡nunca dañaremos ni haremos mal a nuestro prójimo ni a nuestra familia! Por tanto, el amor es el cumplimiento de la Ley de Moisés.

Observe que Pablo sólo citó cinco de los diez Mandamientos; y por eso estaba diciendo que “Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo” cumple esos cinco Mandamientos.

¿Pero qué pasa con los otros cinco mandamientos?

“No tendrás dioses ajenos delante de mí; no te harás imagen tallada ni ídolo alguno; no tomarás en vano el nombre de Jehová tu Dios; acuérdate del día de reposo, y honra a tu padre y a tu madre.”

Mateo 22:35-40: “Entonces uno de ellos, quien era abogado, le preguntó, probándole, y diciendo, “Maestro, ¿cuál es el gran Mandamiento en la Ley?”. Jesús le dijo, “‘Amarás a [Jehová] tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente’; éste es el primero y grande Mandamiento. Y el segundo es similar, ‘Amarás a tu prójimo como ti mismo’. Toda la Ley y los Profetas dependen en estos dos Mandamientos”.

En este texto, el Señor Jesús citó “Amarás a Jehová tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente”, junto con “Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo”. Este Mandamiento cubre los otros cinco Mandamientos de los Diez Mandamientos.

Los primeros cinco mandamientos tratan sobre las “relaciones verticales”: honrar a Dios y a tus padres; y los otros cinco en Romanos 13:8-9 tratan de “relaciones horizontales”: adulterio, asesinato, robo, mentira y codicia.

El punto es que cuando Pablo dijo que amar al prójimo cumplía la Ley, sólo se refería a cinco de los Diez Mandamientos. Amar a Dios con todo tu corazón, tu alma y toda tu mente cumple la Ley de los otros cinco Mandamientos.

Nadie puede salvarse guardando los Mandamientos

Pero recuerda que cumplir la Ley nunca podrá salvar tu alma. ¡Puedes amar a Dios y amar a tu prójimo y aun así ir al infierno!

Romanos 3:19-20: “Y sabemos que cualquier cosa que dice la Ley, ello les dice a los que son bajos la Ley, para que cada boca puede estar cerrada, y todo el mundo puede llegar a ser culpable ante Dios; por tanto, por las obras de la Ley ninguna carne será justificada en su vista: porque por la Ley es el conocimiento del pecado”.

Los Diez Mandamientos sólo pueden condenar a los pecadores, porque revelan que hemos pecado contra Dios; no pueden hacernos justos ante Dios..

En Romanos 13, estamos hablando de los cristianos nacidos de nuevo y del hecho de que tienen la obligación moral de amar a Dios y amar a su prójimo. ¡No estamos diciendo que los pecadores perdidos pueden ser salvados amando a Dios y amando a sus vecinos! ¡No!

¡Antes de poder amar a Dios, debemos CONOCERLO! ¡Y sólo podemos conocer a Dios cuando nos hemos arrepentido de nuestros pecados y hemos recibido a Jesucristo como nuestro Salvador personal! ENTONCES y sólo entonces podremos conocer a Dios, porque Jesús es Dios. Amén.

De lo contrario, Dios es un misterio para los pecadores; y Él es sólo un concepto vago: ¡no una Persona real que ellos conocen como su Padre!

Comience a quitar la vida vieja de pecado y vístase de Cristo todos los días

Romanos 13:11-13 “Y esto: conociendo el tiempo, que ahora, ya es hora de despertar del sueño: porque ahora nuestra liberación está más cerca que cuando creímos en Cristo. La noche está avanzada, el día está cerca; por lo tanto, desechemos las obras de las tinieblas, y vistámonos la armadura de la luz. Caminemos honestamente, como en el día; no en la juerga y la borrachera; no en fornicación y libertinaje, no en contiendas y envidia”.

Colosenses 3:8-11: “Pero ahora también, QUITAD todas estas cosas: ira, enojo, malicia, blasfemia, palabras sucias de vuestra boca. No mintáis los unos a los otros, habiéndoos quitado al viejo hombre con sus hechos; y os habéis revestido del nuevo hombre, el cual se va renovando en el conocimiento conforme a la imagen del que le creó, donde no hay griego ni judío, circuncisión ni incircuncisión, bárbaro ni escita, siervo ni libre; sino que Cristo es el todo, y en todos”.

Colosenses 3:12-14: “VESTÍOS, pues (como los escogidos de Dios, santos y amados) las entrañas de misericordia, bondad, humildad de mente, mansedumbre y sufrido; soportándonos los unos a los otros, y perdonándoos unos a otros; si alguno tuviere queja contra otro, de la manera que Cristo os perdonó, así también hacedlo ustedes. Y sobre todas estas cosas, vestíos de amor que es el vínculo de perfección”.

Efesios 4:20-24: “Pero ustedes no habéis aprendido así a Cristo; si es verdad que le habéis oído y habéis sido enseñados por él, como la verdad está en Jesús, que estas para quitar, con referencia al comportamiento anterior, el hombre viejo, cual está corrompido según los deseos engañosos. Y renovaos en el espíritu de vuestra mente, y vestíos del nuevo hombre, que es creado según Dios, en justicia y en santidad verdadera”.

Cuando hemos nacido de nuevo mediante el arrepentimiento y la fe en la Expiación terminada de Jesucristo en la cruz, necesitamos empezar a despojarnos de la vieja vida de pecado y empezar a revestirnos de la nueva Vida de santidad y Luz espiritual. Amén.

¡Cada día que vivimos, estamos más cerca de nuestro Hogar Eterno en el Cielo! Por eso, debemos prepararnos por ese día, porque una vez que estemos allí, ¡estaremos allí para siempre! Amén.

Las obras que hagamos ahora determinarán nuestra recompensa en el Cielo; y si no hemos estado sirviendo al Señor Jesús en esta vida, entonces nuestra vida en el Cielo será mucho más pobre de lo que podría haber sido.

1 Corintios 3:10-15: “Conforme a la gracia de Dios que me ha sido dada, como sabio arquitecto, yo he puesto el fundamento, y otro edifica encima. Pero que cada uno tenga cuidado cómo él construye sobre ello: porque nadie puede poner otro fundamento que el que está puesto, el cual es Jesucristo. Y si alguno edifique sobre este fundamento con oro, plata, piedras preciosas, madera, heno u rastrojo: la obra de todo hombre se hará manifiesta: porque el Día de Juicio la declarará: porque será revelado por fuego; y el fuego probará la obra de cada uno de qué clase es: si el trabajo de cualquier hombre permanece, cual él ha construido sobre ella, él recibirá una recompensa; si el trabajo de cualquier hombre será quemado, sufrirá la pérdida; pero él mismo será salvado; sin embargo, como por fuego”.

¡Esto NO es el “purgatorio”! No existe tal lugar llamado “purgatorio”: fue inventado por los malvados papas de Roma como un mecanismo para recaudar dinero de los pobres fieles católicos engañados:

Un católico muere. El sacerdote va a su familia y les dice: “Su ser querido católico está en el ‘Purgatorio’, donde está sufriendo por sus pecados; pero si ustedes me dais DINERO, entonces puedo decir Misas por él y ayudarlo a salir del Purgatorio más rápido”. Su familia le da dinero. Más tarde, el sacerdote vuelve (sobre todo si la familia era adinerada): “Tu ser querido sacó su brazo del Purgatorio; pero necesito decir más Misas para ayudarlo a salir completamente”. Ellos le dan más dinero. ¡Lava, enjuaga y repite!

¿Entiendes? El Purgatorio fue inventado como una ESTAFA para recaudar dinero para que los papas, cardenales, obispos y sacerdotes pudieran decorar el Vaticano con más oro y plata, y también para enriquecerse. ¡No les importa nada el sufrimiento de los pobres católicos! Los papas, cardenales, obispos y sacerdotes son todos bandidos y mentirosos. Solo existe el Cielo y el Infierno; y una vez que vayas al infierno, nunca podrás salir hasta el Día del Juicio en el Gran Trono Blanco de Jesús, donde serás arrojado al Lago de Fuego por los siglos de los siglos.

Hechos 8:20-23: "Pero Pedro le dijo, “Tu dinero va dentro a destrucción contigo, porque has pensado que el don de Dios se puede comprar con dinero. No tienes ni parte ni lote en este asunto: porque tu corazón no está recto a los ojos de Dios. Arrepiéntete, pues, de esta maldad tuya, y ruega a Dios, si quizás el pensamiento de tu corazón puede ser perdonado a ti: porque percibo que estás en hiel de amargura y en esclavitud de iniquidad”.

La Revelación 20:11-15: “Y vi un Gran Trono Blanco, y él que se sentó en ello; desde cuya cara la tierra y el Cielo huyeron lejos, y no se encontró lugar para ellos. Y vi a los muertos, grandes y pequeños, de pie ante Dios; y los libros fueron abiertos; y otro libro fue abierto, cual es el Libro de la Vida; y los muertos fueron juzgados fuera de esas cosas que estaban escritas en los libros, según sus obras. Y el mar entregó los muertos cual estaban en ello; y la muerte y el Infierno entregaron los muertos que estaban en ellos; y fueron juzgados cada uno según sus obras. Y la Muerte y el Infierno fueron arrojados al Lago de Fuego: esta es la segunda muerte; y quienquiera que no fue hallado escrito en el Libro de la Vida fue arrojado al Lago de Fuego”.

El Asiento Bema de Jesucristo para los creyentes nacidos de nuevo en Jesús

Éste es el Asiento Bema de Jesucristo, donde nosotros (cristianos nacidos de nuevo) nos enfrentaremos a nuestro Señor y Salvador después de nuestra muerte. Entonces, las obras que en esta vida hemos hecho serán juzgadas por el Señor Jesús: si son dignas de alabanza y ayudaron a traer almas al Reino de Dios: si son dignos de alabanza y ayudan a traer almas al Reino de Dios, entonces serán oro, plata y piedras preciosas que sobrevivirán a la prueba del fuego de Dios. Pero si son leña, heno y hojarasca, serán quemados y no quedará nada.

Temo que muchos creyentes en Jesucristo no tendrán nada más que sus almas en el Cielo; y ellos no tendrán recompensa por todo lo que han hecho en sus vidas en la Tierra, porque pasaron todas sus vidas enfocados solo en sí mismos; y nunca consideraron la voluntad de Dios para nada. ¡Y ese será su estado por toda la eternidad! ¡Pobres en el Cielo! ¡Siguen teniendo la bendición de estar en el Cielo, pero no mucho más! ¡TRISTE!

La Revelación 21:22-27: “Y no vi Templo en ella: porque el Señor Dios Todopoderoso y el Cordero son el Templo de ella. Y la ciudad no tenía necesidad de sol ni de luna para que resplandezcan en ella: porque la gloria de Dios la iluminaba, y el Cordero es su luz. Y las naciones de los que hubieren sido salvos andarán en la luz de ella; y los reyes de la tierra traerán su gloria y honor a ella. Y sus puertas nunca serán cerradas por día, porque no habrá noche allí. Y traerán la gloria y la honra de las naciones en a ello. Y no entrará en ella ninguna cosa inmunda, o que hace abominación o mentira; sino sólo aquellos que están escritos en el Libro de la Vida del Cordero”.

Pero si hemos hecho obras que ayudaron a otros a ser salvados y a entrar en el Reino de Dios, y si no hemos vivido una vida de hipocresía (una vida de pecado en casa, y una vida completamente diferente delante de los demás), ¡entonces nuestras recompensas en el Cielo serán increíbles!

1 Corintios 6:3: “¿No sabéis que juzgaremos a los ángeles?”.

Daniel 12:2-3: “Y muchos de los que duermen en el polvo de la tierra serán despertados, unos para Vida Eterna, y otros para vergüenza y confusión perpetua. Y los que son sabios resplandecerán como el resplandor del firmamento; y ellos que giran muchos a la justicia, brillarán como las estrellas por los siglos de los siglos”.

Malachi 3:16-17: “‘Entonces los que temen a Jehová hablaron cada uno a su compañero; y Jehová escuchó y oyó, y fue escrito libro de memoria delante de él para los que temen a Jehová, y para los que piensan en su Nombre. Y serán míos,’ dice Jehová de los ejércitos: ‘en el Día que yo prepare mi especial tesoro; y los perdonaré como un hombre perdona a su hijo que le sirve’”.

Conclusión

“Pero vestíos del Señor Jesús Cristo, y no hagáis un plan para satisfacer las concupiscencias de la carne”.

¡Tus pensamientos cada día deben estar enfocados en hacer la voluntad de Dios, no en hacer planes para cometer más pecados! Porque si estás planeando cometer más pecados, ¡eso es lo que harás! No planees pecar: planea servir al Señor, y eso es lo que harás.

1) Lea su Biblia diariamente (use el REB para estudios bíblicos; use su Biblia impresa para los servicios de la iglesia)

2) Comienza tu día arrepintiéndote de todo pecado y ora por el poder de Dios en tu vida para hacer su voluntad en todas las cosas.

3) Asista a una iglesia que crea en la Biblia y predique el Evangelio, donde se toque música cristiana tradicional en todos los servicios, incluidos los de los jóvenes: no rock, rap ni otras formas de música impía. Este tipo de iglesias no son fáciles de encontrar, pero serán un refugio de descanso para tu alma; y un lugar donde podrás servir al Señor y crecer espiritualmente a partir de la predicación fuerte de la Palabra de Dios.

¡Cuidado con las iglesias donde el pastor actúa como un rey, conduce un coche muy caro y vive en una casa cara! ¡Esto es señal de un profeta falso!

Mateo 20:25-28: “Pero Jesús los llamó, y dijo, “Tú sabes que los príncipes de los gentiles ejercen dominio sobre ellos, y los que son grandes ejercen autoridad sobre ellos. Pero no será esta manera entre ustedes; pero cualquiera que desee tener gran autoridad entre ustedes debe ser su siervo; y el que quiera ser el primero entre ustedes, debe ser vuestro esclavo. Incluso como el Hijo del hombre no vino para ser servido, sino para servir y dar su vida un rescate para muchos”.

1 Timoteo 6:6-10: “Pero la piedad con contentamiento es gran ganancia: porque no trajimos nada a este mundo, y es seguro que no podemos llevar cualquier cosa fuera; y teniendo comida y ropa, contentémonos con estos. Pero los que quieren ser ricos caen en tentación y una trampa, y en muchas concupiscencias necias y dolorosas cual ahogan a los hombres en la destrucción y la perdición: porque el amor al dinero es la raíz de todo mal; mientras que algunos codiciados después de ello, se han alejado desde la fe, y traspasaron a sí mismos a través con muchos dolores”.

En la Biblia, el pastor debe ser un siervo de Dios como Jesús, no un señor ni un rey. Huye de esa iglesia y encuentra un verdadero siervo de Dios que alimente tu alma con la preciosa Palabra de Dios. Solo recomiendo iglesias que sean fundamentalistas, independientes, bautistas, que prediquen el Evangelio y que utilicen únicamente música e himnos tradicionales. Amén.

Como Ser Salvado

¿Exactamente cómo y cuándo naciste de nuevo?

He aprendido por experiencia que aquellos que se niegan a responder lo hacen porque nunca han nacido de nuevo; no tienen idea de lo que significa, y por eso no pueden responder.

Si ese es tu caso, entonces tu destino eterno en este momento es el Infierno; y más tarde, el Lago de Fuego.

Afortunadamente, podemos cambiar nuestro destino eterno del Infierno al Cielo, si nos arrepentimos de nuestros pecados y recibimos a Jesucristo como nuestro Salvador personal.

Primero, debemos creer que Jesús es el Hijo de Dios; que fue crucificado por nuestros pecados, que fue sepultado y que resucitó de entre los muertos al tercer día.

Romanos 10:8-11: “Pero ¿qué dice? “La Palabra está cerca de ti, incluso en tu boca y en tu corazón”, es decir, la Palabra de fe (que predicamos), que si confesarás con tu boca al Señor Jesús, y creerás en tu corazón que Dios le levantó de los muertos, tú serás salvado: porque con el corazón, el hombre cree para justicia, y con la boca, la confesión se hace para la salvación: porque la Escritura dice, “cualquiera que en él creyere, no será avergonzado”.

Entonces, debemos arrepentirnos de nuestros pecados e invocar el Nombre del Señor Jesús para salvarnos.

Romanos 10:12-13: “Porque no hay diferencia entre el judio y el gentil: porque el mismo Señor sobre todo es rico a todos los que le invocan: porque está escrito, “Cualquiera que llamará sobre el Nombre del Señor será salvado”.

Juan 1:12: “Pero cuantos le recibieron, él les dio autoridad para convertirse los niños de Dios: incluso a aquellos quien creen sobre su Nombre”.

Cuando hacemos eso, entonces nacemos de nuevo instantáneamente en el Reino de Dios.

Estas listo para hacer eso? Si es así, entonces busca un lugar para orar en privado y haz esta oración con todo tu corazón al Señor Jesucristo:

“Señor Jesús, sé que he pecado contra USTED. ¡No soy bueno y usted eres justo! Creo que moriste en la cruz por mis pecados, fuiste enterrado y resucitaste de entre los muertos al tercer día. Quiero que vengas a mi vida y seas mi Señor y Salvador. Por favor entra en mi corazón ahora mismo. Perdóname por todos mis pecados y salva mi alma. En el poderoso Nombre de Jesús, oro, ¡Amén!”
