Volume 5 Introduction

We continue our study of the Letter to the Hebrews, with the introduction section of Chapter 1.2.

The theme of Chapter 1.2 shows Jesus in his Heavenly ministry as the new High Priest of Israel, according to the order of Melchizedek.

If you have been reading these studies since the beginning, you may skip down to the next section to save time. But i you are new to these studies, please continue.

The Letter to the Hebrews was written to a special group of Jews during the time after the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ (30 A.D) until the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D., a span of 40 years.

These Jews had been saved under the Old Covenant through their faith in the coming Messiah and the offering of the required sacrifices for their sins in the Temple in Jerusalem, using the services of the high priests of Aaron.

Before the cross of Christ, a Jew could become a child of God through faith, and have the assurance of Eternal Life using the required animal sacrifices through the priesthood of Aaron and his sons. The Way of Salvation under the Old Covenant was through faith in Jehovah and his coming Messiah through the animal sacrifices in the Temple in Jerusalem.

But, after Christ atoned for all sins on the cross through his Finished Work, never to be repeated, many of these Old Covenant Jews had a big problem: They had no way to connect with Jehovah their God spiritually, because the animal sacrifices were no longer acceptable to Jehovah; but at the same time, they did not yet believe in Jesus as their Messiah!

This was the entire purpose of this letter to the Hebrews: bring these children of God under the Old Covenant to faith in their Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. And at the same time, to warn them that the judgment of God was certain if they refused to repent of their animal sacrifices in the Temple and turn to Christ, once and for all time.

There was a time limit of 40 years for these Jews:

Hebrews 3:7-11: “Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, “Today, if you will hear his voice: harden not your hearts, as in the rebellion, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: when your fathers tested me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. Therefore, I was grieved with that generation; and I said, ‘They always go astray in their heart; and they have not known my ways.’ So I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter into my rest.’”

Just as the children of Israel did not believe the promises of God about the land of Canaan and decided to go back to Egypt, and they were condemned to wander for 40 years in the desert until they died: so these Jews also had 40 years: from 30 A.D. when Jesus atoned for all sins on the cross and rose from the dead, until 70 A.D., when the Roman army finally came and destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple, which resulted in the deaths of over 1 million Jews.

So in Hebrews, we are reading a letter whose audience has already died, and does not apply to us today; however, the letter is rich in spiritual truth for both Jews and Gentiles and wonderful lessons that we can apply to ourselves today.

This is NOT the message of the letter to the Romans, which is all about salvation (for both Jews and Gentiles today) under the New Covenant: “from saving faith to mature faith...” Romans 1:17.

I’m going to keep repeating this in every lesson of Hebrews, because the Bible study is reaching many new people who missed the earlier studies; and it is very helpful as well to remind us of the context of what we are reading.

Now, let’s take a closer look at Chapter 1.2 with the Introduction section.

The previous study gave a brief survey of the section headings. If you missed any of the previous studies, I urge you to read through them, so that you have the necessary background for this study. I cannot repeat all that information in every study.

Here is the basic outline of the entire chapter:

Hebrews, Chapter 1.2: God the Son returned into Heaven to be our Great High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek (4:14 - 7:28)

§Unique Introduction: Jesus Christ could understand our weaknesses and serve as our perfect High Priest (4:14 - 5:10)

¶Opposite God the Son became a real, sinless human being with compassion for the weakness of humanity (4:14 - 5:3)

¶Opposite God the Son was called by God his Father to become a High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek (5:4 - 10)

§Complement Body: Melchizedek received tithes from Abraham and Levi, so his Priesthood was superior to the priesthood of Aaron (5:11 - 7:17)

¶Opposite These Jews were immature believers who needed to move from animal sacrifices to the Finished Work of Christ (5:11 - 6:8)

¶Opposite The unconditional oath of God to Abraham gives us strong consolation to us, who have fled for refuge to Christ (6:9 - 20)

¶Complement Melchizedek was the priest of the most High God: the king of righteousness, and the king of peace (7:1 - 3)

¶Complement Melchizedek was so great that even Abraham paid tithes to him, and Levi implicitly did also (7:4 - 10)

¶Unique The Law of Moses has been changed to transfer the office of the High Priesthood from Aaron to Jesus Christ (7:11 - 17)

§Complement Conclusion: The Priesthood of Jesus was superior to the priesthood of Aaron for two reasons: (7:18 - 28)

¶Complement Because of the oath of God making Him High Priest (7:18 - 22)

¶Complement Because He did not need to make a sacrifice for sin for himself (7:23 - 28)

Here is the outline for the first paragraph:

§Unique Introduction: Jesus Christ could understand our weaknesses and serve as our perfect High Priest (4:14 - 5:10)

¶Opposite God the Son became a real, sinless human being with compassion for the weakness of humanity (4:14 - 5:3)

Unique Seeing then that we have a great High Priest that has passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

Complement For we have not a High Priest who is unable to sympathize with our infirmities; but he was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Complement Therefore, let us come boldly to the Throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy; and find grace to help in time of need.

Opposite For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins; who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the Way, because he himself also is surrounded by weakness.

Opposite And for this reason, he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer an animal sacrifice for sins.

Comments: First of all, notice the Golden Ratio design of the sub-paragraphs: one unique, two complements, and two opposites. This is the reverse of the design in the next paragraph; thus, they are opposites on the paragraph level.

Also, notice that the very first sentence of this chapter mentions that Jesus is a “great high priest that has passed into the heavens.” This sets the stage for everything that follows in the chapter.

In the introduction, the Apostle Paul explained how Jesus was qualified to serve as a high priest of Israel in general.

In this first paragraph, Paul showed that the Lord Jesus was fully human in all respects, yet without sin. This is consistent with the Scriptures in general:

Hebrews 4:15: “For we have not a High Priest who is unable to sympathize with our infirmities; but he was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”

1 Peter 2:21-22 “For even unto this were you called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow his steps; who did not sin; neither was guile found in his mouth.”

The high priests of Aaron and his sons were expected to maintain the highest standards of holy living and behavior, but sinless perfection was not possible for them; so when he came to offer an animal sacrifice in the Temple on the Day of Atonement for the people of Israel, the first thing he had to do was to offer an animal sacrifice for himself and his household, to ensure that any sins in his own life or even his family were covered; otherwise, he would be killed when he entered the presence of God, because any sin is deadly in the presence of a thrice-holy God!

Hebrews 5:3: “And for this reason, he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer an animal sacrifice for sins.”

Leviticus 16:2-6: “And Jehovah said to Moses, “Speak to Aaron your brother, that he does not come at all times into the holy place within the veil before the mercy seat, which is upon the Ark, that he does not die: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat. In this manner shall Aaron come into the holy place: with a young bull for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering. ... And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering. And Aaron shall offer his bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make an atonement for himself, and for his household.”

But the Lord Jesus Christ did not need to do this, because He never sinned, nor could He ever sin, because He is God! Praise the Lord, Amen!

Hebrews 4:15-16: “For we have not a High Priest who is unable to sympathize with our infirmities; but he was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Therefore, let us come boldly to the Throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy; and find grace to help in time of need.”

Jesus is the perfect Mediator between God and mankind, because not only is He sinless, and therefore, it is perfectly safe for Him to enter into the presence of God the Father in Heaven; but He understands our deepest fears, longings, troubles, and temptations to sin. Thus, Jesus can pray for us with complete understanding and empathy to our Heavenly Father in a way that a sinner like a priest of Aaron could never do.

I must also mention here that the Popes of Rome have lied about Mary the mother of Jesus in many ways; but perhaps the most evil lie of all is that she is the “Queen of Heaven”, who serves as a female “Mediatrix” between Jesus (God) and mankind.

My friends, this is unspeakable evil! And here are the scriptural reasons why:

1) The priests of Aaron were all men. No woman was ever allowed to serve as a priest in the tribe of Levi, not ever.

Numbers 18:1-3: “And Jehovah said to Aaron, “You and your sons and your father’s house with you shall bear the iniquity of the Sanctuary; and you and your sons with you shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood. And your brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father, bring with you, that they may be joined to you, and minister to you; but you and your sons with you shall minister before the Tabernacle of Testimony. And they shall keep your charge, and the charge of all the Tabernacle; only they shall not come near the vessels of the Sanctuary and the altar, that neither they, nor you also, die.”

2) The Bible only speaks of Jesus Christ as the High Priest according to Melchizedek, not Mary! You will not find a single word about Mary in either the Letter to the Hebrews or in the Letter to the Romans, which are the main sources of teaching in the Bible about the doctrine of Salvation (Soteriology). None of the teaching letters of the Apostles Paul, Peter, John, Jude, or James mention Mary even one time! There is a very good reason for that: Mary is not what the popes have claimed her to be!

3) There was always only one high priest in Israel under the Old Covenant; when he died, one of his sons became high priest in his place. So also now under the New Covenant, there is only one High Priest according to Melchizedek: the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no other priest in Heaven to serve as mediator between God and mankind!

4) The “Queen of Heaven” is a title that comes from ancient paganism. The popes brought this pagan evil into the Roman Catholic church to accommodate the false teachings of many in the countries where the church ruled; but it is NOT Christian or Biblical at all!

Wikipedia: “Queen of Heaven was a title given to a number of ancient sky goddesses worshipped throughout the ancient Mediterranean and the ancient Near East. Goddesses known to have been referred to by the title include Inanna, Anat, Isis, Nut, Astarte, and possibly Asherah. In Greco-Roman times, Hera and Juno bore this title.”

Thus, we must say that the claim that Mary is a “Mediatrix” in Heaven who supposedly receives our prayers and intercedes with a “perpetually angry Jesus” is a lie from the pit of Hell!

God calls us to go DIRECTLY TO JESUS, and not to anyone else! Amen!

Satan wants to pray to Mary instead of Jesus, because he knows that Mary can do NOTHING for you, and that you will go to Hell, because Mary cannot forgive your sins; neither can she intercede with Jesus to forgive your sins. Praying to idols of Mary or any other idol is forbidden by God and will be punished!

Exodus 20:1-6: “And God spoke all these words, saying, “I am Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery: you shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make you any carved image, nor any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them: for I, Jehovah your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children until the third and fourth generation of them that hate me, and showing mercy to thousands of them that love me, and keep my Commandments.”

The Bible is clear: to pray to an idol of Mary or Jesus or one of the saints is no different than praying to an idol of Buddha, an idol of Shiva or Brahma or an idol of Lucifer! You are praying to a demon and not to the one true God! Amen. If you want to pray to God, you must go directly to Jesus Christ, and no other.

1 Corinthians 10:20-21: “But I say rather, that the things which the heathen sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God; and I do not want you to be partakers of demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons. You cannot be partakers of the Lord’s Table, and of the table of demons.”

¶Opposite God the Son was called by God his Father to become a High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek (5:4 - 10)

Opposite And no man takes this honor to himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.

Opposite So also Christ did not glorify himself to be made a High Priest; but he that said to him, “You are my Son; today have I begotten you.” As he says also in another Scripture, “You are a Priest into the Ages according to the order of Melchizedek.”

Complement Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears to him that was able to save him from death (and was heard in that he was afraid), though he is the Son of God, yet he learned obedience by the things which he suffered.

Complement And having been made complete, he became the Author of eternal salvation to all them that obey him;

Unique called by God a High Priest, according to the order of Melchizedek.

Comments: First of all, notice the Golden Ratio design of the sub-paragraphs: two opposites, two complements, and one unique. This is the reverse of the design in the previous paragraph; thus, they are opposites on the paragraph level.

Secondly, this paragraph focuses on the fact that God the Father called his Son to become the High Priest according to Melchizedek.

1) Only those who were called by God were fit to serve as a high priest (or as a preacher). Both Aaron and his sons and the Lord Jesus Christ were called by God.

2) But the Lord Jesus Christ was two things that the priests of Aaron were not or did not have:

a) Jesus was the only begotten Son of the Living God!

Psalm 2:7: “I will declare the decree: Jehovah has said to me, ‘You are my Son; this day have I begotten you.’”

b) The Lord Jesus had been directly ordained by God the Father as the High Priest according to Melchizedek by scriptural command.

Hebrews 5:6: “As he says also in another Scripture, “You are a Priest into the Ages according to the order of Melchizedek.”

3) Even though Jesus was the Divine Son of God, yet his human nature learned obedience through the intense and horrifying suffering that He endured, both in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross of Calvary. And this suffering made Him complete, so that He became the Author of eternal salvation to all them that obey Him.

Jesus was the perfect union of God and Man, two natures in one Person; which means that He is the perfect Mediator between God and mankind; and there is no other!

1 Timothy 2:5-6: “for there is only one God, and only one Mediator between God and men: the Man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom for all mankind, to be testified in due time.”

Conclusion: Do you pray to God? Do you want to know the one true God as your Savior and Lord? Then you must go directly to Jesus Christ, the only Mediator between God and mankind. Mary, the saints, or any other idol cannot hear your prayers, because they were only human beings, and not God.

No idol or god by any other name has any power to save you or forgive your sins! Only the Lord Jesus Christ can do that.

Acts 4:12: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other Name under Heaven given among men, by which we must be saved.”

John 14:6: “Jesus says to him, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes to the Father, except through me.”

Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who died for your sins on the cross almost 2,000 years ago and rose again from the dead, according to the Scriptures?

If so, then it is easy to be saved, if you are willing to admit that you are a sinner before God, and if you want to receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.

Here is a prayer that you can use to be saved:

“Lord Jesus, I know that I have sinned against YOU. I am no good, and you are righteous! You are my only hope for salvation! I believe that you died on the cross for my sins, you were buried, and you rose again from the dead on the third day. I want you to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart right now. Forgive me for all my sins, and save my soul. In the mighty Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen!”

Así como los hijos de Israel no creyeron en las promesas de Dios acerca de la tierra de Canaán y decidieron regresar a Egipto, y fueron condenados a vagar cuarenta años en el desierto hasta que murieran: así que estos judíos también tenían 40 años: desde el 30 d.C. cuando Jesús expió todos los pecados en la cruz y resucitó de entre los muertos, hasta el 70 d.C., cuando el ejército romano finalmente llegó y destruyó Jerusalén y el Templo, lo que resultó en la muerte de más de 1 millón de judíos.

Entonces, en Hebreos, estamos leyendo una carta cuya audiencia ya murió, y no se aplica a nosotros hoy; sin embargo, la carta es rica en verdad espiritual tanto para judíos como para gentiles y lecciones maravillosas que podemos aplicarnos a nosotros mismos hoy.

Este NO es el mensaje de la carta a los Romanos, que trata sobre la salvación (tanto para los judíos como para los gentiles hoy) bajo el Nuevo Pacto: “de la fe salvadora a la fe madura...” Romanos 1:17.

Voy a seguir repitiendo esto en cada lección de Hebreos, porque el estudio de la Biblia está llegando a muchas personas nuevas que se perdieron los estudios anteriores; y también es muy útil para recordarnos el contexto de lo que estamos leyendo.

Ahora, echemos un vistazo más de cerca al Capítulo 1.2 con la sección de Introducción.

Lo opuesto Porque todo sumo sacerdote tomado de entre los hombres, es constituido a favor de los hombres en lo que a Dios se refiere, para que presente también ofrendas y sacrificios por los pecados; que pueda compadecerse de los ignorantes y extraviados, puesto que él también está rodeado de flaqueza.

Lo opuesto Y por esta razón, él debe, en cuanto a la gente, así también para sí mismo, ofrecer un sacrificio animal por los pecados.

Comentarios: En primer lugar, observe el diseño de la proporción áurea de los subpárrafos: uno único, dos complementarios y dos opuestos. Este es el reverso del diseño en el siguiente párrafo; por lo tanto, son opuestos en el nivel de párrafo.

Además, observe que la primera oración de este capítulo menciona que Jesús es un “un gran Sumo Sacerdote que ha pasado en a los cielos.” Esto prepara el escenario para todo lo que sigue en el capítulo.

En la introducción, el apóstol Pablo explicó cómo Jesús estaba calificado para servir como sumo sacerdote de Israel en general.

En este primer párrafo, Pablo mostró que el Señor Jesús era completamente humano en todos los aspectos, pero sin pecado. Esto es consistente con las Escrituras en general:

Hebreos 4:15: “For we have not a High Priest who is unable to sympathize with our infirmities; but he was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”

Se esperaba que los sumos sacerdotes de Aarón y sus hijos mantuvieran los más altos estándares de vida y comportamiento santos, pero la perfección sin pecado no era posible para ellos; así que cuando vino a ofrecer un sacrificio animal en el Templo en el Día de la Expiación para el pueblo de Israel, lo primero que tuvo que hacer fue ofrecer un sacrificio animal para él y su casa, para asegurarse de que cualquier pecado en su propia vida o incluso en su familia fuera cubierto; de lo contrario, sería asesinado cuando entrara en la presencia de Dios, ¡porque cualquier pecado es mortal en la presencia de un Dios tres veces santo!

Hebreos 5:3: “Y por esta razón, él debe, en cuanto a la gente, así también para sí mismo, ofrecer un sacrificio animal por los pecados.”

Levíticio 16:2-6: “Y Jehová dijo a Moisés, “Di a Aarón tu hermano, que no en todo tiempo entre en el Santuario detrás del velo, delante del propiciatorio que está sobre el arca, para que no muera: porque yo apareceré en la nube sobre el propiciatorio. Con esto entrará Aarón en el Santuario: con un becerro pra expiación, y un carnero para holocausto.. ... Y desde la congregación de los hijos de Israel tomará dos machos cabríos para expiación, y un carnero para holocausto. Y Aarón ofrecerá el becerro de la expiación, que es suyo, y hará la reconciliación por sí y por su casa.”

¡Pero el Señor Jesucristo no necesitaba hacer esto, porque Él nunca pecó, ni podría pecar jamás, porque Él es Dios! ¡Alabado sea el Señor, Amén!

Hebreos 4:15-16: “Porque no tenemos un Sumo Sacerdote quien no puede simpatizar con nuestras debilidades; pero en todos los puntos, él fue tentado como somos, aún sin pecado. Por lo tanto, vengamos audazmente al Trono de la Gracia, que podamos obtener misericordia; y encontrar gracia para ayudar en tiempos de necesidad.”

Jesús es el Mediador perfecto entre Dios y la humanidad, porque no solo es sin pecado, y por lo tanto, es perfectamente seguro para Él entrar en la presencia de Dios Padre en el Cielo; pero Él entiende nuestros más profundos temores, anhelos, problemas y tentaciones de pecar. Por lo tanto, Jesús puede orar por nosotros con total comprensión y empatía a nuestro Padre Celestial de una manera que un pecador como un sacerdote de Aarón nunca podría hacer.

También debo mencionar aquí que los Papas de Roma han mentido acerca de María, la madre de Jesús, de muchas maneras; pero quizás la mentira más malvada de todas es que ella es la “Reina del Cielo”, quien sirve como una “Medianera” femenina entre Jesús (Dios) y la humanidad.

Mis amigos, ¡esto es un mal indescriptible! Y aquí están las razones bíblicas de por qué:

1) Los sacerdotes de Aarón eran todos hombres. A ninguna mujer se le permitió nunca servir como sacerdote en la tribu de Leví, nunca.

Leviticus 18:1-3: “And Jehovah said to Aaron, “You and your sons and your father’s house with you shall bear the iniquity of the Sanctuary; and you and your sons with you shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood. And your brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father, bring with you, that they may be joined to you, and minister to you; but you and your sons with you shall minister before the Tabernacle of Testimony. And they shall keep your charge, and the charge of all the Tabernacle; only they shall not come near the vessels of the Sanctuary and the altar, that neither they, nor you also, die.”

2) La Biblia solo habla de Jesucristo como Sumo Sacerdote según Melquisedec, ¡no de María! No encontrará una sola palabra sobre María ni en la Carta a los Hebreos ni en la Carta a los Romanos, que son las principales fuentes de enseñanza en la Biblia sobre la doctrina de la Salvación (Soteriología). ¡Ninguna de las cartas de enseñanza de los apóstoles Pablo, Pedro, Juan, Judas o Santiago menciona a María ni una sola vez! Hay una muy buena razón para eso: ¡María no es lo que los papas han dicho que es!

3) Siempre hubo un solo sumo sacerdote en Israel bajo el Antiguo Pacto; cuando murió, uno de sus hijos se convirtió en sumo sacerdote en su lugar. Así también ahora, bajo el Nuevo Pacto, hay un solo Sumo Sacerdote según Melquisedec: el Señor Jesucristo. ¡No hay otro sacerdote en el Cielo para servir como mediador entre Dios y la humanidad!

4) La “Reina del Cielo” es un título que proviene del antiguo paganismo. Los papas trajeron este mal pagano a la iglesia católica romana para acomodar las falsas enseñanzas de muchos en los países donde gobernaba la iglesia; ¡pero NO es cristiano ni bíblico en absoluto!

Wikipedia [traducido del inglés]: “Reina del Cielo era un título otorgado a varias diosas del cielo antiguas adoradas en todo el antiguo Mediterráneo y el antiguo Cercano Oriente.Las diosas conocidas a las que se hace referencia con el título incluyen a Inanna, Anat, Isis, Nut, Astarte y posiblemente a Asera. En la época grecorromana, Hera y Juno llevaban este título.”

Por lo tanto, debemos decir que la afirmación que María es una “Mediadora” en el Cielo quien supuestamente recibe nuestras oraciones e intercede con un “Jesús perpetuamente enojado” ¡es una mentira del abismo del Infierno!

¡Dios nos llama a ir DIRECTAMENTE A JESÚS, y no a nadie más! ¡Amén!

Satanás quiere orar a María en vez de a Jesús, porque sabe que María no puede hacer NADA por ti, y que irás al Infierno, porque María no puede perdonar tus pecados; ni ella puede interceder ante Jesús para perdonar tus pecados. ¡Rezar a los ídolos de María o cualquier otro ídolo está prohibido por Dios y será castigado!

Éxodo 20:1-6: “Y habló Dios todas estas palabras, diciendo, “Soy Jehová tu Dios, que te saqué de la tierra de Egipto, de casa de siervos. No tendrás ningún dioses aparte de mí. Usted ni debe hacer para usted ninguna imagen tallada, ni ninguna semejanza de nada que esté arriba en el cielo, o que esté abajo en la tierra, o que esté en el agua debajo de la tierra; no te inclinarás a ellos, ni los servirás: porque yo, Jehová tu Dios, soy un Dios celoso, visitando la maldad de los padres sobre los hijos hasta la tercera y cuarta generación de los que me aborrecen, y mostrando misericordia a miles de ellos que me aman y guardan mis Mandamientos.”

La Biblia es clara: orar a un ídolo de María o Jesús o uno de los santos ni es diferente que orar a un ídolo de Buda, un ídolo de Shiva o Brahma o un ídolo de Lucifer! ¡Estás orando a un demonio y no al único Dios verdadero! Amén. Si quieres orar a Dios, debes ir directamente a Jesucristo, y ningún otro.

1 Corintios 10:20-21: “Antes digo que lo que los gentiles sacrifican, a los demonios lo sacrifican, y no a Dios; y no quiero que ustedes os hagáis partícipes con los demonios. No podéis beber la copa del Señor, y la copa de los demonios; no podéis participar de la mesa del Señor, y de la mesa de los demonios.”

¶Lo opuesto Dios el Hijo fue llamado por Dios su Padre para convertirse en Sumo Sacerdote según el orden de Melquisedec (5:4 - 10)

Lo opuesto Y ningún hombre toma este honor para sí mismo, sino el que es llamado por Dios, como fue Aarón.

Lo opuesto Así también Cristo no se glorificó a sí mismo para ser hecho sumo sacerdote, sino él que le dijo, “Tú eres mi Hijo, yo te he engendrado hoy.” Como dice también en otra Escritura, “Tú eres Sacerdote para siempre según el orden de Melquisedec.”

El complemento Quien en los días de su carne, cuando había ofrecido oraciones y súplicas con fuerte llanto y lágrimas al que podía salvarlo desde la muerte (y él fue escuchado, en que tenía miedo), aunque es el Hijo de Dios, aún aprendió la obediencia por las cosas que padeció.

El complemento Y habiendo sido hecho perfecto, él vino a ser Autor de eterna salvación para todos los que le obedecen;

Único llamado por Dios un Sumo Sacerdote, según el orden de Melquisedec.

Comentarios: En primer lugar, observe el diseño de la proporción áurea de los subpárrafos: dos opuestos, dos complementarios y uno único. Este es el reverso del diseño en el párrafo anterior; por lo tanto, son opuestos en el nivel de párrafo.

En segundo lugar, este párrafo se enfoca en el hecho que Dios Padre llamó a su Hijo para convertirse en Sumo Sacerdote según Melquisedec.

1) Solo aquellos que fueron llamados por Dios eran aptos para servir como sumo sacerdote (o como predicador). Tanto Aarón como sus hijos y el Señor Jesucristo fueron llamados por Dios.

2) Pero el Señor Jesucristo era dos cosas que los sacerdotes de Aarón no eran ni tenían:

a) ¡Jesús era el Hijo unigénito del Dios vivo!

Salmo 2:7: “Yo publicaré el decreto: Jehová me ha dicho, ‘Mi Hijo eres tú; yo te engendré hoy.’

b) El Señor Jesús había sido directamente ordenado por Dios el Padre como Sumo Sacerdote según Melquisedec por mandato de las Escrituras.

Hebreos 5:6: “Como dice también en otra Escritura, “Tú eres Sacerdote para siempre según el orden de Melquisedec.”

3) Aunque Jesús era el Divino Hijo de Dios, su naturaleza humana aprendió la obediencia a través del intenso y horrible sufrimiento que soportó, tanto en el Huerto de Getsemaní como en la cruz del Calvario. Y este sufrimiento le hizo completo, de modo que llegó a ser Autor de eterna salvación para todos los que le obedecen.

Jesús fue la unión perfecta de Dios y el Hombre, dos naturalezas en una Persona; lo que quiere decir que Él es el perfecto Mediador entre Dios y los hombres; y no hay otro!

1 Timoteo 2:5-6: “porque hay solo uno Dios, y solo único mediador entre Dios y los hombres, el hombre Jesús Cristo; quien se dio a sí mismo un rescate por todos, ser testificado a su debido tiempo.”

Conclusión: ¿Oras a Dios? ¿Quieres conocer al único Dios verdadero como tu Salvador y Señor? Entonces debes ir directamente a Jesucristo, el único Mediador entre Dios y la humanidad. María, los santos, o cualquier otro ídolo no pueden escuchar tus oraciones, porque eran solo seres humanos, y no Dios.

¡Ningún ídolo o dios con cualquier otro nombre tiene el poder para salvarte o perdonar tus pecados! Solo el Señor Jesucristo puede hacer eso.

Hechos 4:12: “Tampoco hay salvación en ningún otro: porque no hay otro Nombre bajo del Cielo, dado entre los hombres, por cual debemos ser salvados.”

Juan 14:6: “Jesús le dijo, “Soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida; nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí.”

¿Crees que Jesucristo es el Hijo de Dios, que murió por tus pecados en la cruz hace casi 2000 años y resucitó de entre los muertos, según las Escrituras?

Si es así, entonces es fácil ser salvado, si está dispuesto a admitir que es un pecador ante Dios, y si desea recibir a Jesucristo como su Salvador personal.

Aquí hay una oración que puedes usar para ser salvado:

“Señor Jesús, sé que he pecado contra TI. ¡No soy bueno y tú eres justo! Creo que moriste en la cruz por mis pecados, fuiste enterrado y resucitaste de entre los muertos al tercer día. Quiero que vengas a mi vida y seas mi Señor y Salvador. Por favor entra en mi corazón ahora mismo. Perdóname por todos mis pecados y salva mi alma. En el poderoso Nombre de Jesús, oro, ¡Amén!”
