Romans, Chapter 2.5: The sanctification of believers through the Assembly of Jesus Christ (12:1 - 16:27)

§Complement Introduction: Be a Christian everyday, both inwardly and outwardly (12:1 - 21)

Introduction

To know the will of God for your life is difficult for every born again Christian; but it is not impossible.

If you have not been saved (or born again) yet, then the will of God for you is to repent of your sins, and believe on Jesus Christ to be saved:

Acts 17:30-31: “And the times of this ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because he has appointed a Day, in which he will judge the world in righteousness by that Man whom he has ordained; of which he has given assurance to all men, in that he has raised him from the dead.”

Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified on a cross to atone for ALL of your sins, was buried, and then He rose up bodily from the dead on the third day in victory over sin, death, Hell, and the grave. Then you must receive Him as your Savior, and call upon his Name to save you. There is a prayer at the end of this study that you can use to be saved.

Roman Catholics and many religious “Christians” will ignore what I just said, and they will think,

“I’ve been baptized, I’m a church member, I pray to idols of Mary and the saints, I say the “Hail Mary” every day, I do good every day, so I’ll probably be okay at the Judgment.”

WRONG! You have religion, but you don’t have Jesus! None of what follows in this study applies to you, because you do not yet know Jesus Christ as your Savior. If you do not repent of your false religion and your sins, you will plunge into Hell when you die, and there will never be any hope for you again forever.

Fortunately, while you are alive, there is still hope for you to be saved! Please read the invitation to be saved at the end of this study, and pray the sinner’s prayer to receive Christ as your personal Savior, so that you can truly know God and have Eternal Life, RIGHT NOW. Amen.

§Complement Introduction: Be a Christian everyday, both inwardly and outwardly (12:1 - 21)

¶Opposite Be not conformed to this world, but transformed by the renewing of your mind (12:1 - 5)

Unique Therefore, I exhort you, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice: holy and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

Complement And be not conformed to this age;

Complement but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may discern what is that good, acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Opposite For I say, through the grace given to me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Opposite For as we have many parts in one body, and all parts do not have the same function: so we, being many, are one body in Christ; and individually, we are parts one of another.

Comments: But if you have been born again, then this is just the beginning! Now that you have been saved, you have a new life in Jesus Christ as his Redeemed child of God, and you have a new relationship with Him that you didn’t have before. Therefore, you must know the will of God for your life every day, so that you will be conformed to his image, day by day, until you go to be with Him in glory.

The theme of this paragraph (which is the beginning of everything else in this chapter) is all about submitting ourselves to God daily, as a living sacrifice. If every believer in Christ did this, there would be far less strife and division in local churches than there is, as Paul discussed later on in the chapter.

How to know the general will of God for every believer in Jesus Christ

It is difficult to submit yourself to God daily! But it should be one of the first prayers on our lips every morning before we get out of bed, because it is reasonable for us to live every day for Christ, who has done so much for us!

2 Corinthians 5:14-15: “For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge this: that if one died for all, then were all spiritually dead; and that he died for all, that they who live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him who died for them, and rose again.”

And Jesus set the example for all of us with his own life on Earth:

Matthew 16:24: “Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘If any will come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me’”

Matthew 26:39: “And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, ‘O my Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.’”

Romans 12:1-2: “Therefore, I exhort you, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice: holy and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this age; but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may discern what is that good, acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Born again believers in Jesus Christ have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us! We must be conformed to Jesus our Savior, who dwells in our hearts through the Holy Spirit.

Colossians 1:27: “to whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the expectation of glory”

And when we submit our bodies as a living sacrifice to Jesus our Savior, then we become transformed into the image of Jesus Christ, little by little, hour by hour, day by day, month by month, and year by year. This is what Paul meant by

“be transformed by the renewing of your mind”.

We renew our minds when first we confess and repent of our sins to the Lord Jesus daily, to empty out the garbage of the world that we have to face every day at work, and maybe even at home; and then secondly, when we read the Bible, to fill our minds with his precious Word.

These daily activities will transform our hearts and minds into the image of Jesus Christ over a long period of time. Transformation to walk and talk like Jesus takes a lifetime of submission and obedience to the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.

“but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, SO THAT you may discern what is that good, acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

This is also how we can discern the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God! In fact, it is the ONLY WAY to discern the will of God for our life.

If you fill your mind with the garbage of the world instead of with his Word, do not be surprised when you find it difficult to discern the will of God! If you want to know the will of God, you must read his Word daily in order to know his thoughts, because his Word is the mind of God, the mind of Christ:

Isaiah 55:8-11: “‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts; neither are your ways my ways,’ says Jehovah. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and does not return there, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give both seed to the sower, and bread to the eater, so shall be my Word that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing to which I sent it.”

1 Corinthians 2:9-11, 16: “But as it is written, ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard; neither has entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him.’ But God has revealed them to us by his Holy Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things; indeed, the deep things of God. For what man knows the hidden things of a man, except the spirit of man which is in him? Even so no man knows the hidden things of God, but the Spirit of God.... But we have the mind of Christ.”

How to know the personal will of God for YOU

Reading the Bible is very important; BUT, if you only read the Bible, but do not submit your body to obey Jesus Christ your Savior, you will only know the will of God that has been revealed by Scripture. Here are a few examples:

1 Thessalonians 4:3: “for this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that you should abstain from fornication”

1 Thessalonians 5:18: “in everything, give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you”

1 Peter 2:15: “for this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men”

But, what if you want to know the will of God about someone that you are dating or that you want to date?

The Bible gives us principles for a godly spouse

1 Peter 3:1-4: “Likewise, you wives, be in subjection to your own husbands, so that, if any do not obey the Word of God, they may also without the Word be won to Christ by the conduct of the wives, while they observe your pure conduct in fear. Of which let it not be the outward adornment of braiding the hair, and wearing gold ornaments, or the wearing of worldly clothing; but rather let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is of great price in the sight of God.”

In other words, a godly woman should be focused more on being conformed to the Lord Jesus in her heart, rather than being conformed to the world and modern culture and fashion.

The Bible also provides principles for a godly husband

Paul instructed Timothy, who was a pastor of a church:

1 Timothy 4:12: “Let no man despise your youth, but be an example of the believers: in word, in conduct, in selfless love, in spirit, in faith, and in sexual purity.”

So the pastor should be an example of what a Christian should be! And if you are a Christian woman, don’t you want your husband to be everything that a Christian should be? Of course, yes! And here is more instruction from the Bible on what a Christian man should be:

1 Timothy 3:2-4: “An Overseer then must be blameless, a husband of only one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, able to teach; not next to any wine; not quick-tempered; not greedy for dishonest gain, but patient; not a fighter; not covetous; one that rules well his own household, having his children in subjection with all gravity.” Just imagine if every Christian family were led by a man and woman who loved the Lord Jesus with all of their hearts; and they did all the things that the Bible says that they should do!

These are standards that God wants us to aspire to. Even if we were saved from a bad life, like in drugs or alcohol or even prostitution, God can change us from inside out by his grace, and He can make coal into diamonds for his glory, Amen!

How can we know the will of God about things the Bible says nothing about?

Now, the Bible gives us specific examples of the will of God, and we are given principles for godly living; however, that doesn’t help us when we need to know:

“Lord Jesus, I’m very interested in this person; but I’m not sure if this relationship is your will or not. Please show me what I should do about this person. Break up or continue dating?”

“Should I date this person or not?”

“Should I marry this person or not?”

And there are other areas of life that we also need answers from God:

“Lord, I need a job, please help me to find a job that will allow me to support myself and my family.”

“Lord, lead me to the job that you want me to work at.”

“Lord, I lost the keys to my house; please help me to find them.”

“Lord, my coworker is giving me trouble; show me what I should do in this situation.”

“Lord, my car has broken down; help me to get it repaired, because I don’t have the money to fix it.”

“Lord, I did something stupid and now my spouse is angry with me; please help me to repair our marriage.”

“Lord, my son/daughter is rebellious and I don’t know what to do about it. Please show me what to do about this situation.”

Now, in some of these situations, we can find principles from the Bible that will help us to solve the problem. But not always!

In those situations, assuming that you have been truly born again, then you have direct access to the throne room of God; and God can speak to your heart. NOT in an audible voice! No, but to your heart in such a way that you will know what to do, because your heart and mind is filled with the Word of God and the Holy Spirit of God.

How do you do that?

Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in Jehovah with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him as Lord; and he shall direct your paths.”

And REMAIN on your face in prayer until you get an answer from God! Amen. This is not easy, but a disciplined, mature believer in Jesus Christ knows that sometimes we must “pray through”; which means that we keep on praying until God answers from Heaven! Amen.

We can stop and take care of necessary tasks in the home or even go to work; after work and chores are done, start praying again until Heaven comes down and glory fills your soul! Amen.

Conclusion

1) Read the Bible daily, so that your heart and mind will be filled with his Word; this will help you to know the will of God for all believers. I recommend using the Kingdom Study Bible for your daily reading; it is a free download in PDF format; or if you like, you can read it in your web browser on my website for free.

Psalm 1:1-4: “Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the Law of Jehovah; and in his Law does he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season. Also his leaf shall not wither, and whatsoever he does shall prosper.”

Ephesians 5:17-21: “Therefore be not unwise; but understanding what is the will of the Lord. And be not drunk with wine (in which is excess), but be continually filled with the Spirit: speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; giving thanks always for all things to God and the Father in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ: submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.”

2) When your heart and mind are filled with his Word, this will help you to grow spiritually; which will enable you to learn how to follow and obey the Lord Jesus more effectively.

1 Peter 2:1-3: “Therefore, laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisy, and envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the Word, that you may grow thereby (if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious).”

3) Pray and submit your body to God daily in all things, so that you will know the will of God for YOU. Amen.

Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in Jehovah with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him as Lord; and he shall direct your paths.”

We will examine what the Bible says about the will of God for marriage in the next study.

How to be saved

A sinner cannot present his body as a sacrifice to God in truth, because he is in rebellion against God! He or she has never repented of their sins and received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior; therefore, they are in disobedience to the command of the Gospel of Christ to REPENT!

Yes, there are many religious people, such as Roman Catholics, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Shintos, Taoists, and thousands of other sects; and sadly, there are even many Protestants and Baptist people who have never been born again! They go to church, they sing in the choir, they have been baptized, and they have even memorized the Bible, the Quran, and the stories of the Bhagavad Gita.

But they have never repented of their sins and have never placed all of their hope for Heaven in the Finished Atonement of Jesus Christ on the cross. They have tried every way EXCEPT Jesus Christ and Him alone.

John 14:6: “Jesus says to him, ‘I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes to the Father, except through me.’”

Matthew 7:21-23: “Not every one that says to me, ‘Lord, Lord’, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but only he that does the will of my Father, who is in Heaven. Many will say to me in that day, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your Name? And in your Name, have we not cast out demons? And in your Name, have we not done many wonderful works?’ And then will I profess to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you that work iniquity.’”

Do you want to be saved and KNOW that when you die, you will immediately enter Heaven?

Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and died on the cross to atone for your sins? And that He was buried, and that Jesus rose up from the dead on the third day?

The Bible says that if we believe these things, we can be saved, if we repent of our sins and receive Jesus Christ as our personal Savior:

Romans 10:8-13: “But what does it say? “The Word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart”; that is to say, the Word of faith (which we preach), that if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved: for with the heart, man believes into righteousness; and with the mouth, confession is made into salvation: for the Scripture says, “Whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.” For there is no difference between the Jew and the Gentile: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him: for it is written, “whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Are you ready to do that? If so, then find a place to pray privately, and pray this prayer with all of your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ:

“Lord Jesus, I know that I have sinned against YOU. I am no good, and you are righteous! You are my only hope for salvation! I believe that you died on the cross for my sins, you were buried, and you rose again from the dead on the third day. I want you to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart right now. Forgive me for all my sins, and save my soul. In the mighty Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen!”

Introducción

Conocer la voluntad de Dios para tu vida es difícil para todo cristiano nacido de nuevo; pero no es imposible.

Si aún no has sido salvado (o nacido de nuevo), entonces la voluntad de Dios para ti es que te arrepientas de tus pecados y creas en Jesucristo para ser salvado:

Hechos 17:30-31: “Y los tiempos de esta ignorancia, Dios pasó por alto; pero ahora ordena a todos los hombres en todas partes que se arrepientan; porque él ha designado un Día, en el cual juzgará al mundo en justicia, por aquel varón a quien ha designado; de los cuales ha dado seguridad a todos los hombres, en que le ha levantado de entre los muertos”.

Jesucristo es el Hijo de Dios que nació de una virgen, vivió una vida sin pecado, fue crucificado en una cruz para expiar TODOS tus pecados, fue sepultado y luego resucitó corporalmente de entre los muertos al tercer día en victoria sobre el pecado, la muerte, el infierno y la tumba. Entonces tú debes recibirle como tu Salvador e invocar su Nombre para salvarte. Hay una oración al final de este estudio que puedes usar para ser salvado.

Los católicos romanos y muchos “cristianos” religiosos ignorarán lo que acabo de decir y pensarán,

“He sido bautizado, soy miembro de la iglesia, rezo a los ídolos de María y a los santos, rezo el “Ave María” todos los días, hago buenas obras todos los días, así que probablemente estaré bien en el Juicio”.

¡EQUIVOCADO! ¡Tienes religión, pero no tienes a Jesús! Nada de lo que sigue en este estudio se aplica a ti, porque aún no conoce a Jesucristo como tu Salvador. Si no te arrepientes de tu religión falsa y de tus pecados, te sumergirás en el infierno cuando mueras, y nunca más habrá esperanza para ti.

Afortunadamente, mientras estés vivo, ¡todavía hay esperanza para ti seas salvado! Por favor lea la invitación ser salvado al final de este estudio y haz la oración del pecador para recibir a Cristo como su Salvador personal, para que pueda conocer verdaderamente a Dios y tener Vida Eterna, AHORA MISMO. Lo opuesto “Porque digo, a través de la gracia que me ha sido dada, a todo hombre que está entre ustedes, no pensar de él mismo más alto de lo que él debería pensar; pero para pensar sobriamente, conforme a como Dios ha distribuido a cada hombre la medida de la fe.

Lo opuesto “Porque como tenemos muchas partes en un cuerpo, y todas las partes no tienen la misma función: así nosotros, siendo muchos, somos uno cuerpo en Cristo; e individualmente, somos partes uno del otro”.

Comentarios: Pero si habéis nacido de nuevo, entonces esto es solo el principio! Ahora que has sido salvado (si eso es cierto), tienes una nueva vida en Jesucristo como su hijo redimido de Dios, y tienes una nueva relación con Él que no tenías antes.

El tema de este párrafo (que es el comienzo de todo lo demás en este capítulo) es acerca de someternos nosotros mismos a Dios diariamente, como un sacrificio vivo. Si cada creyente en Cristo hiciera esto, habría mucho menos conflicto y divisiones en las iglesias locales de las que hay, como Pablo analiza más adelante en el capítulo.

Cómo saber la voluntad general de Dios para cada creyente en Jesucristo

¡Es difícil someterse ti mismo a Dios diariamente! Pero debería ser una de las primeras oraciones en nuestros labios cada mañana antes de levantarnos de la cama, porque es razonable que vivamos cada día para Cristo, ¡que tanto ha hecho por nosotros!

2 Corintios 5:14-15: “Porque el amor de Cristo nos obliga; porque juzgamos esto, que si uno murió por todos, entonces todos estaban espiritualmente muertos; y que él murió por todos, que los que viven, ya no vivan para sí, sino para Aquél que murió y resucitó por ellos”.

Y Jesús nos dio ejemplo a todos con su propia vida en la Tierra:

Mateo 16:24: “Entonces Jesús dijo a sus discípulos, ‘Si alguno quiere venir en pos de mí, déjalo negarse a sí mismo, tome su cruz, y sígame’”

Mateo 26:39: “Y fue un poco más lejos, y se postró sobre su rostro, y oró, diciendo, ‘Oh mi padre, si es posible, que esta copa pasar desde mí; sin embargo, no como yo quiero, sino como tú quieras’”.

Romanos 12:1-2: “Por tanto, yo os exhorto, hermanos, por las misericordias de Dios, que presentéis vuestros cuerpos como un sacrificio vivo: santo y aceptable para Dios, cual es vuestro servicio razonable. Y no os conforméis a este edad; sino sé transformado por la renovación de vuestra mente, para que puedas discernir cuál es esa buena, aceptable y perfecta voluntad de Dios”.

¡Los creyentes nacidos de nuevo en Jesucristo tienen el Espíritu Santo morando dentro de nosotros! Debemos conformarnos con Jesús nuestro Salvador, quien habita en nuestros corazones a través del Espíritu Santo.

Colosenses 1:27: “a quienes Dios quiso dar a conocer las riquezas de la gloria de este misterio entre los gentiles: cual es Cristo en ustedes, la esperanza de gloria.”

Y cuando presentamos nuestros cuerpos como sacrificio vivo a Jesús nuestro Salvador, entonces somos transformados a la imagen de Jesucristo, poco a poco, la hora a la hora, el día al día, el mes al mes y el año al año. Esto es lo que Pablo quiso decir con

“sé transformado por la renovación de vuestra mente”.

Renovamos nuestra mente cuando por primera vez confesamos y nos arrepentimos de nuestros pecados al Señor Jesús diariamente, para vaciar la basura del mundo que tenemos que enfrentar todos los días en el trabajo, y tal vez incluso en casa; y luego, en segundo lugar, cuando leemos la Biblia, llenar nuestra mente con su preciosa Palabra.

Estas actividades diarias transformarán nuestros corazones y mentes a la imagen de Jesucristo durante un largo período de tiempo. La transformación para caminar y hablar como Jesús requiere toda una vida de sumisión y obediencia al Espíritu Santo y la Palabra de Dios.

“sino sé transformado por la renovación de vuestra mente, PARA QUE puedas discernir cuál es esa buena, aceptable y perfecta voluntad de Dios”.

¡Así es también como podemos discernir la buena, aceptable y perfecta voluntad de Dios! De hecho, es la ÚNICA MANERA de discernir la voluntad de Dios para nuestra vida.

Si llenas tu mente con la basura del mundo en lugar de su Palabra, ¡no te sorprendas cuando te cueste discernir la voluntad de Dios! Si quieres conocer la voluntad de Dios, debes leer diariamente su Palabra para poder conocer sus pensamientos, porque su Palabra es la mente de Dios, la mente de Cristo:

Isaiah 55:8-11: “‘Porque mis pensamientos no son vuestros pensamientos, tampoco son vuestros caminos mis caminos,’ dice Jehová. ‘Porque como son más altos los cielos que la tierra, así son mis caminos más altos que vuestros caminos, y mis pensamientos más altos que vuestros pensamientos. Porque como la lluvia y la nieve desciende desde los cielos, y no vuelve allá, sino ello riega la tierra, y la hace germinar y producir, que ello puede dar semilla al sembrador y pan al que come, así será mi Palabra que sale de mi boca: no volverá a mí vacía, sino que logrará lo que yo quiero, y prosperará en aquello a lo que la envié’”.

1 Corintios 2:9-11, 16: “Pero como está escrito, “El ojo no vio, ni el oído oyó; ni ha entrado en el corazón del hombre las cosas que Dios ha preparado para los que le aman”. Pero Dios nos las ha revelado por su Espíritu Santo: porque el Espíritu todo lo escudriña, aun lo profundo de Dios. Porque ¿quién conoce las cosas ocultas del hombre, sino el espíritu del hombre que está en él? Así tampoco nadie conoce las cosas ocultas de Dios, sino el Espíritu de Dios....Pero tenemos la mente de Cristo’.

Cómo conocer la voluntad personal de Dios para TI

Leer la Biblia es muy importante; PERO, si solo lees la Biblia, pero no sometes tu cuerpo a obedecer a Jesucristo tu Salvador, solo conocerás la voluntad de Dios que ha sido revelada por las Escrituras. Aquí están algunos ejemplos:

1 Tesalonicenses 4:3: “porque ésta es la voluntad de Dios, incluso vuestra santificación; que os abstengáis de fornicación;

1 Tesalonicenses 5:18: “En todo, dad gracias: porque esta es la voluntad de Dios en Cristo Jesús concerniente a ustedes”.

1 Pedro 2:15: “porque esta es la voluntad de Dios, que por hacer el bien, ustedes podáis silenciar la ignorancia de los hombres tontos”.

Pero, ¿qué pasa si quieres saber la voluntad de Dios sobre alguien con quien estás saliendo? ¿O alguien con quien quieras salir?

La Biblia nos da principios para una esposa piadosa

1 Pedro 3:1-4: “Igualmente, ustedes esposas, estar en sujeción a vuestros propios maridos; para que, si cualquier marido no obedece la Palabra de Dios, pueden también sin la palabra ser ganados a Cristo por la conducta de las esposas, mientras observan tu conducta pura en el miedo. De las cuales, no dejes que sea el adorno exterior del trenzar el cabello, y luciendo adornos de oro, o el uso de ropa mundana; sino más bien, déjalo ser el hombre oculto del corazón, en aquello que no es corruptible, incluso el adorno de un espíritu manso y tranquilo, lo cual es de gran valor ante los ojos de Dios”.

En otras palabras, una mujer piadosa debe centrarse más en ser conformada al Señor Jesús en su corazón, en lugar de conformarse al mundo y a la cultura y moda modernas.

La Biblia también proporciona principios para un esposo piadoso

Pablo instruyó a Timoteo, que era pastor de una iglesia:

1 Timoteo 4:12: “Que nadie desprecie tu juventud; sino sé ejemplo de los creyentes: en la palabra, en la conducta, en el amor desinteresado, en el espíritu, en la fe y en la pureza sexual”.

¡Así que el pastor debe ser un ejemplo de lo que debe ser un cristiano! Y si eres una mujer cristiana, ¿no quieres que tu marido sea todo lo que un cristiano debería ser? ¡Por supuesto que sí! Y aquí hay más instrucciones de la Biblia sobre lo que debe ser un hombre cristiano:

1 Timoteo 3:2-4: “Un supervisor entonces debe ser irreprochable, marido de una sola esposa, vigilante, sobrio, de buen comportamiento, dado a la hospitalidad, capaz de enseñar; no al lado de cualquier vino, ni irascible, ni codicioso de ganancias deshonestas, sino paciente; no un luchador; ni codicioso; uno que gobierna bien su casa, teniendo a sus hijos en sujeción con toda gravedad”.

Imagínese si cada familia cristiana fuera dirigida por un hombre y una mujer que amaran al Señor Jesús con todo su corazón; ¡e hicieron todas las cosas que la Biblia dice que debían hacer!

Estos son estándares a los que Dios quiere que aspiremos. Incluso si fuéramos salvados de una mala vida, como las drogas, el alcohol o incluso la prostitución, Dios puede cambiarnos de adentro hacia afuera por su gracia, y puede convertir el carbón en diamantes para su gloria. ¡Amén!

¿Cómo podemos conocer la voluntad de Dios sobre cosas de las que la Biblia no dice nada?

Ahora, la Biblia nos da ejemplos específicos de la voluntad de Dios y se nos dan principios para vivir piadosamente; sin embargo, eso no nos ayuda cuando necesitamos saber:

“Señor Jesús, estoy muy interesado en esta persona; pero no estoy seguro si esta relación es tu voluntad o no. Por favor muéstrame qué debo hacer con esta persona. ¿Romper o seguir saliendo?

“¿Debería salir con esta persona o no?”

“¿Debería casarme con esta persona o no?”

Y hay otras áreas de la vida en las que también necesitamos respuestas de Dios:

“Señor, necesito un trabajo, por favor ayúdame a encontrar un trabajo que me permita mantenerme a mí y a mi familia”.

“Señor, guíame al trabajo en el que quieres que trabaje”.

“Señor, perdí las llaves de mi casa; por favor ayúdame a encontrarlos”.

“Señor, mi compañero de trabajo me está dando problemas; muéstrame qué debo hacer en esta situación”.

“Señor, mi auto se ha averiado; ayúdenme a repararlo, porque no tengo dinero para arreglarlo”.

“Señor, hice una estupidez y ahora mi cónyuge está enojado conmigo; Por favor ayúdame a reparar nuestro matrimonio.

“Señor, mi hijo/hija es rebelde y no sé que hacer al respecto. Por favor, muéstrame qué hacer con esta situación”.

Ahora bien, en algunas de estas situaciones podemos encontrar principios de la Biblia que nos ayudarán a resolver el problema. ¡Pero no siempre!

En esas situaciones, asumiendo que verdaderamente has nacido de nuevo, entonces tienes acceso directo al salón del trono de Dios; y Dios puede hablar a tu corazón. ¡NO en voz audible! No, sino a tu corazón de tal manera que sabrás que hacer, porque tu corazón y tu mente están llenan de la Palabra de Dios y del Espíritu Santo de Dios.

¿Cómo haces eso?

Proverbios 3:5-6: “Confía en Jehová con todo tu corazón, y no apoyes en tu propia comprensión. En todos tus caminos, reconócele [como Señor]; y él dirigirá tus caminos”.

¡Y PERMANECE sobre en rostro en oración hasta que obtengas una respuesta de Dios! Amén. Esto no es fácil, pero un creyente maduro y disciplinado en Jesucristo sabe que a veces debemos “orar a través de”; lo que significa que seguimos orando hasta que Dios responda desde el Cielo! Amén.

Podemos parar y ocuparnos de tareas necesarias en el hogar o incluso ir a trabajar; Después de terminar el trabajo y las tareas domésticas, comienza a orar nuevamente hasta que el Cielo descienda y la gloria llene tu alma. Amén.

Conclusión

1) Lee la Biblia diariamente, para que tu corazón y tu mente se llenen de su Palabra; esto te ayudará a conocer la voluntad de Dios para todos los creyentes. Salmo 1:1-4: “Bienaventurado es el varón que no anda en consejo del impío, ni se pone de pie en camino de pecadores, ni se sienta en silla de escarnecedores. Pero en la Ley de Jehová es su delicia; y en su Ley medita de día y de noche. Y él será como árbol plantado junto a los ríos de agua, cual da su fruto en su temporada. Y su hoja no se marchitará, y todo lo que él hace prosperará”.

Efesios 5:17-21: “Por tanto, no seáis insensatos, sino entendiendo cual es la voluntad del Señor. Y no emborrachéis con vino (en el que hay exceso), sino estad continuamente lleno del Espíritu; hablando a ustedes mismos en Salmos, himnos y canciones espirituales, cantando y haciendo melodía en su corazón al Señor; dando gracias siempre por todo a Dios y al Padre en el Nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo: sometiendo ustedes mismos uno al otro en el temor de Dios”.

2) Cuando tu corazón y tu mente estén llenas de su Palabra, esto te ayudará a crecer espiritualmente; lo que le permitirá aprender a seguir y obedecer al Señor Jesús de manera más efectiva.

1 Pedro 2:1-3: “Por tanto, desechando toda malicia, y todo engaño, e hipocresía, y envidia, y todas las malas palabras, como niños recién nacidos, desead la leche pura de la Palabra, para que por ella crezcáis (si en verdad si habéis probado que el Señor fuera clemente)”.

3) Ora y somete tu cuerpo a Dios diariamente en todas las cosas, para que conozcas la voluntad de Dios para TI. Amén.

Proverbios 3:5-6: “Confía en Jehová con todo tu corazón, y no apoyes en tu propia comprensión. En todos tus caminos, reconócele [como Senor]; y él dirigirá tus caminos”.

Examinaremos lo que dice la Biblia acerca de la voluntad de Dios para el matrimonio en el próximo estudio.

Como Ser Salvado

¡Un pecador no puede presentar su cuerpo como sacrificio a Dios en verdad, porque está en rebelión contra Dios! HÉl o ella nunca se ha arrepentido de sus pecados ni ha recibido a Jesucristo como su Salvador personal; por lo tanto, ¡están en desobediencia al mandato del Evangelio de Cristo de ARREPENTIRSE!

Sí, hay muchas personas religiosas, como los católicos romanos, los mormones, los testigos de Jehová, los musulmanes, los hindúes, los budistas, los sintoístas, los taoístas y miles de otras sectas; y

lamentablemente, ¡hay incluso muchos protestantes y bautistas que nunca han nacido de nuevo! Van a la iglesia, cantan en el coro, han sido bautizados, e incluso han memorizado la Biblia, el Corán y las historias del Bhagavad Gita.

Pero nunca se han arrepentido de sus pecados y nunca han puesto toda su esperanza en el Cielo en la expiación terminada de Jesucristo en la cruz. Ellos han intentado todo excepto EXCEPTO Jesucristo y Él solo.

Juan 14:6: “Jesús le dijo, ‘Soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida; nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí’”.

Mateo 7:21-23: “No todo el que me dice, ‘Señor, Señor’, entrará en el Reino del Cielo; sino el que hace la voluntad de mi Padre quien está en el Cielo. Muchos me dirán en aquel día, diciendo: ‘Señor, Señor, ¿no hemos profetizado en tu Nombre? Y en tu Nombre, ¿no hemos echado fuera demonios? Y en tu Nombre, ¿no hemos hecho muchas obras maravillosas?’. Y entonces yo profesaré a ellos, ‘Nunca os conocí; apartaos de mí, obradores de maldad’”.

¿Quieres ser salvado y SABER que cuando mueras, inmediatamente entrarás al Cielo?

¿Crees que Jesucristo es el Hijo de Dios que nació de una virgen, vivió una vida sin pecado y murió en la cruz para expiar tus pecados? ¿Y que fue sepultado y que Jesús resucitó de entre los muertos al tercer día?

La Biblia dice que si creemos estas cosas, podemos ser salvados, si nos arrepentimos de nuestros pecados y recibimos a Jesucristo como nuestro Salvador personal:

Romanos 10:8-13: “Pero ¿qué dice? “La Palabra está cerca de ti, incluso en tu boca y en tu corazón”, es decir, la Palabra de fe (que predicamos), que si confesarás con tu boca al Señor Jesús, y creerás en tu corazón que Dios le levantó de los muertos, tú serás salvado: porque con el corazón, el hombre cree para justicia, y con la boca, la confesión se hace para la salvación: porque la Escritura dice, “cualquiera que en él creyere, no será avergonzado”. Porque no hay diferencia entre el judio y el gentil: porque el mismo Señor sobre todo es rico a todos los que le invocan: porque está escrito, “Cualquiera que llamará sobre el Nombre del Señor será salvado”.

¿Estás listo para hacer eso? Si es así, entonces busca un lugar para orar en privado y haz esta oración con todo tu corazón al Señor Jesucristo:

“Señor Jesús, sé que he pecado contra USTED. ¡No soy bueno y usted eres justo! Creo que moriste en la cruz por mis pecados, fuiste enterrado y resucitaste de entre los muertos al tercer día. Quiero que vengas a mi vida y seas mi Señor y Salvador. Por favor entra en mi corazón ahora mismo. Perdóname por todos mis pecados y salva mi alma. En el poderoso Nombre de Jesús, oro, ¡Amén!”
