Romans, Chapter 2.3: The daily sanctification of believers through the Holy Spirit (6:1 - 8:39)

§Unique Introduction: Yield your bodies in obedience to God to have victory over sin (6:1 - 23)

¶Opposite After salvation, yield your bodies to be baptized by immersion, to walk in the likeness of his resurrection (6:1 - 7)

¶Opposite After baptism, yield your bodies to God every day to have continued victory over sin (6:8 - 23)

§Complement Body: The Holy Spirit gives life and peace to the believer and guarantees his resurrection to Eternal Life (7:1 - 8:27)

Introduction

Now that we have covered most of the big theological issues around the Holy Spirit in previous studies, we can move forward in our study of the Letter to the Romans!

First of all, I want you to notice the Golden Ratio design of the next three paragraphs. You can see in the outline above that the Body section has an internal design of two opposites, two complements, and one unique. Since this part of the chapter is relatively simple, I will use this opportunity to explain the Golden Ratio design for those who do not yet understand it.

The themes of these paragraphs show clearly that the first two paragraphs oppose each other in their themes. A review of the internal sub-paragraphs within each paragraph will show that they go in opposite directions to each other: UCC-OO vs OO-CCU (or, one unique, two complements, and two opposites in the first; and the reverse design in the second).

¶Opposite Believers are married to Jesus Christ and divorced from the Law of Moses, so that we might bring forth fruit unto God (7:1 - 12)

¶Opposite Bring your thoughts into captivity to Jesus Christ to be victorious over temptation (7:7 - 25)

The next two paragraphs are very similar to each other, like two sides of the same coin, while the theme of the fifth paragraph is unique, compared to the other four paragraphs. The unique has much in common with the two complements (in the Body section), but it stands alone in many ways.

¶Complement The Holy Spirit of God brings life and peace to the Believer who walks in obedience to Him instead of the flesh (8:1 - 9a)

¶Complement The Holy Spirit of Christ dwells in the body of the Believer in Jesus Christ to give Eternal Life before and after death (8:9b - 13)

¶Unique The physical creation of God and Believers groan in pain because of sin, waiting for the redemption of our body (8:14 - 23)

The sub-paragraph design in the two complements is the same: UCC-OO, UCC-OO.

But the last paragraph is unique, and has the opposite design to the two complements: OO-CCU.

So here is the full Golden Ratio design in the Body section using the shorthand notation: UCC-OO/OO-CCU. You can see these sub-paragraphs in the rest of the study below.

There is a clear break in the section between the "OO" and the "CCU". This is a standard feature of the Golden Ratio design arrangement.

Amazing, isn’t it? This is real! I have demonstrated over hundreds of Bible studies that I published on my website and on Facebook over the last ten years that the Golden Ratio design is found from cover to cover in the Holy Bible. The Kingdom Study Bible in English (KSB) and the Spanish version, El Reino Estudio Biblia (REB) are the only Bible versions in history to show the Golden Ratio design. If you are not familiar with the background of the Golden Ratio design of the Bible, please read the Appendix to the Kingdom Study Bible that is at the end of the PDF version. I have provided a good summary of what it means and why it is Biblical.

Now I will demonstrate the Golden Ratio design in the CCU part of the Body section; and also I will use the Golden Ratio design to help explain the meaning of these texts.

Recall from previous studies in this chapter that Romans 7:1-12 shows that born-again believers in Jesus Christ are married to Jesus Christ; and therefore, we are dead to the Law of Moses (not under the Law of Moses at all)! And that includes observing the Sabbath day (Saturday), offering animal sacrifices, the priesthood of Aaron, the Temple of Jehovah, the feast days of Passover, Pentecost, Tabernacles, and the Day of Atonement. All of those things were replaced by the Finished Work of Christ on the cross! Amen.

Also in Romans 7:13-25, Paul showed us that we must bring our thoughts into captivity to Jesus Christ to be victorious over temptations to sin.

This means that we must surrender our bodies and our minds to the Lord Jesus in every part of our life, and allow Him to live in and through us in every way; otherwise, we will always be defeated by the world, the flesh and the devil! Amen. There is no other way.

Unique “Therefore, there is now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit: for the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the Law of sin and death: for what the Law of Moses could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh: God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh, so that the righteousness of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Complement “For they that walk according to the flesh think about the things of the flesh; but they that walk according to the Spirit think about the things of the Spirit. For having a carnal mind is death; but having a spiritual mind is life and peace.

Complement “Because the fleshly mind is hatred against God: for it is not subject to the Law of God; neither indeed can it be.”

Opposite “So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Opposite “But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if it is true that the Spirit of God dwells in you.”

Comments: The theme of this paragraph is about the Holy Spirit of God. He will bring life and peace to the believer who walks in obedience to Him instead of the flesh.

Romans 8:1-4: “Therefore, there is now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit: for the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the Law of sin and death: for what the Law of Moses could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh: God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh, so that the righteousness of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”

Because of the Finished Work of Christ on the cross for our sins, we already have the victory over all sins!

Romans 8:5-6: “For they that walk according to the flesh think about the things of the flesh; but they that walk according to the Spirit think about the things of the Spirit. For having a carnal mind is death; but having a spiritual mind is life and peace.”

If you spend your time focused on the things of the world, the music of the world, the evils in this world, then you will have a carnal mind with no victory over sin.

Romans 8:7: “Because the fleshly mind is hatred against God: for it is not subject to the Law of God; neither indeed can it be.”

If a born again Christian refuses to live for God each day, and their mind is constantly filled with the things of the world instead of the things of God, then it just shows that they do not love God! Amen. And if believers don’t love God, then God can’t bless them or use them in His work. Living for God takes real work and effort; It doesn’t happen automatically!

A sinner cannot live for God, because they do not know God through Christ! They are enemies of God, even though Jesus died on the cross to give them Eternal Life, if they repent and turn to Him to be saved.

The reality is that it is impossible not to have to focus on the things of the world at least part of the day, because we have jobs, we have families, children, we have to go shopping etc. We cannot spend all day reading the Bible or praying! That cannot happen in the real world that we live in.

But if you spend at least part of your day focused on the things of the Holy Spirit: the Word of God, prayer to God, submission to the will of God in every part of your life: then you will have life and peace in your soul and spirit.

We need a “quiet time” with God each day! This is a time that is devoted exclusively to the Lord Jesus Christ every day: reading his Word for spiritual food, praying to Him to ask for others; and to ask for his wisdom, his discernment, and the filling of the Holy Spirit to carry us through our day.

Before you get out of bed in the morning, take at least 20 to 30 minutes (or more) to bring your mind and soul into agreement with your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Follow that up with some Bible reading, and then the spiritual food and power of the Holy Spirit will carry you through your day! Amen.

Romans 8:8: “So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.”

A sinner (“they that are in the flesh”) cannot please God, no matter what kind of religious exercises they do.

Romans 8:9: “But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if it is true that the Spirit of God dwells in you.”

If a born again believer in Christ attempts to go through the day without any Bible reading or prayer, this does not please the Lord! We are “in the Spirit” if we have been born again through repentance and faith in the Finished Work of Jesus Christ on the cross; but we must also “walk according to the Spirit” to have continuous victory over sin in our life.

¶Complement The Holy Spirit dwells in the body of the Believer in Jesus Christ to guarantee his resurrection to Eternal Life (8:9b - 13)

Unique “Now if any man does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not one of his children.

Complement “And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is Life because of righteousness.

Complement “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you.”

Opposite “Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, but not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh: for if you live according to the flesh, you shall die;

Opposite “but if, through the Spirit, you are constantly mortifying the deeds of the body, you shall live.”

Romans 8:9b: “Now if any man does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not one of his children.”

Comments: You cannot be saved, and not have the Holy Spirit dwelling within you! You cannot have the Holy Spirit dwelling within you, and not be saved!

Romans 8:10: “And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is Life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you.”

Comments: The Holy Spirit that dwells in our body (if we are born again) gives us Eternal Life; and the gift of the Holy Spirit to dwell in our body is the guarantee of God that we will be resurrected to Eternal Life after death by that same Holy Spirit! Amen.

¶Unique The Holy Spirit helps the Believer to pray in spite of his infirmities (8:14 - 27)

Opposite “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God: for you have not received the spirit of slavery again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, “Papa, Father!” The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God; and if we are children, then we are heirs: heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ (if it is true that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together).

Opposite “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us: for the earnest expectation of the creation waits for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creation was made subject to vanity: not of its own will, but by reason of him who has subjected the same in hope, because the creation itself also shall be delivered from the slavery of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now; and not only the creation, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, namely, the redemption of our body.”

Complement “For we were saved in hope; but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man sees, why does he still hope for it?

Complement “But if we hope for that which we do not see, then do we with patience wait for it.

Unique “Likewise, the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we do not know what we should pray for as we should; but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because he makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”

Romans 8:14-17: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God: for you have not received the spirit of slavery again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, “Papa, Father!” The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God; and if we are children, then we are heirs: heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ (if it is true that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together).”

Comments: When a person repents of their sins and receives Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, their life is completely changed forever! The Holy Spirit comes into their body, and they enter into a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

And from that moment forward in our life, we KNOW that we are saved, because the Holy Spirit witnesses with our spirit that we are his children.

Before I was saved in 1982, I was a sailor in the US Navy. Cursing and profanity were so common in my life (and almost everyone else in the Navy as well) that we didn’t even think about it. The filthy words flowed like water from our lips in an almost constant stream.

But after I repented of my sins and prayed to receive Jesus Christ as my personal Savior, I was born again! And a few minutes later, I went back to my crew complex where all my shipmates were living on the ship; and I began cursing and swearing as I had done before, because it was a bad habit.

But, to my complete surprise, I felt something in my life that I had never experienced before! I felt like a ton of bricks had fallen on my head! So I asked the Christian who had led me to Jesus to be saved: “What happened?” And he replied that I had sinned, and so I needed to repent and get right with God.

So I found a place to be alone, and I began praying, repenting, and getting things right with God. And after I rose up from that time of prayer, I KNEW that I was saved! Hallelujah, AMEN.

I knew that something very important had changed in my life. I knew that I needed to learn more about God and the Bible, and I began reading the Bible regularly after that. Later on, God called me into the ministry; I went to Bible college, and the rest is history.

When a sinner receives Christ as their Savior, their life is completely changed! Amen. Not everyone is called to be a preacher; but every believer is called to serve the Lord in some way.

Romans 8:18-23: “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us: for the earnest expectation of the creation waits for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creation was made subject to vanity: not of its own will, but by reason of him who has subjected the same in hope, because the creation itself also shall be delivered from the slavery of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now; and not only the creation, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, namely, the redemption of our body.”

This universe is groaning in pain that was caused by the first sin of Adam in Genesis. The creation was made without sin in the beginning; God called it “good”.

Genesis 1:31: “And God saw everything that he had made; and, behold, it was very good.”

But after Adam sinned against God for the first time, he brought a curse upon the Creation of God:

Genesis 3:17-18: “And he said to Adam, “Because you have obeyed the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’, cursed is the ground for your sake; in sorrow shall you eat of it all the days of your life; thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to you; and you shall eat the herb of the field.”

Earthquakes, disease, plagues, “natural” disasters, wars: all these things have come into the human race because of the first sin of Adam. And they will continue to destroy and corrupt this world until the end of the Millennial Kingdom, when everything in this Universe will be consumed with fire: all of the atoms will be torn apart, and God will remake the Universe into the New Heaven and the New Earth, in which will dwell righteousness forevermore, Amen.

2 Peter 3:10-13: “But the Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night: in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with intense heat, the earth also and the works that are in it shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in all holy conduct and godliness; looking for and hastening to the coming of the Day of God; in which the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with intense heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth; in which dwells righteousness.”

Complement “For we were saved in hope; but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man sees, why does he still hope for it?

Complement “But if we hope for that which we do not see, then do we with patience wait for it.

Comments: Trials and tribulations are an integral part of the evil world that we live in, amen? We cannot escape those things until we go to be with the Lord.

But while we are here on this Earth, we have the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit to help us, to comfort us, and to give us his power and strength to prevail against our spiritual enemies: Satan and his demons; and also to give us the power to resist sin and temptation from the world and the flesh.

The Holy Spirit is able to help our infirmities, because He is God and knows everything about us! When we pray, the Holy Spirit helps us to pray for the things that we need to pray for, if we stay in prayer long enough to gain the mind of the Lord. And the Holy Spirit even prays for us, according to the will of God! Amen.

How to be saved!

Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was born of a virgin; He lived a sinless life, and He gave his life on the cross to atone for all of our sins, and He rose again from the dead on the third day.

The Bible says that if we believe these things, we can be saved, if we repent of our sins and receive Jesus Christ as our personal Savior:

Romans 10:8-13: “But what does it say? “The Word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart”; that is to say, the Word of faith (which we preach), that if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved: for with the heart, man believes into righteousness; and with the mouth, confession is made into salvation: for the Scripture says, “Whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.” For there is no difference between the Jew and the Gentile: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him: for it is written, “whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.”

If you are ready to be saved, then you can use the following prayer to repent and receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior:

“Lord Jesus, I know that I have sinned against YOU. I am no good, and you are righteous! You are my only hope for salvation! I believe that you died on the cross for my sins, you were buried, and you rose again from the dead on the third day. I want you to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart right now. Forgive me for all my sins, and save my soul. In the mighty Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen!”

Introducción

Ahora demostraré el diseño de la proporción áurea en la parte CCU de la sección Cuerpo; y también usaré el diseño de la Proporción Áurea para ayudar a explicar el significado de estos textos.

Recuerde de estudios anteriores en este capítulo que Romanos 7:1-12 muestra que los creyentes nacidos de nuevo en Jesucristo están casados con Jesucristo; y por lo tanto, ¡estamos muertos a la Ley de Moisés (en absoluto bajo la Ley de Moisés)! Y eso incluye observar el día de reposo (sábado), ofrecer sacrificios de animales, el sacerdocio de Aarón, el Templo de Jehová, las fiestas de la Pascua, Pentecostés, los Tabernáculos y el Día de la Expiación. ¡Todas esas cosas fueron reemplazadas por la Obra terminada de Cristo sobre la cruz! Amén.

También en Romanos 7:13-25, Pablo nos mostró que debemos llevar nuestros pensamientos cautivos a Jesucristo para ser victoriosos sobre las tentaciones de pecar.

Esto significa que debemos entregar nuestro cuerpo y nuestra mente al Señor Jesús en cada aspecto de nuestra vida, y permitirle vivir en nosotros y a través de nosotros en todos los sentidos; de lo contrario, ¡siempre seremos derrotados por el mundo, la carne y el diablo! Amén. No hay otra manera.

Único “Por lo tanto, ahora no hay condenación para los que están en Cristo Jesús, quien no andan conforme a la carne, sino según el espíritu:porque la Ley del Espíritu de vida en Cristo Jesús me ha hecho libre desde la Ley del pecado y de la muerte: porque, lo que la Ley de Moisés no podía hacer, en que ello era débil a través de la carne: Dios, enviando a su Hijo en la semejanza de la carne pecaminosa y para el pecado, condenó el pecado en la carne; para que la justicia de la Ley podría cumplirse en nosotros, quien no caminamos según la carne, sino según el Espíritu.

El complemento “Porque los que andan conforme a la carne, piensan acerca de las cosas de la carne; pero los que andan conforme el Espíritu, piensan acerca de las cosas del Espíritu. Porque tener una mente carnal es la muerte, pero tener una mente espiritual es vida y paz.

El complemento “Porque la mente carnal es la odio contra Dios: porque no se sujeta a la Ley de Dios, ni tampoco puede”.

Lo opuesto “Así entonces, los que están en la carne no pueden agradar a Dios.

Lo opuesto “Pero ustedes no estáis en la carne, sino en el Espíritu, si es verdad que el Espíritu de Dios mora en ustedes”.

Comentarios: El tema de este párrafo es sobre el Espíritu Santo de Dios. Él traerá vida y paz al creyente que camina en obediencia a Él en lugar de a la carne.

Romanos 8:1-4: “Por lo tanto, ahora no hay condenación para los que están en Cristo Jesús, quien no andan conforme a la carne, sino según el espíritu:porque la Ley del Espíritu de vida en Cristo Jesús me ha hecho libre desde la Ley del pecado y de la muerte: porque, lo que la Ley de Moisés no podía hacer, en que ello era débil a través de la carne: Dios, enviando a su Hijo en la semejanza de la carne pecaminosa y para el pecado, condenó el pecado en la carne; para que la justicia de la Ley podría cumplirse en nosotros, quien no caminamos según la carne, sino según el Espíritu”.

Gracias a la Obra Terminada de Cristo en la cruz por nuestros pecados, ¡ya tenemos la victoria sobre todos los pecados!

Romanos 8:5-6: “Porque los que andan conforme a la carne, piensan acerca de las cosas de la carne; pero los que andan conforme el Espíritu, piensan acerca de las cosas del Espíritu. Porque tener una mente carnal es la muerte, pero tener una mente espiritual es vida y paz”.

Si pasas tu tiempo enfocado en las cosas del mundo, la música del mundo, los males de este mundo, entonces tendrás una mente carnal sin victoria sobre el pecado.

Romanos 8:7: “Porque la mente carnal es la odio contra Dios: porque no se sujeta a la Ley de Dios, ni tampoco puede”.

Si un cristiano nacido de nuevo se niega a vivir para Dios cada día, y su mente está constantemente llena de las cosas del mundo en lugar de las cosas de Dios, ¡Entonces simplemente demuestra que ellos no aman a Dios! Amén. Y si los creyentes no aman a Dios, entonces Dios no puede bendecirlos ni usarlos en su obra. Vivir para Dios requiere trabajo y esfuerzo real; ¡No sucede automáticamente!

¡Un pecador no puede vivir para Dios porque no conoce a Dios a través de Cristo! Son enemigos de Dios, aunque Jesús murió sobre la cruz para darles Vida Eterna, si se arrepienten y se vuelven a Él para ser salvados.

La realidad es que es imposible no tener que centrarnos en las cosas del mundo al menos parte del día, porque tenemos trabajo, tenemos familias, hijos, tenemos que ir de compras etc. ¡No podemos pasar todo el día leyendo la Biblia u orando! Eso no puede suceder en el mundo real en el que vivimos.

Pero si pasas al menos parte de tu día enfocado en las cosas del Espíritu Santo: la Palabra de Dios, la oración a Dios, la sumisión a la voluntad de Dios en cada aspecto de tu vida: entonces tendrás vida y paz en tu alma y espíritu.

¡Necesitamos “un tiempo de tranquilidad” con Dios cada día! Éste es un tiempo que se dedica exclusivamente al Señor Jesucristo todos los días: leer su Palabra para alimento espiritual, orarle para pedir otros; y pedir su sabiduría, su discernimiento y la llenura del Espíritu Santo para llevarnos a lo largo de nuestro día.

Antes de levantarte de la cama por la mañana, tómate al menos 20 a 30 minutos (o más) para poner tu mente y alma en acuerdo con tu Señor y Salvador Jesucristo. Continúe con alguna lectura de la Biblia, ¡y luego el alimento espiritual y el poder del Espíritu Santo lo llevarán a lo largo del día! Amén.

Romanos 8:8: “Así entonces, los que están en la carne no pueden agradar a Dios”.

Un pecador (“los que son de la carne”) no puede agradar a Dios, no importa qué tipo de ejercicios religiosos que ellos hacen.

Romanos 8:9: “Pero ustedes no estáis en la carne, sino en el Espíritu, si es verdad que el Espíritu de Dios mora en ustedes”.

Si un creyente en Cristo nacido de nuevo intenta pasar el día sin leer la Biblia ni orar, ¡esto no agrada al Señor! Estamos “en el Espíritu” si hemos nacido de nuevo mediante el arrepentimiento y la fe en la Obra Consumada de Jesucristo en la cruz; pero también debemos “andar según el Espíritu” para tener victoria continua sobre el pecado en nuestra vida.

¶El complemento El Espíritu Santo habita en el cuerpo del Creyente en Jesucristo para garantizar su resurrección a la Vida Eterna (8:9b - 13)

Único “Ahora bien, si alguno no tiene el Espíritu de Cristo, él no es uno de sus hijos.

El complemento “Y si Cristo está en ustedes, el cuerpo está muerto a causa del pecado, pero el Espíritu es Vida a causa de la justicia.

El complemento “Pero si el Espíritu de él quien resucitó a Jesús de entre los muertos habita en ustedes, él que levantó a Cristo desde los muertos también vivificará sus cuerpos mortales por su Espíritu que habita en ustedes”.

Lo opuesto “Por lo tanto, hermanos, somos deudores, pero no para la carne, para vivir según la carne: porque si vives según la carne, moriréis;

Lo opuesto “sino si, a través del Espíritu, estáis mortificando constantemente las obras de la carne, viviréis”.

Romanos 8:9b: “Ahora bien, si alguno no tiene el Espíritu de Cristo, él no es uno de sus hijos”.

Comentarios: ¡No puedes ser salvado y no tener el Espíritu Santo morando dentro de ti! ¡No puedes tener el Espíritu Santo morando dentro de ti y no ser salvado!

Romanos 8:10: “Y si Cristo está en ustedes, el cuerpo está muerto a causa del pecado, pero el Espíritu es Vida a causa de la justicia. Pero si el Espíritu de él quien resucitó a Jesús de entre los muertos habita en ustedes, él que levantó a Cristo desde los muertos también vivificará sus cuerpos mortales por su Espíritu que habita en ustedes”.

Comentarios: El Espíritu Santo que habita en nuestro cuerpo (si nacemos de nuevo) nos da Vida Eterna; ¡y el don del Espíritu Santo para morar en nuestro cuerpo es la garantía de Dios de que seremos resucitados a la Vida Eterna después de la muerte por ese mismo Espíritu Santo! Amén.

¶Único El Espíritu Santo ayuda al creyente a orar a pesar de sus debilidades (8:14 - 27)

Lo opuesto “Porque tantos como son guiados por el Espíritu de Dios, ellos son los hijos de dios: porque no habéis recibido el espíritu de servidumbre para estar otra vez en temor, sino habéis recibido el Espíritu de adopción, por el cual clamamos, “¡Abba Padre!”. El Espíritu mismo da testimonio a nuestro espíritu que somos los hijos de Dios; y si somos hijos, también somos herederos: herederos de Dios, y coherederos con Cristo (si es cierto que sufrimos con él, para que también podamos ser glorificados juntos).

Lo opuesto “Porque considero que los sufrimientos de este momento actual no son dignos ser comparados con la gloria que será revelada en nosotros: porque la ferviente expectativa de la creación espera por la manifestación de los hijos de Dios. Porque la creación fue sujetada a vanidad: no de su propia voluntad, sino por causa de Aquél quien ha sujetado lo mismo en esperanza, porque la creación misma también será entregada desde la esclavitud de la corrupción en a la gloriosa libertad de los hijos de Dios. Porque sabemos que toda la creación gime y se esfuerza en el dolor juntos hasta ahora; y no solo la creación, sino también a nosotros mismos, que tenemos las primicias del Espíritu, nosotros también gemimos dentro de nosotros mismos, esperando la adopción, esto es, la redención de nuestro cuerpo”.

El complemento “Porque en esperanza somos salvados; pero la esperanza que él vea no es esperanza; porque lo que el hombre ve, ¿por qué él todavía lo espera?

El complemento “Pero si esperamos aquello que no vemos, entonces esperamos a ello con paciencia.

Único “Asimismo, el Espíritu también nos ayuda a nuestras debilidades: porque no sabemos por lo que debemos orar como debemos; pero El Espíritu mismo hace intercesión por nosotros con gemidos que no pueden ser expresados. Y él que escudriña los corazones sabe cuál es la mente del Espíritu: porque él hace intercesión por los santos según la voluntad de Dios”.

Romanos 8:14-17: “Porque tantos como son guiados por el Espíritu de Dios, ellos son los hijos de dios: porque no habéis recibido el espíritu de servidumbre para estar otra vez en temor, sino habéis recibido el Espíritu de adopción, por el cual clamamos, “¡Abba Padre!”. Comentarios: Cuando una persona se arrepiente de sus pecados y recibe a Jesucristo como su Salvador personal, ¡su vida ha cambiado completamente para siempre! El Espíritu Santo entra en su cuerpo y ellos entran en una relación personal con el Señor Jesucristo. Y desde ese momento en adelante en nuestra vida, SABEMOS que somos salvados, porque el Espíritu Santo testifica con nuestro espíritu que somos sus hijos.

Antes de yo fui salvado en 1982, era marinero de la Marina de los Estados Unidos. Las malas palabras y las malas palabras eran tan comunes en mi vida (y en casi todos los demás en la Marina también) que ni siquiera pensábamos en ello. Las palabras obscenas fluían como agua de nuestros labios en un chorro casi constante.

Pero después de que me arrepentí de mis pecados y oré para recibir a Jesucristo como mi Salvador personal, ¡nací de nuevo! Y unos minutos más tarde, regresé al complejo de mi tripulación donde todos mis compañeros vivían en el barco; y comencé a maldecir y a jurar como lo había hecho antes, porque era mala costumbre.

Pero, para mi completa sorpresa, ¡sentí algo en mi vida que nunca antes había experimentado! ¡Sentí como si me hubieran caído una tonelada de ladrillos en la cabeza! Entonces le pregunté al cristiano que me había llevado a Jesús para ser salvado: “¿Qué pasó?” Y él respondió que había pecado y que por eso necesitaba arrepentirme y estar bien con Dios.

Entonces encontré un lugar para estar solo y comencé a orar, arrepentirme y hacer las cosas bien con Dios. Y después de que me levanté de ese momento de oración, ¡SABÍA que era salvado! Aleluya, AMÉN.

Sabía que algo muy importante había cambiado en mi vida. Sabía que necesitaba aprender más acerca de Dios y la Biblia, y después de eso comencé a leer la Biblia con regularidad. Mas tarde, Dios me llamó dentro al ministerio; y fui a la universidad bíblica y el resto es historia.

Cuando un pecador recibe a Cristo como su Salvador, ¡su vida cambia completamente! Amén. No todo el mundo está llamado a ser predicador; pero todo creyente está llamado a servir al Señor de alguna manera.

Romanos 8:18-23: “Porque considero que los sufrimientos de este momento actual no son dignos ser comparados con la gloria que será revelada en nosotros: porque la ferviente expectativa de la creación espera por la manifestación de los hijos de Dios. Porque la creación fue sujetada a vanidad: no de su propia voluntad, sino por causa de Aquél quien ha sujetado lo mismo en esperanza, porque la creación misma también será entregada desde la esclavitud de la corrupción en a la gloriosa libertad de los hijos de Dios. Porque sabemos que toda la creación gime y se esfuerza en el dolor juntos hasta ahora; y no solo la creación, sino también a nosotros mismos, que tenemos las primicias del Espíritu, nosotros también gemimos dentro de nosotros mismos, esperando la adopción, esto es, la redención de nuestro cuerpo”.

Este universo gime de dolor que fue causado por el primer pecado de Adán en Génesis. La creación fue hecha sin pecado en el principio; Dios lo llamó “muy bueno”.

Génesis 1:31: “Y vio Dios todo lo que había hecho; y he aquí que estaba muy bueno”.

Pero después de que Adán pecó contra Dios por primera vez, trajo una maldición sobre la Creación de Dios:

Génesis 3:17-18: “Y él dijo a Adán, “Porque obedeciste la voz de tu esposa y comiste del árbol, de cual te mandé, diciendo, ‘No coma de ello’; maldito es el suelo por tu bien; con dolor comerás desde ello todos los días de tu vida; también te producirá espinos y cardos a ti, y comerás la hierba del campo”.

Terremotos, enfermedades, plagas, desastres “naturales”, guerras: todas estas cosas han entrado en la raza humana a causa del primer pecado de Adán. Y seguirán destruyendo y corrompiendo este mundo hasta el fin del Reino Milenial, cuando todo en este Universo será consumido por el fuego: todos los átomos serán desgarrados y Dios rehará el Universo en un Cielo Nuevo y una Tierra Nueva, en los cuales habitará la justicia para siempre, Amén.

2 Pedro 3:10-13: “Pero el día del Señor vendrá como ladrón en la noche; en el cual los cielos pasarán con grande estruendo, y los elementos se derretirán con un calor intenso, y la tierra y las obras que en ella hay serán quemadas. Viendo, pues, que todas estas cosas serán disueltas ¿qué clase de personas debéis ser en toda conducta santa y piadosa? Aguardando y apresurándose hasta la venida del Día de Dios; En el que los cielos, estando en llamas, serán disueltos, y los elementos se derretirán con intenso calor. Pero nosotros, según su promesa, esperamos cielos nuevos y tierra nueva, en los cuales mora la justicia”.

El complemento “Porque en esperanza somos salvados; pero la esperanza que él vea no es esperanza; porque lo que el hombre ve, ¿por qué él todavía lo espera?

El complemento “Pero si esperamos aquello que no vemos, entonces esperamos a ello con paciencia.

Comentarios: Las pruebas y tribulaciones son una parte integral del mundo malvado en el que vivimos, ¿amén? No podemos escapar de esas cosas hasta que vayamos a estar con el Señor.

Pero mientras estamos aquí en esta Tierra, tenemos la presencia interior del Espíritu Santo para ayudarnos, consolarnos y darnos su poder y fuerza para prevalecer contra nuestros enemigos espirituales: Satanás y sus demonios; y también para darnos el poder de resistir el pecado y la tentación del mundo y de la carne.

¡El Espíritu Santo puede ayudarnos en nuestras debilidades, porque Él es Dios y sabe todo sobre nosotros! Cuando oramos, el Espíritu Santo nos ayuda a orar por las cosas por las que necesitamos orar, si permanecemos en oración el tiempo suficiente para comprender la mente del Señor. ¡Y el Espíritu Santo incluso ora por nosotros, según la voluntad de Dios! Amén.

¡Como ser salvado!

Jesucristo es el Hijo de Dios que nació de una virgen; Vivió una vida sin pecado, Él dio su vida en la cruz para expiar todos nuestros pecados y resucitó de entre los muertos al tercer día.

La Biblia dice que si creemos estas cosas, podemos ser salvados, si nos arrepentimos de nuestros pecados y recibimos a Jesucristo como nuestro Salvador personal:

Romanos 10:8-13: “Pero ¿qué dice? “La Palabra está cerca de ti, incluso en tu boca y en tu corazón”, es decir, la Palabra de fe (que predicamos), que si confesarás con tu boca al Señor Jesús, y creerás en tu corazón que Dios le levantó de los muertos, tú serás salvado: porque con el corazón, el hombre cree para justicia, y con la boca, la confesión se hace para la salvación: porque la Escritura dice, “cualquiera que en él creyere, no será avergonzado”. Porque no hay diferencia entre el judio y el gentil: porque el mismo Señor sobre todo es rico a todos los que le invocan: porque [está escrito], “Cualquiera que llamará sobre el Nombre del Señor será salvado”.

Si estás listo para ser salvado, entonces puedes usar la siguiente oración para arrepentirte y recibir al Señor Jesucristo como tu Salvador personal:

“Señor Jesús, sé que he pecado contra USTED. ¡No soy bueno y usted eres justo! Creo que moriste en la cruz por mis pecados, fuiste enterrado y resucitaste de entre los muertos al tercer día. Quiero que vengas a mi vida y seas mi Señor y Salvador. Por favor entra en mi corazón ahora mismo. Perdóname por todos mis pecados y salva mi alma. En el poderoso Nombre de Jesús, oro, ¡Amén!”
