I’m not going to repeat the earlier material that I presented in the ten survey studies of the five logical Books in Volume 5. First, a reminder of the correct interpretation that rules the entire letter of Hebrews. Unless this is kept in our mind, it becomes easy to fall back on the many flawed interpretations that are commonly taught about Hebrews.

The overall theme of Chapter 1 shows God the Son going down to Earth to become the final sacrifice for all sins, never to be repeated.

First, the Introduction section explains exactly who Jesus is: He is the second Person of the eternal Triune Jehovah God; He is NOT one of the angels, which are created beings.

Secondly, the Body section explains the Incarnation of the Word of God in Jesus Christ, who became the ultimate and final Atoning Sacrifice for our sins, never to be repeated. This section also underlines the urgency of believing in Christ, because of who He is.

Thirdly, the Conclusion section uses the example of Israel in the wilderness at Kadesh-Barnea, who had been given the choice to believe the words of Jehovah and go forward to conquer the Promised Land or do not believe Jehovah and go back to Egypt against the will of God.

This choice was very similar to the choice for the Jews who had been saved under the Old Covenant system of animal sacrifices before Christ had died on the cross: now that the Finished Work of Christ on the cross had done away with animal sacrifices as a means to approach the one true God, they had to decide whether to transfer their faith from the system of animal sacrifices in the Temple in Jerusalem to their Messiah and High Priest Jesus Christ, or reject Christ and continue with animal sacrifices against the will of God.

If those Jews completed their faith and received Jesus Christ as their Messiah, they would enter the true “rest” of God as COMPLETED JEWS. Otherwise, they would end up like the generation of Israelites whose corpses fell in the wilderness and did not see the Promised Land of Canaan.

None of this letter directly applies to believers in Christ or to Jews today; although applications can be made to believers in Christ within this overall interpretation.

Comments: Now, the Conclusion section is unique in the three sections of Chapter 1, because in the Introduction and in the Body sections, Paul was providing the background information: Jesus is God who came down to Earth. Because of this fact, those Jews of the first century needed to listen to the Gospel that was first preached by God in the flesh (Jesus Christ), who was their Messiah, and who became a Man so that He could become the final sacrifice and atonement for all sins, never to be repeated.

The Conclusion section contains the first time that Paul directly challenges these Jews of the first century and compares their spiritual situation to the children of Israel at Kadesh-Barnea in the Book of Numbers (13:1-14:45), who had been given the choice to believe the words of Jehovah and go forward to conquer the Promised Land or do not believe Jehovah and go back to Egypt against the will of God.

The Bible tells us that every one of the children of Israel except for Joshua and Caleb, all died in the wilderness of the Sinai desert during the forty years of wandering; and none of them saw the Promised Land of Canaan (which was the physical place of rest for the people. There would be no more wandering in the world, looking for a home; but every Israelite would have a home, land, and peace).

But the peace that is spoken of here in the letter to the Hebrews is a different kind of “rest”: it was a spiritual place of “rest” and peace in the will of God to become a completed Jew!

Outside of the will of God is turmoil, trouble, war with the Holy Spirit, and captivity to Satan and his influence. Inside the will of God is joy, hope, love, peace with God, and freedom from the power of Satan. Which one is better? The second option is obviously better, amen? Praise the Lord!

§Unique    Conclusion: Your response to the Gospel of Christ will determine your judgment or blessing (3:7 - 4:13)

¶Complement    Rejecting the Gospel will result in being shut out from God’s Rest, like unbelieving Israel in the wilderness (3:7 - 19)

Opposite    Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, “Today, if you will hear his voice: harden not your hearts, as in the rebellion, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: when your fathers tested me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.

Opposite    Therefore, I was grieved with that generation; and I said, ‘They always go astray in their heart; and they have not known my ways.’ So I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter into my rest.’”

Complement    Take care, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today”, lest any of you become hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we become partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the goal.

Complement    While it is said, “Today if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the rebellion.” For some rebelled, when they had heard the Gospel; nevertheless not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

Unique    But with whom was he grieved forty years? Was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcasses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did he swear that they would not enter into his rest, but to them that did not believe? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Comments: Notice the Golden Ratio design of the internal sub-paragraphs: two opposites, two complements, and one unique. The theme of this paragraph is the complement of the following paragraph.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ in the letter to the Hebrews was a call for the incomplete Jews under the Old Covenant in the first century to complete their faith and receive Jesus Christ as their Messiah. For proper understanding, we must always keep in mind that these Jews of the first century were the children of God; and when they died, they would go to Heaven immediately to face the Judgment Seat of Christ. They could not go to Hell, if they were genuine believers in Jehovah under the Old Covenant.

So when they heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ, there was a great struggle in their minds and in their hearts: should they believe that Jesus of Nazareth was their Messiah who had died for their sins and rose again from the dead? Or should they continue in what they had known and believed in their entire lives to that point, which was a life of worship of Jehovah their God through the system of animal sacrifices through the Temple in Jerusalem?

So Paul challenged them:

“Take care, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today”, lest any of you become hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we become partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the goal.”

That last sentence has been a great source of struggle and spiritual anxiety for many Christians today:

Hebrews 3:14: “For we become partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the goal.”

Hebrews 3:6b: “whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the goal.”

Does a Christian only become a partaker of Christ if we struggle and hold on to our salvation, but if we sin “too much”, then we will lose our salvation and go to Hell? Of course not!

But this is what is being taught in a great number of supposedly Christian churches, especially charismatic, pentecostal, and free-will Baptist churches.

The basics of this error include:

But “how much” sin is too much sin? No one can define that, because the Bible doesn’t teach that.

In fact, Jesus paid for A-L-L of our sins on the cross, once for all time! All of our sins were put on Jesus almost 2,000 years go, and He paid for ALL of them. That means that God knew about every one of our sins BEFORE we even existed! And God put all of our sins on Jesus as our Atonement for ALL sins through his foreknowledge of all things. Therefore, since ALL of my sins were put on Jesus on the cross, I cannot “sin too much” to be lost and go to Hell, because God already paid for ALL of them.

Therefore, anyone who teaches that we must “hold on to Jesus” for dear life or we will go to Hell is teaching a lie!

One of the major sources of this error is the wrong interpretation of Hebrews 3:14, 3:6, and 6:4-6, as I just explained. They believe that these texts apply to people today, and this is not correct; so, I hope that these studies can help to stop the error from being taught in the future.

If you are a church member of a Free-will Baptist, Pentecostal, or Charismatic church, then you need to pay attention to these studies very carefully, because your pastor is in error on this point! Find a church that preaches the whole counsel of God, such as an Independent, Fundamental Baptist church. No church is perfect, but I believe that you will find a much more accurate presentation of biblical truth in these churches than where you are now.

¶Complement    Belief in the Gospel will result in the ultimate rest of God for your soul (4:1 - 13)

Opposite    Therefore, let us fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it: for the Gospel was preached to us, as well as to them; but the Word preached did not benefit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we who have believed in Christ do enter into rest: as he said, “So I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter into my rest.’”

Opposite    Although the works were finished from the foundation of the world: for he spoke in a certain place of the seventh day on this manner, “And God rested the seventh day from all his works.” And in this Scripture again, “They shall not enter into my rest.”

Complement    Therefore, seeing it remains that some must enter into it, and they to whom it was first preached did not enter in because of unbelief: again, he limits a certain day, saying in David, “Today, after so long a time.” As it is said, “Today if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.” For if Joshua had truly given them rest, then he would not have spoken afterward of another day.

Complement    Therefore there remains a rest to the people of God: for he that has entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

Unique    Therefore, let us be eager to enter into that rest, lest any man falls after the same example of unbelief: for the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword; piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow; and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart; neither is there any creature that is not exposed in his sight, but all things are naked and opened to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Hebrews 4:1 “Therefore, let us fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.”

Paul was saying, in effect: You Jews under the Old Covenant need to fear, lest you fail to heed the Gospel call to follow Christ as your Messiah and become a completed Jew. For just as the children of Israel at Kadesh-Barnea, who were believers in Jehovah, rebelled against Jehovah and decided to go back to Egypt, you could also face the same destruction as they did!

Hebrews 4:6-7: “Therefore, seeing it remains that some must enter into it, and they to whom it was first preached did not enter in because of unbelief: again, he limits a certain day, saying in David, “Today, after so long a time.”

Just as at Kadesh-Barnea, when the Israelites were given a choice to decide between believing God and following Him into the Promised Land or disbelieving God and returning to Egypt: God gave these Jews a time limit to obey Him and follow Christ, or disobey the Gospel and go back to their animal sacrifices that were no longer a Way to meet with Jehovah. It was time to decide! The time limit was 40 years, from the crucifixion of Jesus until God sent the Roman army of Titus to raze Jerusalem and the Temple to the ground, and over one million Jews perished in the war.

Hebrews 4:8: “For if Joshua had truly given them rest, then he would not have spoken afterward of another day.”

When the children of Israel conquered the promised land under the leadership of Joshua, they found rest for their feet; but not for their souls.

The Greek word for “Joshua” in this text is “ιησους”, the same as “Jesus”. In the King James version of the Bible, the word is translated literally as “Jesus”; but while this is literally correct, it is not the correct translation, because it was Joshua who led the children of Israel into Canaan, not Jesus.

Interestingly, “Joshua” in the Hebrew language means “Jehovah saves”, and “Jesus” in the Greek language also means “Jehovah saves”, so in the Greek, it is the same word. Nonetheless, the King James translators should not have translated the word as “Jesus” in this text.

Hebrews 4:9-10: “Therefore, there remains a rest to the people of God: for he that has entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his.”

The reference here is to Genesis 2:2-3, where God completed his work of Creation and rested on the seventh day. So for a first century Jew who embraced Jesus Christ as their Messiah, they would also cease from their works of offering animal sacrifices and put their trust finally and completely in the Finished Work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Hebrews 4:11: “Therefore, let us be eager to enter into that rest, lest any man falls after the same example of unbelief.”

Paul urged his Jewish brothers to enter into the rest of Jesus their Messiah and High Priest, and he warned them what would happen to them if they fell from the grace of God and turned back to Egypt (as it were) by continuing to offer animal sacrifices against the will of God.

Hebrews 4:12-13: “for the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword; piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow; and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart; neither is there any creature that is not exposed in his sight, but all things are naked and opened to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”

The Word of God is living and powerful. The Greek word for powerful is “ενεργης” or energetic/effective or active.

Do not underestimate the power of the Word of God: It is alive! It pierces to the division of soul and spirit and the joints and marrow of our bones. It is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart; and Jesus Christ is the Word of God (John 1:1-3)!

Hebrws 4:13: “neither is there any creature that is not exposed in his sight, but all things are naked and opened to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”

Isaiah 55:8-11: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts; neither are your ways my ways,’ says Jehovah. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and does not return there, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give both seed to the sower, and bread to the eater, so shall be my Word that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing to which I sent it.”

Conclusion

When you decide to oppose the will of God, you are fighting a battle that you will surely lose! You cannot fight the will of your Creator, because it will only end with your own destruction! God has already decided to destroy this world at some point in the future; why are you trying to build a sand castle in opposition to his will?

I have personally experienced a situation in which I was not in the will of God any longer for a long period of time, somewhat similar to the situation of these Jews under the Old Covenant whom God was calling to faith in Christ their Messiah.

While I was in Bible college, I was in the will of God and enjoyed wonderful fellowship with the Lord as I studied his Word daily. But after I graduated from Seminary, it was like a light had been switched off in my life, and suddenly, I was walking in darkness and misery; and I did not understand why! Every day, I was unhappy and had no peace in my heart. “What was wrong with me?” I wondered. This went on for months, as I was searching for the will of God at the time. I thought initially that I should continue my education to get another degree in Seminary, because I knew that God had called me to be a missionary. However, this was not what God wanted for me!

After about seven months of absolute misery in my soul, one day, after much prayer, I realized that God wanted me to leave Seminary and move to another city; and so I did. Suddenly, the light of God’s peace came into my life again! I was happy and joyful in the will of God again!

So I think I understand how these Jews under the Old Covenant were feeling as they were considering whether to believe in Jesus or not. God was chastising them severely for their unbelief! For believers in Christ, if you are not in the will of God for your life, you are extremely unhappy right now! I understand! Repent and surrender your life to the Lord Jesus to do his will, RIGHT NOW! You will never experience his joy or his peace on this Earth until you do.

Include these words in your prayers:

“I will do what you want me to do; I will go wherever you want me to go; I will say what you want me to say! I want to serve you and follow you, no matter what! Help me to do it in the Name of Jesus, amen!”

For those of you who have not been saved, Jesus is calling you to be saved, RIGHT NOW!

The Bible says that if we repent of our sins, and believe that Jesus died for our sins and rose up from the dead on the third day, and invite Jesus into our heart to save us, then we shall be saved!

Luke 13:3: Jesus said, “I tell you, no; but, unless you repent, you shall all likewise perish.”

Romans 10:9, 12-13: “If you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.... For there is no difference between the Jew and the Gentile: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him: for it is written, “whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.”

There is no other Way to Heaven when you die, except through the Lord Jesus Christ!

John 14:6: “Jesus says to him, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes to the Father, except through me.””

If you would like to know the one true God as your personal Savior, and know for certain that you will go to Heaven when you die, instead of Hell, you can pray this prayer to be saved:

“Lord Jesus, I know that I have sinned against YOU. I am no good, and you are righteous! You are my only hope for salvation! I believe that you died on the cross for my sins, you were buried, and you rose again from the dead on the third day. I want you to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart right now. Forgive me for all my sins, and save my soul. In the mighty Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen!”

La segunda opción es obviamente mejor, ¿amén? ¡Alabado sea el Señor!

§Único    Conclusión: Tu respuesta al Evangelio de Cristo determinará tu juicio o bendición (3:7 - 4:13)

El Evangelio de Jesucristo en la carta a los Hebreos fue un llamado a los judíos incompletos bajo el Antiguo Pacto en el primer siglo para completar su fe y recibir a Jesucristo como su Mesías. Para una correcta comprensión, siempre debemos tener en cuenta que estos judíos del primer siglo eran hijos de Dios; y cuando murieran, irían al Cielo inmediatamente para enfrentar el Juicio de Cristo. No podían ir al Infierno, si eran creyentes genuinos en Jehová bajo el Antiguo Pacto.

Entonces, cuando oyeron el Evangelio de Jesucristo, hubo una gran lucha en sus mentes y en sus corazones: ¿Deberían creer que Jesús de Nazaret era su Mesías que había muerto por sus pecados y resucitado de entre los muertos? ¿O deberían continuar en lo que habían conocido y creído durante toda su vida hasta ese punto, cual era una vida de adoración de Jehová su Dios a través del sistema de sacrificios de animales a través del Templo en Jerusalén?

Así que Pablo los desafió:

“Tened cuidado, hermanos, para que no haya en ninguno de vosotros un corazón malo de increduli- dad en apartarse del Dios vivo. Pero exhortaos unos a otros diarios, mientras se llama “Hoy”; para que no cualquiera de ustedes volverse endurecido a través del engaño del pecado. Porque llegamos a ser partícipes de Cristo, si retenemos el comienzo de nuestra confianza firme hasta la meta.”

Esa última frase ha sido una gran fuente de lucha y ansiedad espiritual para muchos cristianos hoy:

Hebreos 3:14: “Porque llegamos a ser partícipes de Cristo, si retenemos el comienzo de nuestra confianza firme hasta la meta.”

Hebreos 3:6b: “cuya casa somos, si nos aferramos a la confianza y el regocijo de la esperanza firme hasta la meta.”

¿Un cristiano solo se convierte en partícipe de Cristo si luchamos y nos aferramos a nuestra salvación, pero si pecamos “demasiado”, entonces perderemos nuestra salvación e iremos al Infierno? ¡Por supuesto no!

Pero esto es lo que se está enseñando en un gran número de iglesias supuestamente cristianas, especialmente en las iglesias carismáticas, pentecostales y bautistas de libre albedrío.

Pero, ¿“cuánto” pecado es demasiado pecado? Nadie puede definir eso, porque la Biblia no enseña eso.

De hecho, Jesús pagó por TODOS de nuestros pecados en la cruz, ¡de una vez por todas! Todos nuestros pecados fueron puestos sobre Jesús en la cruz hace casi 2000 años, y Él pagó por TODOS ellos. ¡Eso significa que Dios sabía acerca de cada uno de nuestros pecados ANTES de que aun existiéramos! Y Dios puso todos nuestros pecados sobre Jesús como nuestra Expiación por TODOS los pecados a través de su conocimiento previo de todas las cosas. Por lo tanto, dado que TODOS mis pecados fueron puestos sobre Jesús en la cruz, no puedo “pecar demasiado” para perderme e ir al infierno, porque Dios ya pagó por TODOS ellos.

Por lo tanto, ¡cualquiera que enseñe que debemos “aferrarnos a Jesús” o iremos al Infierno está enseñando una mentira!

Una de las principales fuentes de este error es la interpretación incorrecta de Hebreos 3:14, 3:6 y 6:4-6, como acabo de explicar. Creen que estos textos se aplican a la gente de hoy, y esto no es correcto; entonces, espero que estos estudios puedan ayudar a evitar que este error se enseñe en el futuro.

Si usted es miembro de una iglesia bautista de libre albedrío, pentecostal o carismática, entonces debe prestar mucha atención a estos estudios, ¡porque tu pastor está en un error en este punto! Encuentre una iglesia que predique todo el consejo de Dios, como una iglesia bautista fundamental e independiente. Ninguna iglesia es perfecta, pero creo que encontrará una presentación mucho más precisa de la verdad bíblica en estas iglesias que donde se encuentra ahora.

¶El complemento    La creencia en el Evangelio resultará en el descanso perfecto de Dios para tu alma (4:1 - 13)

Lo opuesto    Por tanto, temamos, no sea que mientras queda una promesa de entrar en el reposo de él, cualquiera de ustedes debería parecer quedarse corto: porque el evangelio nos fue predicado, así como a ellos; pero la palabra predicada no los benefició, no estar mezclado con fe en los que la oyeron. Porque entramos en el reposo, los que hemos creído en Cristo: como él dijo, “Así que juré en mi ira, ‘No entrarán en mi reposo.’””

Lo opuesto    Aunque las obras estaban acabadas desde la fundación del mundo: porque habló en cierto lugar del séptimo día de esta manera, “Y Dios descansó el séptimo día desde todas sus obras.” Y en esta escritura de nuevo, “No entrarán en mi reposo.”

El complemento    Por lo tanto, viendo que resta que algunos deban entrar en ella, y aquellos a quienes ello fue predicado por primera vez no entraron a causa de incredulidad: otra vez, él limita cierto día, diciendo en David, “Hoy, después de tanto tiempo.” Como ello se dice, “Hoy, si oyereis su voz: no endurezcáis vuestros corazones.” Porque si Josué en verdad les hubiera dado descanso, entonces no habría hablado después de otro día.

El complemento    Por lo tanto, queda un reposo para el pueblo de Dios: porque él que ha entrado en su reposo, él también ha reposado de sus propias obras, como Dios hizo desde las suyas.

Único    Por lo tanto, estemos ansiosos de entrar en ese reposo; no sea que alguno caiga después del mismo ejemplo de incredulidad: porque la Palabra de Dios está viva y poderosa, y más afilado que cualquier espada de dos filos; penetrante aún hasta la división del alma y el espíritu, y de las articulaciones y médula; y es un discernidor de los pensamientos y las intenciones del corazón; ni hay criatura alguna que no se expone delante de los ojos de él; sino todas las cosas están desnudas y abiertas a los ojos de él a quien debemos dar cuenta.

Comentarios: observe el diseño de la proporción áurea de los subpárrafos internos: dos opuestos, dos complementarios y uno único. El tema de este párrafo es el complemento al del párrafo anterior.

Hebreos 4:1 “Por tanto, temamos, no sea que mientras queda una promesa de entrar en el reposo de él, cualquiera de ustedes debería parecer quedarse corto.”

Pablo estaba diciendo, en efecto: Ustedes, judíos bajo el Antiguo Pacto, deben temer, no sea que fallas en prestar atención al llamado del Evangelio de seguir a Cristo como su Mesías y convertirse en un judío completo. Porque así como los hijos de Israel en Cades-Barnea, que eran creyentes en Jehová, se rebelaron contra Jehová y decidieron regresar a Egipto: ¡usted también podría enfrentar la misma destrucción que ellos!

Hebreos 4:6-7: “Por lo tanto, viendo que resta que algunos deban entrar en ella, y aquellos a quienes ello fue predicado por primera vez no entraron a causa de incredulidad: otra vez, él limita cierto día, diciendo en David, “Hoy, después de tanto tiempo.”

Así como en Cades-Barnea, cuando los israelitas se les dio la opción de decidir entre creer en Dios y seguirlo a la Tierra Prometida, o no creyendo en Dios y regresando a Egipto: Dios les dio a estos judíos un límite de tiempo para obedecerle y seguir a Cristo, o desobedecer el Evangelio y volver a sus sacrificios de animales que ya no eran un Camino para encontrarse con Jehová. ¡Era hora de decidir! El límite de tiempo fue de 40 años, desde la crucifixión de Jesús hasta que Dios envió al ejército romano de Tito a arrasar Jerusalén y el Templo, y más de un millón de judíos perecieron en la guerra.

Hebreos 4:8: “Porque si Josué en verdad les hubiera dado descanso, entonces no habría hablado después de otro día.”

Cuando los hijos de Israel conquistaron la tierra prometida bajo el liderazgo de Josué, encontraron descanso para sus pies; pero no para sus almas.

La palabra griega para “Josué” en este texto es “ιησους”, lo mismo que “Jesús”. En la versión Rey Jacobo de la Biblia, la palabra se traduce literalmente como “Jesús”; pero mientras esto es literalmente correcto, no es la traducción correcta, porque fue Josué quien condujo a los hijos de Israel a Canaán, no Jesús.

Curiosamente, “Josué” en el idioma hebreo significa “Jehová salva”, y “Jesús” en el idioma griego también significa “Jehová salva”, por lo que en griego es la misma palabra. No obstante, los traductores de Rey Jacobo no deberían haber traducido la palabra como “Jesús” en este texto.

Hebreos 4:9-10: “Por lo tanto, queda un reposo para el pueblo de Dios: porque él que ha entrado en su reposo, él también ha reposado de sus propias obras, como Dios hizo desde las suyas.”

La referencia aquí es a Génesis 2:2-3, donde Dios completó su obra de Creación y descansó el séptimo día. Entonces, para un judío del primer siglo que abrazó a Jesucristo como su Mesías, también cesaría desde sus obras de ofrecer sacrificios de animales y pondrían su confianza final y completamente en la Obra Terminada de Jesucristo en la cruz.

Hebreos 4:11: “Por lo tanto, estemos ansiosos de entrar en ese reposo; no sea que alguno caiga después del mismo ejemplo de incredulidad.”

Pablo instó a sus hermanos judíos a entrar en el descanso espiritual de Jesús su Mesías y Sumo Sacerdote, y les advirtió lo que les sucedería si caían de la gracia de Dios y volvían a Egipto (por así decirlo) al continuar ofreciendo sacrificios de animales en contra de la voluntad de Dios.

Hebreos 4:12-13: “porque la Palabra de Dios está viva y poderosa, y más afilado que cualquier espada de dos filos; penetrante aún hasta la división del alma y el espíritu, y de las articulaciones y médula; y es un discernidor de los pensamientos y las intenciones del corazón; ni hay criatura alguna que no se expone delante de los ojos de él; sino todas las cosas están desnudas y abiertas a los ojos de él a quien debemos dar cuenta.”

La Palabra de Dios es viva y poderosa. La palabra griega para poderoso es “ενεργης” O energético / efectivo o activo.

No subestimes el poder de la Palabra de Dios: ¡Está viva! Penetra hasta la división del alma y el espíritu y las articulaciones y la médula de nuestros huesos. Es un discernidor de los pensamientos e intenciones del corazón; y Jesucristo es la Palabra de Dios (Juan 1:1-3)!

Hebreos 4:13: “ni hay criatura alguna que no se expone delante de los ojos de él; sino todas las cosas están desnudas y abiertas a los ojos de él a quien debemos dar cuenta.”

Isaías 55:8-11: “Porque mis pensamientos no son vuestros pensamientos, tampoco son vuestros caminos mis caminos,’ dice Jehová. ‘Porque como son más altos los cielos que la tierra, así son mis caminos más altos que vuestros caminos, y mis pensamientos más altos que vuestros pensamientos. Porque como la lluvia y la nieve desciende desde los cielos, y no vuelve allá, sino ello riega la tierra, y la hace germinar y producir, que ello puede dar semilla al sembrador y pan al que come, así será mi Palabra que sale de mi boca: no volverá a mí vacía, sino que logrará lo que yo quiero, y prosperará en aquello a lo que la envié.”

Conclusión

¡Cuando decides oponerte a la voluntad de Dios, estás peleando una batalla que seguramente perderás! ¡No puedes luchar contra la voluntad de tu Creador, porque solo terminará con tu propia destrucción! Dios ya ha decidido destruir este mundo en algún momento en el futuro; ¿Por qué estás tratando de construir un castillo de arena en oposición a su voluntad?

He experimentado personalmente una situación en la que ya no estaba en la voluntad de Dios durante un largo período de tiempo, algo similar a la situación de estos judíos bajo el Antiguo Pacto a quienes Dios estaba llamando a la fe en Cristo su Mesías.

Mientras estaba en la universidad bíblica, estaba en la voluntad de Dios y disfrutaba de una maravillosa comunión con el Señor mientras estudiaba su Palabra todos los días. Pero después de graduarme del Seminario, fue como si una luz se hubiera apagado en mi vida, y de repente, estaba caminando en la oscuridad y la miseria; y yo no entendía por qué! Todos los días, era infeliz y no tenía paz en mi corazón. “¿Qué estaba mal conmigo?” Me preguntaba. Esto continuó durante meses, mientras buscaba la voluntad de Dios en ese momento. Inicialmente pensé que debía continuar mi educación para obtener otro título en Seminario, porque sabía que Dios me había llamado a ser misionera. Sin embargo, ¡esto no era lo que Dios quería para mí!

Después de unos siete meses de absoluta miseria en mi alma, un día, después de mucha oración, me di cuenta de que Dios quería que dejara el Seminario y me mudara a otra ciudad; y así lo hice. ¡De repente, la luz de la paz de Dios volvió a mi vida! ¡Yo estaba feliz y gozoso en la voluntad de Dios otra vez!

Así que creo que entiendo cómo se sentían estos judíos bajo el Antiguo Pacto al considerar si creer en Jesús o no. ¡Dios los estaba castigando severamente por su incredulidad! Para los creyentes en Cristo, si no estás en la voluntad de Dios para tu vida, ¡eres extremadamente infeliz en este momento! ¡Entiendo! Arrepiéntase y entregue su vida al Señor Jesús para hacer su voluntad, ¡AHORA MISMO! Nunca experimentarás su alegría o su paz en esta Tierra hasta que lo hagas.

Incluye estas palabras en tus oraciones:

“Haré lo que tú quieras que haga; Iré a donde tú quieras que vaya; ¡Diré lo que quieras que diga! ¡Quiero servirte y seguirte, pase lo que pase! ¡Ayúdame a hacerlo en el Nombre de Jesús, amén!”

Para aquellos de ustedes que no han sido salvados, ¡Jesús te está llamando a ser salvado, AHORA MISMO!

La Biblia dice que si nos arrepentimos de nuestros pecados y creemos que Jesús murió por nuestros pecados y resucitó de entre los muertos al tercer día, y también invitamos a Jesús a nuestro corazón para que nos salve, ¡entonces seremos salvados!

Lucas 13:3: Jesús dijo: “Os digo que no; pero, a menos que te arrepientas, todos pereceréis igualmente.”

Romanos 10:9, 12-13: “Si confesarás con tu boca al Señor Jesús, y creerás en tu corazón que Dios le levantó de los muertos, tú serás salvado:.... Porque no hay diferencia entre el judio y el gentil: porque el mismo Señor sobre todo es rico a todos los que le invocan: porque está escrito, “Cualquiera que llamará sobre el Nombre del Señor será salvado.”

¡No hay otro Camino al Cielo cuando mueres, excepto a través del Señor Jesucristo!

Juan 14:6: “Jesús le dice: ‘Yo soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida: nadie viene al Padre, sino a través de mí.’”

Si desea conocer al único Dios verdadero como tu Salvador personal, y saber con certeza que tú irás al Cielo cuando tú mueras, en lugar del Infierno, tú puedes orar esta oración para ser salvado:

“Señor Jesús, sé que he pecado contra TI. ¡No soy bueno y tú eres justo! Creo que moriste en la cruz por mis pecados, fuiste enterrado y resucitaste de entre los muertos al tercer día. Quiero que vengas a mi vida y seas mi Señor y Salvador. Por favor entra en mi corazón ahora mismo. Perdóname por todos mis pecados y salva mi alma. En el poderoso Nombre de Jesús, oro, ¡Amén!”
