Romans, Chapter 2.2: Both Jews and Gentiles can only be justified through faith alone in the New Covenant Finished Work of Christ (2:17 - 5:21)

§Complement Introduction: Even the most religious person possible is condemned by the Law of Moses (2:17 - 3:8)

¶Opposite The proud Jew’s profession of faith in God is destroyed by his breaking of the Law of Moses (2:17 - 29)

¶Opposite God is always righteous in everything that He does, including judging sin (3:1 - 8)

§Complement Body: Justification from sin is by faith alone in the Finished Work of Christ without the works of the Law or circumcision (3:9 - 5:8)

Opposite What then? Are we Jews better than Gentiles? No, not at all: for we have already demonstrated both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under the curse of sin: as it is written, “No one is righteous; no, not even one. There is no one that understands; there is no one that seeks after God; they have all gone out of the Way; they have together become unprofitable. There are none that do good; no, not even one. Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips, whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; their feet are swift to shed blood. Destruction and misery are in their ways; and they have not known the Way of peace. There is no fear of God before their eyes.” And we know that whatsoever things the Law says, it says to them who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be shut, and all the world may become guilty before God; therefore, by the works of the Law, no flesh shall be justified in his sight: for by the Law is the knowledge of sin.

Opposite But now, the righteousness of God apart from the Law is revealed (being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets): even the righteousness of God which is through faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference, because all have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the Redemption that is in Christ Jesus; whom God has displayed publicly, to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the passing over of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness, so that God might be just, and the justifier of him who believes in Jesus.

Complement Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what Law? Of works? No, but by the Law of faith; therefore, we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the Law.

Complement Is he the God of the Jews only? Is he not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also, seeing that there is one true God, who shall justify the circumcision by faith, and the uncircumcision through the same faith.

Unique Do we then make the Law void through faith? Certainly not. In fact, we establish the Law.

Comments: Here is a compressed version of this paragraph outline. Notice the Golden Ratio design in reverse: two opposites, two complements, and one unique:

Opposite The Law of Moses (the Ten Commandments or the Moral Law) condemns every sinner and declares them guilty before God

Opposite The Finished Work of Christ on the cross freely justifies every sinner who repents and receives Jesus Christ as their personal Savior

Complement Sinners are justified by faith in the Finished Work of Christ apart from the works of the Moral Law of Moses

Complement Jehovah is the one true God of both Jews and Gentiles who justifies both of them by the same faith in the Finished Work of Christ

Unique The Law is established by faith in the Finished Work of Christ

Now I want to look, very briefly, at the key Bible doctrines that flow from the text of Romans 3:21-26. This is the core of the Christian Faith. Anything different than this is not of God!

But now, the righteousness of God apart from the Law is revealed (being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets): even the righteousness of God which is through faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference, because all have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the Redemption that is in Christ Jesus; whom God has displayed publicly, to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the passing over of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness, so that God might be just, and the justifier of him who believes in Jesus.

This text is all about “Justification”, which is really four different things that happen to the sinner when they receive the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior:

1) Imputation: God credits (or imputes) to the believer his own righteousness in response to our faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the cross

2) Declaration: God declares the sinner who believes in Jesus Christ to be righteous in his sight (our new standing or position with God)

3) Propitiation: Jesus Christ was a propitiation for the sins of all mankind on the cross

4) Redemption: The sinner is redeemed from the slave market of sin by the Finished Work of Christ

Imputation: God credits (or imputes) to the believer his own righteousness in response to our faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the cross

Romans 4:3b: “Abraham ‘believed in [Jehovah]; and his faith was credited to him for righteousness.’”

Romans 3:21-23 “But now, the righteousness of God apart from the Law is revealed (being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets): even the righteousness of God which is through faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference, because all have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God”

Romans 4:6-8: “Even as David also describes the blessedness of the man, to whom God imputes righteousness without works, saying, “Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.”

When we repent of our sins, and receive Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, one of the things that happens is that God gives you (or imputes to you) his righteousness in response to your repentance and faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the cross.

Isaiah 64:6: “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteous works are like filthy rags; and we all fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”

We need the righteousness of God, because we have no righteousness of our own! All our righteous works are like filthy rags in the sight of God!

Many say, “That’s too easy! We have to do some good works to make ourself acceptable to God. God will weigh my good works against my bad works; and if my good works outweigh my bad works, then God will welcome me into Heaven!

But no, that path will only lead into Hell and later, the Lake of Fire! If we ever want to enter Heaven, we must enter by the Way that God has provided, through the Finished Work of Christ on the cross.

The Bible says that ALL of our works of righteousness are like FILTHY RAGS in the sight of God. “Filthy rags” refers to the cloth bandages that lepers wrapped around their putrid, rotting flesh to keep it from falling off. You can just imagine how smelly and nasty those rags were.

In the same way, God looks at our works of righteousness as dirty, filthy, smelly rags that should be burned! They are an offence to God! Amen. Because God is thrice holy and cannot allow even the smallest speck of sin or unrighteousness into his presence: therefore God only accepts the pure, perfect, and sinless works of Jesus Christ in his Holy Life and in his sacrificial atoning death for our sins on the cross (his Finished Work) as payment for our sins. He will never, ever accept anything that we can do in our life as payment for our sins.

Matthew 7:21-23: Jesus said, “Not every one that says to me, ‘Lord, Lord’, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but only he that does the will of my Father, who is in Heaven. Many will say to me in that day, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your Name? And in your Name, have we not cast out demons? And in your Name, have we not done many wonderful works?’ And then will I profess to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you that work iniquity.’”

If we ever want to enter Heaven, we must enter by the Way that God has provided, through the Finished Work of Christ on the cross.

Juan 10:1: “Truly, truly, I say to you, he that enters not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.”

Juan 14:6: “Jesus says to him, ‘I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes to the Father, except through me.’”

Logically then, if God has given me (or credited to me) his righteousness in response to my faith in the Finished Work of Christ, my own works are useless in the sight of God! God only cares about the Finished Work of Christ on the cross and whether I have acknowledged my own sinfulness to Him and that I now believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God.

God is not interested in weighing my good works against my bad works, because all of my righteous works are like filthy rags in his sight! This false theory is very popular in the world, but it is not found in the Bible! Amen.

Declaration: God declares the sinner who believes in Jesus Christ to be righteous in his sight

Romans 3:25b: “to declare his righteousness for the passing over of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness, so that God might be just, and the justifier of him who believes in Jesus.”

Ephesians 1:4: “according as he has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love”

This is our new standing or position with God, because of our faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the cross!

Romans 5:1-2: “Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; by whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in assurance of the glory of God.”

Let me illustrate with the concept of the family: because I am a son of my father and mother, I have a special position with them that the neighbor’s children do not have. I can ask for things that the neighor’s kids cannot; I have the genes of my parents, and we are related in a special way!

The position of a sinner is similar to the neighbor’s children: a sinner is an alien to the family of God; a sinner does not know God in a personal way; he or she is an outsider, an alien and a foreigner to God. When a sinner sins against God, God does not discipline him immediately, because he is not one of his children; the discipline of the sinner comes after death.

Ephesians 2:1-3: “And you, being dead in trespasses and sins; in which, in time past, you walked according to the course of this Age, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience; among whom also we all had our conduct in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.”

But a born again believer in Jesus Christ has been adopted into the Family of God! He is no longer a foreigner, an alien, an outsider! He is the object of special love and attention from God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is a child of the King of kings and Lord of lords! Amen. This is his POSITION with God that will NEVER CHANGE. Once a son, always a son!

But now that he is a child of the King, he also becomes subject to the discipline of the King his father!

Hebrews 12:5-8: “And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to children, “My son, despise not the discipline of [Jehovah], nor faint when you are rebuked by him: for whom [Jehovah] loves he disciplines, and scourges every son whom he receives.” If you endure discipline, God deals with you as with sons: for what son is he whom the father does not discipline? But if you are without discipline, whereof all are partakers, then you are illegitimate, and not truly sons of God.”

Summary: The position of a believer in Jesus Christ with God is permanent! A child of God cannot become a child of the devil, ever. However, a child of God can sin; and when they do, God chastises them as a father does with his son that he loves. If there is no chastisement, then the person who professes to be a Christian is a false Christian; there is no truth in their profession to be a Christian.

Propitiation: Jesus Christ was a propitiation for the sins of all mankind on the cross

Romans 3:24: “being justified freely by his grace through the Redemption that is in Christ Jesus”

Romans 3:25a: “whom God has displayed publicly, to be a propitiation through faith in his blood”

I John 2:1-2: “My little children, I write these things to you, so that you sin not; but if any man sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous. And he himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”

Isaiah 53:4-6: “Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and Jehovah has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”

The Finished Work of Jesus Christ on the cross for our sins is a “propitiation” or an “expiation”. In other words, God satisfied his wrath against our sins by punishing Jesus his only begotten Son on the cross in our place.

God hates all sin; and all of our sins must be punished if we are ever to have any hope of entering the glories of Heaven, because God is thrice holy and cannot allow even the tiniest speck of sin in his Holy Heaven. Either you can die and receive the wrath of God for your sins in Hell and later, the Lake of Fire; OR, you can receive Jesus Christ as your Savior, who already received the wrath of God for your sins when He was on the cross for three hours. If you repent and receive Christ as your Savior, then his suffering (his propitiation) is credited to you, and you go free from the wrath of God forever; and Heaven becomes your home, Amen and amen!

Jesus received and satisfied the wrath of God the Father on the cross for our sins, so that if we believe on Jesus Christ and receive Him as our personal Savior, then his punishment on the cross is freely credited to us by the grace of God, so that we will then escape the fires of Hell and the Lake of Fire and we will have the privilege of entering Heaven when we die, all due to the propitiation that Christ did for us on the cross. Hallelujah! Amen.

And because Jesus is the Divine Son of God, Jesus was able to vicariously suffer on behalf of the entire human race for three hours on the cross! Amen.

Luke 24:45-47: “Then he opened their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures; and he said to them, “Thus it has been written; and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day, so that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in his Name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.”

Islam claims that Jesus never died on the cross. However, this is not what the Bible says! Obviously, Mohammad LIED about Jesus and his Finished Work on the cross; and he is in Hell today. If you believe Mohammad and Islam, you will follow him. Please do not do that! Amen.

The popes claim (the Council of Trent) that the suffering of Jesus Christ on the cross was not good enough to save you; instead, they say that you must take the Mass, pray to Mary instead of Jesus, do good works, and the priest must say Last Rites for you, and then maybe, just maybe, you will be good enough to go to Heaven; but they do not know whether that is true or not! The popes have denied the Finished Work of Christ on the cross, and they have all gone into Hell or are going there soon! Do not follow their lies! Amen.

Hindus, Buddhists, and Shintoists also claim that the suffering of Jesus Christ on the cross was not good enough to save you. They deny that Jesus was God; and they deny that Jesus is the only Way to Heaven. Do not follow their lies into Hell! Amen.

Liberals also lie about Jesus and his propitation on the cross for our sins. They claim that we must “do our best”, “do good works”, “be a good neighbor”, “love one another”; and God will weigh our good works against our bad works; and if our good works outweigh our bad works, we will go to Heaven when we die. This is a lie from Satan! The Bible does not teach this. Amen.

Redemption: The sinner is redeemed from the slave market of sin by the Finished Work of Christ

Romans 3:24: “being justified freely by his grace through the Redemption that is in Christ Jesus”

Romans 6:17-18: “But thanks to God, that you were the slaves of sin; but you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered to you. Being then made free from the sin nature, you became the servants of righteousness.”

Romans 6:22: “But now, being made free from the old sin nature and become servants to God, you have your fruit unto holiness, and the end Everlasting Life.”

Redemption is a word that relates to the concept of a slave market, where men, women, boys, and girls are put up for sale to the highest bidder to be slaves. A slave can be “redeemed” by someone else paying the owner to release the slave and make them free.

Sinners are slaves of sin and cannot stop sinning without being released from that slavery! But Jesus paid the price for all sin on the cross, which means that He suffered in our place. When we repent and believe in the Finished Work of Christ on the cross (his blood that He shed and his infinite suffering for our sins), then we are REDEEMED (or purchased) out of the slave market of sin; and we become free from the penalty and the power of sin over us, so that we can become servants of righteousness and holiness, to the glory of God! Amen.

Slavery to sin brings death!

Romans 8:13: “for if you live according to the flesh, you shall die”

Romans 6:23: “for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is Eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

But slavery to righteousness brings life, health, and peace! The redemption in the Finished Work of Christ on the cross gives us liberty and freedom from the power of sin! Hallelujah!

But in order to enjoy this freedom from the power of sin, we must yield ourselves to the control of the Holy Spirit! Freedom from the power of sin does not come without our active obedience to God.

We were delivered from the penalty of sin (eternity in Hell and the Lake of Fire) when we repented and put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ and his blood that He shed for us on the cross; but we must yield ourselves to the Holy Spirit, minute by minute, to have deliverance from the power of sin in our lives.

We will discuss this in more detail in the next Chapter of Romans.

HOW TO BE SAVED

Sinner friend! Is the Lord Jesus drawing you to come to Him? Do not resist his work in your heart! This means that you have hope, because if your heart is not troubled by your sins and you are perfectly happy to be a sinner apart from God, then you will certainly go to Hell; and later, the Lake of Fire!

There is no hope in the false god “Allah”, for he is the devil! He only wants your destruction!

There is no hope in the false gods of Hinduism or in Buddhism, Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Roman Catholicism, Bahai, or Shintoism; and especially not in witchcraft or Satanism! These are all Satanic religions and will lead you into the Lake of Fire!

Yield yourself to the one true God Jehovah, and repent of your sins and turn to the Lord Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for your sins, and rose again from the dead on the third day! He is the Son of God. Amen.

Jesus Christ is the only Way to Heaven; any other way (Islam, Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Hinduism, Buddhism, Bahai etc) will lead you into Hell.

“Jesus says to him, ‘I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: NO MAN comes to the Father, but through me’” John 14:6.

You can be saved, right now, if you want to know that you have Eternal Life in Heaven waiting for you when you die! Use this prayer to repent and ask Jesus to forgive your sins and to come into your life, right now!

“Lord Jesus, I know that I have sinned against YOU. I am no good, and you are righteous! You are my only hope for salvation! I believe that you died on the cross for my sins, you were buried, and you rose again from the dead on the third day. I want you to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart right now. Forgive me for all my sins, and save my soul. In the mighty Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen!”

Imputation and Declaration are really the same thing, but they show two separate actions that God does for the repentant sinner!

God the Father imputes to the repentant and believing sinner his own righteousness and declares him (or her) to be righteous in his sight. It is basically the same thing, although they are separate actions by God. I show them as separated in this study for convenience, and because there is plenty to say about both of them.

Also, I noticed that if you combine both Imputation and Declaration into one, then you really have the Golden Ratio design in three Biblical doctrines of Salvation!

Unique) Imputation & Declaration: God the Father credits (or imputes) to the believer his own righteousness in response to our faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the cross and declares him (or her) to be righteous in his sight (our new standing or position with God)

Propitiation is what Jesus Christ did for us; Redemption is what Propitiation allows us to do through the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives as we yield ourselves to Him.

Thus, Propitiation and Redemption are two sides of the same coin.

Lo opuesto Pero ahora, la justicia de Dios aparte de la Ley se revela (siendo testificada por la Ley y los Profetas), aun la justicia de Dios cual es a través de la fe de Jesucristo hasta todos y sobre todos los que creen: porque no hay diferencia: porque todos han pecado, y se han quedado cortos de la gloria de Dios; siendo justificados gratuitamente por su gracia mediante la redención que es en Cristo Jesús; quien Dios ha exhibido públicamente, ser una propiciación a través de la fe en su sangre, declarar su justicia para la remisión de los pecados pasados, a través de la paciencia de Dios; para declarar, digo, en este tiempo su justicia; para que Dios sea justo, y el justificador de él quien cree en Jesús.

El complemento ¿Dónde está entonces la jactancia? Es excluyó. ¿Por cuál Ley? ¿De las obras? No, pero por la Ley de la fe; por lo tanto, concluimos que el hombre es justificado por la fe aparte de las obras de la Ley.

El complemento ¿Es él el Dios de los judíos solamente? ¿No es él también el Dios de los gentiles? Si, de los gentiles también: viendo que hay un solo Dios verdadero, quien justificará la circuncisión por la fe y la incircuncisión a través de la misma fe.

Único Entonces, ¿invalidamos la Ley a través de la fe? ¡Ciertamente no! De hecho, establecemos la Ley.

Comentarios: Aquí hay una versión comprimida del esquema de este párrafo. Observe el diseño de la Proporción Áurea al revés: dos opuestos, dos complementarios y uno único:

Único La Ley se establece por la fe en la Obra terminada de Cristo

Ahora quiero examinar, muy brevemente, las doctrinas bíblicas clave que surgen del texto de Romanos 3:21-26. Éste es el núcleo de la fe cristiana. ¡Cualquier cosa diferente a esto no es de Dios!

“Pero ahora, la justicia de Dios aparte de la Ley se revela (siendo testificada por la Ley y los Profetas), aun la justicia de Dios cual es a través de la fe de Jesucristo hasta todos y sobre todos los que creen: porque no hay diferencia: porque todos han pecado, y se han quedado cortos de la gloria de Dios; siendo justificados gratuitamente por su gracia mediante la redención que es en Cristo Jesús; quien Dios ha exhibido públicamente, ser una propiciación a través de la fe en su sangre, declarar su justicia para la remisión de los pecados pasados, a través de la paciencia de Dios; para declarar, digo, en este tiempo su justicia; para que Dios sea justo, y el justificador de él quien cree en Jesús”.

Este texto trata sobre la “Justificación”, que en realidad son cuatro cosas diferentes que le suceden al pecador cuando recibe al Señor Jesucristo como su Salvador personal:

1) Imputación: Dios acredita (o imputa) al creyente su propia justicia en respuesta a nuestra fe en la Obra terminada de Cristo en la cruz.

2) Declaración: Dios declara que el pecador que cree en Jesucristo es justo ante sus ojos (nuestra nueva posición ante Dios)

3) Propiciación: Jesucristo fue una propiciación por los pecados de toda la humanidad en la cruz.

4) Redención: El pecador es redimido del mercado de esclavos del pecado por la Obra terminada de Cristo.

Imputación: Dios acredita (o imputa) al creyente su propia justicia en respuesta a nuestra fe en la Obra terminada de Cristo en la cruz

Romanos 4:3b: “Abraham ‘creyó en [Jehová]; y su fe fue acreditada a él por justicia’”.

Romanos 3:21-23 ““Pero ahora, la justicia de Dios aparte de la Ley se revela (siendo testificada por la Ley y los Profetas), aun la justicia de Dios cual es a través de la fe de Jesucristo hasta todos y sobre todos los que creen: porque no hay diferencia: porque todos han pecado, y se han quedado cortos de la gloria de Dios”.

Romanos 4:6-8: “Como David también describe la bienaventuranza del hombre a quien Dios atribuye justicia sin las obras, diciendo, ‘Bienaventurados aquellos cuyas iniquidades son perdonadas, y cuyos pecados están cubiertos. Bienaventurado el varón a quien [Jehová] no imputará pecado’”.

Cuando nos arrepentimos de nuestros pecados y recibimos a Jesucristo como nuestro Salvador personal, una de las cosas que pasa es que Dios te da (o imputa a ti) su justicia en respuesta a tu arrepentimiento y fe en la Obra terminada de Cristo en la cruz.

Isaías 64:6: “Pero todos somos como cosa inmunda, y todas nuestras obras de justicia son como trapos de inmundicia; y todos nos desvanecemos como una hoja, y nuestras iniquidades, como el viento, nos han llevado”.

¡Necesitamos la justicia de Dios, porque no tenemos justicia propia! ¡Todas nuestras obras de justicia son como trapos de inmundicia a los ojos de Dios!

Muchos dicen: “¡Eso es demasiado fácil! Tenemos que hacer algunas buenas obras para hacernos aceptables a Dios. Dios comparará mis buenas obras con mis malas obras; y si mis buenas obras superan mis malas obras, ¡entonces Dios me recibirá en el Cielo!

Pero no, ese camino sólo conducirá al Infierno y más tarde, ¡al Lago de Fuego! Si alguna vez queremos entrar al Cielo, debemos hacerlo por el Camino que Dios ha provisto, a través de la Obra terminada de Cristo en la cruz.

La Biblia dice que TODAS nuestras obras de justicia son como trapos de inmundicia ante los ojos de Dios. “Trapos de inmundicia” es una referencia a las vendas de tela que los leprosos envolvían alrededor de su carne pútrida y podrida para evitar que se cayera. Puedes imaginar lo malolientes y desagradables que eran esos trapos.

De la misma manera, ¡Dios ve nuestras obras de justicia como trapos sucios, inmundos y malolientes que deberían ser quemados! ¡Son una ofensa a Dios! Amén. Porque Dios es tres veces santo y ni puede permitir que ni siquiera la más mínima partícula de pecado o injusticia entre en su presencia: por lo tanto, Dios sólo acepta las obras puras, perfectas y sin pecado de Jesucristo en su Vida Santa y en su muerte expiatoria por nuestros pecados en la cruz (su Obra terminada) como pago por nuestros pecados. Él nunca aceptará nada de lo que podamos hacer en nuestra vida como pago por nuestros pecados.

Mateo 7:21-23: Jesús dijo, “No todo el que me dice, ‘Señor, Señor’, entrará en el Reino del Cielo; sino el que hace la voluntad de mi Padre quien está en el Cielo. Muchos me dirán en aquel día, diciendo: ‘Señor, Señor, ¿no hemos profetizado en tu Nombre? Y en tu Nombre, ¿no hemos echado fuera demonios? Y en tu Nombre, ¿no hemos hecho muchas obras maravillosas?’. Y entonces yo profesaré a ellos, ‘Nunca os conocí; apartaos de mí, obradores de maldad’.

Si alguna vez queremos entrar al Cielo, debemos hacerlo por el Camino que Dios ha provisto, a través de la Obra terminada de Cristo en la cruz.

Juan 10:1: “Verdaderamente, verdaderamente, os digo: el que no entra por la puerta en el redil de las ovejas, pero se trepa arriba alguna otra manera, lo mismo es un ladrón y salteador”.

Juan 14:6: “Jesús le dijo, ‘Soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida; nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí’”.

Lógicamente entonces, si Dios me ha dado (o me ha acreditado) su justicia en respuesta a mi fe en la Obra terminada de Cristo, ¡mis propias obras son inútiles ante los ojos de Dios! A Dios sólo le importa la Obra terminada de Cristo en la cruz y si le he reconocido mi propia pecaminosidad y que ahora creo en Jesucristo como el Hijo de Dios.

¡Dios no está interesado en sopesar mis buenas obras con mis malas obras, porque todas mis obras justas son como trapos de inmundicia a sus ojos! Está falsa teoría es muy popular en el mundo, ¡pero no se encuentra en la Biblia! Amén.

Declaración: Dios declara que el pecador que cree en Jesucristo es justo ante sus ojos (nuestra nueva posición ante Dios)

Romanos 3:25b: “declarar su justicia para la remisión de los pecados pasados, a través de la paciencia de Dios; para declarar, digo, en este tiempo su justicia; para que Dios sea justo, y el justificador de él quien cree en Jesús”.

Efesios 1:4: “incluso como él nos ha elegido en él antes de la fundación del mundo, que deberíamos ser santos y sin defecto delante de él en amor desinteresado”

¡Esta es nuestra nueva posición o posición ante Dios, debido a nuestra fe en la Obra terminada de Cristo en la cruz!

Romanos 5:1-2: “Por lo tanto, siendo justificados por la fe, tenemos paz con Dios a través de nuestro Señor Jesús Cristo, por quien también tenemos acceso por fe en a esta gracia en la cual estamos firmes, y nos gloriamos en la certeza de la gloria de Dios.

Permítanme ilustrarlo con el concepto de familia: por ser hijo de mi padre y de mi madre, tengo una posición especial con ellos que los hijos del vecino no tienen. Puedo pedir cosas que los hijos del vecino no pueden; ¡Tengo los genes de mis padres y estamos relacionados de una manera especial!

La posición del pecador es similar a la de los hijos del prójimo: un pecador es un extraño a la familia de Dios; un pecador no conoce a Dios de manera personal; él o ella es un extraño, un extraño y un extraño para Dios. Cuando un pecador peca contra Dios, Dios no lo disciplina inmediatamente, porque no es uno de sus niños; la disciplina del pecador viene después de la muerte.

Efesios 2:1-3: “Y ustedes, siendo muerto en vuestro ofensas y pecados, en la que, en el pasado, ustedes caminabais según el curso de esta Era, según el príncipe de la potestad del aire, el espíritu que ahora obra en los hijos de la desobediencia; entre los cuales también todos tuvimos nuestra conducta en tiempos pasados en los deseos de nuestra carne; satisfaciendo los deseos de la carne y de la mente; y nosotros fuimos por naturaleza hijos de ira, como otros, incluso como otros”.

¡Pero un creyente nacido de nuevo en Jesucristo ha sido adoptado en la Familia de Dios! ¡Ya no es un extranjero, un extraño, un forastero! Él es objeto de especial amor y atención de Dios Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo. ¡Es niño del Rey de reyes y Señor de señores! Amén. Esta es su POSICIÓN con Dios que NUNCA CAMBIARÁ. ¡Un hijo una vez, hijo siempre!

Pero ahora que es hijo del Rey, ¡también queda sujeto a la disciplina del Rey su padre!

Hebreos 12:5-8: “Y ustedes ha olvidado la exhortación que habla a ustedes como a niños: “Hijo mío, no desprecies la disciplina de [Jehová], ni desmayes cuando seas reprendido por él: porque quien [Jehová] ama, él disciplina; y él azota a todo hijo que recibe”. Si soportáis el castigo, Dios os trata como con hijos: porque ¿qué hijo es aquel a quien el padre no castiga? Pero si seáis sin el castigo, del cual todos son hechos partícipes, entonces ustedes son ilegítimos, y no sois verdaderamente hijos de Dios”.

Summary: ¡La posición de un creyente en Jesucristo ante Dios es permanente! Un hijo de Dios no puede convertirse jamás en hijo del diablo. Sin embargo, un hijo de Dios puede pecar; y cuando lo hacen, Dios los castiga como lo hace un padre con su hijo al que ama. Si no hay castigo, entonces la persona que profesa ser cristiana es un falso cristiano; no hay verdad en su profesión de ser cristianos.

Propiciación: Jesucristo fue una propiciación por los pecados de toda la humanidad en la cruz

Romanos 3:24: “siendo justificados gratuitamente por su gracia mediante la redención que es en Cristo Jesús”

Romanos 3:25a: “quien Dios ha exhibido públicamente, ser una propiciación a través de la fe en su sangre”

I Juan 2:1-2: “Hijitos míos, estas cosas os escribo, para que no pequéis; pero si alguno hubiere pecado, tenemos un abogado con el Padre, Jesús Cristo el justo. Y él mismo es la propiciación por nuestros pecados; y no sólo por los nuestros, sino también por los pecados de todo el mundo”.

Isaías 53:4-6: “Ciertamente llevó él nuestras enfermedades, y sufrió nuestros dolores; sin embargo, le considerábamos como castigado, herido por Dios y afligido. Pero él fue herido por nuestras transgresiones, él estuvo magullado por nuestras iniquidades; el castigo de nuestra paz estaba sobre él, y con las rayas de él, somos sanados. Todos nosotros, gustan las ovejas, ha ido por mal camino; hemos dado vuelta cada uno a su propio camino; y Jehová ha puesto sobre él la iniquidad de todos nosotros”.

La Obra terminada de Jesucristo en la cruz por nuestros pecados es una “propiciación” o una “expiación”. En otras palabras, Dios satisfizo su ira contra nuestros pecados castigando a Jesús, su Hijo unigénito, en la cruz en nuestro lugar.

Dios odia todo pecado; y todos nuestros pecados deben ser castigados si queremos tener alguna esperanza de entrar en las glorias del Cielo, porque Dios es tres veces santo y no puede permitir ni la más mínima partícula de pecado en su Santo Cielo. O puedes morir y recibir la ira de Dios por tus pecados en el Infierno y más tarde, en el Lago de Fuego por la eternidad; o puedes recibir a Jesucristo como tu Salvador, quien ya recibió la ira de Dios por tus pecados cuando estuvo en la cruz por tres horas. Si te arrepiente y recibes a Cristo como tu Salvador, entonces se te acredita su sufrimiento (su propiciación) y quedarás libre de la ira de Dios para siempre; y el Cielo se convierte en tu hogar, ¡Amén y amén!

Jesús recibió y satisfizo la ira de Dios Padre en la cruz por nuestros pecados, para que si creemos en Jesucristo y lo recibimos como nuestro Salvador personal, entonces su castigo en la cruz nos es acreditado gratuitamente por la gracia de Dios, para que luego escapemos de los fuegos del Infierno y del Lago de Fuego y tengamos el privilegio de entrar al Cielo cuando muramos, todo debido a la propiciación que Cristo hizo por nosotros en la cruz. ¡Aleluya! Amén.

Y debido a que Jesús es el Divino Hijo de Dios, ¡Jesús pudo sufrir vicariamente en nombre de toda la raza humana durante tres horas en la cruz! Amén.

Lucas 24:45-47: “Entonces les abrió el entendimiento, para que comprendiesen las Escrituras; y les dijo, “Así ha sido escrito; y así fue necesario que el Cristo sufriera y resucitara de entre los muertos al tercer día; para que el arrepentimiento y el perdón de los pecados se prediquen en su nombre entre todas las naciones, comenzando en Jerusalén”.

El Islam afirma que Jesús nunca murió en la cruz. Sin embargo, ¡esto no es lo que dice la Biblia! Obviamente, Mahoma MINTIÓ acerca de Jesús y su Obra terminada en la cruz; y hoy está en el infierno. Si crees Mahoma y el Islam, le seguirás. ¡Por favor, no hagas eso! Amén.

Los papas afirman que el sufrimiento de Jesucristo en la cruz no fue suficiente para salvarte; en cambio, dicen que debes asistir a misa, rezar a María en lugar de a Jesús, hacer buenas obras y el sacerdote debe decir la extremaunción por ti, y entonces tal vez, sólo tal vez, seas lo suficientemente bueno para ir al Cielo; ¡pero no saben si eso es cierto o no! ¡Los papas han negado la Obra terminada de Cristo en la cruz, y todos han ido al Infierno o irán allí pronto! ¡No sigas sus mentiras! Amén.

Los hindúes, budistas y sintoístas también afirman que el sufrimiento de Jesucristo en la cruz no fue suficiente para salvarte. Niegan que Jesús fuera Dios; y niegan que Jesús sea el único Camino al Cielo. ¡No sigas sus mentiras hasta el infierno! Amén.

Los liberales también mienten acerca de Jesús y su propiciación en la cruz por nuestros pecados. Afirman que debemos “hacer lo mejor que podamos”, “hacer buenas obras”, “ser buen vecino”, “amarnos unos a otros”; y Dios sopesará nuestras buenas obras con nuestras malas obras; y si nuestras buenas obras superan nuestras malas obras, iremos al Cielo cuando muramos. ¡Esta es una mentira desde Satanás! La Biblia no enseña esto. Amén.

Redención: El pecador es redimido del mercado de esclavos del pecado por la Obra terminada de Cristo

Romanos 3:24: “siendo justificados gratuitamente por su gracia mediante la redención que es en Cristo Jesús”

Romanos 6:17-18: “Pero gracias hasta Dios, que ustedes erais los siervos del pecado; sino habéis obedecido desde corazón la forma de doctrina que os fue entregada. Siendo entonces hechos libres de la naturaleza pecaminosa, ustedes se convirtieron en los siervos de la justicia”.

Romanos 6:22: “Pero ahora, siendo hecho libre desde el naturaleza vieja pecadora y convertirse en siervos a Dios, tenéis vuestro fruto hasta la santidad, y el fin la Vida Eterna”.

Redención es una palabra que se relaciona con el concepto de mercado de esclavos, donde hombres, mujeres, niños y niñas son puestos a la venta al mejor postor para ser esclavos. Un esclavo puede ser “redimido” por alguien que le paga al dueño para soltar al esclavo y le libere.

¡Los pecadores son esclavos del pecado y no pueden dejar de pecar a menos que sean liberados de esa esclavitud! Pero Jesús pagó el precio por todos los pecados en la cruz, lo que significa que sufrió en nuestro lugar. Cuando nos arrepentimos y creemos en la Obra terminada de Cristo en la cruz (su sangre que derramó y su sufrimiento infinito por nuestros pecados), entonces somos REDIMIDOS (o comprados) del mercado de esclavos del pecado; Y nosotros nos volvemos libres desde la pena y del poder del pecado sobre nosotros, para que podamos llegar a ser siervos de la justicia y la santidad, ¡para gloria de Dios! Amén.

¡La esclavitud al pecado trae la muerte!

Romanos 8:13a: “porque si vives según la carne, moriréis;”

Romanos 6:23: “porque la paga del pecado es muerte; pero el don de Dios es Vida Eterna a través de Cristo Jesús Señor nuestro”.

¡Pero la esclavitud a la justicia trae vida, salud y paz! ¡La redención en la Obra terminada de Cristo en la cruz nos da libertad y libertad del poder del pecado! ¡Aleluya!

Pero para poder disfrutar de esta libertad del poder del pecado, ¡debemos rendirnos al control del Espíritu Santo! La libertad del poder del pecado no se logra sin nuestra obediencia activa a Dios.

Fuimos liberados de la pena del pecado (la eternidad en el Infierno y el Lago de Fuego) cuando nos arrepentimos y pusimos nuestra fe y confianza en Jesucristo y su sangre que Él derramó por nosotros en la cruz; pero debemos entregarnos al Espíritu Santo, minuto a minuto, para ser liberados del poder del pecado en nuestras vidas.

Discutiremos esto con más detalle en el próximo Capítulo de Romanos.

Como ser salvado

¡Amigo pecador! ¿El Señor Jesús te está atrayendo a venir a Él? ¡No resistas su obra en tu corazón! Esto significa que tienes esperanza, porque si tu corazón no eres turbado por tus pecados y estás perfectamente feliz de ser pecador apartado de Dios, entonces ciertamente irás al Infierno; y más tarde, ¡el Lago de Fuego!

¡No hay esperanza en el dios falso “Alá”, porque él es el diablo! ¡Él sólo quiere tu destrucción!

¡Entrégate al único Dios verdadero Jehová, y arrepiéntete de tus pecados y vuélvete al Señor Jesucristo, quien murió en la cruz por tus pecados y resucitó de nuevo de entre los muertos al tercer día!

Jesucristo es el único Camino al Cielo; Cualquier otro camino (islam, mormonismo, testigos de Jehová, hinduismo, budismo, bahá’í, etc) te llevará al Infierno.

Juan 14:6 “Jesús le dice: Yo soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida: nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí”.

¡Puedes ser salvado ahora mismo si quieres saber que tienes Vida Eterna en el Cielo, esperándote cuando mueras! Utilice esta oración para arrepentirse y pedirle a Jesús que perdone sus pecados y que entre en su vida, ¡ahora mismo!

“Señor Jesús, sé que he pecado contra USTED. ¡No soy bueno y usted eres justo! Creo que moriste en la cruz por mis pecados, fuiste enterrado y resucitaste de entre los muertos al tercer día. Quiero que vengas a mi vida y seas mi Señor y Salvador. Por favor entra en mi corazón ahora mismo. Perdóname por todos mis pecados y salva mi alma. En el poderoso Nombre de Jesús, oro, ¡Amén!”

Notas finales

¡Imputación y Declaración son en realidad la misma cosa, pero muestran dos acciones separadas que Dios hace por el pecador arrepentido!

Dios el padre imputa al pecador arrepentido y creyente su propia justicia y lo declara justo ante sus ojos. Es básicamente lo mismo, aunque son acciones separadas de Dios. Los muestro separados en este estudio por conveniencia y porque hay mucho que decir sobre ambos.

Además, me di cuenta de si combinas tanta la Imputación como la Declaración en una, ¡entonces realmente tienes el diseño de la Proporción Áurea en tres doctrinas bíblicas de Salvación!

Unique) Imputación & Declaración: Dios el padre acredita (o imputa) al creyente su propia justicia en respuesta a nuestra fe en la Obra terminada de Cristo en la cruz y le declara justo ante sus ojos (nuestra nueva posición o posición con Dios)

Complement) Propiciación: Jesucristo fue una propiciación por los pecados de toda la humanidad en la cruz.

Complement) Redención: El pecador es redimido del mercado de esclavos del pecado por la Obra terminada de Cristo.

La propiciación es lo que Jesucristo hizo por nosotros; La redención es lo que la Propiciación nos permite hacer a través del poder del Espíritu Santo en nuestras vidas cuando nos rendimos a Él.

Por tanto, la Propiciación y la Redención son dos caras de la misma moneda.

¿No es asombrosa la Palabra de Dios? ¡Amén y alabado sea el Señor!
