Romans, Chapter 2.2: Both Jews and Gentiles can only be justified through faith alone in the New Covenant Finished Work of Christ (2:17 - 5:21)

Opposite But now, the righteousness of God apart from the Law is revealed (being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets): even the righteousness of God which is through faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference, because all have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the Redemption that is in Christ Jesus; whom God has displayed publicly, to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the passing over of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness, so that God might be just, and the justifier of him who believes in Jesus.

Complement Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what Law? Of works? No, but by the Law of faith; therefore, we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the Law.

Complement Is he the God of the Jews only? Is he not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also, seeing that there is one true God, who shall justify the circumcision by faith, and the uncircumcision through the same faith.

Unique Do we then make the Law void through faith? Certainly not. In fact, we establish the Law.

Comments: We examined the first subparagraph in this outline last week, which is all about the total depravity of the human soul.

Romans 3:9-20: “What then? Are we Jews better than Gentiles? No, not at all: for we have already demonstrated both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under the curse of sin: as it is written, “No one is righteous; no, not even one. There is no one that understands; there is no one that seeks after God; they have all gone out of the Way; they have together become unprofitable. There are none that do good; no, not even one. Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips, whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; their feet are swift to shed blood. Destruction and misery are in their ways; and they have not known the Way of peace. There is no fear of God before their eyes.” And we know that whatsoever things the Law says, it says to them who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be shut, and all the world may become guilty before God; therefore, by the works of the Law, no flesh shall be justified in his sight: for by the Law is the knowledge of sin.”

For this study, I want to build on the foundation of the previous study and add some more details.

We looked at several relevant texts that helps us to understand what “total depravity” really means:

Romans 3:12-18: “There are none that do good; no, not even one. Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips, WHOSE MOUTH IS FULL OF CURSING AND BITTERNESS; their feet are swift to shed blood. Destruction and misery are in their ways; and they have not known the Way of peace. There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

John 6:44: “No man can come to me, unless the Father who has sent me draws him; and I will raise him up at the Last Day.”

John 12:32: Jesus said, “And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all toward me.”

The word “draw” in John 6:44 is “ελκυση”, which means to drag or pull or draw. Strong’s Greek 1670. The Greek words underneath “draw” in John 6:44 and 12:32 are based on the same root word ἑλκύω.

Therefore, Jesus told us very specifically that after He would be lifted up from the earth (crucified), He would draw or pull ALL MANKIND toward Him; that is to say, toward his Finished Work of salvation on the cross, so that they might be saved.

The word “to draw” does not translate as “regenerate”, as Calvinists want everyone to believe. It means “to draw” or “to pull”. It has nothing to do with regeneration, but everything to do with enlightenment!

They also attempt to say that "all" in John 12:32 means "all of the elect", as a way to get rid of the obvious contradiction of the Bible with Calvinist teaching. But “all” cannot be interpreted as only “the elect”, because Jesus and the Apostles did not limit the Finished Work (the Atonement) of Christ to only a special group of people.

2 Peter 3:9: “The Lord is not slow concerning the fulfillment of his promise (as some men count slackness); but is longsuffering toward us: not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

John 3:16-17: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have Everlasting Life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

“The world” means “the world”; “all” means “all, everyone with no exceptions”. The Bible means what it says; and it says what it means! Amen.

Every soul can potentially be saved

So what does all of this mean?

EVERYONE CAN BE SAVED! Amen. There is no limit on the wideness of the mercy of God toward mankind with the Finished Work of Christ except that they must meet the requirements of the Gospel. Salvation is available to all, IF they are willing to repent of their sins, and to believe in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

Luke 13:3: “I tell you, no; but, unless you repent, you shall all likewise perish.”

Romans 3:21-26: “But now, the righteousness of God apart from the Law is revealed (being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets): even the righteousness of God which is through faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference, because all have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the Redemption that is in Christ Jesus; whom God has displayed publicly, to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the passing over of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness, so that God might be just, and the justifier of him who believes in Jesus.”

The problem with most sinners is not the election of God! It is their unwillingness to repent of their sins and come to Christ to be saved! It is a heart problem, not an election problem in most cases.

I believe that a soul winner can increase the number of people who are willing to repent of their sins and come to Christ to be saved:

Romans 10:14-15: “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, unless they were sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the Gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”

If that is not true, then why send missionaries to preach the Gospel around the world? Sending preachers of the Gospel to foreign lands is a waste of time and money if it has no effect on the number of souls in the Kingdom of God!

But in fact, JESUS COMMANDED US to send missionaries, because where there is more preaching of the Gospel, and more Biblical truth taught among the people, there is also a corresponding increase in the number of souls who are saved! Amen.

Matthew 28:18-20: “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority was given to me in Heaven and upon earth. Therefore go, and train disciples out of all nations; baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And, lo, I am with you always, even until the end of the Age.” Amen.”

But many will still not believe, even when faced with the truth. The problem is the hardness of the human heart, not the election of God!

Someone has said well that, “The same Sun that softens the wax, also hardens the clay.” This is 100% correct. Sinners condemn themselves to the Lake of Fire by their own evil choices and their rejection of the Bible and the Gospel. This is what the Bible says:

John 3:19-20: Jesus said, “And this is the condemnation, that Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness rather than Light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that does evil hates the Light; neither does he come to the Light, lest his deeds should be exposed.”

John 5:39-40: Jesus said, “Search the Scriptures: for in them you think you have Eternal Life; and they are they which testify of me. But you will not come to me, that you might have Life.”

Believers did not choose God; they believed God and obeyed the Gospel

But what about those who do repent and come to Christ to be saved? Did they choose God? No, they responded to the Light of God that they had, and they believed God; they came to Christ and were saved according to the promise of the Gospel!

They did not “choose God”, because they did not know who God was until they heard the Gospel! God sent the Gospel to them in some form or fashion: Gospel tract, radio sermon, Bible reading, witness from a Christian. They believed the Gospel and repented and placed their faith for salvation in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior! That is not “choosing God”; it is responding with faith and obedience to the Gospel command to repent and believe in Jesus Christ.

But what about election? How does that work? We will study the doctrine of election in more detail in Chapter 2.4 of the Letter to the Romans. In that chapter, Paul explains why most of the people of Israel did not believe the Gospel in his day (the first century), and why the stewardship of the Gospel was transferred temporarily to the Gentiles. That chapter is not a complete explanation of how God chooses individual sinners to Heaven or Hell. It is mainly about how and why Israel was set aside concerning their stewardship of the Truth of God.

Three theories of election

But before we get to Chapter 2.4, I want to explain some basic principles that I believe will help you understand the election of God in the Bible.

1) God chooses some to salvation

I believe this theory is correct. There are important figures in the history of the Messianic line and in Bible history: Adam, Noah, Shem, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, Joseph the stepfather of Jesus and Mary the mother of the humanity of Jesus; John the Baptist. Without the direct intervention of God and making sure that they fulfilled his purposes in their lives, they might not have been saved; and therefore, the purposes of God would have been frustrated. God made sure that this did not happen.

The best example is Saul of Tarsus, who was the open and very hostile enemy of the Gospel and of the Christians during the early days after the Resurrection of Christ; but Jesus Christ met him on the road to Damascus in a miracle event that revealed who Jesus really was to Saul; and Saul believed and was saved! But Saul would not have been saved without that miracle of God! That was an excellent example of God choosing a special person to be saved, who would not have been saved without some special event that only God could have done. A soul winner would not have worked with Saul, but God saved him anyway!

Acts 9:15-16: “But the Lord said to him, “Go your way: for he is a chosen vessel to me, to carry my Name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: for I will show him what great things he must suffer for my Name’s sake.”

Abraham is another example, where God met with Abraham in visions while he lived in pagan Ur of the Chaldees, and compelled him to follow Him and over a period of time until he finally did truly believe in Jehovah, and his faith was credited to him for righteousness (Romans 4:2-3). There were no soul winners in the days of Abraham! There were other believers; however, there was no command of God to spread the Gospel around the world; there were no churches preaching the Gospel; and there were no evangelistic crusades in his time! God and God alone made sure that Abraham believed in Him, and so he became the father of many nations, according to the election (the choice) of God.

These men were not won to Christ through hearing the Gospel; but through the direct intervention of God Himself! This is the first kind of election in the Bible.

2) God chose some people to Hell (allegedly)

(e.g. Pharaoh [Romans 9:16], Hitler, Stalin, Putin, Mao, Pol Pot, and many others) so that his purposes in history will be accomplished.

I believe that this theory is not correct, because Romans 9:22 shows that the "vessels of wrath" did it to themselves! God used their unbelief and rebellion against Him to bring his purposes to pass; but they made the bad choices that made themselves vessels of wrath. An accurate translation of Romans 9:22 helps to solve this problem.

Romans 9:22-23: “What if God (determining to show his wrath, and to make his power known) endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath, having prepared themselves for destruction, so that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had before prepared unto glory, even us, whom he has called: not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?” (Kingdom Study Bible)

“Having prepared themselves for destruction” is translated from the middle voice of the Greek word “κατηρτισμενα”: it is a perfect participle, middle or passive voice; which has two possible translations, because of the two possible voices:

1) [Most Bible versions translate it as] “fitted for destruction” (passive voice): in other words, God formed and “fitted” these people for destruction without any choice of their own; and God made these people what they became.

2) “having prepared themselves for destruction” (middle voice); in other words, these people prepared themselves for destruction by their own bad choices.

Calvinism has chosen the passive voice to claim that God chooses certain people to go to Hell, and there is nothing they can do to change that. Most translations agree with the passive voice translation of this word in Romans 9:22, which is why Christians are so confused on this issue.

I believe that Hitler and the others I listed, in theory, COULD HAVE BEEN SAVED, because Jesus died for their sins; however, they had dug themselves into their situation so deeply that they could not get out, and they ended up in Hell, or will soon go there.

Romans 9:16-18: “So then [salvation] is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “Even for this same purpose have I raised you up, that I might show my power in you, and that my Name might be declared throughout all the earth.” Therefore he has mercy on whom he will have mercy; and whom he chooses, he hardens.”

The text says "he hardens", it doesn't say, "he chose them to go to Hell"! That is a very important distinction. There is not a single text in the Bible that says, "God chose [some person] to go to Hell" or anything like that. When a person begins to sin against God, over time, their heart begins to harden against the things of God. This is the normal course of events for every sinner.

It is a miracle of God when God opens the heart of a sinner so that they can hear his voice from the Word of God and the Spirit of God, because when we were born, we were spiritually dead in trespasses and sins. Either they can respond with faith and be saved, or they can respond with rejection and continue on their way into Hell when they die.

I believe that when some people harden their own hearts against God, God judges them by hardening their heart even more, so their sin becomes like quicksand, drawing them down into Hell. But even then, if they repent with all of their heart, and call upon the Lord Jesus to save them, I believe that they can still be saved; however, for such a person, turning to God in repentance and faith becomes much more difficult over time. At some point, it becomes impossible for such a person to repent, because God is no longer listening!

Hebrews 6:4-6: "Because it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit; and have tasted the good Word of God, and the powers of the world to come: if they shall fall away, to renew them again to repentance: seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame."

3) God chooses many to salvation whom He FOREKNOWS (knows ahead of time) will respond to the Gospel and be saved.

MANY are called to salvation and COULD be saved, but few are chosen. Only those whom God knows will obey the Gospel command to repent and believe in Jesus Christ are chosen. The others in this category (who were neither chosen to salvation or chosen to damnation): they refuse the opportunity to be saved or refuse to believe in the spiritual Light that they have; and sadly, they go on to die and they are punished in the Lake of Fire forever and ever, according to their works.

Romans 8:29-30: “for those whom he foreknew, he also predestinated to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover, those whom he predestinated, he also called them; and whom he called, he also justified them; and whom he justified, he also glorified them.”

Matthew 20:16: “So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many are called, but few are chosen.”

Why would Jesus die for the sins of people who refuse to repent and believe the Gospel?

The ultimate purpose of God is to remove sin from the Universe completely, and to create a New Heaven and a New Earth:

2 Peter 3:10-13: “But the Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night: in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with intense heat, the earth also and the works that are in it shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in all holy conduct and godliness; looking for and hastening to the coming of the Day of God; in which the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with intense heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth; in which dwells righteousness.”

Revelation 21:1-4: “And I saw a new Heaven and a new earth: for the first Heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of Heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of Heaven saying, “Behold, the Tabernacle of God is with men; and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people; and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; neither sorrow, nor crying; neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things have passed away.”

The Atonement of Christ on the cross provides for the complete resolution of all sins in the Universe, so that the old Universe can be destroyed and the new Universe created, where no sin will ever enter! Amen.

So I believe that the Bible teaches that God elects some to salvation; God hardens the heart of others who are already in deep rebellion against God as judgment for their rebellion: they can still be saved, but the possibility is small as they sink deeper and deeper into the pit of unbelief.

The rest of mankind can potentially be saved, if they are willing to obey the Gospel command to repent of their sins and come to Christ to be saved! In other words, God knows who will respond to the Gospel and be saved, and so he chose those who will respond to the gospel with repentance and faith. Their obedience to the Gospel command to repent and believe in Christ and the grace of God in response is the reason that they are saved.

Romans 4:2-3: “For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to glory in. But not before God: for what does the Scripture say? Abraham “believed in [Jehovah]; and his faith was credited to him for righteousness.”

Faith is not a meritorious act in itself; it is an action where I admit (confess) that I am a sinner that deserves the Judgment of God on my sins (repentance), and I also ask God to forgive me because I trust in the Final Atonement (or Finished Work) of Christ the Son of God on the cross for my sins. And in response, God graciously forgives my sins and makes me his child, because He has promised to do so.

Romans 10:8-13: “But what does it say? “The Word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart”; that is to say, the Word of faith (which we preach), that if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved: for with the heart, man believes into righteousness; and with the mouth, confession is made into salvation: for the Scripture says, “Whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.” For there is no difference between the Jew and the Gentile: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him: for it is written, “whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.”

In my view, Calvinist teaching of TULIP has poisoned the minds of many believers in this area of theology.

There are two major errors with Calvinism:

1) They claim that God chose some to Hell, even though the Bible doesn't say that at all.

2) They claim that you have either been chosen to Heaven or to Hell; but the Bible teaches an alternative: God chose some special people to Heaven, but that Jesus died for all sinners; and therefore, if a sinner obeys the Gospel call to repent and believe in Jesus Christ, they can be saved!

The Reformers, in their insistence on only the first two types of election, but not the third, have caused a great deal of harm to believers everywhere. This viewpoint teaches that God is responsible for both salvation and damnation; and therefore logically, we don’t need to repent and believe the Gospel, because if we are one of the elect, then we will be saved; and if we are not one of the elect, then we will not be saved. So why bother going to church or seeking to repent and accept Christ as my Savior to be saved? If I am elected by God, that will happen automatically! (According to this false view).

Moreover, if we are saved, we have no responsibility to live a holy life, according to the beliefs of many Calvinists whom I have personally spoken with. They smoke cigarettes, they drink liquor, they live in immorality. Why do they do this? Because they believe that God is in charge of everything and they have no responsibility to do anything for God!

This is not the teaching of the Word of God!

Romans 12:1-2: “Therefore, I exhort you, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice: holy and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this age; but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may discern what is that good, acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

1 Thessalonians 4:2-7: “For you know what commands we gave you by the Lord Jesus: for this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that you should abstain from fornication; that every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor, and not in the passion of evil desire, even as the Gentiles that do not know God; and that no man goes beyond and defrauds his brother in any such matter: for the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. For God has not called us to uncleanness, but to holiness.”

I urge everyone to avoid Reformed churches and Reformed preachers like the plague! They bring false teachings that accomplish nothing except to sow confusion and heresy in the hearts of the children of God that often leads to unholy living. Reformed teaching (Calvinism) sends people to Hell, because they preach the Gospel, but do not invite anyone to come to Christ and be saved! This is wickedness and a betrayal of the Great Commission of Christ to GO to preach the Gospel to every creature!

Avoid any church or pastor that does not give an invitation to sinners to come forward to be saved at the end of the service! (See end notes for more comments.)

I recommend ONLY Fundamental, Independent, Baptist churches! Even among these, you have to be aware that some pastors are preaching Calvinism, so ask him right away if he believes in TULIP or reformed theology.

Pastors and Bible students

If you want your theology to be Biblically correct, you must be able to include all parts of the Bible in your theological teachings, or your theology is not Biblical.

Calvinism fails to do this, because they focus on a few texts to the exclusion of others that contradict their theology. They have to re-interpret texts such as 2 Peter 3:9 or John 3:16 to make them appear to support their Reformed views of election. They will claim that “the world, or whosoever, or all men doesn’t mean everyone, it only means the elect”. This is why Calvinist theology is rife with false teachings!

If you have to reinterpret some texts to make it fit into your theology, your theology has errors! The Bible means what it says and it says what it means; and context always matters for interpretation!

Conclusion

We cannot possibly know who is one of the elect and who is not. That is NOT our job as Christians! Therefore, we must preach the Gospel to EVERY CREATURE under Heaven; AND invite them to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior, with the hope that at least some of them will repent and come to Jesus Christ to receive his free gift of salvation! Amen.

John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have Everlasting Life.”

Mark 16:15-16: “And he said to them, “Go into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature; he that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be damned.”

HOW TO BE SAVED

Sinner friend! Is the Lord Jesus drawing you to come to Him? Do not resist his work in your heart! This means that you have hope, because if your heart is not troubled by your sins and you are perfectly happy to be a sinner apart from God, then you will certainly go to Hell; and later, the Lake of Fire!

There is no hope in the false god “Allah”, for he is the devil! He only wants your destruction!

There is no hope in the false gods of Hinduism or in Buddhism, Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Roman Catholicism, Bahai, or Shintoism; and especially not in witchcraft or Satanism! These are all Satanic religions and will lead you into the Lake of Fire!

There are always exceptions.

Some followers of Calvinism live holy lives; but in my experience, these are a minority. I have known a number of people who claimed to be Calvinists of one kind or another; and their lives were a disgrace to the Gospel, as I previously described. They felt that it did not matter one way or another, since God was responsible for everything, and they believed that they had none. I can see how a sinner can actually like Calvinism, because he believes that he can continue in his sins and it doesn’t matter. I don’t find this belief in the Bible.

There is a range of Calvinist thinking, from extreme hyper-Calvinism (monergism) to some who agree with most points of the TULIP, but say, “We don’t know who the elect are, so let’s preach the Gospel to everyone.” The hyper-Calvinists are the most dangerous, but even a partial TULIP is dangerous theology, because it is all part of Covenant Theology; which is opposed in great measure to Dispensational theology, the most scriptural interpretation of the Bible, because it depends on literal interpretation.

Some Reformed pastors do give invitations to be saved; but to my knowledge, most do not. The more that a pastor preaches on election and TULIP hyper-calvinism, the less the church members will go soul-winning and desire to live holy lives; and eventually, the church will die because of no evangelism. This has been observed for centuries.

El complemento ¿Dónde está entonces la jactancia? Es excluyó. ¿Por cuál Ley? ¿De las obras? No, pero por la Ley de la fe; por lo tanto, concluimos que el hombre es justificado por la fe aparte de las obras de la Ley.

El complemento ¿Es él el Dios de los judíos solamente? ¿No es él también el Dios de los gentiles? Si, de los gentiles también: viendo que hay un solo Dios verdadero, quien justificará la circuncisión por la fe y la incircuncisión a través de la misma fe.

Único Entonces, ¿invalidamos la Ley a través de la fe? ¡Ciertamente no! De hecho, establecemos la Ley.

Comentarios: Examinamos el primer subpárrafo de este esquema la semana pasada, que trata sobre la depravación total del alma humana.

Romanos 3:9-20: “¿Qué, pues? ¿Somos nosotros los judíos mejores que los gentiles? Para este estudio, quiero basarme en la base del estudio anterior y agregar algunos detalles más.

Analizamos varios textos relevantes que nos ayudan a comprender lo que realmente significa “depravación total”:

Romanos 3:12-18: “No hay quien haga el bien; no, ni siquiera uno. La garganta de ellos es una tumba abierta; con la lengua, ellos han usado engaño; el veneno de las áspides está debajo de sus labios, cuya boca está llena de maldiciones y amarguras; los pies de ellos son veloces para derramar sangre. Destrucción y miseria están en sus caminos; y no han conocido el Camino de la paz. No hay temor de Dios delante de sus ojos”.

Juan 6:44: “Nadie puede venir a mí, a menos que el Padre que me ha enviado le atrae; y yo lo resucitaré en el Día Postrero”.

Juan 12:32: Jesús dijo, “Y yo, si fuere levantado de la tierra, atraeré todos hacia mí”.

La palabra “atrae” en Juan 6:44 es “ελκυση”, que significa arrastrar o tirar o atraer. Griego de Strong 1670. Las palabras griegas debajo “atrae” en Juan 6:44 y 12:32 se basan en la misma raíz de la palabra ἑλκύω.

Por lo tanto, Jesús nos dijo muy específicamente que después de ser levantado de la tierra (crucificado), Él atraería a TODA LA HUMANIDAD hacia Él; es decir, hacia su Obra terminada de salvación en la cruz, para que sean salvados.

La palabra “atraer” no se traduce como “regenerar”, como los calvinistas quieren que todos crean. Significa “atraer” o “tirar”. ¡No tiene nada que ver con la regeneración!

También intentan decir que "todos" en Juan 12:32 significa "todos los elegidos", como una forma de deshacerse de la obvia contradicción de la Biblia con las enseñanzas calvinistas.

Pero “toda [la humanidad]” no puede interpretarse solo como “los elegidos”, porque Jesús y los Apóstoles no limitaron la Obra Terminada (la Expiación) de Cristo solo a un grupo especial de personas.

2 Pedro 3:9: “El Señor no es lento en relación con el cumplimiento de su promesa (como algunos hombres consideran la lentitud); pero es paciente para con nosotros: no dispuesto a que cualquiera debería perecer, sino que todo debería venir al arrepentimiento”.

Juan 3:16-17: “Porque Dios amó tanto al mundo, que él dio a su Hijo unigénito, que cualquiera que cree en él no deberían perecer, sino tener Vida Eterna. Porque Dios no envió a su Hijo al mundo para condenar al mundo; pero que el mundo a través de él pueda salvarse”.

“El mundo” significa “el mundo”; “todos” significa “todos sin excepciones”. La Biblia quiere decir lo que dice; ¡Y dice lo que significa! Amén.

Cada alma puede salvarse potencialmente

Entonces, ¿qué significa todo esto?

¡TODOS PUEDEN SER SALVADOS! Amén. No hay límite en la amplitud de la misericordia de Dios hacia la humanidad con la Obra terminada de Cristo, excepto que deben cumplir con los requisitos del Evangelio. La salvación está disponible para todos, SI están dispuestos a arrepentirse de sus pecados y a creer en Jesucristo como su Salvador personal.

Lucas 13:3: “Os digo, no; pero, a menos que os arrepientas, todos pereceréis igualmente”.

Romans 3:21-26: “Pero ahora, la justicia de Dios aparte de la Ley se revela (siendo testificada por la Ley y los Profetas), aun la justicia de Dios cual es a través de la fe de Jesucristo hasta todos y sobre todos los que creen: porque no hay diferencia: porque todos han pecado, y se han quedado cortos de la gloria de Dios; siendo justificados gratuitamente por su gracia mediante la redención que es en Cristo Jesús; quien Dios ha exhibido públicamente, ser una propiciación a través de la fe en su sangre, declarar su justicia para la remisión de los pecados pasados, a través de la paciencia de Dios; para declarar, digo, en este tiempo su justicia; para que Dios sea justo, y el justificador de él quien cree en Jesús”.

¡El problema con la mayoría de los pecadores no es la elección de Dios! ¡Es su falta de voluntad para arrepentirse de sus pecados y venir a Cristo para ser salvados! Es un problema cardíaco, no un problema electoral en la mayoría de los casos.

Creo que un ganador de almas puede aumentar el número de personas que estén dispuestas a arrepentirse de sus pecados y venir a Cristo para ser salvados:

Romanos 10:14-15: “¿Cómo, pues, invocarán a aquel en quien no han creído? ¿Y cómo creerán en él de quien no han oído? ¿Y cómo oirán sin predicador? ¿Y cómo predicarán a menos que fueran enviados? Como está escrito, “¡Cuán hermosos son los pies de los que anuncian el Evangelio de la paz, y trae buenas nuevas de las cosas buenas!”.

Si eso no es cierto, ¿por qué entonces enviar misioneros a predicar el Evangelio por todo el mundo? ¡Enviar predicadores del Evangelio a tierras extranjeras es una pérdida de tiempo y dinero si no tiene ningún efecto sobre el número de almas en el Reino de Dios!

Pero en realidad, JESÚS NOS MANDÓ que enviemos misioneros, porque donde hay más predicación del Evangelio, y más verdad bíblica enseñada entre la gente, ¡también hay un aumento correspondiente en el número de almas que se salvan! Amén.

Mateo 28:18-20: “Y Jesús vino y les habló, diciendo, “Toda autoridad me ha sido dado en el Cielo y sobre la tierra. Por tanto, id, y haced discípulos de todas las naciones, bautizándoles en el Nombre del Padre, y del Hijo, y del Espíritu Santo; enseñándoles observar todas las cosas que os he mandado. Y, he aquí, yo estoy con ustedes todos los días, hasta el fin de la Edad”. Amén”.

Pero muchos todavía no creerán, incluso cuando se enfrenten a la verdad. ¡El problema es la dureza del corazón humano, no la elección de Dios!

Alguien ha dicho bien que “El mismo Sol que ablanda la cera, también endurece la arcilla”. Esto es 100% correcto. Los pecadores se condenan a sí mismos al Lago de Fuego por sus propias malas decisiones y su rechazo de la Biblia y el Evangelio. Esto es lo que dice la Biblia:

Juan 3:19-20: Jesús dijo, “Y esta es la condena, que la Luz ha venido al mundo, pero los hombres amaban más la oscuridad que la Luz, porque sus obras eran malas: porque todo el que hace el mal odia la Luz; tampoco él viene a la Luz, para que sus obras no queden expuestas”.

Juan 5:39-40: Jesús dijo, “Escudriñad las Escrituras: porque en ellos, creéis que tenéis Vida Eterna; y ellas son las que dan testimonio de mí. Pero no vendréis a mí, para que tengáis vida”.

Los creyentes no eligieron a Dios; creyeron a Dios y obedecieron el evangelio

Pero ¿qué pasa con aquellos que se arrepienten y vienen a Cristo para ser salvados? ¿Eligieron a Dios? No, ellos respondieron a la Luz de Dios que tenían, y le creyeron a Dios; ¡Vinieron a Cristo y fueron salvados según la promesa del Evangelio!

¡No “eligieron a Dios”, porque no sabían quién era Dios hasta que escucharon el Evangelio! Dios les envió el Evangelio de alguna forma o modo: tratado evangélico, sermón por radio, lectura de la Biblia, testimonio de un cristiano. ¡Creyeron en el Evangelio, se arrepintieron y pusieron su fe para la salvación en Jesucristo como su Salvador personal! Eso no es “elegir a Dios”; es responder con fe y obediencia al mandamiento del Evangelio de arrepentirse y creer en Jesucristo.

¿Qué pasa con la elección de Dios? ¿Cómo funciona? Estudiaremos la doctrina de la elección con más detalle en el Capítulo 2.4 de la Carta a los Romanos. En ese capítulo, Pablo explica por qué la mayoría del pueblo de Israel no creía en el Evangelio en su época (el primer siglo), y por qué la mayordomía del Evangelio fue transferida temporalmente a los gentiles. Ese capítulo ni es una explicación completa de cómo Dios elige a los pecadores individuales para el Cielo o el Infierno. Se trata principalmente de cómo y por qué Israel fue dejado de lado en cuanto a su mayordomía de la Verdad de Dios.

Tres teorías de la elección

Pero antes de llegar al Capítulo 2.4, quiero explicar algunos principios básicos que creo que le ayudarán a comprender la elección de Dios en la Biblia.

Creo que la Biblia habla de tres tipos diferentes de elección:

1) Dios elige a algunos para la salvación

Porque son figuras importantes en la historia del linaje mesiánico y en la historia bíblica: Adán, Noé, Sem, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, José el padrastro de Jesús y María la madre de la humanidad de Jesús, Juan Bautista. Sin la intervención directa de Dios y sin asegurarse de que cumplieran sus propósitos en sus vidas, es posible que no hubieran sido salvados; y por tanto, los propósitos de Dios habrían sido frustrados. Dios se aseguró de que esto no sucediera.

El mejor ejemplo es Saulo de Tarso, que fue enemigo abierto y muy hostil del Evangelio y de los cristianos durante los primeros días después de la Resurrección de Cristo; pero Jesucristo lo encontró en el camino a Damasco en un evento milagroso que le reveló a Saulo quién era realmente Jesús; ¡Y Saúl creyó y fue salvado! ¡Pero Saúl no habría sido salvado sin ese milagro de Dios! Ese fue un excelente ejemplo de cómo Dios escogió a una persona especial para ser salvado, que no habría sido salvado sin algún evento especial que solo Dios podría haber hecho. Un ganador de almas no habría trabajado con Saúl, ¡pero Dios lo salvó de todos modos!

Hechos 9:15-16: “Pero le dijo el Señor, “Sigue tu camino, porque él es un instrumento elegido para mí, para llevar mi nombre ante los gentiles, los reyes y los hijos de Israel: porque le mostraré a él las grandes cosas que debe sufrir por el bien de mi Nombre”.

Abraham es otro ejemplo, donde Dios se encontró con Abraham en visiones mientras vivía en la pagana Ur de los caldeos; y lo obligó a seguirlo y durante un período de tiempo hasta que finalmente creyó verdaderamente en Jehová, y su fe le fue acreditada por justicia (Romanos 4:2-3). ¡No había ganadores de almas en los días de Abraham! Había otros creyentes; sin embargo, no hubo ningún mandato de Dios para difundir el Evangelio en todo el mundo; no había iglesias que predicaran el evangelio; ¡Y no hubo cruzadas evangelísticas en su época! Dios y sólo Dios se aseguró de que Abraham creyera en Él, y así llegó a ser padre de muchas naciones, según la elección (la elección) de Dios.

Estos hombres no fueron ganados para Cristo escuchando el Evangelio; ¡sino mediante la intervención directa de Dios mismo! Este es el primer tipo de elección en la Biblia.

2) Dios eligió a algunos para el infierno (supuestamente)

(Por ejemplo, Faraón [Romanos 9:16], Hitler, Stalin, Putin, Mao, Pol Pot y muchos otros) para que sus propósitos en la historia se cumplan. Creo que esta lista es relativamente pequeña en comparación con el total de todos los humanos que alguna vez han vivido; pero sólo Dios lo sabe con certeza.

¡Creo que esta teoría no es correcta, porque Romanos 9:22 muestra que los "vasos de ira" se lo hicieron a sí mismos!

Dios usó su incredulidad y rebelión contra Él para llevar a cabo sus propósitos; pero tomaron mal decisiones que los convirtieron ellos mismos en vasos de ira. Una traducción precisa de Romanos 9:22 ayuda a resolver este problema.

Romanos 9:22-23: "¿Qué si Dios, determinado a mostrar su ira, y a hacer notorio su poder, soportó con mucha paciencia los vasos de ira, habiendo preparado ellos mismos para la destrucción, para que él pudiere hacer conocido las riquezas de su gloria para con los vasos de misericordia que él preparó de antemano para gloria, incluso nosotros, a quien el ha llamado: no sólo de los judíos, sino también de los gentiles?".

“habiendo preparado ellos mismos para la destrucción” se traduce de la voz media de la palabra griega. “κατηρτισμενα”: es participio perfecto, voz media o pasiva; que tiene dos posibles traducciones, debido a las dos posibles voces:

1) [La mayoría de las versiones de la Biblia lo traducen como] “preparado para la destrucción” (voz pasiva): en otras palabras, Dios formó y “preparó” a estas personas para la destrucción sin ninguna elección propia; y Dios hizo de estas personas lo que llegaron a ser.

2) “habiendo preparado ellos mismos para la destrucción” (voz media); en otras palabras, estas personas se prepararon ellos mismos para la destrucción por sus propias malas decisiones.

El calvinismo ha elegido la voz pasiva para afirmar que Dios ha elegido a ciertas personas para ir al infierno, y no hay nada que puedan hacer para cambiar eso. La mayoría de las traducciones concuerdan con la traducción en voz pasiva de esta palabra en Romanos 9:22, razón por la cual los cristianos están tan confundidos sobre este tema.

Creo que incluso Hitler y los demás que enumeré, en teoría, PODRÍAN HABER SIDO SALVADOS, porque Jesús murió por sus pecados; sin embargo, se habían hundido tan profundamente en su situación que no pudieron salir, y terminaron en el infierno, o pronto irán allí.

Romanos 9:16-18: “Entonces [la salvación] no es de él quien quiere, ni del que corre, sino de Dios que tiene misericordia: porque la Escritura dice a Faraón, “Incluso para este mismo propósito te he levantado, para que pueda mostrar mi poder en ti, y que mi nombre podría ser declarado a lo largo de toda la tierra”. Por lo tanto, tiene misericordia de quien él tendrá misericordia; y al que elige, él endurece”.

¡El texto dice "él se endurece", no dice, "los eligió para ir al infierno"! Ésa es una distinción muy importante. No hay un solo texto en la Biblia que diga: "Dios eligió [a alguna persona] para ir al infierno" ni nada por el estilo.

Cuando una persona comienza a pecar contra Dios, con el tiempo, su corazón comienza a endurecerse contra las cosas de Dios. Este es el curso normal de los acontecimientos para todo pecador. Es un milagro de Dios cuando Dios abre el corazón de un pecador para que pueda escuchar su voz desde la Palabra de Dios y el Espíritu de Dios, porque cuando nacimos, estábamos espiritualmente muertos en delitos y pecados. O pueden responder con fe y ser salvados, o pueden responder con rechazo y continuar su camino hacia el infierno cuando mueran.

Creo que cuando algunas personas endurecen sus corazones contra Dios, Dios los juzga endureciendo aún más su corazón, por lo que su pecado se vuelve como arenas movedizas, arrastrándolos al infierno. Pero incluso entonces, si se arrepienten de todo corazón e invocan al Señor Jesús para que los salve, creo que todavía pueden ser salvados; sin embargo, para esa persona, volverse a Dios en arrepentimiento y fe se vuelve mucho más difícil con el tiempo. En algún momento, a esa persona le resulta imposible arrepentirse, porque ¡Dios ya no está escuchando!

Hebreos 6:4-6: "Porque es imposible para aquellos quien una vez fueron iluminados, y han probado el don celestial, y han sido hechos partícipes del Espíritu Santo; y han probado la buena Palabra de Dios y los poderes del mundo venidero: si ellos caerán lejos, para renovarlos nuevamente al arrepentimiento: viendo que crucifican el Hijo de Dios a sí mismos de nuevo, y le ponen a una vergüenza abierta."

3) Dios elige para la salvación a muchos a quienes Él SABE (sabe de antemano) que responderán al Evangelio y serán salvados.

MUCHOS son llamados a la salvación y PODRÍAN ser salvados, pero pocos son elegidos. Sólo son elegidos aquellos que Dios sabe que obedecerán el mandamiento del Evangelio de arrepentirse y creer en Jesucristo.

Los demás en esta categoría (que no fueron elegidos para salvación ni elegidos para condenación): rechazan la oportunidad de ser salvados o se niegan a creer en la Luz espiritual que tienen; y tristemente pasan a morir y son castigados en el Lago de Fuego por los siglos de los siglos, según sus obras.

Romanos 8:29-30: “para aquellos a quienes él conoció de antemano, también los predestinó a ser conformados a la imagen de su Hijo, para que él sea el primogénito entre muchos hermanos. Además, a los quien él predestinó, también él llamó a ellos; y los quien él llamó, también él justificó a ellos; y los quien justificó, también él glorificó a ellos”.

Mateo 20:16: “Así que los últimos serán los primeros, y los primeros los últimos, porque muchos son llamados, pero pocos son escogidos”.

¿Por qué moriría Jesús por los pecados de personas que se niegan a arrepentirse y creer al Evangelio?

El propósito final de Dios es eliminar completamente el pecado del Universo y crear un Cielo Nuevo y una Tierra Nueva:

2 Pedro 3:10-13: “Pero el día del Señor vendrá como ladrón en la noche; en el cual los cielos pasarán con grande estruendo, y los elementos se derretirán con un calor intenso, y la tierra y las obras que en ella hay serán quemadas. Puesto que todas estas cosas han de ser deshechas, ¿cómo no debéis ustedes de conduciros en santa y piadosa manera de vivir? Esperando y apresurándoos para la venida del día de Dios, en el cual los cielos, siendo encendidos, serán deshechos, y los elementos siendo quemados, se fundirán. Pero esperamos según su promesa, cielos nuevos y tierra nueva, en los cuales mora la justicia”.

La revelación 21:1-4: “Y vi un Cielo nuevo y una tierra nueva: porque el primer Cielo y la primera tierra habían pasado; y el mar no existía ya más. Y yo Juan vi la ciudad santa, la nueva Jerusalén, que descendía desde Dios fuera de Cielo, dispuesta como una novia ataviada para su marido. Y escuché una gran voz desde el Cielo, diciendo, “He aquí, el Tabernáculo de Dios es con los hombres, y él morará con ellos; y ellos serán su pueblo, y Dios mismo estará con ellos, y será el dios de ellos. Y Dios enjugará todas las lágrimas de los ojos de ellos; y no habrá más muerte; ni tristeza ni llanto; ni habrá más dolor, porque las cosas anteriores han pasado”.

La expiación de Cristo en la cruz prevé la resolución completa de todos los pecados en el Universo, para que el viejo Universo pueda ser destruido y el nuevo Universo creado, ¡donde ningún pecado jamás entrará! Amén.

Entonces creo que la Biblia enseña que Dios elige a unos para la salvación; Dios endurece el corazón de otros que ya están en profunda rebelión contra Dios como juicio por su rebelión: todavía pueden ser salvados, pero la posibilidad es pequeña a medida que se hunden cada vez más en el pozo de la incredulidad.

El resto de la humanidad potencialmente puede salvarse, si están dispuestos a obedecer el mandamiento del Evangelio de arrepentirse de sus pecados y venir a Cristo para ser salvados. En otras palabras, Dios sabe quien responderán al Evangelio y serán salvados, y por eso eligió a aquellos que responderán al Evangelio con arrepentimiento y fe. Su obediencia al mandato del Evangelio de arrepentirse y creer en Cristo y la gracia de Dios en respuesta es la razón por la que son salvados.

Romanos 4:2-3: “Porque si Abraham fue justificado por las obras, tiene algo de lo que gloriarse. Pero no delante Dios: porque ¿qué dice la Escritura? Abraham “creyó en [Jehová]; y su fe fue acreditada a él por justicia”.

La fe no es un acto meritorio en sí mismo; es una acción donde admito (confieso) que soy un pecador que merece el Juicio de Dios sobre mis pecados (arrepentimiento), y también le pido a Dios que me perdone porque confío en la Expiación Final (o Obra Terminada) de Cristo el Hijo de Dios en la cruz por mis pecados. Y en respuesta, Dios misericordiosamente perdona mis pecados y me hace su hijo, porque Él ha prometido hacerlo.

Romanos 10:8-13: “Pero ¿qué dice? “La Palabra está cerca de ti, incluso en tu boca y en tu corazón”, es decir, la Palabra de fe (que predicamos), que si confesarás con tu boca al Señor Jesús, y creerás en tu corazón que Dios le levantó de los muertos, tú serás salvado: porque con el corazón, el hombre cree para justicia, y con la boca, la confesión se hace para la salvación: porque la Escritura dice, “cualquiera que en él creyere, no será avergonzado”. Porque no hay diferencia entre el judio y el gentil: porque el mismo Señor sobre todo es rico a todos los que le invocan: porque [está escrito], “Cualquiera que llamará sobre el Nombre del Señor será salvado”.

En mi opinión, la enseñanza calvinista de TULIP ha envenenado las mentes de muchos creyentes en esta área de la teología.

Hay dos errores principales con el calvinismo:

1) Afirman que Dios eligió a algunos para el infierno, aunque la Biblia no dice eso en absoluto.

2) Afirman que has sido elegido para el cielo o para el infierno; pero la Biblia enseña una alternativa: Dios escogió algunas personas especiales para el Cielo, pero Jesús murió por todos los pecadores; y por lo tanto, si un pecador obedece el llamado del Evangelio a arrepentirse y creer en Jesucristo, ¡puede ser salvado!

Los reformadores, al insistir sólo en los dos primeros tipos de elección, pero no en el tercero, han causado mucho daño a los creyentes en todas partes. Este punto de vista enseña que Dios es responsable tanto de la salvación como de la condenación; y por lo tanto lógicamente, no necesitamos arrepentirnos y creer en el Evangelio, porque si somos uno de los elegidos, entonces seremos salvados; y si no somos uno de los elegidos, entonces no seremos salvados. Entonces, ¿por qué molestarse en ir a la iglesia o buscar arrepentirme y aceptar a Cristo como mi Salvador para ser salvado? ¡Si soy elegido por Dios, eso sucederá automáticamente! (Según está falsa opinión).

Además, si somos salvados, no tenemos la responsabilidad de vivir una vida santa, según las creencias de muchos calvinistas con quienes he hablado personalmente. Fuman cigarrillos, beben licor, viven en inmoralidad. ¿Por qué hacen esto? ¡Porque creen que Dios está a cargo de todo y no tienen ninguna responsabilidad de hacer nada por Dios!

¡Está no es la enseñanza de la Palabra de Dios!

Romanos 12:1-2: “Por tanto, yo os exhorto, hermanos, por las misericordias de Dios, que presentéis vuestros cuerpos como un sacrificio vivo: santo y aceptable para Dios, cual es vuestro servicio razonable. Y no os conforméis a este edad; sino sé transformado por la renovación de vuestra mente, para que puedas discernir cuál es esa buena, aceptable y perfecta voluntad de Dios”.

1 Tesalonicenses 4:2-7: “Porque ya sabéis qué Mandamientos os dimos por el Señor Jesús: porque ésta es la voluntad de Dios, vuestra santificación; que os abstengáis de fornicación; que cada uno de ustedes sepa tener su vaso en santificación y honor; no en pasión de concupiscencia, como los gentiles que no conocen a Dios. Que ninguno agravie ni tome ventaja de su hermano, en nada: porque el Señor es vengador de todo esto, como ya os hemos dicho y protestado: porque no nos ha llamado Dios a la inmundicia, sino a la santidad”.

¡Insto a todos a que eviten las iglesias reformadas y los predicadores reformados como si fueran una plaga! Traen enseñanzas falsas que no logran nada excepto sembrar confusión y herejía en los corazones de los hijos de Dios que a menudo conducen a una vida impía. La enseñanza reformada (calvinismo) envía a la gente al infierno porque predican el Evangelio, ¡pero no invitan a nadie a venir a Cristo y ser salvado! ¡Esto es maldad y una traición a la Gran Comisión de Cristo de IR a predicar el Evangelio a toda criatura!

¡Evite cualquier iglesia o pastor que no invite a los pecadores a presentarse para ser salvados al final del servicio! (Consulte las notas finales para obtener más comentarios).

¡Recomiendo SÓLO iglesias bautistas fundamentales, independientes! Incluso entre estos, debes tener en cuenta que algunos pastores están predicando el calvinismo, así que pregúntale de inmediato si cree en TULIP o en la teología reformada.

Pastores y estudiantes de la biblia

Si desea que su teología sea bíblicamente correcta, debe poder incluir todas las partes de la Biblia en sus enseñanzas teológicas, o su teología no es bíblica.

El calvinismo no logra hacer esto porque se centra en unos pocos textos y excluye otros que contradicen su teología. Tienen que reinterpretar textos como 2 Pedro 3:9 o Juan 3:16 para hacerlos parecer apoyar sus puntos de vista reformados sobre la elección. Afirmarán que “el mundo, o quienquiera, o todos los hombres, no significa todos, significa sólo los elegidos”. ¡Es por eso que la teología calvinista está plagada de enseñanzas falsas!

Si tienes que reinterpretar algunos textos para que encajen en tu teología, ¡tu teología tiene errores! La Biblia quiere decir lo que dice y dice lo que significa; ¡Y el contexto siempre importa para la interpretación!

Conclusión

No podemos saber quién es uno de los elegidos y quién no. ¡Ese NO es nuestro trabajo como cristianos! Por lo tanto, debemos predicar el Evangelio a TODA CRIATURA bajo el Cielo; E invitarlos a recibir a Jesucristo como su Salvador, con la esperanza de que al menos algunos de ellos se arrepientan y vengan a Jesucristo para recibir su regalo gratuito de salvación. Amén.

Juan 3:16: “Porque Dios amó tanto al mundo, que él dio a su Hijo unigénito, que cualquiera que cree en él no deberían perecer, sino tener Vida Eterna”.

Marcos 16:15-16: “Y les dijo, “Id a todo el mundo y predicad el Evangelio a toda criatura. Él que creyere y fuere bautizado, será salvado; pero él que no creyere, será condenado”.

Como ser salvado

¡Amigo pecador! ¿El Señor Jesús te está atrayendo a venir a Él? ¡No resistas su obra en tu corazón! Esto significa que tienes esperanza, porque si tu corazón no eres turbado por tus pecados y estás perfectamente feliz de ser pecador apartado de Dios, entonces ciertamente irás al Infierno; y más tarde, ¡el Lago de Fuego!

¡No hay esperanza en el dios falso “Alá”, porque él es el diablo! ¡Él sólo quiere tu destrucción!

¡Entrégate al único Dios verdadero Jehová, y arrepiéntete de tus pecados y vuélvete al Señor Jesucristo, quien murió en la cruz por tus pecados y resucitó de nuevo de entre los muertos al tercer día!

Jesucristo es el único Camino al Cielo; Cualquier otro camino (islam, mormonismo, testigos de Jehová, hinduismo, budismo, bahá’í, etc) te llevará al Infierno.

Juan 14:6 “Jesús le dice: Yo soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida: nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí”.

¡Puedes ser salvado ahora mismo si quieres saber que tienes Vida Eterna en el Cielo, esperándote cuando mueras! Utilice esta oración para arrepentirse y pedirle a Jesús que perdone sus pecados y que entre en su vida, ¡ahora mismo!

“Señor Jesús, sé que he pecado contra USTED. ¡No soy bueno y usted eres justo! Creo que moriste en la cruz por mis pecados, fuiste enterrado y resucitaste de entre los muertos al tercer día. Quiero que vengas a mi vida y seas mi Señor y Salvador. Por favor entra en mi corazón ahora mismo. Perdóname por todos mis pecados y salva mi alma. En el poderoso Nombre de Jesús, oro, ¡Amén!”

Notas finales

Siempre hay excepciones.

Algunos seguidores del calvinismo viven vidas santas; pero en mi experiencia, estos son una minoría. He conocido a varias personas que afirmaban ser calvinistas de un tipo u otro; y sus vidas fueron una vergüenza para el Evangelio, como lo describí anteriormente. Sentían que no importaba de una forma u otra, ya que Dios era responsable de todo, y creían que ellos no tenían ninguno. Puedo ver cómo a un pecador realmente le puede gustar el calvinismo, porque cree que puede continuar en sus pecados y eso no importa. No encuentro esta creencia en la Biblia.

Hay una variedad de pensamiento calvinista, desde el hiper-calvinismo extremo (monergismo) hasta algunos que están de acuerdo con la mayoría de los puntos del TULIP, pero dicen: “No sabemos quiénes son los elegidos, así que prediquemos el Evangelio a todos”. Los hiper-calvinistas son los más peligrosos, pero incluso un TULIP parcial es una teología peligrosa, porque todo es parte de la Teología del Pacto; lo cual se opone en gran medida a la teología dispensacional, la interpretación más escritural de la Biblia, porque depende de la interpretación literal.

Algunos pastores reformados invitan a ser salvados; pero que yo sepa, la mayoría no lo hace. Cuanto más predique un pastor sobre la elección y el hiper-calvinismo TULIP, menos serán los miembros de la iglesia quienes ganarán almas y deseo de vivir vidas santas; y eventualmente, la iglesia morirá por falta de evangelización. Esto se ha observado durante siglos.
