Romans, Chapter 2.2: Both Jews and Gentiles can only be justified through faith alone in the New Covenant Finished Work of Christ (2:17 - 5:21)

§Complement Introduction: Even the most religious person possible is condemned by the Law of Moses (2:17 - 3:8)

¶Opposite The proud Jew’s profession of faith in God is destroyed by his breaking of the Law of Moses (2:17 - 29)

¶Opposite God is always righteous in everything that He does, including judging sin (3:1 - 8)

Opposite What then? Are we Jews better than Gentiles? No, not at all: for we have already demonstrated both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under the curse of sin: as it is written, “No one is righteous; no, not even one. There is no one that understands; there is no one that seeks after God; they have all gone out of the Way; they have together become unprofitable. There are none that do good; no, not even one. Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips, whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; their feet are swift to shed blood. Destruction and misery are in their ways; and they have not known the Way of peace. There is no fear of God before their eyes.” And we know that whatsoever things the Law says, it says to them who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be shut, and all the world may become guilty before God; therefore, by the works of the Law, no flesh shall be justified in his sight: for by the Law is the knowledge of sin.

Opposite But now, the righteousness of God apart from the Law is revealed (being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets): even the righteousness of God which is through faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference, because all have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the Redemption that is in Christ Jesus; whom God has displayed publicly, to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the passing over of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness, so that God might be just, and the justifier of him who believes in Jesus.

Complement Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what Law? Of works? No, but by the Law of faith; therefore, we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the Law.

Complement Is he the God of the Jews only? Is he not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also, seeing that there is one true God, who shall justify the circumcision by faith, and the uncircumcision through the same faith.

Unique Do we then make the Law void through faith? Certainly not. In fact, we establish the Law.

Comments: Now, my friends, we come to the heart of the letter to the Romans, which is an in-depth explanation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There is a lot of doctrine to unpack in this paragraph, so I will focus only on the first sub-paragraph for this study.

Notice that the theme of this paragraph is:

¶Unique Both Jews and Gentiles can be justified by the same God through their faith in the Finished Work of Jesus Christ (3:9 - 31)

The wording of this theme is very important, because I believe that it captures the inspired intent of the Apostle Paul, which was to show that the Jews and the Gentiles are on the same level before God in the matter of SIN.

Every human (Jew or Gentile) descends from the same Adam and Eve in Genesis. Jews and Gentiles have the same red blood, the same humanity, and the same SIN in common. The only difference is that the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob have specific promises and covenants from God that the Gentiles do not have, because God has chosen them for his special purposes in the history and the future of humanity.

Every human being is equally GUILTY BEFORE GOD:

Romans 3:9-10: “What then? Are we [Jews] better than [Gentiles]? No, not at all: for we have already demonstrated both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under the curse of sin: as it is written, “No one is righteous; no, not even one.”

Notice that Paul taught that every human being is completely dead to God because of sin. Jesus Christ was the single exception, because He is both God and Man.

Romans 3:11-12: “There is no one that understands; there is no one that seeks after God; they have all gone out of the Way; they have together become unprofitable. There are none that do good; no, not even one.”

This is referring to the “old sin nature” that we were conceived with.

Psalm 51:5: “Behold, I was shaped in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.”

Jeremiah 17:9: “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked. Who can know it?”

2 Chronicles 16:36: “...for there is no man who does not sin)...”

This sin nature was transmitted to us through our fathers, not our mothers; therefore, when we were conceived in our mother’s womb, we were already corrupted in our soul with the curse of sin. This is why children immediately know how to tell lies and steal! Mom: “Who stole a cookie?” Kids: “Not me!”

Romans 5:12: “Therefore, as by one man, that is, Adam, sin entered into the world, and death through his sin; and so death passed upon all men, because all have sinned.”

Even the very best human being is completely corrupted by the curse of sin in their souls:

Ephesians 2:1-3: “And you, being dead in trespasses and sins; in which, in time past, you walked according to the course of this Age, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience; among whom also we all had our conduct in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.”

Titus 3:3: “For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, and deceived; slaves to various lusts and pleasures; living in malice and envy; hateful, and hating one another.”

Romans 3:12-18: “Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips, WHOSE MOUTH IS FULL OF CURSING AND BITTERNESS; their feet are swift to shed blood. Destruction and misery are in their ways; and they have not known the Way of peace. There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

When you hear cursing, you know that the person who said it is either not right with God or is a lost soul without Jesus Christ!

Matthew 26:74: “Then he began to curse and to swear, saying, “I do not know the man!”

When you allow filthy words to come out of your mouth or post them on your Facebook page, you are telling the world that you do not know Jesus Christ! Sadly, I see many people who claim to be Christians doing that very thing! And they have reduced the chance that people who know them will ever listen to another Christian about Jesus Christ and the Gospel! Christians, watch your mouth! Amen.

Romans 3:12-18: “There are none that do good; no, not even one. Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips, WHOSE MOUTH IS FULL OF CURSING AND BITTERNESS; their feet are swift to shed blood. Destruction and misery are in their ways; and they have not known the Way of peace. There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Before I received Christ as my Savior in 1982, this text described my own life perfectly! I had no peace in my soul; destruction and misery were in my ways; my inner being was like a tomb full of the bones of a dead man, because I was spiritually dead to the things of God; I did not fear God, and I was dead in trespasses and sins against Him! But I am so glad that God sent a Bible believing Christian into my life to tell me about Jesus! Amen!

John 3:19-20: “And this is the condemnation, that Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness rather than Light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that does evil hates the Light; neither does he come to the Light, lest his deeds should be exposed.”

God has to intervene in the life of a sinner if they are to ever have any hope of going to Heaven to be with Him! The sinner is totally depraved and unable to come to God on his own unless God the Father pulls him toward Jesus through the working of the Holy Spirit:

John 6:44: “No man can come to me, unless the Father who has sent me draws him; and I will raise him up at the Last Day.”

But this is not the same thing as Regeneration! This is an error that is taught by Reformed (Calvinist) teachers; they claim that God must first regenerate the sinner, before they can receive Christ. But Regeneration is the same as “Born again”! Re = again; generation = born. So are sinners born again before they are saved? That is not what the Bible says!

John 3:3-6: “Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a man is born from above, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.” Nicodemus says to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb, and be born again?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a man is born of water and also of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”

Jesus said that if a sinner is born again by the Spirit of God, they have entered into the Kingdom of God! They are saved! So the Calvinist claim that a sinner must be regenerated before they can be saved is false and unbiblical.

When a sinner repents of their sins and believes on the Finished Work of Christ on the cross (his Atonement for all of their sins), they are instantly born again!

When I repented of my sins and believed on the Finished Work of Christ on the cross on August 31, 1982, I was instantly born again! The Holy Spirit entered into my life and God made me into one of his children! I did not do anything to enter into the Kingdom of God except to repent of my own evil works, I believed on Christ, and I received Him as my personal Savior! And I have been saved ever since then, and never doubted it, Amen!

John 6:44: “No man can come to me, unless the Father who has sent me draws him; and I will raise him up at the Last Day.”

Many Calvinists read into this text that if a sinner is drawn to Jesus, then they ARE GUARANTEED TO BE SAVED, because Jesus said, “I will raise him up at the Last Day.”

But remember that Jesus said that He would raise up EVERY HUMAN BEING, not just Believers in Christ!

John 5:28-29: Jesus said, “Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and come forth: they that have done good, into the resurrection of Life; and they that have done evil, into the resurrection of damnation.”

So you see that Calvinists misunderstand John 6:44 completely. They believe that sinners are completely dead to God (which is true; this is what our text says in Romans 3:9-20); however, they make a major mistake in confusing the drawing of the Holy Spirit with Regeneration! That is not what the Bible says:

“unless the Father who has sent me draws him”

It doesn’t say “regenerates him”, does it? No! To draw is to attract or pull a sinner toward Jesus, to awaken the conscience of the sinner to think about spiritual things that they would ordinarily not do! It means to convict the conscience of the sinner, to make them unhappy in their sinful condition, and to make them want something better!

That is exactly what happened to me! I cannot even begin to describe how unhappy I was in the months leading up to the moment that I repented of my sins and accepted the Finished Work of Christ on the cross to save me! Every moment of every day was MISERY! Lol. TRUTH! Amen.

The week or so before I finally accepted Christ as my Savior, I remember listening to rock music with headphones on, very loud, trying to drown out the voice of the Holy Spirit who was calling me to believe in Christ. I was very unhappy, but without the soul winner, I did not know how to be saved; I just knew that “something” was very wrong in my life!

God was working in my soul to help me to seek Him! But I was not saved yet, so I could not have been regenerated, which is the same as “Born again”.

So the theology of Calvinists does not align with the Word of God! Their theology of TULIP is mostly false. This is why I cannot agree with them.

Calvinists have twisted the Bible to make it fit into their theology; but this is not of God, my friends! Avoid “Reformed” churches and “Reformed” pastors like the plague!

I was drawn to Jesus at the age of about ten years old, but I was not saved at that time! I rode my bike as a boy to the Baptist church a few miles from my home; and when I got there, I felt drawn to go to the pastor’s house to talk to him; but I did not know why. I finally left and went back to my house, because I was scared and didn’t know what to say to him. The Lord was drawing me to come to Jesus at that time, but I did not come until about 12 years later!

I have heard stories of sinners who were drawn to come to Jesus who did not come and went to Hell! A preacher told a story about a young woman who listened to his sermon at his church, and he told them about Jesus; but she refused to come to be saved. He talked to her after the service, but she said something like, “I’m too young to be saved”; and she left. But as she crossed the street, a car came and hit her and she was killed instantly! Evidently, the Father was pulling her to come to Jesus, but she was not saved!

So the Scripture teaches that a sinner must be drawn (or pulled) to Jesus by the Holy Spirit or they cannot be saved; but Jesus said that everyone is drawn (or pulled) by the Holy Spirit to Jesus!

John 12:32: Jesus said, “And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.”

But, as we know, even though everyone is drawn to Jesus, most will not come!

John 5:39-40: Jesus said, “Search the Scriptures: for in them you think you have Eternal Life; and they are they which testify of me. BUT YOU WILL NOT COME TO ME, that you might have Life.”

Matthew 7:13-14: “Enter in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there are who go in there. For confined is the gate and narrow is the Way which leads to Eternal Life, and few there are that find it.”

The theology of Salvation is extremely important CORE THEOLOGY, which means that it is the very center of the Christian Faith! If you get this wrong, it will cost you your soul for Eternity!

This is where a soul winner is very important! A believer who has been trained in the Scriptures and understands how to tell others about Jesus can be used by God to bring others to Jesus Christ!

John 4:35-37: “Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, and then harvest comes?’ Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields: for they are already white unto harvest. And he that reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit into Eternal Life, so that both he that sows and he that reaps may rejoice together. And herein is that saying true, ‘One sows, and another reaps.’ I sent you to reap that for which you did not labor; other men labored, and you have entered into their labors.”

Romans 10:14-15: “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, unless they were sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the Gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”

I wish with all my heart that when I was at that church and God wanted me to go in to talk to the pastor, that the pastor had come out to talk to me! I might have been saved if someone had taken the time to talk to me about Jesus as a young boy!

I remember only one person invited me to come to church during my teenage years; but there were many in my hometown who claimed to be Christians; yet no one cared enough about my soul to hand me a Gospel tract or tell me about Christ and his Finished Work on the cross. Probably some said, “My pastor will tell him”; or, “That isn’t my job.” But it is our job! Every believer has been called to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with their neighbors, friends, and family. It is hard, because many will not listen, and it will ruin our relationship with some people that we love; but we must do it, because otherwise, they will go to Hell without Jesus as their Savior; and that is an eternal tragedy!

Summary points:

1) Every one of us is spiritually dead to the one true God when we are conceived in our mother.

We cannot know Him in any way until we have repented of our sins and received Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. Baptism in water does nothing to remove the stain of sin from our souls.

We may be very religious; we might even be active members of a very good church, sing in the choir, even preach from the pulpit!

We might be very involved in the occult, in the worship of idols or even the worship of Satan; but these things are foreign to the one true God. The only way to have a personal relationship with the one true God is to be Born again!

John 3:3: “Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a man is born from above, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.”

2) All sinners are drawn to the Finished Work of Christ by the Holy Spirit, but most will not come on their own. There are cases of sinners actively seeking to know God, and they read the Bible or a Gospel tract and they repent and receive Christ as their Savior on their own; but these are rare cases.

John 12:32: Jesus said, “And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.”

3) Jesus Christ died for ALL humanity, not just the elect:

2 Peter 3:9: “The Lord is not slow concerning the fulfillment of his promise (as some men count slackness); but is longsuffering toward us: not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

John 3:16-17: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have Everlasting Life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

4) A soul winner is essential to help sinners to come to Jesus, because most will not come on their own. They need our help, because they do not know how to be saved! They probably will not come to church on their own: someone must invite them! And if they won’t come to church, then we must hand them a Gospel tract and talk to them about their soul and about where they will go when they die!

Romans 10:14: “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

And when you have presented the Gospel, YOU MUST invite them to be saved! This is the Gospel that Paul and the other Apostles preached!

Romans 10:8-13: “But what does it say? “The Word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart”; that is to say, the Word of faith (WHICH WE PREACH), that if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved: for with the heart, man believes into righteousness; and with the mouth, confession is made into salvation: for the Scripture says, “Whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.” For there is no difference between the Jew and the Gentile: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him: for it is written, “whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Jesus also invited sinners to come to Him to be saved:

Matthew 11:28-30: Jesus said, “Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me: for I am meek and lowly in heart. And you shall find rest to your souls: for my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Some Calvinist preachers NEVER give an invitation to sinners to be saved! This is not the method of the Apostles! We must pray with sinners and help them into the Kingdom of God, or most of them will never be saved! They need our help! Amen.

When the Christian on my Navy ship was telling me about Jesus, he gave me Gospel tracts, and a book on Bible prophecy. I read them, but I was still lost! But when he invited me to receive Christ as my Savior, I agreed; we found a place to pray together and he led me in a prayer to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior; and I was saved!

I didn’t know how to be saved! I needed a soul winner to help me to make that decision to enter the Kingdom of God by faith. I called upon the Name of the Lord to save me, and He did! Amen.

How to be saved

Sinner friend! Is the Lord Jesus drawing you to come to Him? Do not resist his work in your heart! This means that you have hope, because if your heart is not troubled by your sins and you are perfectly happy to be a sinner apart from God, then you will certainly go to Hell; and later, the Lake of Fire!

There is no hope in the false god “Allah”, for he is the devil! He only wants your destruction!

Yield yourself to the one true God Jehovah, and repent of your sins and turn to the Lord Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for your sins, and rose again from the dead on the third day!

Jesus Christ is the only Way to Heaven; any other way (Islam, Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Hinduism, Buddhism, Bahai etc) will lead you into Hell.

“Jesus says to him, ‘I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: NO MAN comes to the Father, but through me’” John 14:6.

You can be saved, right now, if you want to know that you have Eternal Life in Heaven waiting for you when you die! Use this prayer to repent and ask Jesus to forgive your sins and to come into your life, right now!

“Lord Jesus, I know that I have sinned against YOU. I am no good, and you are righteous! You are my only hope for salvation! I believe that you died on the cross for my sins, you were buried, and you rose again from the dead on the third day. I want you to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart right now. Forgive me for all my sins, and save my soul. In the mighty Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen!”

Destrucción y miseria están en sus caminos; y no han conocido el Camino de la paz. No hay temor de Dios delante de sus ojos”. Y sabemos que cualquier cosa que dice la Ley, ello les dice a los que son bajos la Ley, para que cada boca puede estar cerrada, y todo el mundo puede llegar a ser culpable ante Dios; por tanto, por las obras de la Ley ninguna carne será justificada en su vista: porque por la Ley es el conocimiento del pecado.

Lo opuesto Pero ahora, la justicia de Dios aparte de la Ley se revela (siendo testificada por la Ley y los Profetas), aun la justicia de Dios cual es a través de la fe de Jesucristo hasta todos y sobre todos los que creen: porque no hay diferencia: porque todos han pecado, y se han quedado cortos de la gloria de Dios; siendo justificados gratuitamente por su gracia mediante la redención que es en Cristo Jesús; quien Dios ha exhibido públicamente, ser una propiciación a través de la fe en su sangre, declarar su justicia para la remisión de los pecados pasados, a través de la paciencia de Dios; para declarar, digo, en este tiempo su justicia; para que Dios sea justo, y el justificador de él quien cree en Jesús.

El complemento ¿Dónde está entonces la jactancia? Es excluyó. ¿Por cuál Ley? ¿De las obras? No, pero por la Ley de la fe; por lo tanto, concluimos que el hombre es justificado por la fe aparte de las obras de la Ley.

El complemento ¿Es él el Dios de los judíos solamente? ¿No es él también el Dios de los gentiles? Si, de los gentiles también: viendo que hay un solo Dios verdadero, quien justificará la circuncisión por la fe y la incircuncisión a través de la misma fe.

Único Entonces, ¿invalidamos la Ley a través de la fe? ¡Ciertamente no! De hecho, establecemos la Ley.

Comentarios: Ahora, amigos míos, llegamos al corazón de la carta a los Romanos, que es una explicación detallada del Evangelio de Jesucristo. Hay mucha doctrina para analizar en este párrafo, por lo que me centraré sólo en el primer subpárrafo de este estudio.

Note que el tema de este párrafo es:

¶Único Ambos los judíos como los gentiles pueden ser justificados por el mismo Dios mediante su fe en la Obra terminada de Jesucristo (3:9 - 31)

La redacción de este tema es muy importante, porque creo que capta la intención inspirada del apóstol Pablo, lo cual era para mostrar que los judíos y los gentiles están al mismo nivel ante Dios en el asunto del PECADO.

Todo ser humano (judío o gentil) desciende del mismo Adán y Eva del Génesis. Judíos y gentiles tienen en común la misma sangre roja, la misma humanidad y el mismo PECADO. La única diferencia es que los descendientes de Abraham, Isaac y Jacob tienen promesas y pactos específicos de Dios que los gentiles no tienen, porque Dios los ha elegido para sus propósitos especiales en la historia y el futuro de la humanidad.

Todo ser humano es igualmente CULPABLE ANTE DIOS:

Romanos 3:9-10: “¿Qué, pues? ¿Somos nosotros [los judíos] mejores que [los gentiles]? No, no en absoluto: porque ya hemos demostrado que tanto judíos como a gentiles, que todos ellos están bajos la maldición del pecado: como está escrito, “Nadie es justo; no, ni siquiera uno”.

Note que Pablo enseñó que todo ser humano está completamente muerto para Dios a causa del pecado. Jesucristo fue la única excepción, porque Él es tanto Dios y Hombre.

Romans 3:11-12: “No hay quien entienda; no hay quien busque después de Dios. Todos se han desviado del Camino; juntos se han vuelto no rentables. No hay quien haga el bien; no, ni siquiera uno”.

Esto se refiere a la “vieja naturaleza pecaminosa” con la que fuimos concebidos.

Salmo 51:5: “He aquí, en maldad fui formada; y en pecado me concibió mi madre.”

Jeremías 17:9: “El corazón es engañoso sobre todas las cosas, y desesperadamente perverso. ¿Quién puede saberlo?”

2 Crónicas 16:36: “...porque no hay hombre que no peque...”

Esta naturaleza pecaminosa nos fue transmitida a través de nuestros padres, no de nuestras madres; por lo tanto, cuando fuimos concebidos en el vientre de nuestra madre, ya estábamos corrompidos en nuestra alma con la maldición del pecado. ¡Por eso los niños saben inmediatamente decir mentiras y robar! Mamá: “¿Quién robó una galleta?” Niños: “¡Yo no!”

Romanos 5:12: “Por lo tanto, como por uno hombre, es decir, Adán, el pecado entró en el mundo y la muerte a través de su pecado; y así la muerte pasó sobre a todos los hombres, porque todos han pecado”.

Incluso el mejor ser humano está completamente corrompido por la maldición del pecado en sus almas:

Efesios 2:1-3: “Y ustedes, siendo muerto en vuestro ofensas y pecados, en la que, en el pasado, ustedes caminabais según el curso de esta Era, según el príncipe de la potestad del aire, el espíritu que ahora obra en los hijos de la desobediencia; entre los cuales también todos tuvimos nuestra conducta en tiempos pasados en los deseos de nuestra carne; satisfaciendo los deseos de la carne y de la mente; y nosotros fuimos por naturaleza hijos de ira, como otros, incluso como otros”.

Tito 3:3: “Porque nosotros mismos también fuimos a veces insensatos, desobedientes y engañados; esclavos de diversas lujurias y placeres; viviendo en malicia y envidia; odiosos y odiándonos unos a otros”.

Romanos 3:12-18: “La garganta de ellos es una tumba abierta; con la lengua, ellos han usado engaño; el veneno de las áspides está debajo de sus labios, cuya boca está llena de maldiciones y amarguras; los pies de ellos son veloces para derramar sangre. Destrucción y miseria están en sus caminos; y no han conocido el Camino de la paz. No hay temor de Dios delante de sus ojos”.

Cuando escuchas maldiciones, sabes que la persona que las dijo o no está bien con Dios o es un alma perdida sin Jesucristo.

Mateo 26:74: “Entonces comenzó a maldecir y a jurar, diciendo: ¡No conozco al hombre!

Cuando permites que salgan de tu boca palabras obscenas o las publicas en tu página de Facebook, ¡le estás diciendo al mundo que no conoces a Jesucristo! ¡Tristemente, veo a muchas personas que dicen ser cristianas haciendo exactamente eso! ¡Y han reducido la posibilidad de que las personas que los conocen escuchen a otro cristiano acerca de Jesucristo y el Evangelio! ¡Cristianos, cuiden su boca! Amén.

Romanos 3:12-18: “No hay quien haga el bien; no, ni siquiera uno. La garganta de ellos es una tumba abierta; con la lengua, ellos han usado engaño; el veneno de las áspides está debajo de sus labios, cuya boca está llena de maldiciones y amarguras; los pies de ellos son veloces para derramar sangre. Destrucción y miseria están en sus caminos; y no han conocido el Camino de la paz. No hay temor de Dios delante de sus ojos”.

Antes de recibir a Cristo como mi Salvador en 1982, ¡este texto describía mi propia vida perfectamente! No tenía paz en mi alma; destrucción y miseria estaban en mis caminos; mi ser interior era como un sepulcro lleno de huesos de muerto, porque espiritualmente estaba muerto a las cosas de Dios; ¡No temí a Dios y estaba muerto en delitos y pecados contra Él! ¡Pero estoy tan contenta de que Dios haya enviado a mi vida a un cristiano creyente en la Biblia para hablarme de Jesús! ¡Amén!

Juan 3:19-20: “Y esta es la condena, que la Luz ha venido al mundo, pero los hombres amaban más la oscuridad que la Luz, porque sus obras eran malas: porque todo el que hace el mal odia la Luz; tampoco él viene a la Luz, para que sus obras no queden expuestas”.

¡Dios tiene que intervenir en la vida de un pecador si alguna vez han de tener alguna esperanza de ir al Cielo para estar con Él! El pecador es totalmente depravado y no puede venir a Dios por sí solo a menos que Dios Padre lo atraiga hacia Jesús a través de la obra del Espíritu Santo:

Juan 6:44: “Nadie puede venir a mí, a menos que el Padre que me ha enviado le atrae; y yo lo resucitaré en el Día Postrero”.

¡Pero esto no es lo mismo que Regeneración! Éste es un error que enseñan por los maestros reformados (calvinistas); afirman que Dios primero debe regenerar al pecador, antes de que pueda recibir a Cristo. ¡Pero Regeneración es lo mismo que “Nacer de nuevo”! Re = otra vez; generación = nacido. Entonces, ¿los pecadores nacen de nuevo antes de ser salvados? ¡Eso no es lo que dice la Biblia!

Juan 3:3-6: “Jesús respondió y le dijo, “En verdad, en verdad, te digo: a menos que un hombre nazca de arriba, no puede ver el Reino de Dios”. Nicodemo le dijo, “¿Cómo puede un hombre nacer siendo viejo? ¿Puede acaso entrar por segunda vez dentro el vientre de su madre, y nacer de nuevo?”. Respondió Jesús, “Verdaderamente, verdaderamente, te digo, que el que no naciere de agua y también del Espíritu, no puede entrar en el Reino de Dios; lo que es nacido de la carne, es carne, y lo que es nacido del Espíritu, es espíritu”.

Jesús dijo que si un pecador nace de nuevo por el Espíritu de Dios, ¡ha entrado en el Reino de Dios! ¡Están salvados! Entonces, la afirmación calvinista de que un pecador debe ser regenerado antes de poder ser salvado es falso y no bíblico.

Cuando un pecador se arrepiente de sus pecados y cree en la Obra terminada de Cristo en la cruz (su expiación por todos sus pecados), ¡nace de nuevo instantáneamente!

Cuando me arrepentí de mis pecados y creí en la Obra terminada de Cristo en la cruz el 31 de agosto de 1982, ¡nací de nuevo instantáneamente! ¡El Espíritu Santo entró en mi vida y Dios me hizo uno de sus hijos! ¡No hice nada para entrar al Reino de Dios excepto arrepentirme de mis propias malas obras, yo creí en Cristo y le recibí como mi Salvador personal! Y he sido salvado desde entonces; y nunca lo dudé. ¡Amén!

Juan 6:44: “Nadie puede venir a mí, a menos que el Padre que me ha enviado le atrae; y yo lo resucitaré en el Día Postrero”.

Muchos calvinistas leen en este texto que si un pecador es atraído hacia Jesús, Entonces ellos están garantizados para ser salvados, porque Jesús dijo, “yo lo resucitaré en el Día Postrero.”

¡Pero recuerda que Jesús dijo que Él levantaría a TODO SER HUMANO, no sólo a los Creyentes en Cristo!

Juan 5:28-29: Jesús dijo, “No os maravilléis de esto: porque la hora viene cuando todos los que están en los sepulcros oirán su voz, y ellos saldrán: los que hicieron el bien, a la resurrección de Vida; y los que hicieron lo malo, a la resurrección de condenación”.

Entonces puedes ver que los calvinistas malinterpretan completamente Juan 6:44. Creen que los pecadores están completamente muertos para Dios (lo cual es cierto; esto es lo que dice nuestro texto en Romanos 3:9-20); sin embargo, cometen un gran error al confundir la atracción del Espíritu Santo con la Regeneración. Eso no es lo que dice la Biblia:

"a menos que el Padre que me ha enviado le atrae"

No dice “le regenera”, ¿lo hace? ¡No! "Atraer" significa atraer o atraer a un pecador hacia Jesús, despertar la conciencia del pecador para que piense en cosas espirituales que normalmente no haría. ¡Significa condenar la conciencia del pecador, hacerlo infeliz en su condición pecaminosa y hacerlo desear algo mejor!

¡Eso es exactamente lo que me pasó! ¡Ni siquiera puedo comenzar a describir lo infeliz que fui en los meses previos al momento en que me arrepentí de mis pecados y acepté la Obra terminada de Cristo en la cruz para salvarme! ¡Cada momento de cada día era MISERIA! Jajaja. ¡VERDAD! Amén.

Aproximadamente una semana antes de que finalmente aceptara a Cristo como mi Salvador, recuerdo haber escuchado música rock con los auriculares puestos, muy alta, tratando de ahogar la voz del Espíritu Santo que me llamaba a creer en Cristo. Yo estaba muy infeliz, pero sin el ganador de almas, no supe cómo ser salvado; ¡Simplemente sabía que “algo” estaba muy mal en mi vida!

¡Dios estaba obrando en mi alma para ayudarme a buscarle! Pero todavía yo no era salvado, por lo que no podría haber sido regenerado, que es lo mismo que “nacer de nuevo”.

¡Entonces la teología de los calvinistas no se alinea con la Palabra de Dios! Su teología sobre TULIP es mayoritariamente falsa. Por eso no puedo estar de acuerdo con ellos.

Los calvinistas han torcido la Biblia para hacerlo encajar en su teología; ¡Pero esto no es de Dios, amigos míos! ¡Evite las iglesias “reformadas” y los pastores “reformados” como la plaga!

Me sentí atraído por Jesús cuando tenía unos diez años, ¡pero no fui salvo en ese momento! Cuando era niño, iba en bicicleta a la iglesia bautista a unas pocas millas de mi casa; y cuando llegué me sentí atraído a ir a la casa del pastor a hablar con él; pero no sabía por qué. Finalmente salí y regresé a mi casa, porque tenía miedo y no sabía qué decirle. El Señor me estaba atrayendo a venir a Jesús en ese momento, ¡pero no vine hasta unos 12 años después!

¡He oído historias de pecadores quien fueron atraídos a venir a Jesús y que no vinieron y se fueron al infierno! Un predicador contó la historia de una joven que escuchó su sermón en su iglesia y les habló de Jesús; pero ella se negó a venir para ser salvado. Él habló con ella después del servicio, pero ella dijo algo como: “Soy demasiado joven para ser salvado”; y ella se fue. Pero cuando cruzaba la calle, un auto vino y la atropelló y ¡murió instantáneamente! Evidentemente, el Padre la atraía para que viniera a Jesús, ¡pero ella no fue salvado!

Entonces las Escrituras enseñan que un pecador debe ser atraído a Jesús por el Espíritu Santo o no podrá ser salvado; ¡pero Jesús dijo que todos son atraídos por el Espíritu Santo a Jesús!

Juan 12:32: Jesús dijo, “Y yo, si fuere levantado de la tierra, a todos atraeré hacia mí”.

Pero, como sabemos, aunque todos se sienten atraídos por Jesús, ¡la mayoría no vendrá!

Juan 5:39-40: Jesús dijo, “Escudriñad las Escrituras, porque en ellas pensáis tener Vida Eterna; y ellos son los que dan testimonio de mí. PERO NO VENDRÉIS A MÍ, para que tengáis Vida”.

Mateo 7:13-14: “Entrad por la puerta estrecha: porque ancha es la puerta y espacioso el camino que lleva a la perdición, y muchos son los que entran por allí. Porque confinada es la puerta y angosto el Camino que conduce a la Vida Eterna, y pocos son los que lo encuentran”.

La teología de la Salvación es una TEOLOGÍA NÚCLEO extremadamente importante, lo que significa que es el centro mismo de la fe cristiana. Si entiendes esto mal, ¡te costará tu alma por la eternidad!

¡Aquí es donde un ganador del alma es muy importante! ¡Un creyente que ha sido entrenado en las Escrituras y entiende cómo hablarles a otros acerca de Jesús puede ser usado por Dios para llevar a otros a Jesucristo!

Juan 4:35-37: “¿No decís, “Aún quedan cuatro meses; y luego la cosecha viene?’. He aquí, os digo: alzad vuestros ojos y mirad los campos: porque ellos ya son blancos para la cosecha. Y el que siega recibe salario, y recoge fruto para Vida Eterna: para que el que siembre y el que coseche pueden regocijarse juntos. Y en esto, ese dicho es cierto: “Uno siembra y otro cosecho’. Os envié a cosechar aquello por lo que no habéis trabajado; otros hombres trabajaron, y ustedes habéis entrado en sus labores”.

Romanos 10:14-15: “¿Cómo, pues, invocarán a aquel en quien no han creído? ¿Y cómo creerán en él, de quien no han oído? ¿Y cómo ellos oirán sin predicador? ¿Y cómo predicarán a menos que fueran enviados? Como está escrito, “¡Qué hermosos son los pies de los que anuncian el Evangelio de la paz, y trae buenas nuevas de las cosas buenas!”.

¡Ojalá de todo corazón que cuando estaba cerca de esa iglesia y Dios quería que entrara a hablar con el pastor, que el pastor había salido y me hablaba! ¡Podría haberme salvado si alguien se hubiera tomado el tiempo de hablarme acerca de Jesús cuando era niño!

Recuerdo que sólo una persona me invitó a venir a la iglesia durante mi adolescencia; pero había muchos en mi ciudad natal que decían ser cristianos; sin embargo, a nadie le importó lo suficiente mi alma como para entregarme un tratado del Evangelio o hablarme de Cristo y su Obra terminada en la cruz. Probablemente algunos dijeron: “Mi pastor se lo dirá”; o “Ese no es mi trabajo”.

¡Pero es nuestro trabajo! Cada creyente ha sido llamado a compartir el Evangelio de Jesucristo con sus vecinos, amigos y familiares. Es difícil, porque muchos no nos escucharán y arruinará nuestra relación con algunas personas que amamos; pero debemos hacerlo, porque de lo contrario, irán al Infierno sin Jesús como su Salvador; ¡Y esa es una tragedia eterna!

Puntos de resumen:

1) Cada uno de nosotros estamos espiritualmente muertos para el único Dios verdadero cuando somos concebidos en nuestra madre.

No podemos conocerlo de ninguna manera hasta que nos hayamos arrepentido de nuestros pecados y hayamos recibido a Jesucristo como nuestro Salvador personal. El bautismo en agua no hace nada para quitar la mancha del pecado de nuestras almas.

Puede que seamos muy religiosos; ¡Incluso podríamos ser miembros activos de una muy buena iglesia, cantar en el coro e incluso predicar desde el púlpito!

Podríamos estar muy involucrados en lo oculto, en la adoración de ídolos o incluso en la adoración de Satanás; pero estas cosas son ajenas al único Dios verdadero. ¡La única manera de tener una relación personal con el único Dios verdadero es nacer de nuevo!

Juan 3:3: “Jesús respondió y le dijo, “En verdad, en verdad, te digo: a menos que un hombre nazca de arriba, no puede ver el Reino de Dios”.

2) Todos los pecadores son atraídos a la Obra terminada de Cristo por el Espíritu Santo, pero la mayoría no vendrá por sí solo. Hay casos de pecadores que buscan activamente conocer a Dios, leen la Biblia o un tratado del Evangelio y se arrepienten y reciben a Cristo como su Salvador por su cuenta; pero estos son casos raros.

Juan 12:32: Jesús dijo, “Y yo, si fuere levantado de la tierra, a todos atraeré hacia mí”.

3) Jesucristo murió por TODA la humanidad, no solo por los elegidos:

2 Pedro 3:9: “El Señor no es lento en relación con el cumplimiento de su promesa (como algunos hombres consideran la lentitud); pero es paciente para con nosotros: no dispuesto a que cualquiera debería perecer, sino que todo debería venir al arrepentimiento”.

Juan 3:16-17: “Porque Dios amó tanto al mundo, que él dio a su Hijo unigénito, que cualquiera que cree en él no deberían perecer, sino tener Vida Eterna. Porque Dios no envió a su Hijo al mundo para condenar al mundo; pero que el mundo a través de él pueda salvarse”.

4) Un ganador de almas es esencial para ayudar a los pecadores a venir a Jesús, porque la mayoría no vendrá por sí solo. ¡Necesitan nuestra ayuda porque no saben ser salvados! Probablemente no vendrán a la iglesia en su propia: ¡alguien debe invitarlos! Y si no vienen a la iglesia, entonces debemos entregarles un folleto evangélico y debemos hablar con ellos sobre su alma y sobre adónde irán cuando mueran.

Romanos 10:14: “¿Cómo, pues, invocarán a aquel en quien no han creído? ¿Y cómo creerán en él, de quien no han oído? ¿Y cómo ellos oirán sin predicador?”.

¡Y cuando hayas presentado el Evangelio, DEBES invitarlos a ser salvados! ¡Éste es el Evangelio que predicaron Pablo y los demás Apóstoles!

Romanos 10:8-13: “Pero ¿qué dice? “La Palabra está cerca de ti, incluso en tu boca y en tu corazón”, es decir, la Palabra de fe (que predicamos), que si confesarás con tu boca al Señor Jesús, y creerás en tu corazón que Dios le levantó de los muertos, tú serás salvado: porque con el corazón, el hombre cree para justicia, y con la boca, la confesión se hace para la salvación: porque la Escritura dice, “cualquiera que en él creyere, no será avergonzado”. Porque no hay diferencia entre el judio y el gentil: porque el mismo Señor sobre todo es rico a todos los que le invocan: porque está escrito, “Cualquiera que llamará sobre el Nombre del Señor será salvado”.

Jesús también invitó a los pecadores a venir a Él para ser salvados:

Mateo 11:28-30: Jesús dijo, “Venid a mí, todos ustedes que trabajan y están muy agobiados, y yo os daré descansar. Llevad mi yugo sobre ustedes, y aprended de mí, porque soy manso y humilde de corazón; y hallaréis descanso para vuestras almas: porque mi yugo es fácil, y ligera es mi carga”.

¡Algunos predicadores calvinistas NUNCA invitan a los pecadores a ser salvados! ¡Este no es el método de los Apóstoles! ¡Debemos orar con los pecadores y ayudarlos a entrar al Reino de Dios, o la mayoría de ellos nunca serán salvados! ¡Necesitan nuestra ayuda! Amén.

Cuando el cristiano en mi barco de la Armada me hablaba de Jesús, me dio folletos evangélicos y un libro sobre profecía bíblica. ¡Los leí, pero todavía estaba perdido! Pero cuando me invitó a recibir a Cristo como mi Salvador, acepté; encontramos un lugar para orar juntos y él me guió en oración para recibir al Señor Jesucristo como mi Salvador; ¡y fui salvado!

¡Yo no sabía cómo ser salvado! Necesitaba un ganador de almas que me ayudara a tomar esa decisión de entrar al Reino de Dios por fe. Invoqué el Nombre del Señor para que me salvara, ¡y Él lo hizo! Amén.

Como ser salvado

¡Amigo pecador! ¿El Señor Jesús te está atrayendo a venir a Él? ¡No resistas su obra en tu corazón! Esto significa que tienes esperanza, porque si tu corazón no eres turbado por tus pecados y estás perfectamente feliz de ser pecador apartado de Dios, entonces ciertamente irás al Infierno; y más tarde, ¡el Lago de Fuego!

¡No hay esperanza en el dios falso “Alá”, porque él es el diablo! ¡Él sólo quiere tu destrucción!

¡Entrégate al único Dios verdadero Jehová, y arrepiéntete de tus pecados y vuélvete al Señor Jesucristo, quien murió en la cruz por tus pecados y resucitó de nuevo de entre los muertos al tercer día!

Jesucristo es el único Camino al Cielo; Cualquier otro camino (islam, mormonismo, testigos de Jehová, hinduismo, budismo, bahá’í, etc) te llevará al Infierno.

Juan 14:6 “Jesús le dice: Yo soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida: nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí”.

¡Puedes ser salvado ahora mismo si quieres saber que tienes Vida Eterna en el Cielo, esperándote cuando mueras! Utilice esta oración para arrepentirse y pedirle a Jesús que perdone sus pecados y que entre en su vida, ¡ahora mismo!

“Señor Jesús, sé que he pecado contra TI. ¡No soy bueno y tú eres justo! Creo que moriste en la cruz por mis pecados, fuiste enterrado y resucitaste de entre los muertos al tercer día. Quiero que vengas a mi vida y seas mi Señor y Salvador. Por favor entra en mi corazón ahora mismo. Perdóname por todos mis pecados y salva mi alma. En el poderoso Nombre de Jesús, oro, ¡Amén!”
