The Golden Ratio design and outline of Hebrews, Chapter 1.5. This study will conclude our study of this Letter, and transition to the Letter to the Romans.

Hebrews, Chapter 1.5: Become completed Jews in Jesus Christ your Messiah (12:1 -13:25)

§Complement Introduction: Obey the will of Jehovah your God and embrace Jesus Christ as your Messiah (12:1 - 13)

¶Opposite Keep your eyes on Christ and follow his example of obedience to become a completed Jew (12:1 - 4)

§Unique Conclusion: Serve God in your local Assembly (13:18 - 25)

First of all, I believe that the Conclusion shows that believers in Christ should be serving the Lord Jesus Christ in a local Assembly, unless God has called them to a position of special leadership, such as a missionary work that requires independent action; this is a rare thing, but it does occasionally happen. One example I can think of was Missionary David Livingstone, who was probably the first Christian missionary in Africa, and one of the first Europeans to traverse the continent.

There are other examples during the Old Covenant, such as some of the prophets like Elijah or even John the Baptist. We must never forget that God calls men to serve Him who know his Word (which requires formal training); and men who are obedient to his Word and his Holy Spirit. New believers do not fit in to those categories, so they need Sunday school and weekly Bible attendance for at least a few years before they can be trusted to lead other believers in the scriptural ways of the Lord.

1 Timothy 3:6: “But he [a pastor] must not be a new believer, lest being lifted up with pride, he falls into the condemnation of the devil.”

Otherwise, believers in Christ need to be part of a local assembly of believers (a church). New believers cannot rightly understand the Bible by independent study! I did it myself when I was new in the faith, but many of my doctrines in those days were in error, because I was a spiritual baby.

Hebrews 5:11-14: “Of whom we have many things to say; but hard to explain, seeing you are hard of hearing. For when for the time you should be teachers, you need someone to teach you again which are the first principles of the Oracles of God. And you have become those that need milk, and not solid food. For every one that uses milk is unskilled in the Word of righteousness, because he is a spiritual baby; but solid food belongs to them that are spiritually mature, even those who by reason of habitual use have trained their senses to discern both good and evil.”

I spent almost six years in Bible college and seminary (earning Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees), and I can testify that the Bible cannot be properly understood by independent study alone! You need the guidance of mature believers who have been tested and found faithful to the Lord.

You can find such men with the help of the Holy Spirit: if you are a born again Christian, seek the Lord with all of your heart; and ask Him to guide you to the right Bible college and the right church to learn the Word of God; and also ask Him to guide you away from those who teach doctrinal error. God will answer that prayer!

Jeremiah 33:2-3: “Thus says Jehovah its Maker, Jehovah that formed it, to establish it (Jehovah is his Name): ‘Call unto me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

Comments: Notice how the Conclusion is divided into two paragraphs with five sub-paragraphs in each one; and both groups of subparagraphs have the “OO-CCU” or “Two opposites, two complements, and one unique” design. This is the standard design for nearly every Conclusion section in Division One of the Holy Bible (Golden Ratio design).

This would be impossible except that it is true, because the Bible is the Word of God, given by Inspiration of the Holy Spirit:

2 Peter 1:20-21: “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture comes of one’s own interpretation: for the prophecy came at no time by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”

2 Timothy 3:16: “All Scripture is God-breathed; and is beneficial for doctrine, for rebuke, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness; that the man of God may be complete, and thoroughly equipped for all good work.”

Opposite And I exhort you, brethren, endure the Word of exhortation: for I have written a letter to you in few words.

The Apostle Paul said that the Letter to the Hebrews was only a “few words”! The older generations were very different than our generations that have grown up with the TV and Internet and Youtube. Most people these days have trouble reading more than a few words of the Bible; even a simple text such as John 3:16 can be a heavy burden for many.

In the old days without TV and the internet, reading a long book was not an unusual thing. There was literally nothing else to do in many cases! We have gained a lot with the internet; but we have also lost a lot of things that we will never recover. For most people, being able to read a long letter or a book is one of them, I suspect.

Opposite Know that our brother Timothy has been set free; with whom, if he comes shortly, I will see you.

We don’t know if this reference to “Timothy” is the same “Timothy” that was a pastor student of the Apostle Paul; but I believe it is likely. If the Apostle Paul was the human author of Hebrews (as I believe), then this reference confirms it.

Complement Greet all them that rule over you, and all the saints.

Complement They of Italy greet you.

Cyril of Jerusalem (313 - 386 A.D.) said that

Paul, “fully preached the Gospel, and instructed even imperial Rome, and carried the earnestness of his preaching as far as Spain, undergoing conflicts innumerable, and performing Signs and wonders.” Cyril on Paul and gifts of the Holy Ghost (Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers, Series II Volume VII, Lecture 17, para. 26)

Paul spent two years in Rome awaiting trial; and was then released, but arrested again in Asia Minor (present-day Turkey) and brought back to Rome where he was executed between 64 and 68 A.D.

It seems likely to me that Paul wrote this Letter to the Hebrews during his two years of house arrest in Rome, which agrees with

Hebrews 13:24b: “They of Italy greet you.”

The Apostle Paul was an expert in Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic; and was trained by one of the leading Jewish scholars of his time, Gamaliel. So he was the ideal man to provide this incredible instruction manual in Christian theology. He was also instructed in person by the Risen Christ for three years (Galatians 1:11-17)!

Philippians 3:4-6: “Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinks that he has reasons for which he might trust in the flesh, I have more: circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, and a Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the Law, a Pharisee; concerning zeal; persecuting the Assembly; touching the righteousness which is in the Law of Moses, blameless.”

In addition, Paul also authored 13 other letters of Holy Scripture to Christian churches on almost every theological topic: Romans, Philippians, Philemon, Titus, 1 & 2 Corinthians, 1 & 2 Thessalonians, Colossians, Galatians, 1 & 2 Timothy, and Ephesians.

The other Apostles, including Peter, only wrote one or two letters of Scripture at most; except for the Apostle John, who wrote five: Revelation, the Gospel of John, and the letters of 1, 2, and 3 John. But no one would argue that John could have authored Hebrews. The style and content are much different than the five documents that we know were authored by John.

So Paul was the premier theologian of the Apostolic churches! No one else was better qualified to explain the Gospel of Christ to the Jews. Therefore, I am convinced that Paul was the human author of Hebrews.

This concludes our study of the Letter to the Hebrews!

Now, let’s review the entire letter to see where we have been; and where we are going in our next series of studies.

Book 5.1 (Hebrews & Romans): The Way into a New Covenant Relationship with Jehovah God

Complement Part 1 (Hebrews): For believing Jews under the Old Covenant during the first century (1:1 - 13:25)

Opposite Chapter 1.1: God the Son came to Earth to become a man to complete the work of Salvation on the cross (1:1 - 4:13)

Opposite Chapter 1.2: God the Son returned into Heaven to be our Great High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek (4:14 - 7:28)

Complement Chapter 1.3: Look back to the Finished Work of Christ on the cross for your spiritual completion (8:1 - 10:31)

Complement Chapter 1.4: The Old Covenant saints looked forward with saving faith to their Messiah under the New Covenant (10:32 -11:40)

Unique Chapter 1.5: Obey the will of Jehovah God to become a completed Jew in Jesus Christ your Messiah (12:1 -13:25)

The Letter to the Hebrews was written to Jews of the first century who had been saved under the Old Covenant BEFORE the Atoning work of Christ on the cross in 30 A.D.

These Jews were children of God! However, because the Plan of Salvation had finally been completed, their previous path to Jehovah God through the sacrifice of animals in the Temple in Jerusalem was no longer valid; therefore, in order for them to continue in fellowship with Jehovah their God, they were REQUIRED to embrace the Lord Jesus Christ as their Messiah, their Savior, and their High Priest; otherwise, their fellowship with Jehovah was broken, and they would begin a descent into spiritual darkness that would end with their death in 70 A.D. at the hands of the Roman army of Titus, who razed Jerusalem and the Temple to the ground and killed over one million Jews in the siege of the city.

This letter has a specific interpretation that applies only to a specific group of people (Jews who had been saved under the Old Covenant before Christ atoned for our sins on the cross in 30 A.D.). The interpretation does not directly apply to any other group; although, there are many applications that can be made to Christians today; and as you have seen, we have learned many precious truths from this Letter that will help us to grow spiritually as believers today.

For example, Hebrews has much teaching about the high priesthood of Jesus Christ, according to the order of Melchizedek. This is a central theme of Hebrews, because the Jews needed to understand why the priesthood of Aaron, a central pillar of the Old Covenant, had been replaced; and everything that the priest of Aaron was involved with, from animal sacrifices to the Sabbath day to tithing crops to celebrating the great feasts of Israel to judging the people of the Jews, was now invalid under the New Covenant.

For the Gentiles, none of these things are relevant, because all of the things that the priest of Aaron did were only meaningful to the Jews.

The Apostles held a Council in Acts 15:23-29 to discuss whether Gentiles should be obligated to keep the Law of Moses along with all of the judgments, ordinances, and statutes that were designed for the nation of Israel; and here is their conclusion: No!

Acts 15:23-29: “And they wrote a letter by them after this manner: “The Apostles and elders and brethren sends greeting to the brethren that are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia. Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain who went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, ‘You must be circumcised, and keep the Law’ (to whom we gave no such command): it seemed good to us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, men that have hazarded their lives for the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore we have sent Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth: for it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: to abstain from food offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication; from which if you keep yourselves, you shall do well. Farewell.”

Since animal sacrifices were now replaced by the Finished Work of Christ on the cross (once for all time, never to be repeated), and the priesthood of Aaron was replaced by the Priesthood of Christ according to Melchizedek, the New Covenant was dramatically different than the Old Covenant.

In Romans, Paul did not mention

1) The New Covenant Priesthood of Christ according to Melchizedek

2) The Old Covenant priesthood of Aaron

3) The sacrifice of animals

Those topics were central to the Letter to the Hebrews.

In Romans, Paul only summarized the three main things mentioned in Hebrews as “the Law”; and then he explained how the Law of Moses related to faith in Christ under the New Covenant.

The Law of Moses (specifically the Ten Commandments) serves one purpose only: it tells us that we are sinners! It cannot justify us or make us right with God. If we try to keep the Law as a means to go to Heaven, then God will have no choice but to send us to Hell when we die, because the Law can only condemn us!

Jesus came to complete the Work of Salvation on the cross, to atone for all of our sins (past, present, and future), so that we might be justified from all sin and made right and holy in the sight of God; and all we have to do is repent (acknowledge our sinfulness before God and believe in the Finished Work of Christ on the cross! Amen and amen!

The Letter to the Romans was written to both Jews and Gentiles to explain the Gospel of Jesus Christ “from [saving] faith to [mature] faith”.

Romans 1:17: “For in it [the Gospel of Christ], the righteousness of God is revealed from saving faith to mature faith: as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

In other words, how can a Jew or a Gentile (all others) be saved from their sins and go to Heaven when they die? And what is the complete picture of this theology from the basic to the advanced teachings? This is what the letter to the Romans is all about.

Complement Part 2 (Romans): For all Jews and Gentiles from the first century forward (1:1 - 16:27)

Opposite Chapter 2.1: Both Jews and Gentiles have rejected the one true God and will be judged by the Old Covenant Law of Moses (1:1 - 2:16)

Opposite Chapter 2.2: Both Jews and Gentiles can only be justified through faith alone in the New Covenant Finished Work of Christ (2:17 - 5:21)

Complement Chapter 2.3: The indwelling Holy Spirit will deliver Believers from the power of sin if they walk in obedience to Him (6:1 - 8:39)

Complement Chapter 2.4: The Election of God will save a remnant of Israel in spite of their unbelief in the New Covenant Gospel of Christ (9:1 - 11:36)

Unique Chapter 2.5: The New Covenant Gospel of Christ calls us to serve God in every part of our lives (12:1 - 16:27)

Muhammad and Islam is NOT the Way to God! Mary is not the Way to Jesus or to Heaven! No church and no baptism and no good works can save you!

Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.” John 14:6.

The Quran (17:111) says that allah has no son. The Bible agrees, because the one true God of the Bible has a Son, and his Name is the Lord Jesus Christ! Therefore, “allah” is not God!

Even the devils know that Jehovah Elohim has a Son, and they recognized Him in Jesus Christ:

Mark 3:11: “And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him; and they cried, saying, “You are the Son of God!”

I John 2:22-23: “Who is the liar, if not he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is Antichrist: the one who denies the equality of the Father and the Son. Whosoever denies the Son, does not have the Father; but he that confesses the Son has the Father also.”

The Protestant Reformers were 100% right about the Pope: They all said he was an antichrist! The Catholic religion is much worse today than in the days of the reformers! There is no salvation in any church and there is no hope in the Pope!

If you are a Muslim, a Roman Catholic, a Hindu, a Bahai, an atheist/agnostic, or a person who is a church member, but you are trusting in your baptism or your good works to be saved, then you are a sinner before God who will soon stand before Him in Judgment; after which He will cast you into the Lake of Fire forever and ever and ever!

Do you realize that in Heaven: Muslims, Roman Catholics, Hindus, Bahais, Shintos, atheists/agnostics, and false Christians will never be allowed into that holy place? That’s right, friend! Anyone who is not a born again Christian will never see the glories and wonders of Heaven, because you will be in Hell until the Great White Throne judgment; and after that, the Lake of Fire, forever and ever; and you will never get out!

May God open your eyes to the extreme danger that you are in right now! If your heart would stop beating for any reason, you would instantly drop down into a terrible place that is full of burning sulphur, fire, and continuous wailing, crying, gnashing of teeth, and extreme suffering by all who are in that place! You are literally only a heartbeat away from Hell!

The only escape for you from that terrible place called Hell is the Finished Work of Jesus Christ on the cross 2,000 years ago. Jesus suffered on the cross for the sins of all mankind: past, present, and future; and that included you and me, thank God! His suffering is enough for you to make peace with God, who is angry with you because of your sins.

All you must do is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God who came to Earth to be born of a virgin, lived a sinless, perfect life for 33 years, was crucified and suffered unimaginable pain on our behalf so that we don’t have to suffer in Hell, if we have trusted Him to save us; and when He died, they placed Him in a tomb for 3 days. Afterward, Jesus arose from the dead, victorious over sin, death, Hell and the grave! Amen.

You must also understand and believe that you are a sinner; and that your sins helped to put Jesus Christ on the cross! That’s right, friend! Jesus died FOR YOU, so that you might have Everlasting Life!

John 3:16: Jesus said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have Everlasting Life.”

Do you believe these things? Then and only then can you ask for forgiveness, based on your faith in what Jesus did for you on the cross 2,000 years ago. It is his FINISHED WORK (we cannot add to it nor subtract anything from it). It is a gift from God that was given to us; but his Finished Work for us won’t do us any good UNLESS WE ACCEPT HIM AS OUR PERSONAL SAVIOR!

If you believe in Jesus, but do not pray to receive his gift of salvation, then you will still go to Hell!

Romans 10:13: “for it is written, “whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Here is how you can be saved, IF YOU BELIEVE everything that I just explained. Pray this prayer with all of your heart to receive Christ as your Savior:

“Lord Jesus, I know that I have sinned against YOU. I am no good, and you are righteous! You are my only hope for salvation! I believe that you died on the cross for my sins, you were buried, and you rose again from the dead on the third day. I want you to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart right now. Forgive me for all my sins, and save my soul. In the mighty Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen!”

En primer lugar, creo que la Conclusión muestra que los creyentes en Cristo deben estar sirviendo al Señor Jesucristo en una Asamblea local, a menos que Dios los haya llamado a una posición de liderazgo especial, como una obra misionera que requiere una acción independiente; esto es una cosa rara, pero sucede de vez en cuando. 1 Timoteo 3:6: “Pero él [un pastor] no debe ser un nuevo creyente, no sea que, siendo enaltecido con orgullo, caiga en la condenación del diablo”.

De lo contrario, los creyentes en Cristo necesitan ser parte de una asamblea local de creyentes (una iglesia). ¡Los nuevos creyentes no pueden entender correctamente la Biblia mediante un estudio independiente! Yo mismo lo hice cuando era nuevo en la fe, pero muchas de mis doctrinas en esos días estaban en error, porque era un bebé espiritual.

Hebreos 5:11-14: “De quien tenemos muchas cosas para decir, pero difícil de explicar, viendo que eres sordo de oído. Porque aunque en este momento deberíais ser maestros, necesitas que alguien os vuelva a enseñar cuales son los primeros principios de los Oráculos de Dios. Y os has convertido en los que necesitan leche, y no alimentos sólidos. Por cada persona que usa leche es inexperto en la Palabra de la justicia: porque él es un bebé espiritual; pero la comida sólida les pertenece a ellos que son espiritualmente maduros, que son los quien por motivo de uso habitual han entrenado sus sentidos para discernir tanto el bien y el mal”.

Pasé casi seis años en la universidad bíblica y el seminario (obtuve títulos de licenciatura y maestría), y puedo testificar que la Biblia no se puede entender correctamente solo mediante el estudio independiente. Necesitas la guía de creyentes maduros que hayan sido probados y hallados fieles al Señor.

Puedes encontrar a tales hombres con la ayuda del Espíritu Santo: si eres un cristiano nacido de nuevo, busca al Señor con todo tu corazón; y pídale que lo guíe a la universidad bíblica correcta ya la iglesia correcta para aprender la Palabra de Dios; y también pídanle que los aleje de aquellos que enseñan el error doctrinal. ¡Dios contestará esa oración!

Jeremías 33:2-3: “Así dice Jehová que hizo la tierra, Jehová que la formó para afirmarla; Jehová es su Nombre: ‘Clama a mí, y yo te responderé, y te enseñaré cosas grandes y difíciles que tú no conoces’”.

Observe cómo la Conclusión se divide en dos párrafos con cinco subpárrafos en cada uno; y ambos grupos de incisos tienen el diseño “OO-CCU” o “Dos opuestos, dos complementos y uno único”. Este es el diseño estándar para casi todas las secciones de Conclusión en la División Uno de la Santa Biblia (diseño de Proporción Áurea).

Esto sería imposible excepto que es verdad, porque la Biblia es la Palabra de Dios, dada por Inspiración del Espíritu Santo:

2 Pedro 1:20-21: “Sabiendo esto primero, que ninguna profecía de la Escritura viene de cualquier interpretación privada: porque la profecía no llegó en ningún momento por la voluntad del hombre, pero los santos hombres de Dios hablaron como fueron llevados a lo largo por el Espíritu Santo”.

2 Timoteo 3:16: ““Toda la Escritura es dada por inspiración de Dios; y es beneficioso para la doctrina, para la reprensión, para la corrección, y para la instrucción en la rectitud; para que el hombre de Dios puede estar completo y completamente equipado para todo buen trabajo”.

¶El complemento Saludad a todos los que están en el Señor (13:22 - 25)

¡El Apóstol Pablo dijo que la Carta a los Hebreos era sólo unas “pocas palabras”!Las generaciones mayores eran muy diferentes a nuestras generaciones que crecieron con la televisión, Internet y Youtube. La mayoría de las personas en estos días tienen problemas para leer más que unas pocas palabras de la Biblia; incluso un texto simple como Juan 3:16 puede ser una carga pesada para muchos.

En los viejos tiempos sin televisión e Internet, leer un libro largo no era algo inusual. ¡Literalmente no había nada más que hacer en muchos casos! Hemos ganado mucho con internet; pero también hemos perdido muchas cosas que nunca recuperaremos. Sospecho que para la mayoría de las personas, ser capaz de leer una carta larga o un libro es uno de ellos.

Lo opuesto Sabed que nuestro hermano Timoteo ha sido puesto en libertad; con quien, si él viene dentro de poco, os veré.

No sabemos si esta referencia a “Timoteo” es el mismo “Timoteo” que fue pastor alumno del Apóstol Pablo; pero creo que es probable. Si el Apóstol Pablo fue el autor humano de Hebreos (como creo), entonces esta referencia lo confirma.

Cirilo de Jerusalén (313 - 386 d.C.) dijo que

Pablo, “predicó plenamente el Evangelio e instruyó incluso a la Roma imperial, y llevó la seriedad de su predicación hasta España, pasando por innumerables conflictos y realizando señales y prodigios.” Cirilo sobre Pablo y los dones del Espíritu Santo (Padres Nicenos y Post-Nicenos, Serie II Volumen VII, Conferencia 17, párr. 26)

Pablo pasó dos años en Roma esperando juicio; y luego fue liberado, pero arrestado nuevamente en Asia Menor (actual Turquía) y llevado de regreso a Roma donde fue ejecutado entre el 64 y el 68 d.C.

Me parece probable que Pablo escribiera esta Carta a los Hebreos durante sus dos años de arresto domiciliario en Roma, lo cual concuerda con

Hebreos 13:24b: “Los de Italia os saludan”.

El apóstol Pablo era un experto en hebreo, griego y arameo; y fue entrenado por uno de los principales eruditos judíos de su tiempo, Gamaliel. ¡También fue instruido en persona por Cristo Resucitado durante tres años (Gálatas 1: 11-17)!

Así que él era el hombre ideal para proporcionar este increíble manual de instrucciones en teología cristiana.

Filipenses 3:4-6: “Aunque tengo también de qué confiar en la carne. Si algún otro hombre piensa que tiene razones para confiar en la carne, yo tengo más: circuncidado al octavo día, del linaje de Israel, de la tribu de Benjamín, hebreo de hebreos, en cuanto a la Ley, fariseo; en cuanto a celo, perseguidor de la Asamblea; en cuanto a la justicia que es en la Ley de Moisés, intachable”.

Además, Pablo también escribió otras 13 cartas de la Escritura Sagrada a las iglesias cristianas sobre casi todos los temas teológicos: Romanos, Filipenses, Filemón, Tito, 1 y 2 Corintios, 1 y 2 Tesalonicenses, Colosenses, Gálatas, 1 y 2 Timoteo y Efesios.

Los otros Apóstoles, incluido Pedro, solo escribieron una o dos letras de la Escritura como máximo; excepto para el Apóstol Juan, que escribió cinco: Apocalipsis, el Evangelio de Juan y las cartas de 1, 2 y 3 Juan. Pero nadie argumentaría que Juan podría haber escrito Hebreos. El estilo y el contenido son muy diferentes a los cinco documentos que sabemos que fueron escritos por John.

¡Así que Pablo fue el principal teólogo de las iglesias apostólicas! Nadie más estaba mejor calificado para explicar el Evangelio de Cristo a los judíos. Por lo tanto, estoy convencido de que Pablo fue el autor humano de Hebreos.

Libro 5.1 (Hebreos y Romanos): El camino hacia una relación del nuevo pacto con Jehová Dios

Único Obedeced la voluntad de Jehová Dios para convertirte en un judío completo en Jesucristo vuestra Mesías (12:1 -13:25)

La Carta a los Hebreos fue escrita para los judíos del primer siglo que habían sido salvados bajos el Antiguo Pacto ANTES de la obra expiatoria de Cristo en la cruz en el año 30 d.C.

¡Estos judíos eran hijos de Dios! Sin embargo, debido a que el Plan de Salvación finalmente se había completado, su camino anterior hacia Jehová Dios a través del sacrificio de animales en el Templo de Jerusalén ya no era válido; por lo tanto, para que continuaran en comunión con Jehová su Dios, se les REQUIRIÓ que aceptaran al Señor Jesucristo como su Mesías, su Salvador y su Sumo Sacerdote; de lo contrario, su comunión con Jehová se rompería y comenzarían un descenso a la oscuridad espiritual que terminaría con su muerte en el año 70 d.C. a manos del ejército romano de Tito, que arrasó Jerusalén y el Templo hasta los cimientos y mató a más de un millón de judíos en el asedio de la ciudad.

Esta carta tiene una interpretación específica que se aplica solo a un grupo específico de personas (judíos que habían sido salvados bajos el Antiguo Pacto antes de que Cristo expiara nuestros pecados en la cruz en el año 30 d.C.). La interpretación no se aplica directamente a ningún otro grupo; aunque, hay muchas aplicaciones que se pueden hacer a los cristianos hoy; y como habéis visto, hemos aprendido muchas verdades preciosas de esta Carta que nos ayudarán a crecer espiritualmente como creyentes hoy.

Por ejemplo, Hebreos tiene mucha enseñanza sobre el sumo sacerdocio de Jesucristo, según el orden de Melquisedec. Éste es un tema central de Hebreos, porque los judíos necesitaban entender por qué el sacerdocio de Aarón, un pilar central del Antiguo Pacto, había sido reemplazado; y todo en lo que estaba involucrado el sacerdote de Aarón, desde los sacrificios de animales hasta el día de reposo, el diezmo de las cosechas, la celebración de las grandes fiestas de Israel y el juicio al pueblo de los judíos, ahora era inválido bajo el Nuevo Pacto.

Para los gentiles, ninguna de estas cosas es relevante, porque todas las cosas que hizo el sacerdote de Aarón solo tenían sentido para los judíos.

Los Apóstoles celebraron un Concilio en Hechos 15:23-29 para discutir si los gentiles deberían estar obligados a guardar la Ley de Moisés junto con todos los juicios, ordenanzas y estatutos que fueron diseñados para la nación de Israel; y aquí está su conclusión: ¡No!

Hechos 15:23-29: “Y escribieron una carta por ellos de esta manera: “Los Apóstoles y los ancianos y los hermanos: a los hermanos que son de los Gentiles que están en Antioquía, y en Siria, y en Cilicia, saludos. Por cuanto hemos oído que algunos que salieron de nosotros os han turbado con palabras, trastornando vuestras almas, diciendo: “Debéis ser circuncidados y guardar la ley” (a quienes no le dimos tal mandamiento), nos ha parecido bien, reunidos unánimes, para enviarte hombres escogidos, con nuestros amados Bernabé y Pablo, hombres que han puesto en peligro sus vidas por el Nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo. Por tanto, hemos enviado a Judas y a Silas, quienes también os dirán las mismas cosas de boca. Porque parecía bueno al Espíritu Santo, y a nosotros, poner sobre os no mayor carga que estas cosas necesarias: que os abstengáis desde comida ofrecida a los ídolos, y desde sangre, y desde cosas estranguladas, y desde fornicación; desde lo cual, si os guardáis ustedes mismos, bien haréis. Despedida.””

Dado que los sacrificios de animales ahora fueron reemplazados por la Obra Terminada de Cristo en la cruz (una vez para siempre, para nunca repetirse), y el sacerdocio de Aarón fue reemplazado por el sacerdocio de Cristo según Melquisedec, el Nuevo Pacto era dramáticamente diferente al Antiguo Pacto.

En Romanos, Pablo no menciona

1) El Sacerdocio de Cristo del Nuevo Pacto según Melquisedec

2) El sacerdocio del Antiguo Pacto de Aarón

3) El sacrificio de animales

Esos temas fueron centrales en la Carta a los Hebreos.

En Romanos, Pablo solo resumió las tres cosas principales mencionadas en Hebreos como “la Ley”; y luego explicó cómo la Ley de Moisés se relacionaba con la fe en Cristo bajo el Nuevo Pacto.

La Ley de Moisés (específicamente los Diez Mandamientos) tiene un solo propósito: ¡nos dice que somos pecadores! No puede justificarnos o hacernos justos con Dios. Si tratamos de guardar la Ley como un medio para ir al Cielo, entonces Dios no tendrá más remedio pero enviarnos al Infierno cuando muramos, ¡porque la Ley solo puede condenarnos!

Jesús vino a completar la Obra de la Salvación en la cruz, para expiar todos nuestros pecados (pasados, presentes y futuros), para que podamos ser justificados de todo pecado y hechos justos y santos a los ojos de Dios; ¡y todo lo que tenemos que hacer es arrepentirnos (reconocer nuestra pecaminosidad ante Dios) y creer en la Obra Terminada de Cristo en la cruz! ¡Amén y amén!

La Carta a los Romanos fue escrita para ambos judíos y gentiles para explicar el Evangelio de Jesucristo “desde la fe [salvadora] a la fe [madura]”.

Romanos 1:17: “Porque en ella [el Evangelio de Cristo], la justicia de Dios se revela desde la fe [salvadora] a la fe [madura], como está escrito, “El justo vivirá por la fe”.

En otras palabras, ¿cómo puede un judío o un gentil (todos los demás) salvarse de sus pecados e ir al Cielo cuando mueren? ¿Y cuál es el cuadro completo de esta teología desde las enseñanzas básicas hasta las avanzadas? De esto trata la carta a los Romanos.

¶El complemento Parte 2 (Romanos): Para todos los judíos y gentiles desde el primer siglo en adelante (1:1 - 16:27)

Lo opuesto Capítulo 2.1: Ambos judíos y gentiles han rechazado el único verdadero Dios y serán juzgados por la antigua Pacto Ley de Moisés (1:1 - 2:16)

Lo opuesto Capítulo 2.2: Ambos judíos y gentiles sólo puede justificarse a través de la fe sola en la obra terminada de Cristo (2:17 - 5:21)

El complemento Capítulo 2.3: El Espíritu Santo entregará creyentes desde el poder del pecado si caminan en obediencia a Él (6:1 - 8:39)

El complemento Capítulo 2.4: La Elección de Dios salvará a un remanente de Israel a pesar de su incredulidad en el Evangelio de Cristo (9:1 - 11:36)

Único Capítulo 2.5: El Nuevo Pacto Evangelio de Cristo nos llama a servir a Dios en cada parte de nuestras vidas (12:1 - 16:27)

La semana que viene, comenzaremos nuestro estudio de la Carta a los Romanos con el Capítulo 2.1: Ambos judíos y gentiles han rechazado el único verdadero Dios y serán juzgados por la antigua Pacto Ley de Moisés (1:1 - 2:16)

¡Mahoma y el Islam NO son el Camino a Dios! ¡María no es el Camino a Jesús ni al Cielo! ¡Ninguna iglesia, ningún bautismo y ninguna buena obra pueden salvarte!

Jesús dijo: “Yo soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida: nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí”. Juan 14:6.

El Corán (17:111) dice que Alá no tiene hijo. ¡La Biblia está de acuerdo, porque el único Dios verdadero de la Biblia tiene un Hijo, y su Nombre es el Señor Jesucristo! ¡Por lo tanto, “alá” no es Dios!

Aun los demonios saben que Jehová Elohim tiene un Hijo, y lo reconocieron en Jesucristo:

Marcos 3:11: “Y los espíritus inmundos, al verle, se postraban delante de él, y daban voces, diciendo, “¡Tú eres el Hijo de Dios!”

Los reformadores protestantes tenían 100% de razón sobre el Papa: ¡todos decían que él era un anticristo! ¡La religión católica es mucho peor hoy que en los días de los reformadores! ¡No hay salvación en ninguna iglesia y no hay esperanza en el Papa!

Si usted es musulmán, católico romano, hindú, bahai, ateo/agnóstico, o una persona que es miembro de una iglesia, pero tú confía en tu bautismo o en tus buenas obras para ser salvado, entonces eres un pecador ante Dios que pronto comparecerá ante Él en el Juicio; ¡después de lo cual te arrojará al lago de fuego por los siglos de los siglos!

¿Te das cuenta de que en el cielo: musulmanes, católicos romanos, hindúes, bahá’ís, sintoístas, ateos/agnósticos y falsos cristianos nunca podrán entrar en ese lugar sagrado? ¡Así es, amigo! Cualquiera que no sea un cristiano nacido de nuevo, nunca verá las glorias y maravillas del Cielo, porque estará en el Infierno hasta el juicio del Gran Trono Blanco; y después de eso, el Lago de Fuego, por los siglos de los siglos; ¡y nunca saldrás!

¡Que Dios te abra los ojos al peligro extremo en el que te encuentras ahora mismo! Si tu corazón dejara de latir por alguna razón, caerías instantáneamente en un lugar terrible Si tu corazón dejara de latir por alguna razón, ¡caerías instantáneamente en un lugar terrible que está lleno de azufre ardiente, fuego, y continuos lamentos, llantos, crujir de dientes y sufrimiento extremo por todos los que están en ese lugar! ¡Estás literalmente a solo un latido del corazón del infierno!

El único escape para ti de ese terrible lugar llamado Infierno es la Obra Terminada de Jesucristo en la cruz hace 2000 años. Jesús sufrió en la cruz por los pecados de toda la humanidad: pasados, presentes y futuros; y eso te incluía a ti ya mí, ¡gracias a Dios! Su sufrimiento es suficiente para que hagas las paces con Dios, quien está enojado contigo a causa de tus pecados.

Todo lo que debe hacer es creer en el Señor Jesucristo, que Él es el Hijo de Dios que vino a la Tierra para nacer de una virgen, vivió una vida perfecta y sin pecado durante 33 años, fue crucificado y sufrió un dolor inimaginable, para que no tengamos que sufrir en el Infierno, si hemos confiado en Él para salvarnos; y cuando murió, lo pusieron en un sepulcro por 3 días. ¡Después, Jesús resucitó de entre los muertos, victorioso sobre el pecado, la muerte, el infierno y la tumba! Amén.

También debes comprender y creer que eres un pecador; ¡y que tus pecados ayudaron a poner a Jesucristo en la cruz! ¡Así es, amigo! ¡Jesús murió POR TI, para que tengas Vida Eterna!

Juan 3:16: Jesús dijo, “Porque Dios amó tanto al mundo, que él dio a su Hijo unigénito, que cualquiera que cree en él no deberían perecer, sino tener Vida Eterna.”

¿Crees estas cosas? Entonces y solo entonces podrás pedir perdón, basado en tu fe en lo que Jesús hizo por ti en la cruz hace 2000 años. Es su OBRA TERMINADA (no podemos agregarle ni quitarle nada). Es un regalo de Dios que nos fue dado; ¡pero su Obra Terminada por nosotros no nos hará ningún bien A MENOS QUE LO ACEPTEMOS COMO NUESTRO SALVADOR PERSONAL!

Si crees en Jesús, pero no oras para recibir su regalo de salvación, ¡aún irás al infierno!

Romanos 10:13: “Porque está escrito, “Cualquiera que llamará sobre el Nombre del Señor será salvado.”

Así es como puede ser salvado, SI USTED CREE todo lo que acabo de explicar. Reza esta oración con todo tu corazón para recibir a Cristo como tu Salvador:

“Señor Jesús, sé que he pecado contra TI. ¡No soy bueno y tú eres justo! Creo que moriste en la cruz por mis pecados, fuiste enterrado y resucitaste de entre los muertos al tercer día. Quiero que vengas a mi vida y seas mi Señor y Salvador. Por favor entra en mi corazón ahora mismo. Perdóname por todos mis pecados y salva mi alma. En el poderoso Nombre de Jesús, oro, ¡Amén!”
