Preface: The Letter to the Hebrews was written to the Jews of the first century who had been saved under the Old Covenant using the system of animal sacrifices in the Temple of Herod and the priesthood of Aaron and his sons.

But now that Christ had already atoned for the sins of the world on the cross of Calvary in 33 A.D., those Jews needed to move from the Old Covenant of repeated animal sacrifices to the New Covenant of Christ, which was based only on his sacrifice on the cross, which was finished and completed, once for all time: never to be repeated. This is a very important point, from which I will make applications in this study.

This process of moving from the Old to the New Covenant was one of completion for these Jews. They were already the children of God by faith! But they were incomplete in their faith without Christ as the center of their faith: it was time for them to grow up and embrace Christ, or be judged by Jehovah for their disobedience.

This letter was not written for anyone outside of this group of people; either they became followers of Christ (we know that some of them did), or they continued under the Old Covenant and were punished with death in the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 A.D.

We can apply many spiritual lessons for Christians today; but the interpretation of this letter belongs only to the Jews of the first century. Any other interpretation will lead you into doctrinal errors.

The Golden Ratio design and outline of Hebrews, Chapter 1.5:

Hebrews, Chapter 1.5: Become completed Jews in Jesus Christ your Messiah (12:1 -13:25)

Opposite Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and into the Ages. Be not carried about with various and strange doctrines: for it is a good thing that the heart is established with grace. But not with foods, which have not benefited them that have been occupied in it.

Complement We have an altar, of which they who serve the Tabernacle, have no right to eat: for the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the Sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp; therefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate. Therefore, let us go forth to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach: for here we have no permanent city, but we seek one to come.

Complement By him, therefore, let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually; that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his Name. But to do good, and to share forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Unique Obey them that rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account to God; that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Comments: Notice the Golden Ratio design of the internal sub-paragraphs of this paragraph (Hebrews 13:7 - 17): two opposites, two complements, and one unique. It is the opposite design from the previous paragraph; and the themes of the paragraphs oppose each other as well:

This is a continuation of the previous study from last week, so I hope that you have already read that. If not, please go to the Hebrews and Romans Table of Contents page and select it from the list before continuing here.

Now notice in the paragraph outlined above, that the Apostle Paul twice mentions “them who rule over you”. This is an obvious reference to the pastor of the assembly or the church: Greek “Ecclesia”. It could include the deacons of the church or other spiritual leaders, such as Sunday school teachers; but biblically, these would be men.

Even in Jerusalem, the place where the believers in Jesus Christ met was called an Assembly or “Ecclesia”. They met together for worship in the Temple of Herod in the beginning; but later, they had their own building for meetings.

Acts 2:46-47: “And continuing daily with one accord in the Temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and singleness of heart: praising God, and having favor with all the people; and each day the Lord added to the ASSEMBLY the ones being saved.”

Notice in this text from the Book of Acts that the believers themselves were the “Ecclesia”, not the building or place where they met. Today we have buildings called “churches”, but this is only a convenient label. The believers are the Ecclesia.

Strong’s Concordance defines Ecclesia as:

“ἐκκλησία, ἐκκλεσιας, ἡ (from ἔκκλητος called out or forth, and this from ἐκκαλέω); properly, a gathering of citizens called out from their homes into some public place; an assembly.”

It is very important to notice that the literal meaning of this Greek word is

“a gathering of citizens who were called out from their homes into some public place, an assembly.”

The Ecclesia is not invisible! Believers who have gathered together into a public place are visible. You can shake hands, talk to one another, pray together, listen to preaching, sing and worship the Lord together. That is a Biblical Ecclesia!

Therefore, any other definition is unbiblical and illegitimate! Sadly, there are many other definitions that we can hear every week (such as the universal, invisible Church), even from the best Christian leaders in both seminaries and churches. I don’t have time in this study to provide a full background, but I will at some point, because believers need to understand this issue. It is a “secondary” issue in importance to doctrines such as salvation; however, it is important for the leaders of Christians to not teach false doctrine about anything, and that includes the Ecclesia.

But the doctrine of the “Church” can also send you to Hell when you die, if you are taught that the “Church” is like an Ark (like Noah’s Ark) that will take you to Heaven, so all you have to do is to be baptized into the Church and be faithful to it, and everything will be good for you. WRONG! This doctrine is taught by the Roman Catholic religion; and it is a lie! Jesus [through our faith in his Finished Work on the cross] is the Way to Heaven, not "the Church", or Mary, or Mohammad, or anyone else. Amen!

Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.” John 14:6.

Islam and other religions teach something similar, that if you do everything that Mohammad (or other other teacher, swami, or guru) says, then your good works will either make you acceptable to “God” (as defined by them, not the God of the Bible), and you will be okay (eventually). Again, this is false. Jesus is the only Way to Heaven, not your religion!

Secondly, Paul provided some basic guidance here to help Believers (this applies to both Messianic Jews and Gentiles).

1) The Pastor:

Hebrews 13:7: “Remember them who rule over you, who have spoken to you the Word of God; whose faith follow: considering the end of their conduct. “

Hebrews 13:17: “Obey them that rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account to God; that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Regular attendance at a Bible believing church is extremely important for your spiritual growth. If you have been born again through repentance and faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the cross, then God wants you to receive weekly spiritual nourishment from a pastor who is well-trained in the Word of God, and who shows evidence in his countenance and in his life that he is a dedicated follower of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Unfortunately, a church sign that says “Baptist” or “Fundamental” on it does not guarantee that the pastor of that church is a man of God! So how can you, as a believer in Christ, know that your pastor is a true man of God?

1) Consider the end of their conduct! In other words, watch what they do. Listen to his sermons, but watch his actions. You will soon know whether he is a man of God or a false prophet.

Does he tell lies?

Does he ogle women?

Does he make comments about women that are not appropriate?

Are the main focus of his sermons MONEY?

These are RED FLAGS to you that this man is not of God. You should immediately leave that church and find a better one.

Many years ago, my pastor told our church about another pastor that was like this. My pastor had gone to his city to preach at his church; the pastor was driving him to the meeting, but along the way, the pastor said something like, “Look at that!” And my pastor saw that he was talking about a woman. To my pastor’s credit, he refused to preach at that pastor’s church and went back to his home! Good for him; Amen!

Any man (pastor or not) whose can openly lust after another woman without embarrassment is not of God! This is an obvious sin against God (Matthew 5:28) and it marks him to be unworthy as a leader of other Christians.

1 Timothy 3:2: “An Overseer then must be blameless, a husband of only one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior...”

I Timothy 4:12: “Let no man despise your youth, but be an example of the believers, in spoken word, in conduct, in selfless love, in spirit, in faith, and in [sexual] purity.”

Are the main focus of his sermons the Lord Jesus Christ and bringing souls to Jesus Christ to be saved? Are his sermons filled with Scripture? These are signs of a godly pastor who loves God and wants to do his will. Here are a few more:

A true man of God is honest about everything. You can depend on his word to be true.

2 Timothy 2:19: “Nevertheless, the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal, “[Jehovah] knows them that are his.” And, “Let every one that names the Name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

Personal example: Many years ago, I met a pastor who was a liar. He worked as a security guard part time, and he admitted to me that he kept a knife on him just in case that he had to shoot someone so that he could plant the knife on him and claim self-defense! In other words, he was ready to tell a lie and it didn’t bother him at all! I knew immediately that this man was a false prophet. He was not a born again Christian. He believed that he was, but his words told me the truth about his soul. No genuine born-again Christian could do something like this, because the Lord would chastise him! But this “pastor” had no problem with it. Sad!

A true man of God is very circumspect around women other than his wife. He is very careful to be holy with the opposite sex, including children.

Honesty and good morals are very good indicators (although it is not proof) of what is going on in a person’s heart: not only on Sunday morning, but at home and every day of the week. Amen!

Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and witches, and idolaters, and ALL LIARS, shall have their part in the Lake burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

Even if the pastor is a true born again Christian, but he has bad morals, this is also a red flag to you that you must leave that church and find a better one, because he is unqualified for the ministry!

1 Timothy 3:1-7: “This is a true saying: if a man aspires to the office of an Overseer, he desires a good work. An Overseer [or pastor] then must be blameless, a husband of only one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, able to teach; not next to any wine; not quick-tempered; not greedy for dishonest gain, but patient; not a fighter; not covetous; one that rules well his own household, having his children in subjection with all gravity. For if a man does not know how to rule his own household, how shall he take care of the Assembly of God? But he must not be a new believer, lest being lifted up with pride, he falls into the condemnation of the devil. Also, he must have a good testimony of them that are outside the Assembly, lest he falls into reproach and the snare of the devil.”

It is okay for the pastor to talk about money, because it is an important part of the Bible; however, it must not be the only topic. If tithing is the main topic every week, this is a bad sign that you may be listening to a false prophet. I advise that you find a better church to attend if possible.

Also, you must be a regular reader of the Bible! Your knowledge of the Bible will help you to detect when your pastor is teaching false doctrines.

Now it is difficult for an untrained believer (someone who has not had formal training in the Bible) to determine true from false doctrine, especially when it comes to complex questions. This is why I encourage everyone to attend at least one year of formal Bible training in a Bible college or institute. The more the better!

Acts 17:10-12: “And the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea; who coming there went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the Word with all readiness of mind; and they searched the Scriptures daily, to see whether those things were true. Therefore many of them believed in Christ; also of honorable women who were Greeks, and of men, not a few.”

These studies are intended to help you in this area, although it will not substitute completely for a Bible college degree.

2) The believer in Christ must be grounded in the Bible:

Hebrews 13:8-9: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and into the Ages. Be not carried about with various and strange doctrines: for it is a good thing that the heart is established with grace. But not with foods, which have not benefited them that have been occupied in it.”

2 Timothy 2:15: “Study [the Bible] to show yourself approved unto God: a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.”

This text is stressing the need to be grounded and instructed by the Word of God! Many people are happy to be led and fed by someone else. They don’t want to think for themselves, because their lives are busy and they rarely, if ever, read the Bible for themselves. They won’t carry a Bible to church; and even if they do, they can’t find any particular document in the Bible such as Matthew or Revelation.

But this is very dangerous, because there are MANY false prophets in the world! Amen. Just look at the comments on my Bible studies on Facebook. Every day, I have to block and delete false prophets or scammers of one kind or another: men like Baba Yaga in Africa are always posting on my studies, claiming to offer healings and all kinds of help in exchange for money. These false prophets are from Satan! Avoid them at all costs. Amen.

Also, there are many false pastors and evangelists! You must know the Bible well if you have any hope of detecting these wolves in sheep’s clothing!

3) The believer in Christ must be separated from the world unto Jesus Christ:

Hebrews 13:10-14: “We have an altar, of which they who serve the Tabernacle, have no right to eat: for the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the Sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp; therefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered outside the gate. Therefore, let us go forth to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach: for here we have no permanent city, but we seek one to come.”

That doesn't mean that we should cut ourselves off from all contact with the world; no, we are living in the sinful world; but we are not of the sinful world:

I Corinthians 5:9-10: "I wrote to you in a letter not to associate with fornicators; yet not completely from the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortionists, or with idolaters: for then you would be obliged to leave the world."

John 15:18-19: Jesus said, "If the world hates you, you know that it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love his own; but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world; therefore the world hates you."

An unholy Christian is not right with God! No one is perfect, for sure; but a born-again believer in Christ should be always seeking to be more like Christ every day, because this world is not a friend of the Lord Jesus Christ. The world does not want Christ to return, nor does the world care about the Bible, the Word of God. If you are trying to be a friend of the world, then you have made yourself into an enemy of God:

James 4:4: “You adulterers and adulteresses, do you not know that the friendship of the world of sin is hatred of God? Therefore, whosoever chooses to be a friend of the world [of sin] has become an enemy of God.”

“This world is not my home; I’m just passing through!”

4) The believer in Christ must not become comfortable with this world.

Hebrews 13:14: “for here we have no permanent city, but we seek one to come.”

Many churches that used to be on fire for God, preaching the Gospel to their neighborhoods and cities, are no longer doing that! They have become comfortable with this world, and they are no longer “salt” and “light”. They resemble social clubs rather than prayer meetings; they may talk about the Bible, but they don’t go soul-winning anymore; and most of the church members are old. These churches are dying! It is only a matter of time until the property is sold and the church is disbanded. Very sad!

This is not the will of God! Amen. The only way to keep the church doors open is to keep visiting your neighbors and inviting them to come to the Lord and be saved; for here we have no permanent city, but we seek one to come. Amen.

Let us go forth to Jesus outside the camp of this world, bearing his reproach joyfully!

5) The believer in Christ must be willing to share of what God has blessed him/her with.

Hebrews 13:15-16: “By him, therefore, let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually; that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his Name. But to do good, and to share forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

In addition to separation from sin to Christ, the believer must not be selfish with his or her money. Whether you believe in the tithe or not, God wants every believer to be willing to donate some of their income to support their church; and to help other causes, such as missionary work in other cities or countries.

Giving money requires an honest pastor who loves God first, and his own financial situation last. No one should be giving their pastor a big limousine, or a personal jet, or a big mansion to live in. If your pastor is always asking for things like this, your pastor is a false prophet!

1 Timothy 6:6-10: “But godliness with contentment is great gain: for we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out; and having food and clothing, let us be content with these things. But they [pastors] that want to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition: for the love of money is the root of all evil; which while some coveted after, they have wandered from the Faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”

If your pastor is a true man of God, and your church is focused on bringing men, women, boys, and girls to Jesus Christ to be born again through the preaching of the Finished Work of Christ for the atonement of their sins, then you should give generously to help your pastor and his church to accomplish the Great Commission, because that is the entire mission of a true, Biblical church.

Matthew 28:18-20: “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority was given to me in Heaven and upon earth. Therefore go, and train disciples out of all nations; baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And, lo, I am with you always, even until the end of the Age.” Amen.

Muhammad and Islam is NOT the Way to God! Mary is not the Way to Jesus or to Heaven! No church and no baptism and no good works can save you!

Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.” John 14:6.

The Quran (17:111) says that allah has no son. The Bible agrees, because the one true God of the Bible has a Son, and his Name is the Lord Jesus Christ! Therefore, “allah” is not God!

Even the devils know that Jehovah Elohim has a Son, and they recognized Him in Jesus Christ:

Mark 3:11: “And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him; and they cried, saying, “You are the Son of God!”

I John 2:22-23: “Who is the liar, if not he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is Antichrist: the one who denies the equality of the Father and the Son. Whosoever denies the Son, does not have the Father; but he that confesses the Son has the Father also.”

The Protestant Reformers were 100% right about the Pope: They all said he was an antichrist! The Catholic religion is much worse today than in the days of the reformers! There is no salvation in any church and there is no hope in the Pope!

If you are a Muslim, a Roman Catholic, a Hindu, a Bahai, an atheist/agnostic, or a person who is a church member, but you are trusting in your baptism or your good works to be saved, then you are a sinner before God who will soon stand before Him in Judgment; after which He will cast you into the Lake of Fire forever and ever and ever!

Do you realize that in Heaven: Muslims, Roman Catholics, Hindus, Bahais, Shintos, atheists/agnostics, and false Christians will never be allowed into that holy place? That’s right, friend! Anyone who is not a born again Christian will never see the glories and wonders of Heaven, because you will be in Hell until the Great White Throne judgment; and after that, the Lake of Fire, forever and ever; and you will never get out!

May God open your eyes to the extreme danger that you are in right now! If your heart would stop beating for any reason, you would instantly drop down into a terrible place that is full of burning sulphur, fire, and continuous wailing, crying, gnashing of teeth, and extreme suffering by all who are in that place! You are literally only a heartbeat away from Hell!

The only escape for you from that terrible place called Hell is the Finished Work of Jesus Christ on the cross 2,000 years ago. Jesus suffered on the cross for the sins of all mankind: past, present, and future; and that included you and me, thank God! His suffering is enough for you to make peace with God, who is angry with you because of your sins.

All you must do is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God who came to Earth to be born of a virgin, lived a sinless, perfect life for 33 years, was crucified and suffered unimaginable pain on our behalf so that we don’t have to suffer in Hell, if we have trusted Him to save us; and when He died, they placed Him in a tomb for 3 days. Afterward, Jesus arose from the dead, victorious over sin, death, Hell and the grave! Amen.

You must also understand and believe that you are a sinner; and that your sins helped to put Jesus Christ on the cross! That’s right, friend! Jesus died FOR YOU, so that you might have Everlasting Life!

John 3:16: Jesus said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have Everlasting Life.”

Do you believe these things? Then and only then can you ask for forgiveness, based on your faith in what Jesus did for you on the cross 2,000 years ago. It is his FINISHED WORK (we cannot add to it nor subtract anything from it). It is a gift from God that was given to us; but his Finished Work for us won’t do us any good UNLESS WE ACCEPT HIM AS OUR PERSONAL SAVIOR!

If you believe in Jesus, but do not pray to receive his gift of salvation, then you will still go to Hell!

Romans 10:13: “for it is written, “whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Here is how you can be saved, IF YOU BELIEVE everything that I just explained. Pray this prayer with all of your heart to receive Christ as your Savior:

“Lord Jesus, I know that I have sinned against YOU. I am no good, and you are righteous! You are my only hope for salvation! I believe that you died on the cross for my sins, you were buried, and you rose again from the dead on the third day. I want you to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart right now. Forgive me for all my sins, and save my soul. In the mighty Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen!”

Prefacio: La Carta a los Hebreos fue escrita a los judíos del primer siglo que se habían salvado bajo el Antiguo Pacto usando el sistema de sacrificios de animales en el Templo de Herodes y el sacerdocio de Aarón y sus hijos.

Pero ahora que Cristo ya había expiado los pecados del mundo en la cruz del Calvario en el año 30 d.C., esos judíos necesitaban pasar del Antiguo Pacto de repetidos sacrificios de animales al Nuevo Pacto de Cristo, que se basó únicamente en su sacrificio en la cruz, que fue consumado y completado, una vez para siempre: nunca se repetirá. Esta carta no fue escrita para nadie fuera de este grupo de personas; o se hicieron seguidores de Cristo (sabemos que algunos de ellos lo hicieron), o continuaron bajo el Antiguo Pacto y fueron castigados con la muerte en la destrucción de Jerusalén y el Templo en el 70 d.C.

Podemos aplicar muchas lecciones espirituales para los cristianos de hoy; pero la interpretación de esta carta pertenece solo a los judíos del primer siglo hasta el 70 d.C. Cualquier otra interpretación te conducirá a errores doctrinales.

Lo opuesto Jesucristo es el mismo ayer, y hoy, y hasta las edades. No os dejéis llevar con varias y extrañas doctrinas: porque es bueno que el corazón se establezca con la gracia. Pero no con los alimentos, que no han beneficiado a los que se han ocupado en ellas.

El complemento Tenemos un altar, del cual no tienen derecho de comer los que sirven al Tabernáculo: porque los cuerpos de aquellos animales, cuya sangre es traída dentro el Santuario por el sumo sacerdote por el pecado, son quemados fuera del campamento. Por tanto, también Jesús, para que él pueda santificar a la gente con su propia sangre, padeció fuera de la puerta. Por lo tanto, salgamos hacia él fuera del campamento, llevando su reproche: porque aquí no tenemos ciudad permanente, sino buscamos uno venir.

El complemento Por él, pues, ofrezcamos el sacrificio de alabanza a Dios continuamente; es decir, el fruto de nuestros labios dando gracias a su Nombre. Pero de hacer el bien, y de compartir, no os olvidéis, porque con tales sacrificios Dios está muy complacido.

Único Obedeced los que gobiernan sobre ustedes, y someted ustedes mismos: porque ellos vigilan por vuestras almas, como los que deben dar cuenta a Dios; para que lo hagan con gozo, y no con tristeza: porque eso no es provechoso para ustedes.

Comentarios: observe el diseño de la proporción áurea de los subpárrafos internos de este párrafo (Hebreos 13:7 - 17): dos opuestos, dos complementos y uno único. Es el diseño opuesto al del párrafo anterior; y los temas de los párrafos también se oponen entre sí:

Esta es una continuación del estudio anterior de la semana pasada, así que espero que ya lo hayas leído. Si no, vaya a la página de índice de Hebreos y Romanos y selecciónelo de la lista antes de continuar aquí.

Ahora fíjate en el párrafo descrito arriba, que el Apóstol Pablo menciona dos veces “los que os gobiernan”. Esta es una referencia obvia al pastor de la asamblea o la iglesia: Griego “Ecclesia”. Podría incluir a los diáconos de la iglesia u otros líderes espirituales, como los maestros de escuela dominical; pero bíblicamente, estos serían hombres.

Incluso en Jerusalén, el lugar donde se reunían los creyentes en Jesucristo se llamaba Asamblea o “Ecclesia”. Se reunían para adorar en el Templo de Herodes al principio; pero más tarde, tuvieron su propio edificio para reuniones.

Hechos 2:46-47: “Y perseverando unánimes cada día en el Templo, y partiendo el pan en las casas, ellos comían juntos con alegría y sencillez de corazón: alabando a Dios, y teniendo favor con todo el pueblo. Y el Señor añadía cada día a la Asamblea los que estaban siendo salvados”.

Nótese en este texto del Libro de los Hechos que los creyentes mismos eran la “Ecclesia”, no el edificio o lugar donde se reunían. Hoy tenemos edificios llamados “iglesias”, pero esta es solo una etiqueta conveniente. Los creyentes son la Ecclesia.

La “Concordancia de Strong” define a Ecclesia como:

“ἐκκλησία, ἐκκλεσιας, ἡ (desde ἔκκλητος llamado o [llamado] adelante, y esto desde ἐκκαλέω); propiamente, una reunión de ciudadanos llamados desde sus casas a algún lugar público; una asamblea [traducido del inglés]”.

Es muy importante notar que el significado literal de esta palabra griega es

“una reunión de ciudadanos llamados desde sus casas a algún lugar público; una asamblea”.

¡La Ecclesia no es invisible! Los creyentes que se han reunido en un lugar público son visibles. Pueden darse la mano, hablar unos con otros, orar juntos, escuchar predicaciones, cantar y adorar al Señor juntos. ¡Esa es una Ecclesia bíblica!

¡Por lo tanto, cualquier otra definición es antibíblica e ilegítima! Lamentablemente, hay muchas otras definiciones que podemos escuchar cada semana (como la Iglesia universal e invisible), incluso de los mejores líderes cristianos tanto en seminarios como en iglesias. No tengo tiempo en este estudio para proporcionar un trasfondo completo, pero lo haré en algún momento, porque los creyentes necesitan entender este tema. Es un tema “secundario” en importancia para doctrinas como la salvación; sin embargo, es importante que los líderes cristianos no enseñen doctrinas falsas sobre nada, y eso incluye a la Ecclesia.

Pero la doctrina de la “Iglesia” también puede enviarte al Infierno cuando mueras, si te enseñan que la “Iglesia” es como un Arca (como el Arca de Noé) que te llevará al Cielo, así que todo lo que tenéis que hacer es ser bautizados en la Iglesia y ser fieles a ella, y todo os irá bien. ¡EQUIVOCADO! Esta doctrina es enseñada por la religión católica romana; y es mentira! Jesús [a través de nuestra fe en su Obra Terminada en la cruz] es el Camino al Cielo, no "la Iglesia", ni María, ni Mahoma, ni nadie más. ¡Amén!

Jesús dijo: “Yo soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida: nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí”. Juan 14:6.

El Islam y otras religiones enseñan algo similar, que si haces todo lo que dice Mohammad (o otro maestro, swami o gurú), entonces tus buenas obras te harán aceptable para “Dios” (como lo definen ellos, no el Dios de la Biblia), y estarás bien (eventualmente). De nuevo, esto es falso. ¡Jesús es el único Camino al Cielo, no tu religión!

En segundo lugar, Pablo proporcionó una guía básica aquí para ayudar a los creyentes (esto se aplica tanto a los judíos mesiánicos y a los gentiles).

1) El pastor:

Hebrews 13:7: “Recordad los que gobiernan sobre ustedes, quien os han hablado la Palabra de Dios; cuya fe, seguid: considerando el fin de la conducta de ellos“.

Hebrews 13:17: “Obedeced los que gobiernan sobre ustedes, y someted ustedes mismos: porque ellos vigilan por vuestras almas, como los que deben dar cuenta a Dios; para que lo hagan con gozo, y no con tristeza: porque eso no es provechoso para ustedes”.

La asistencia regular a una iglesia que cree en la Biblia es extremadamente importante para tu crecimiento espiritual. Si has nacido de nuevo a través del arrepentimiento y la fe en la Obra Terminada de Cristo en la cruz, entonces Dios quiere que recibas alimento espiritual semanal de un pastor que esté bien entrenado en la Palabra de Dios, y que muestre evidencia en su semblante y en su vida de que es un seguidor dedicado del Señor Jesucristo.

Desafortunadamente, un letrero de una iglesia que dice “Bautista” o “Fundamental” no garantiza que el pastor de esa iglesia sea un hombre de Dios. Entonces, ¿cómo puede usted, como creyente en Cristo, saber que su pastor es un verdadero hombre de Dios?

1) ¡Considera el fin de su conducta! En otras palabras, observe lo que hacen. Escucha sus sermones, pero observa sus acciones. Pronto sabrás si es un hombre de Dios o un falso profeta.

¿Él dice mentiras?

¿Mira él con lujuria a mujeres que no sean su esposa?

¿Él hace comentarios acerca de las mujeres cual no son apropiados?

¿Son el enfoque principal de sus sermones DINERO?

Estas son BANDERAS ROJAS para ti de que este hombre no es de Dios. Debes abandonar inmediatamente esa iglesia y encontrar una mejor.

Hace muchos años, mi pastor le contó a nuestra iglesia acerca de otro pastor que era así. Mi pastor había ido a su ciudad a predicar en su iglesia; el pastor lo estaba conduciendo a la reunión, pero en el camino, el pastor dijo algo como: “¡Mira eso!” Y mi pastor vio que estaba hablando de una mujer. Para crédito de mi pastor, se negó a predicar en la iglesia de ese pastor y ¡regresó a su casa! Bien por él; ¡Amén!

¡Cualquier hombre (pastor o no) que pueda codiciar abiertamente a otra mujer sin vergüenza no es de Dios! Este es un pecado obvio contra Dios (Mateo 5:28) y lo marca como indigno como líder de otros cristianos.

1 Timoteo 3:2: “Un supervisor entonces debe ser irreprochable, marido de una sola esposa, vigilante, sobrio, de buen comportamiento...”.

I Timoteo 4:12: “Ninguno tenga en poco tu juventud; sino sé ejemplo de los creyentes en palabra, en conversación, en caridad, en espíritu, en fe, en pureza [sexual]”.

¿Son el enfoque principal de sus sermones el Señor Jesucristo y traer almas a Jesucristo para ser salvados? ¿Están sus sermones llenos de Escritura? Estos son signos de un pastor piadoso que ama a Dios y quiere hacer su voluntad. Aquí hay algunos más:

Un verdadero hombre de Dios es honesto acerca de todo. Puedes confiar en que su palabra es verdad.

2 Timoteo 2:19: “Pero el fundamento de Dios está firme, teniendo este sello: “[Jehová] conoce a los que son suyos”; y: “Apártese de iniquidad todo aquel que invoca el Nombre de Cristo”.

Ejemplo personal: Hace muchos años, conocí a un pastor que era mentiroso. Trabajó como guardia de seguridad a tiempo parcial, y me admitió que tenía un cuchillo en él en caso de que tuvo que dispararle a alguien, para que él pueda plantar el cuchillo sobre él y alegar defensa propia! En otras palabras, ¡estaba listo para decir una mentira y no le molestaba en absoluto! Inmediatamente supe que este hombre era un profeta falso. No era un cristiano nacido de nuevo. Él creía que lo era, pero sus palabras me dijeron la verdad sobre su alma. ¡Ningún cristiano genuino nacido de nuevo podría hacer algo como esto, porque el Señor lo castigaría! Pero este “pastor” no tuvo ningún problema con eso. ¡Triste!

Un verdadero hombre de Dios es muy circunspecto con las mujeres que no sean su esposa. Tiene mucho cuidado de ser santo con el sexo opuesto, incluidos los niños.

La honestidad y la buena moral son muy buenos indicadores (aunque no son prueba) de lo que está pasando en el corazón de una persona: no solo los domingos por la mañana, sino en casa y todos los días de la semana. ¡Amén!

La revelación 21:8: “Pero los temerosos e incrédulos, los abominables y homicidas, los fornicarios y hechiceros, los idólatras y todos los mentirosos tendrán su parte en el lago que arde con fuego y azufre, que es la muerte segunda”.

Incluso si el pastor es un verdadero cristiano nacido de nuevo, pero tiene mala moral, esto también es una señal de alerta para usted de que debe dejar esa iglesia y encontrar una mejor, ¡porque él no está calificado para el ministerio!

1 Timoteo 3:1-7: “Éste es un verdadero dicho: si un hombre aspira al cargo de un Supervisor, desea una buena obra. Un supervisor entonces debe ser irreprochable, marido de una sola esposa, vigilante, sobrio, de buen comportamiento, dado a la hospitalidad, capaz de enseñar; no al lado de cualquier vino, ni irascible, ni codicioso de ganancias deshonestas, sino paciente; no un luchador; ni codicioso; uno que gobierna bien su casa, teniendo a sus hijos en sujeción con toda gravedad. Porque si un hombre no sabe gobernar su propia casa, ¿cómo cuidará de la Asamblea de Dios? Pero él no debe ser un nuevo creyente, no sea que, siendo enaltecido con orgullo, él cae en la condenación del diablo. También es necesario que tenga buen testimonio de los de afuera, para que no caiga en descrédito y en lazo del diablo”.

Está bien que el pastor hable de dinero, porque es una parte importante de la Biblia; sin embargo, no debe ser el único tema. Si el diezmo es el tema principal cada semana, es una mala señal de que puede estar escuchando a un falso profeta. Le aconsejo que busque una mejor iglesia para asistir si es posible.

Además, ¡debes ser un lector regular de la Biblia! Tu conocimiento de la Biblia te ayudará a detectar cuando tu pastor está enseñando falsas doctrinas.

Ahora bien, es difícil para un creyente no entrenado (alguien que no ha tenido un entrenamiento formal en la Biblia) distinguir la doctrina verdadera de la falsa, especialmente cuando se trata de preguntas complejas. Es por eso que animo a todos a asistir al menos a un año de capacitación bíblica formal en un colegio o instituto bíblico. ¡Mientras más, mejor!

Hechos 17:10-12: “Y los hermanos inmediatamente enviaron a Pablo ya Silas de noche a Berea; quienes, llegando allí, entró en la sinagoga de los judíos. Estos eran más nobles que los de Tesalónica, porque recibieron la Palabra con toda disposición de la mente; y escudriñaban las Escrituras todos los días para ver si esas cosas eran verdad. Así que creyeron muchos de ellos; y mujeres griegas distinguidas, y no pocos hombres”.

Estos estudios están destinados a ayudarlo en esta área, aunque no sustituirán por completo un título universitario bíblico.

2) El creyente en Cristo debe estar cimentado en la Biblia:

Hebreos 13:8-9: “Jesucristo es el mismo ayer, y hoy, y hasta las edades. No os dejéis llevar con varias y extrañas doctrinas: porque es bueno que el corazón se establezca con la gracia. Pero no con los alimentos, que no han beneficiado a los que se han ocupado en ellas”.

2 Timoteo 2:15: “Estudia [la biblia] para mostrarte aprobado ante Dios: un obrero que no debe avergonzarse, dividiendo correctamente la Palabra de Verdad”.

¡Este texto enfatiza la necesidad de ser cimentado e instruido por la Palabra de Dios! Muchas personas están felices de ser guiadas y alimentadas por otra persona. No quieren pensar por sí mismos, porque sus vidas están ocupadas y rara vez, si es que alguna vez, leen la Biblia por sí mismos. No llevarán una Biblia a la iglesia; e incluso si lo hacen, no pueden encontrar ningún documento en particular en la Biblia, como Mateo o Apocalipsis.

¡Pero esto es muy peligroso, porque hay MUCHOS falsos profetas en el mundo! Amén. Basta con mirar los comentarios sobre mis estudios bíblicos en Facebook. Todos los días tengo que bloquear y eliminar falsos profetas o estafadores de un tipo u otro: hombres como Baba Yaga en África siempre están publicando sobre mis estudios, afirmando ofrecer curaciones y todo tipo de ayuda a cambio de dinero. ¡Estos falsos profetas son de Satanás! Evítalos a toda costa. Amén.

Además, ¡hay muchos falsos pastores y evangelistas! ¡Debes conocer bien la Biblia si tienes alguna esperanza de detectar a estos lobos con piel de cordero!

3) El creyente en Cristo debe ser separado del mundo hasta Jesucristo:

Hebreos 13:10-14: “Tenemos un altar, del cual no tienen derecho de comer los que sirven al Tabernáculo: porque los cuerpos de aquellos animales, cuya sangre es traída dentro el Santuario por el sumo sacerdote por el pecado, son quemados fuera del campamento. Por tanto, también Jesús, para que él pueda santificar a la gente con su propia sangre, padeció fuera de la puerta. Por lo tanto, salgamos hacia él fuera del campamento, llevando su reproche: porque aquí no tenemos ciudad permanente, sino buscamos uno venir”.

Eso no significa que debamos aislarnos de todo contacto con el mundo; no, estamos viviendo en el mundo pecaminoso; pero nosotros no somos del mundo pecador:

I Corintios 5:9-10: "Os he escrito por carta, no asociarse con fornicadores; aún ni completamente del todo con los fornicarios de este mundo, o con los avaros, o con los ladrones, o con los idólatras; pues entonces os sería necesario salir del mundo".

Juan 15:18-19: Jesus dijo, "Si el mundo os odia, sabéis que a mí me odió antes que a ustedes. Si ustedes fueran del mundo, el mundo amaría a su propio; sino porque ustedes no son del mundo, sino que yo he escogido ustedes fuera del mundo, por eso el mundo os odia".

¡Un cristiano impío no está correcto con Dios! Nadie es perfecto, para seguro; pero un creyente en Cristo nacido de nuevo debe estar siempre buscando ser cada día más como Cristo, porque este mundo no es amigo del Señor Jesucristo. El mundo no quiere que Cristo regrese, ni al mundo le importa la Biblia, la Palabra de Dios. Si estás tratando de ser amigo del mundo, entonces te has convertido en enemigo de Dios:

Jacobo 4:4: “Adúlteros y adúlteras, ¿no sabéis que la amistad del mundo del pecado es enemistad contra Dios? Por lo tanto, cualquiera que elija ser amigo del mundo del pecado se hace a sí mismo en un enemigo de Dios”.

“Este mundo no es mi hogar; solo estoy de paso!”

4) El creyente en Cristo no debe sentirse cómodo con este mundo.

Hebreos 13:14: “porque aquí no tenemos ciudad permanente, sino buscamos uno venir”.

¡Muchas iglesias que solían estar ardiendo por Dios, predicando el Evangelio en sus barrios y ciudades, ya no lo están haciendo! Se han vuelto cómodos con este mundo, y ya no son “sal” y “luz”. Se parecen más a clubes sociales que a reuniones de oración; pueden hablar de la Biblia, pero ellos ya no ganan almas; y la mayoría de los miembros de la iglesia son viejos. ¡Estas iglesias se están muriendo! Es solo cuestión de tiempo hasta que se venda la propiedad y se disuelva la iglesia. ¡Muy triste!

¡Esta no es la voluntad de Dios! Amén. La única manera de mantener abiertas las puertas de la iglesia es seguir visitando a tus vecinos e invitarlos a venir al Señor y ser salvados; porque aquí no tenemos ciudad permanente, sino que buscamos la por venir. Amén.

¡Salgamos a Jesús fuera del campamento de este mundo, llevando su reproche con alegría!

5) El creyente en Cristo debe estar dispuesto a compartir aquello con lo que Dios lo ha bendecido.

Hebreos 13:15-16: “Por él, pues, ofrezcamos el sacrificio de alabanza a Dios continuamente; es decir, el fruto de nuestros labios dando gracias a su Nombre. Pero de hacer el bien, y de compartir, no os olvidéis, porque con tales sacrificios Dios está muy complacido”.

Además de la separación del pecado a Cristo, el creyente no debe ser egoísta con su dinero. Ya sea que creas en el diezmo o no, Dios quiere que cada creyente esté dispuesto a donar parte de sus ingresos para apoyar a su iglesia; y para ayudar a otras causas, como el trabajo misionero en otras ciudades o países.

Dar dinero requiere un pastor honesto que ame a Dios primero y su propia situación financiera por último. Nadie debería darle a su pastor una gran limusina, un jet personal o una gran mansión para vivir. Si tu pastor siempre está pidiendo cosas como esta, ¡tu pastor es un falso profeta!

1 Timoteo 6:6-10: “Pero la piedad con contentamiento es gran ganancia: porque no trajimos nada a este mundo, y es seguro que no podemos llevar cualquier cosa fuera; y teniendo comida y ropa, contentémonos con estos. Pero los que quieren ser ricos caen en tentación y una trampa, y en muchas concupiscencias necias y dolorosas cual ahogan a los hombres en la destrucción y la perdición: porque el amor al dinero es la raíz de todo mal; mientras que algunos codiciados después de ello, se han alejado desde la fe, y traspasaron a sí mismos a través con muchos dolores”.

Si tu pastor es un verdadero hombre de Dios, y tu iglesia está enfocada en traer hombres, mujeres, niños y niñas a Jesucristo para que nazcan de nuevo a través de la predicación de la Obra terminada de Cristo para la expiación de sus pecados, entonces debes dar generosamente para ayudar a tu pastor y su iglesia a cumplir la Gran Comisión, porque esa es toda la misión de una verdadera iglesia bíblica.

Mateo 28:18-20: “Y Jesús vino y les habló, diciendo, “Toda autoridad me ha sido dado en el Cielo y sobre la tierra. Por tanto, id, y haced discípulos de todas las naciones, bautizándoles en el Nombre del Padre, y del Hijo, y del Espíritu Santo; enseñándoles observar todas las cosas que os he mandado. Y, he aquí, yo estoy con ustedes todos los días, hasta el fin de la Edad.” Amén”.

¡Mahoma y el Islam NO son el Camino a Dios! ¡María no es el Camino a Jesús ni al Cielo! ¡Ninguna iglesia, ningún bautismo y ninguna buena obra pueden salvarte!

Jesús dijo: “Yo soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida: nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí”. Juan 14:6.

El Corán (17:111) dice que Alá no tiene hijo. ¡La Biblia está de acuerdo, porque el único Dios verdadero de la Biblia tiene un Hijo, y su Nombre es el Señor Jesucristo! ¡Por lo tanto, “alá” no es Dios!

Aun los demonios saben que Jehová Elohim tiene un Hijo, y lo reconocieron en Jesucristo:

Marcos 3:11: “Y los espíritus inmundos, al verle, se postraban delante de él, y daban voces, diciendo, “¡Tú eres el Hijo de Dios!”

Los reformadores protestantes tenían 100% de razón sobre el Papa: ¡todos decían que él era un anticristo! ¡La religión católica es mucho peor hoy que en los días de los reformadores! ¡No hay salvación en ninguna iglesia y no hay esperanza en el Papa!

Si usted es musulmán, católico romano, hindú, bahai, ateo/agnóstico, o una persona que es miembro de una iglesia, pero tú confía en tu bautismo o en tus buenas obras para ser salvado, entonces eres un pecador ante Dios que pronto comparecerá ante Él en el Juicio; ¡después de lo cual te arrojará al lago de fuego por los siglos de los siglos!

¿Te das cuenta de que en el cielo: musulmanes, católicos romanos, hindúes, bahá’ís, sintoístas, ateos/agnósticos y falsos cristianos nunca podrán entrar en ese lugar sagrado? ¡Así es, amigo! Cualquiera que no sea un cristiano nacido de nuevo, nunca verá las glorias y maravillas del Cielo, porque estará en el Infierno hasta el juicio del Gran Trono Blanco; y después de eso, el Lago de Fuego, por los siglos de los siglos; ¡y nunca saldrás!

¡Que Dios te abra los ojos al peligro extremo en el que te encuentras ahora mismo! Si tu corazón dejara de latir por alguna razón, caerías instantáneamente en un lugar terrible Si tu corazón dejara de latir por alguna razón, ¡caerías instantáneamente en un lugar terrible que está lleno de azufre ardiente, fuego, y continuos lamentos, llantos, crujir de dientes y sufrimiento extremo por todos los que están en ese lugar! ¡Estás literalmente a solo un latido del corazón del infierno!

El único escape para ti de ese terrible lugar llamado Infierno es la Obra Terminada de Jesucristo en la cruz hace 2000 años. Jesús sufrió en la cruz por los pecados de toda la humanidad: pasados, presentes y futuros; y eso te incluía a ti ya mí, ¡gracias a Dios! Su sufrimiento es suficiente para que hagas las paces con Dios, quien está enojado contigo a causa de tus pecados.

Todo lo que debe hacer es creer en el Señor Jesucristo, que Él es el Hijo de Dios que vino a la Tierra para nacer de una virgen, vivió una vida perfecta y sin pecado durante 33 años, fue crucificado y sufrió un dolor inimaginable, para que no tengamos que sufrir en el Infierno, si hemos confiado en Él para salvarnos; y cuando murió, lo pusieron en un sepulcro por 3 días. ¡Después, Jesús resucitó de entre los muertos, victorioso sobre el pecado, la muerte, el infierno y la tumba! Amén.

También debes comprender y creer que eres un pecador; ¡y que tus pecados ayudaron a poner a Jesucristo en la cruz! ¡Así es, amigo! ¡Jesús murió POR TI, para que tengas Vida Eterna!

Juan 3:16: Jesús dijo, “Porque Dios amó tanto al mundo, que él dio a su Hijo unigénito, que cualquiera que cree en él no deberían perecer, sino tener Vida Eterna.”

¿Crees estas cosas? Entonces y solo entonces podrás pedir perdón, basado en tu fe en lo que Jesús hizo por ti en la cruz hace 2000 años. Es su OBRA TERMINADA (no podemos agregarle ni quitarle nada). Es un regalo de Dios que nos fue dado; ¡pero su Obra Terminada por nosotros no nos hará ningún bien A MENOS QUE LO ACEPTEMOS COMO NUESTRO SALVADOR PERSONAL!

Si crees en Jesús, pero no oras para recibir su regalo de salvación, ¡aún irás al infierno!

Romanos 10:13: “Porque está escrito, “Cualquiera que llamará sobre el Nombre del Señor será salvado.”

Así es como puede ser salvado, SI USTED CREE todo lo que acabo de explicar. Reza esta oración con todo tu corazón para recibir a Cristo como tu Salvador:

“Señor Jesús, sé que he pecado contra TI. ¡No soy bueno y tú eres justo! Creo que moriste en la cruz por mis pecados, fuiste enterrado y resucitaste de entre los muertos al tercer día. Quiero que vengas a mi vida y seas mi Señor y Salvador. Por favor entra en mi corazón ahora mismo. Perdóname por todos mis pecados y salva mi alma. En el poderoso Nombre de Jesús, oro, ¡Amén!”
