Preface: The Letter to the Hebrews was written to the Jews of the first century who had been saved under the Old Covenant using the system of animal sacrifices in the Temple of Herod and the priesthood of Aaron and his sons.

But now that Christ had already atoned for the sins of the world on the cross of Calvary in 33 A.D., those Jews needed to move from the Old Covenant of repeated animal sacrifices to the New Covenant of Christ, which was based only on his sacrifice on the cross, which was finished and completed, once for all time: never to be repeated. This is a very important point, from which I will make applications in this study.

This process of moving from the Old to the New Covenant was one of completion for these Jews. They were already the children of God by faith! But they were incomplete in their faith without Christ as the center of their faith: it was time for them to grow up and embrace Christ, or be judged by Jehovah for their disobedience.

This letter was not written for anyone outside of this group of people; either they became followers of Christ (we know that some of them did), or they continued under the Old Covenant and were punished with death in the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 A.D.

We can apply many spiritual lessons for Christians today; but the interpretation of this letter belongs only to the Jews of the first century. Any other interpretation will lead you into doctrinal errors.

The Golden Ratio design and outline of Hebrews, Chapter 1.5:

Hebrews, Chapter 1.5: Become completed Jews in Jesus Christ your Messiah (12:1 -13:25)

§Complement Introduction: Obey the will of Jehovah your God and embrace Jesus Christ as your Messiah (12:1 - 13)

¶Opposite Keep your eyes on Christ and follow his example of obedience to become a completed Jew (12:1 - 4)

¶Opposite Endure the discipline of your Heavenly Father to become a completed Jew (12:5 - 13)

§Complement Body: See that you do not refuse the will of your God, who is a consuming fire (12:14 - 13:17)

¶Unique Remember Esau who did not value his inheritance (12:14 - 17)

Opposite Let your conduct be without covetousness; and be content with such things as you have: for he has said, “I will never leave you, nor forsake you.” So that we may boldly say, “‘The Lord is my helper’; and ‘I will not fear what man can do to me.’”

Comments: Notice the Golden Ratio design on the sub-paragraph level: one unique, two complements, and two opposites. It is the opposite design of the fifth paragraph.

This part of the Letter to the Hebrews is very important, because it reveals the things that Messianic Jews (who believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Messiah) should be doing; and it also shows what they should NOT be doing.

If you missed the earlier studies in Chapter 1.1 - 1.4, this may not be as easy to follow; but here is a summary:

When the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried for 3 days and rose again from the dead, this event (the Finished Work of Christ) atoned for the sins of all mankind. It also fulfilled all of the types of Christ in the animal sacrifices in the Temple of Jehovah through the priesthood of Aaron.

And as I explained in the previous studies in Hebrews, the priesthood of Aaron was replaced completely by the Finished Work of Christ on the cross, and by the New Covenant priesthood of Christ, according to the order of Melchisedec.

In other words, the priesthood of Aaron does not exist under the New Covenant! Jesus Christ has fulfilled all of the types and shadows that the Old Covenant represented in the priesthood of Aaron and the animal sacrifices in the Tabernacle and Temple.

In the Bible, when the Old Covenant type is fulfilled by the New Covenant, you don’t need the type anymore.

Also, the Old Covenant system of animal sacrifices was central to almost everything that the nation of Israel did under the Old Covenant. Each one of the feasts of Israel had many animals that were sacrificed to Jehovah. All of these were supervised and executed by the priests of Aaron in the Tabernacle; and later, the Temple in Jerusalem.

Now if you remove the priesthood of Aaron and the system of animal sacrifices in the Temple, you also have to remove all of the Feasts of Israel: Passover¹, Unleavened Bread, Day of Atonement, Tabernacles (Booths), and so on. None of those Feasts of Israel can be celebrated anymore by any Jew if they are going to be Biblical². See the endnotes for more details.

The unbelieving Jews of today still celebrate these feasts, but they cannot do it according to the Law of Moses, because they have no Temple and no priests of Aaron. So their religion is false.

You cannot celebrate any of those Feasts as a Jew without the priesthood of Aaron. If you do, you have invented a new religion that is not found in the Bible! And that is a wicked thing in the sight of the Lord! Amen.

And in addition to the feasts of Israel, you also have to stop observing all of the laws under the Old Covenant that were specific to Israel: tithing of crops (because the tithes went into the Temple and were managed by the Levites: 2 Chronicles 31:4-19); dedication of lands and vows (because the priest of Aaron was required: Leviticus 26:46 - 27:34); cleansing of lepers, women who gave birth, and unclean issues of the flesh, because the priest of Aaron was required with animal sacrifices (Leviticus 12:1 - 15:33); and many others.

Any of the laws that were specific to the nation of Israel under the Old Covenant (which was centered on the priesthood of Aaron and animal sacrifices) were now obsolete for Jewish believers under the New Covenant. Naturally, this includes Gentiles who adopt the Jewish religion as well. So modern day cults such as the Worldwide Church of God (Herbert W. Armstrong) that claim to be descendants of the tribes of Israel are in great ERROR when they teach that we should be celebrating the feasts of Israel, worshiping on the Sabbath day, and following the laws of Moses. Seventh-Day Adventists are another group that teach these errors about the Law of Moses.

It is also important to note that the Sabbath day had special requirements under the Old Covenant:

1) It was restricted to the children of Israel (i.e. NOT for Gentiles):

“Exodus 31:16: “Therefore THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual Covenant.”

2) Two lambs were offered for a sacrifice on the Sabbath day. This required the priesthood of Aaron:

Numbers 28:9-10: “And on the Sabbath day you shall offer two lambs of the first year without spot; and two tenths of an ephah of flour for a meal offering, mingled with oil, and its drink offering. This is the burnt offering of every Sabbath, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.”

Well, now there is no priesthood of Aaron and there are no animal sacrifices under the New Covenant, so you cannot celebrate the Sabbath day without the priests of Aaron! Otherwise, you have created a new religion; and that is a wicked thing.

Do that make sense? You cannot say, “Well, I know that there are no priests of Aaron or animal sacrifices today; but we will worship on the Sabbath day anyway.” Then you are a liberal and not a Bible-believing Christian. You are in rebellion against the Word of God; and God will hold you responsible for your disobedience! Amen.

Joshua 1:8: “This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it: for only then shall you make your way prosperous, and only then shall you have good success.”

Samuel 15:22-23: “And Samuel said, “Does Jehovah have as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of Jehovah? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen is better than the fat of rams: for rebellion is like the sin of witchcraft; and stubbornness is like iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the Word of Jehovah, he has also rejected you from being king.”

These are not small errors! If your church is teaching you to follow the Laws of Moses, they are teaching a lie! Paul wrote an entire letter about this error (Galations), and we must understand it and avoid it!

Galatians 1:6-9: “I marvel that you so quickly removed yourselves from him that called you in the grace of Christ into a different gospel; which is a false gospel; but there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the true Gospel of Christ. But though we, or even an angel from Heaven, preach any gospel to you different from what we have already preached to you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so now I say again, if any man preaches any gospel to you different from what you have already received from us, let him be accursed.”

So, in light of the fact that most of the Law of Moses had become obsolete for Jews to observe, since there was no longer a priesthood of Aaron nor animal sacrifices, what was left for a Messianic Jew to observe as a Christian?

Leviticus 19:18: “You shall not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am Jehovah.”

Matthew 22:37-40: “Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love [Jehovah] your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind’: this is the first and great Commandment. And the second is similar: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two Commandments.”

The Moral Law, such as “Love your neighbor”.

Unique Let brotherly love continue; be not forgetful to host strangers: for thereby some have hosted angels unknowingly.

Complement Remember those who are in bound in chains, as bound with them;

Complement and remember those who suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

Also, two of the Ten Commandments:

Exodus 20:14: “You shall not commit adultery.”

Exodus 20:17: “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

These are summarized in Hebrews 13:4-6:

Opposite Marriage by all is honorable, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers, God will judge.

Does that mean it was okay to curse and blaspheme God’s Name (Exodus 20:7), because it was not listed here in Hebrews? No, of course not! The Apostle was merely highlighting the most important parts of the Law that still applied; but these few examples are parts of the moral law that still apply to Christians as well.

Ephesians 4:25-28: “Therefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another. Be angry, but sin not; let not the sun go down upon your wrath; neither give an opportunity to the devil. Let him that stole steal no longer; but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing that is good, so that he may have a gift to share with the one having need.”

Don’t tell lies, don’t steal; those are only two of the Ten Commandments that were restated for Christians under the New Covenant in the Letter to the Ephesians; and there are others.

The point is that some parts of the Law of Moses (the Moral Law) still apply for both Jews and Gentiles; but the parts that involve ceremonialism, animal sacrifice, and the priesthood of Aaron are obsolete for the New Covenant.

Anyone that tells you that you must worship only on Saturday, because it is the Sabbath, is misinformed at best and possibly a member of a cult at worst.

On the other hand, if you want to worship on Saturday, please feel free to do so! No problem. In fact, you can worship on any day of the week and that is fine with the Lord, did you know that? That’s right! Haven’t you heard of Wednesday or Thursday night prayer meeting? Or how about an entire week of evangelistic meetings or Bible preaching for the edification of the local church? Absolutely! Nothing wrong with that.

Christians do not worship (normally) on Saturday because it is not the Lord’s Day, or the day of the week when Jesus rose from the dead. We also do not do any animal sacrifices, which are required for the Sabbath under the Law, so it makes sense to honor the Lord Jesus Christ on the day of the week when He rose up from the dead, Amen.

The New Covenant is NEW, not Old! Amen. We are not going back to the types and shadows of Christ in the Sabbath or the ceremonial laws of Moses, because we have the fullness of Christ today.

Go ahead and worship on Saturday if you want to, but do not tell other believers that they are doing something wrong by worshiping on another day. That is against the Scriptures, because we are free to worship on any day or every day if we wish.

I also have to say that while the moral laws of Moses still apply to Christians, we are not saved and cannot be saved by observing the Law! I was saved when I realized that I was a sinner in the sight of God because the Law tells me that I am a sinner! Amen.

Then I looked to the Lord Jesus Christ, who died on the cross and paid for our sins almost 2,000 years ago. I understood that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life; and no one can come to the Father, except through Him (John 14:6).

I understood that I had to repent of my sins and ask Jesus Christ to come into my heart to save me, and I did that. So because I trusted in the Finished Work of Christ on the cross (including his atoning death, his burial, and his bodily resurrection) to save me, God forgave me of my sins, and made me into a child of God.

If I had followed the path of the Pharisee in this parable of Jesus, then I would go to Hell when I die, because my works are filthy in the sight of God, and cannot make me righteous in his eyes, no matter how many laws of Moses that I might follow.

Luke 18:10-14: “Two men went up into the Temple to pray: one a Pharisee, and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank you, that I am not as other men are: extortionists, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. I fast twice in the week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’ And the tax collector, standing far away, would not lift up so much as his eyes to Heaven; but he smote upon his breast, saying, ‘God be merciful to me a sinner.’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for everyone that exalts himself shall be humbled; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted.”

Born again Christians should observe the moral laws of Moses because they love the Lord Jesus Christ, but not as a means to go to Heaven! Because that won’t work.

Galatians 2:20-21: “I have been crucified together with Christ; nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness comes by observing the Law, then Christ died for nothing.”

Ephesians 2:8-9: “For by grace you have been permanently saved through faith; and that faith is not out of yourselves: it is the gift of God; not of our own works, lest any man should boast”

End notes:

1 - The Passover is a possible exception to this general rule, because Numbers 28:16 doesn’t mention the involvement of the priesthood or animal sacrifices in the celebration of the Passover; and Exodus 12:1-14 indicates that Passover is a family celebration.

On the other hand, Christ and his Apostles first celebrated the Passover with the sacrifice of a lamb; and then they celebrated the first Table of the Lord, or Communion (Matthew 26:17-29) with the eating of a shared loaf of bread. So those events seem to show that the Table of the Lord has replaced the Passover for the Jews in this Dispensation. This is especially significant since Matthew was written to the Jews.

Personally, I understand the desire of Messianic Jews to celebrate the Passover “to connect with their Jewishness”; but in my view, they should celebrate the Table of the Lord instead. I don’t believe it is scriptural to celebrate the Passover in this Dispensation. But since the Scriptures are not completely clear on this issue, I will leave this as an issue for the Messianic Jews to wrestle with according to their conscience.

2 - The Book of Ezekiel shows that animal sacrifices will be restored to the nation of Israel during the Dispensation of the Millennial Kingdom (Ezekiel 45:13-25). However, these sacrifices are for memorial purposes only.

Muhammad and Islam is NOT the Way to God! Mary is not the Way to Jesus or to Heaven! No church and no baptism and no good works can save you!

Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.” John 14:6.

The Quran (17:111) says that allah has no son. The Bible agrees, because the one true God of the Bible has a Son, and his Name is the Lord Jesus Christ! Therefore, “allah” is not God!

Even the devils know that Jehovah Elohim has a Son, and they recognized Him in Jesus Christ:

Mark 3:11: “And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him; and they cried, saying, “You are the Son of God!”

I John 2:22-23: “Who is the liar, if not he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is Antichrist: the one who denies the equality of the Father and the Son. Whosoever denies the Son, does not have the Father; but he that confesses the Son has the Father also.”

The Protestant Reformers were 100% right about the Pope: They all said he was an antichrist! The Catholic religion is much worse today than in the days of the reformers! There is no salvation in any church and there is no hope in the Pope!

If you are a Muslim, a Roman Catholic, a Hindu, a Bahai, an atheist/agnostic, or a person who is a church member, but you are trusting in your baptism or your good works to be saved, then you are a sinner before God who will soon stand before Him in Judgment; after which He will cast you into the Lake of Fire forever and ever and ever!

Do you realize that in Heaven: Muslims, Roman Catholics, Hindus, Bahais, Shintos, atheists/agnostics, and false Christians will never be allowed into that holy place? That’s right, friend! Anyone who is not a born again Christian will never see the glories and wonders of Heaven, because you will be in Hell until the Great White Throne judgment; and after that, the Lake of Fire, forever and ever; and you will never get out!

May God open your eyes to the extreme danger that you are in right now! If your heart would stop beating for any reason, you would instantly drop down into a terrible place that is full of burning sulphur, fire, and continuous wailing, crying, gnashing of teeth, and extreme suffering by all who are in that place! You are literally only a heartbeat away from Hell!

The only escape for you from that terrible place called Hell is the Finished Work of Jesus Christ on the cross 2,000 years ago. Jesus suffered on the cross for the sins of all mankind: past, present, and future; and that included you and me, thank God! His suffering is enough for you to make peace with God, who is angry with you because of your sins.

All you must do is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God who came to Earth to be born of a virgin, lived a sinless, perfect life for 33 years, was crucified and suffered unimaginable pain on our behalf so that we don’t have to suffer in Hell, if we have trusted Him to save us; and when He died, they placed Him in a tomb for 3 days. Afterward, Jesus arose from the dead, victorious over sin, death, Hell and the grave! Amen.

You must also understand and believe that you are a sinner; and that your sins helped to put Jesus Christ on the cross! That’s right, friend! Jesus died FOR YOU, so that you might have Everlasting Life!

John 3:16: Jesus said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have Everlasting Life.”

Do you believe these things? Then and only then can you ask for forgiveness, based on your faith in what Jesus did for you on the cross 2,000 years ago. It is his FINISHED WORK (we cannot add to it nor subtract anything from it). It is a gift from God that was given to us; but his Finished Work for us won’t do us any good UNLESS WE ACCEPT HIM AS OUR PERSONAL SAVIOR!

If you believe in Jesus, but do not pray to receive his gift of salvation, then you will still go to Hell!

Romans 10:13: “for it is written, “whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Here is how you can be saved, IF YOU BELIEVE everything that I just explained. Pray this prayer with all of your heart to receive Christ as your Savior:

“Lord Jesus, I know that I have sinned against YOU. I am no good, and you are righteous! You are my only hope for salvation! I believe that you died on the cross for my sins, you were buried, and you rose again from the dead on the third day. I want you to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart right now. Forgive me for all my sins, and save my soul. In the mighty Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen!”

Prefacio: La Carta a los Hebreos fue escrita a los judíos del primer siglo que se habían salvado bajo el Antiguo Pacto usando el sistema de sacrificios de animales en el Templo de Herodes y el sacerdocio de Aarón y sus hijos.

Pero ahora que Cristo ya había expiado los pecados del mundo en la cruz del Calvario en el año 30 d.C., esos judíos necesitaban pasar del Antiguo Pacto de repetidos sacrificios de animales al Nuevo Pacto de Cristo, que se basó únicamente en su sacrificio en la cruz, que fue consumado y completado, una vez para siempre: nunca se repetirá. Lo opuesto El matrimonio es honorable entre todos y el lecho sin mancilla; sino fornicarios y adúlteros, Dios juzgará.

Lo opuesto Dejéis que vuestra conducta sea sin codicia; y estad contenta con las cosas que tenéis: porque él ha dicho, “Nunca te dejaré ni te abandonaré”. Para que podamos decir con valentía, “‘[Jehová] es mi ayudador’; y, ‘No temeré lo que el hombre pueda hacerme’”.

Comentarios: Observe el diseño de la proporción áurea en el nivel del subpárrafo: uno único, dos complementarios y dos opuestos. Es el diseño opuesto del quinto párrafo.

Esta parte de la Carta a los Hebreos es muy importante, porque revela las cosas que deberían estar haciendo los judíos mesiánicos (quien cree en Jesucristo como su Salvador y Mesías); y también muestra lo que NO deberían estar haciendo.

Si se perdió los estudios anteriores en el Capítulo 1.1 - 1.4, es posible que este no sea tan fácil de seguir; pero aquí hay un resumen:

Cuando el Señor Jesucristo murió en la cruz, fue sepultado por 3 días y resucitó de entre los muertos, este evento (la Obra Terminada de Cristo) expió los pecados de toda la humanidad. Ello también cumplió todos los tipos de Cristo en los sacrificios de animales en el Templo de Jehová a través del sacerdocio de Aarón.

Y como expliqué en los estudios anteriores de Hebreos, el sacerdocio de Aarón fue reemplazado completamente por la Obra Terminada de Cristo en la cruz, y por el sacerdocio del Nuevo Pacto de Cristo, según el orden de Melquisedec.

En otras palabras, ¡el sacerdocio de Aarón no existe bajo el Nuevo Pacto! Jesucristo ha cumplido todos los tipos y sombras que representaba la Antigua Alianza en el sacerdocio de Aarón y los sacrificios de animales en el Tabernáculo y el Templo.

En la Biblia, cuando el tipo del Antiguo Pacto es cumplido por el Nuevo Pacto, ya no necesitas el tipo.

Además, el sistema del Antiguo Pacto de sacrificios de animales era fundamental para casi todo lo que la nación de Israel hacía bajo el Antiguo Pacto. Cada una de las fiestas de Israel tenía muchos animales que eran sacrificados a Jehová. Todos estos fueron supervisados y ejecutados por los sacerdotes de Aarón en el Tabernáculo; y más tarde, el Templo de Jerusalén.

Ahora bien, si quitas el sacerdocio de Aarón y el sistema de sacrificios de animales en el Templo, también tienes que quitar todas las Fiestas de Israel: Pascua¹, Panes sin Levadura, Día de Expiación, Tabernáculos (Cabinas), etc. Ninguna de esas Fiestas de Israel puede ser celebrada por ningún judío hoy si van a ser bíblicas². (Vea las notas finales para más detalles).

Los judíos incrédulos de hoy todavía celebran estas fiestas, pero no pueden hacerlo según la Ley de Moisés, porque no tienen Templo ni sacerdotes de Aarón. Entonces su religión es falsa.

No puedes celebrar ninguna de esas Fiestas como judío sin el sacerdocio de Aarón. ¡Si lo tú hagas, tú has inventado una nueva religión que no se encuentra en la Biblia! ¡Y eso es algo malo a los ojos del Señor! Amén.

Y además de las fiestas de Israel, tú también tienes que dejar de observar todas las leyes bajo el Antiguo Pacto que eran específicas de Israel: diezmo de las cosechas (porque los diezmos iban al templo y eran administrados por los levitas: 2 Crónicas 31:4-19); dedicación de tierras y votos (porque se requería el sacerdote de Aarón: Levítico 26:46 - 27:34); limpieza de leprosos, de mujeres que dieron a luz, y de flujos inmundos de la carne, porque el sacerdote de Aarón era requerido con sacrificios de animales (Levítico 12:1 - 15:33); y muchos otros.

Cualquiera de las leyes que eran específicas de la nación de Israel bajo el Antiguo Pacto (que se centraba en el sacerdocio de Aarón y los sacrificios de animales) ahora estaban obsoletas para los creyentes judíos bajo el Nuevo Pacto. Naturalmente, esto incluye a los gentiles que adoptan la religión judía también. Entonces, los cultos modernos como la Iglesia de Dios Universal (Herbert W. Armstrong) que afirman ser descendientes de las tribus de Israel están en un gran ERROR cuando enseñan que debemos celebrar las fiestas de Israel, adorar en el día de reposo y seguir las leyes de Moisés. Los Adventistas del Séptimo Día son otro grupo que enseña estos errores sobre la Ley de Moisés.

También es importante notar que el día de reposo tenía requisitos especiales bajo el Antiguo Pacto:

1) Estaba restringido a los hijos de Israel (i.e. NOT for Gentiles):

“Éxodo 31:16: “Guardarán, pues, el día de reposo LOS HIJOS DE ISRAEL, celebrándolo por sus generaciones, por pacto perpetuo”.

2) Se ofrecían dos corderos como sacrificio en el día de reposo. Esto requería el sacerdocio de Aarón:

Números 28:9-10: “Y en el día del Sábado dos corderos de un año sin defecto, y dos décimas de un efa de harina para ofrenda de cereal, amasada con aceite y su libación. Es el holocausto del Sábado en cada Sábado, además del holocausto continuo y su libación”.

Bueno, ahora no hay sacerdocio de Aarón y no hay sacrificios de animales bajos el Nuevo Pacto, ¡así que no puedes celebrar el día de reposo sin los sacerdotes de Aarón! De lo contrario, habrás creado una nueva religión; y eso es algo perverso.

¿Eso tiene sentido? No puedes decir: “Bueno, sé que hoy no hay sacerdotes de Aarón ni sacrificios de animales; pero de todos modos adoraremos en el día de reposo”. Entonces usted es un cristiano liberal y no un creyente de la Biblia. Estáis en rebelión contra la Palabra de Dios; ¡y Dios te hará responsable de por tu desobediencia! Amén.

Josué 1:8: “Este Libro de la Ley nunca se apartará de tu boca; sino meditaréis en ella día y noche, para que observéis hacer conforme a todo lo que está escrito en ella: porque sólo entonces harás que tu camino sea próspero, y sólo entonces tendréis buen éxito”.

Samuel 15:22-23: “Y Samuel dijo, “¿Tiene Jehová tanto contentamiento con los holocaustos y víctimas, como en obedecer a las palabras de Jehová? Ciertamente el obedecer es mejor que los sacrificios; y para prestar atención es mejor que la grosura de los carneros: porque la rebeldía es como el pecado de adivinación, y como iniquidad e idolatría la obstinación. Por cuanto tú desechaste la Palabra de Jehová, él también te ha desechado para que no seas rey”.

¡Estos no son pequeños errores! Si su iglesia le está enseñando a seguir las Leyes de Moisés, ¡están enseñando una mentira! Pablo escribió una carta entera sobre este error (Gálatas), ¡y debemos entenderlo y evitarlo!

Gálatas 1:6-9: “Maravillo de que ustedes se quitaron tan rápidamente desde él que os llamó en la gracia de Cristo en a un evangelio diferente; que es un falso evangelio; pero hay algunos que os molestan; y quieren pervertir el verdadero Evangelio de Cristo. Pero aunque nosotros, o incluso un ángel del Cielo, os predicamos un evangelio diferente desde lo que ya os hemos predicado, dejarlo ser anatema. Como dijimos antes, así ahora vuelvo a decir: si algún hombre te predica un evangelio diferente desde lo que ya has recibido de nosotros, dejarlo ser anatema”.

Entonces, a la luz del hecho de que la mayor parte de la Ley de Moisés se había vuelto obsoleta para que la observaran los judíos, ya que ya no había un sacerdocio de Aarón ni sacrificios de animales, ¿qué le quedaba por observar a un judío mesiánico como cristiano?

Levítico 19:18: “No te vengarás, ni guardarás rencor a los hijos de tu pueblo, sino que amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo; yo soy Jehová”.

Mateo 22:37-40: “Jesús le dijo, “‘Amarás a[Jehová] tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente’; éste es el primero y grande Mandamiento. Y el segundo es similar, ‘Amarás a tu prójimo como ti mismo’. Toda la Ley y los Profetas dependen en estos dos Mandamientos”.

La Ley Moral, como “Ama a tu prójimo”.

Único Deja que continúe el amor fraternal; no os olvidéis de hospedar a extraños: por de este modo algunos han alojado ángeles sin saberlo.

Éxodo 20:14: “No cometas adulterio.”

Éxodo 20:17: “No codicies la casa de tu prójimo, no codicies la esposa de tu prójimo, ni su siervo, ni su criada, ni su buey, ni su asno, ni cosa alguna de tu prójimo”.

Estos se resumen en Hebreos 13:4-6:

Lo opuesto El matrimonio es honorable entre todos y el lecho sin mancilla; sino fornicarios y adúlteros, Dios juzgará.

¿Significa eso que estaba bien maldecir y blasfemar el Nombre de Dios (Éxodo 20:7), porque no se menciona aquí en Hebreos? ¡No claro que no! El Apóstol simplemente estaba destacando las partes más importantes de la Ley que aún se aplicaban; pero estos pocos ejemplos son partes de la ley moral que también se aplican a los cristianos.

Efesios 4:25-28: “Por tanto, desechando la mentira, hablad verdad cada uno con su prójimo: porque somos miembros los unos de los otros. Enojaos, pero no pequéis; no se ponga el sol sobre tu ira; ni deis oportunidad al diablo. Deja que el que robó, no robe más; sino que trabaje, trabajando con las manos lo que es bueno, para que él pueda tener un don para compartir con el que tiene necesidad”.

No digas mentiras, no robes; esos son solo dos de los Diez Mandamientos que fueron reafirmados para los cristianos bajo el Nuevo Pacto en la Carta a los Efesios; y hay otros.

El punto es que algunas partes de la Ley de Moisés (la Ley Moral) todavía se aplican tanto a judíos como a gentiles; pero las partes que involucran ceremonialismo, sacrificio de animales y el sacerdocio de Aarón están obsoletas para el Nuevo Pacto.

Cualquiera que te diga que debe adorar solo el sábado, porque es el sábado, está mal informado en el mejor de los casos y posiblemente sea miembro de un culto en el peor.

Por otro lado, si desea adorar el sábado, ¡no dude en hacerlo! No problem. De hecho, puedes adorar cualquier día de la semana y eso está bien con el Señor, ¿lo sabías? ¡Así es! ¿Ni has oído hablar de la reunión de oración de los miércoles o jueves por la noche? ¿O qué tal una semana entera de reuniones de evangelización o predicación bíblica para la edificación de la iglesia local? ¡Absolutamente! Nada de malo con eso.

Los cristianos no adoran (normalmente) el sábado porque ni es el día del Señor, cual es el día de la semana cuando Jesús resucitó de entre los muertos. Tampoco hacemos sacrificios de animales, los cuales eran requeridos para el día de reposo bajo la Ley, por lo que tiene sentido honrar al Señor Jesucristo en el día de la semana cuando resucitó de entre los muertos. Amén.

¡El Nuevo Pacto es NUEVO, no Viejo! Amén. No estamos volviendo a los tipos y sombras de Cristo en el Sábado ni las leyes ceremoniales de Moisés, porque tenemos la plenitud de Cristo hoy.

Adelante, adora el sábado si quieres, pero no le digas a otros creyentes que están haciendo algo malo al adorar en otro día. Eso va en contra de las Escrituras, porque somos libres de adorar cualquier día o todos los días si así lo deseamos.

¡También tengo que decir que si bien las leyes morales de Moisés aún se aplican a los cristianos, no somos salvados y no podemos ser salvados al observar la Ley! ¡Yo estaba salvado cuando me di cuenta de que era un pecador a los ojos de Dios porque la Ley me dice que soy un pecador! Amén.

Luego miré al Señor Jesucristo, quien murió en la cruz y pagó por nuestros pecados hace casi 2000 años. comprendí que Jesucristo es el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida; y nadie puede venir al Padre, sino por El (Juan 14:6).

Entendí que tuve que arrepentirme de mis pecados y pedirle a Jesucristo que viniera a mi corazón para salvarme, y lo hice. Entonces, debido a que confié en la Obra terminada de Cristo en la cruz (incluida su muerte expiatoria, su sepultura y su resurrección corporal) para salvarme, Dios me perdonó mis pecados y me convirtió en un hijo de Dios.

Si hubiera seguido el camino del fariseo en esta parábola de Jesús, iría al infierno cuando muera, porque mis obras son sucias a los ojos de Dios, y no pueden hacerme justo a sus ojos, no importa cuántas leyes de Moisés pueda seguir.

Lucas 18:10-14: “Y dijo esta parábola a unos quien confiaban en sí mismos que eran justos, y despreciaron a otros: “Dos hombres subieron al templo para orar: uno un fariseo, y el otro, un recaudador de impuestos. El fariseo, de pie, rezó esto consigo mismo, ‘Dios, te doy gracias que no soy como lo son otros hombres: extorsionadores, injustos, adúlteros, o incluso como este recaudador de impuestos; ayuno dos veces a la semana; doy diezmos de todo lo que poseo’. Y el recaudador de impuestos, de pie muy lejos, no levantaría tanto como sus ojos al Cielo, sino él se estaba golpeando el pecho, diciendo, ‘Dios, sé propicio a mí, un pecador’. Os digo, que éste hombre descendió a su casa justificado en lugar de la otra: porque cualquiera que se enaltece, será humillado; y el que se humilla, será enaltecido”.

Los cristianos nacidos de nuevo deben observar las leyes morales de Moisés porque aman al Señor Jesucristo, ¡pero no como un medio para ir al Cielo! Porque eso no funcionará.

Gálatas 2:20-21: “He sido crucificado juntamente con Cristo; sin embargo, vivo; aún no yo, sino Cristo vive en mi; y lo que ahora vivo en la carne, lo vivo en la fe del Hijo de Dios, el cual me amó y se entregó a sí mismo por mí. No frustro la gracia de Dios: porque si la justicia viene por la observancia de la ley, entonces Cristo murió por nada”.

Efesios 2:8-9: “Porque por gracia habéis sido salvado permanentemente por medio de la fe, y esta fe no es desde ustedes; es don de Dios; no de nuestras propias obras, para que no nadie se jacte”.

Notas finales:

1 - La Pascua es una posible excepción a esta regla general, porque Números 28:16 ni menciona la participación del sacerdocio o los sacrificios de animales en la celebración de la Pascua; y Éxodo 12:1-14 indica que la Pascua es una celebración familiar.

Por otro lado, Cristo y sus Apóstoles primero celebraron la Pascua con el sacrificio de un cordero; y luego celebraron la primera Mesa del Señor, o Comunión (Mateo 26:17-29) comiendo una hogaza de pan compartida. Entonces esos eventos parecen mostrar que la Mesa del Señor ha reemplazado la Pascua para los judíos en esta Dispensación. Esto es especialmente significativo ya que Mateo fue escrito a los judíos.

Personalmente, entiendo el deseo de los judíos mesiánicos de celebrar la Pascua “para conectarse con su judaísmo”; pero en mi opinión, deberían celebrar la Mesa del Señor en su lugar. No creo que sea bíblico celebrar la Pascua en esta Dispensación. Pero dado que las Escrituras no son completamente claras en este tema, lo dejaré como un problema para que los judíos mesiánicos luchen según su conciencia.

2 - El Libro de Ezequiel muestra que los sacrificios de animales serán restaurados a la nación de Israel durante la Dispensación del Reino Milenario (Ezequiel 45:13-25). Sin embargo, estos sacrificios son solo para fines conmemorativos.

¡Mahoma y el Islam NO son el Camino a Dios! ¡María no es el Camino a Jesús ni al Cielo! ¡Ninguna iglesia, ningún bautismo y ninguna buena obra pueden salvarte!

Jesús dijo: “Yo soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida: nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí”. Juan 14:6.

El Corán (17:111) dice que Alá no tiene hijo. ¡La Biblia está de acuerdo, porque el único Dios verdadero de la Biblia tiene un Hijo, y su Nombre es el Señor Jesucristo! ¡Por lo tanto, “alá” no es Dios!

Aun los demonios saben que Jehová Elohim tiene un Hijo, y lo reconocieron en Jesucristo:

Marcos 3:11: “Y los espíritus inmundos, al verle, se postraban delante de él, y daban voces, diciendo, “¡Tú eres el Hijo de Dios!”

Los reformadores protestantes tenían 100% de razón sobre el Papa: ¡todos decían que él era un anticristo! ¡La religión católica es mucho peor hoy que en los días de los reformadores! ¡No hay salvación en ninguna iglesia y no hay esperanza en el Papa!

Si usted es musulmán, católico romano, hindú, bahai, ateo/agnóstico, o una persona que es miembro de una iglesia, pero tú confía en tu bautismo o en tus buenas obras para ser salvado, entonces eres un pecador ante Dios que pronto comparecerá ante Él en el Juicio; ¡después de lo cual te arrojará al lago de fuego por los siglos de los siglos!

¿Te das cuenta de que en el cielo: musulmanes, católicos romanos, hindúes, bahá’ís, sintoístas, ateos/agnósticos y falsos cristianos nunca podrán entrar en ese lugar sagrado? ¡Así es, amigo! Cualquiera que no sea un cristiano nacido de nuevo, nunca verá las glorias y maravillas del Cielo, porque estará en el Infierno hasta el juicio del Gran Trono Blanco; y después de eso, el Lago de Fuego, por los siglos de los siglos; ¡y nunca saldrás!

¡Que Dios te abra los ojos al peligro extremo en el que te encuentras ahora mismo! Si tu corazón dejara de latir por alguna razón, caerías instantáneamente en un lugar terrible Si tu corazón dejara de latir por alguna razón, ¡caerías instantáneamente en un lugar terrible que está lleno de azufre ardiente, fuego, y continuos lamentos, llantos, crujir de dientes y sufrimiento extremo por todos los que están en ese lugar! ¡Estás literalmente a solo un latido del corazón del infierno!

El único escape para ti de ese terrible lugar llamado Infierno es la Obra Terminada de Jesucristo en la cruz hace 2000 años. Jesús sufrió en la cruz por los pecados de toda la humanidad: pasados, presentes y futuros; y eso te incluía a ti ya mí, ¡gracias a Dios! Su sufrimiento es suficiente para que hagas las paces con Dios, quien está enojado contigo a causa de tus pecados.

Todo lo que debe hacer es creer en el Señor Jesucristo, que Él es el Hijo de Dios que vino a la Tierra para nacer de una virgen, vivió una vida perfecta y sin pecado durante 33 años, fue crucificado y sufrió un dolor inimaginable, para que no tengamos que sufrir en el Infierno, si hemos confiado en Él para salvarnos; y cuando murió, lo pusieron en un sepulcro por 3 días. ¡Después, Jesús resucitó de entre los muertos, victorioso sobre el pecado, la muerte, el infierno y la tumba! Amén.

También debes comprender y creer que eres un pecador; ¡y que tus pecados ayudaron a poner a Jesucristo en la cruz! ¡Así es, amigo! ¡Jesús murió POR TI, para que tengas Vida Eterna!

Juan 3:16: Jesús dijo, “Porque Dios amó tanto al mundo, que él dio a su Hijo unigénito, que cualquiera que cree en él no deberían perecer, sino tener Vida Eterna.”

¿Crees estas cosas? Entonces y solo entonces podrás pedir perdón, basado en tu fe en lo que Jesús hizo por ti en la cruz hace 2000 años. Es su OBRA TERMINADA (no podemos agregarle ni quitarle nada). Es un regalo de Dios que nos fue dado; ¡pero su Obra Terminada por nosotros no nos hará ningún bien A MENOS QUE LO ACEPTEMOS COMO NUESTRO SALVADOR PERSONAL!

Si crees en Jesús, pero no oras para recibir su regalo de salvación, ¡aún irás al infierno!

Romanos 10:13: “Porque está escrito, “Cualquiera que llamará sobre el Nombre del Señor será salvado.”

Así es como puede ser salvado, SI USTED CREE todo lo que acabo de explicar. Reza esta oración con todo tu corazón para recibir a Cristo como tu Salvador:

“Señor Jesús, sé que he pecado contra TI. ¡No soy bueno y tú eres justo! Creo que moriste en la cruz por mis pecados, fuiste enterrado y resucitaste de entre los muertos al tercer día. Quiero que vengas a mi vida y seas mi Señor y Salvador. Por favor entra en mi corazón ahora mismo. Perdóname por todos mis pecados y salva mi alma. En el poderoso Nombre de Jesús, oro, ¡Amén!”
