Preface: The Letter to the Hebrews was written to the Jews of the first century who had been saved under the Old Covenant using the system of animal sacrifices in the Temple of Herod and the priesthood of Aaron and his sons.

But now that Christ had already atoned for the sins of the world on the cross of Calvary in 33 A.D., those Jews needed to move from the Old Covenant of repeated animal sacrifices to the New Covenant of Christ, which was based only on his sacrifice on the cross, which was finished and completed, once for all time: never to be repeated. This is a very important point, from which I will make applications in this study.

This process of moving from the Old to the New Covenant was one of completion for these Jews. They were already the children of God by faith! But they were incomplete in their faith without Christ as the center of their faith: it was time for them to grow up and embrace Christ, or be judged by Jehovah for their disobedience.

This letter was not written for anyone outside of this group of people; either they became followers of Christ (we know that some of them did), or they continued under the Old Covenant and were punished with death in the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 A.D.

We can apply many spiritual lessons for Christians today; but the interpretation of this letter belongs only to the Jews of the first century. Any other interpretation will lead you into doctrinal errors.

The Golden Ratio design and outline of Hebrews, Chapter 1.5:

Hebrews, Chapter 1.5: Become completed Jews in Jesus Christ your Messiah (12:1 -13:25)

§Complement Introduction: Obey the will of Jehovah your God and embrace Jesus Christ as your Messiah (12:1 - 13)

¶Opposite Keep your eyes on Christ and follow his example of obedience to become a completed Jew (12:1 - 4)

¶Opposite Endure the discipline of your Heavenly Father to become a completed Jew (12:5 - 13)

§Complement Body: See that you do not refuse the will of your God, who is a consuming fire (12:14 - 13:17)

¶Unique Remember Esau who did not value his inheritance (12:14 - 17)

Comments: In this study, we will cover the first three paragraphs of the Body Section.

First of all, notice the Golden Ratio design of this section, which is one unique, two complements, and two opposites.

There is a logical break between the third and fourth paragraph, because the content changes dramatically.

In the first three paragraphs, Paul gives three warnings to these Jews who had been saved under the Old Covenant, but had not yet embraced Christ:

¶Unique Remember Esau who did not value his inheritance (12:14 - 17)

¶Complement The Law of Moses caused fear; but the blood of Jesus brings eternal peace with God (12:18 - 24)

¶Complement Do not refuse Him that speaks from Heaven, for He is a consuming fire (12:25 - 29)

In the last two paragraphs of the Body section, Paul addresses those Jews who have embraced Christ as their Messiah and are now Messianic Jews.

¶Opposite Continue to observe the moral Laws of Moses (13:1 - 6)

¶Opposite Separate yourselves from the world unto Christ (13:7 - 17)

§Complement Body: See that you do not refuse the will of your God, who is a consuming fire (12:14 - 13:17)

Opposite Follow peace with all men; and holiness, without which, no man shall see the Lord.

Opposite Looking diligently, lest anyone falls short of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up troubles you, and by it many are defiled.

Complement Lest there be any fornicator, or godless person: such as Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright:

Complement for you know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected:

Unique for he found no change of mind in his father, though he sought it earnestly with tears.

Comments: The first warning was a reminder to these Jews that Esau was a son of Isaac, along with his twin brother Jacob. However, being a son of Isaac was not enough to receive the blessing, because Esau sold his right as the firstborn son to his brother Jacob for a bowl of lentile soup and bread to satisfy his flesh. Therefore, Jacob was within his right to receive the blessing of the Messiah from his father Isaac, even though he did it by deceiving his father (which was wrong) (Genesis 25:27-34).

Esau was a godless man who despised his godly inheritance from his father Isaac; and when he realized that Jacob had received his godly inheritance, he wept and cried to his father, hoping to get it anyway; but Isaac rejected his request, and gave him a blessing that was not a good one, but it was the only one left.

Genesis 27:38-40: “And Esau said to his father, “Have you but one blessing, my father? Bless me, even me also, O my father!” And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept. And Isaac his father answered and said to him, “Behold, your dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above. And you shall live by your sword, and shall serve your brother; and it shall come to pass when you shall have the dominion, that you shall break his yoke from off your neck.”

The lesson for these Jews: like Esau (who was a son), they also could lose their inheritance in Christ if they refused to embrace Jesus as their Messiah. They had been saved under the Old Covenant, and they went to Heaven when they died; however, their rewards in Heaven would be forfeited if they refused to embrace Christ as their Messiah.

Like Esau (whose nation of descendants were eventually destroyed, and God promised to eliminate them from the Earth entirely - Obadiah 1:18), these Jews were facing the choice of utter destruction at the hand of the Romans or embrace Christ as their Messiah.

Christ was the inheritance of these Jews of the first century, because Israel would be scattered among the nations after Rome attacked Jerusalem in 70 A.D., and the Jews would even be banned from Jerusalem for some number of years. There was no other choice for them.

Some applications for believers today are found in the first two subparagraphs:

Opposite Follow peace with all men; and holiness, without which, no man shall see the Lord.

It is the will of God for every believer to be a peaceful person who loves holiness and righteousness! If you see someone who always seems to be ready to start a fight or argue with others over trivial things, that is not the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-26).

And if we do not manifest holiness in our lives, then the Bible says that we shall not see the Lord. In other words, I believe that this refers to what I mentioned in previous studies, that a true born again Christian will manifest holiness in his or her life as they grow up and mature in Jesus Christ. A lost person cannot do this; therefore, they shall not see the Lord as their Lord; but rather as the Judge of their sins.

A sinner will never see the glory of God in the same way as a believer, because they will only see Jesus on the Great White Throne as their judge. But every believer will see Jesus as He really is!

Revelation 21:22-24: “And I saw no Temple in it: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its Temple. And the city had no need of the sun; neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God illuminated it, and the Lamb is its light; and the nations of them that are saved shall walk in its light; and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it.”

Opposite Looking diligently, lest anyone falls short of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up troubles you, and by it many are defiled.

We as believers must be very careful that we do not allow a root of bitterness and resentment to grow in our lives, because it will destroy our effectiveness for God in his service.

A root of bitterness will often grow from experiences such as having a bad experience from other Christians or the death of a loved one or the loss of a job, which can lead to anger against God and Christians in general; which then leads to withdrawal from church and association from other believers; and then a descent into sin and darkness will follow, unless the believer strongly repents of their unforgiveness and resentment, and then they trust in the Lord to deliver them from this bitterness.

Matthew 6:14-15: “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses; neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

This can happen to anyone: Christian leaders or everyday Christians. So every one of us must be on guard to protect ourselves from this tool of Satan that he often uses to destroy Christians. We must have a heart of forgiveness toward those that have done us wrong, no matter who it is: husband, wife, children, co-worker, boss, or even our internet company when they give us bad service for the money we paid them.

Have you forgiven EVERYONE or are you still holding a grudge? It is like poision in your soul, and you know it! Get right with the Lord about this matter right now! Otherwise, God will stop listening to your prayers, and you will be miserable until you forgive them. Amen.

¶Complement The Law of Moses caused fear; but the blood of Jesus brings eternal peace with God (12:18 - 24)

Unique For you have not come to the mountain that might be touched, and that burned with fire; nor to blackness, and darkness, and tempest, and the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of the words of God;

Complement which they that heard it begged that the Word would not be spoken to them anymore: for they could not endure that which was commanded: “And if so much as a beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a javelin.”

Complement And so terrible was the sight, Moses said, “I exceedingly fear and tremble.”

Opposite But you have come to mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem; and to an innumerable company of angels, to the festive gathering and Assembly of the firstborn, who are written in Heaven; and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous ones made perfect;

Opposite and to Jesus the Mediator of the New Covenant; and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaks better things than the animal sacrifice of Abel.

Comments:

Exodus 19:16-19: “And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there was thunder and lightning, and a thick cloud upon the mountain, and the sound of the trumpet was extremely loud, so that all the people that were in the camp trembled. And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the lower part of the mountain. And mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because Jehovah descended upon it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain shook greatly. And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice.”

The second warning of Paul to these Jews of the first century was a comparison between the dreadful sights and sounds of Jehovah God descending upon Mount Sinai in thunder, smoke, and fire; and the beautiful sight of the heavenly Jerusalem, with shouts of praise and joy of countless angels and children of God gathered together to worship and praise the King of kings and the Lord of lords. What a sight that will be! Amen.

The former was the scene when Jehovah God gave the Ten Commandments and the Law to Moses on Mount Sinai. The people of Israel were terrified at the sight of the great fire and smoke of God and the loud trumpet of God announcing his arrival:

Exodus 20:18-19: “And all the people saw the thundering, and the lightning, and the noise of the trumpet, and the smoking mountain; and when the people saw it, they moved, and stood far away. And they said to Moses, “You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.”

And Moses himself was filled with fear:

And so terrible was the sight, Moses said, “I exceedingly fear and tremble.”

The Law of God under the Old Covenant came with promises of Judgment and death for failure to obey it. Here is one example of many:

Exodus 31:14-15: “Therefore you shall keep the Sabbath: for it is holy to you; every one that defiles it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever does any work in it, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days may work be done, but in the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to Jehovah. Whosoever does any work in the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.”

The Law of Moses cannot justify anyone or make anyone righteous in the sight of God: it can only condemn you, because you and I cannot keep it completely! It is absolutely impossible for sinners like us to keep the Law.

Romans 3:19-20: “And we know that whatsoever things the Law says, it says to them who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be shut, and all the world may become guilty before God; therefore, by the works of the Law, no flesh shall be justified in his sight: for by the Law is the knowledge of sin.”

The Lord Jesus Christ was the only person in human history who was able to keep the Law of Moses without sin of any kind, because Jesus is God Almighty in the flesh; and He could not sin at all.

1 Peter 2:21-24: “For even unto this were you called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow his steps; who did not sin; neither was guile found in his mouth; who, when he was reviled, reviled not in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but committed himself to him that judges righteously; who his own self carried our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.”

On the other hand, under the New Covenant, there is peace with God and joy in the Holy Spirit for all who have repented of their sins and accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior:

Hebrews 12:22-24: “But you have come to mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem; and to an innumerable company of angels, to the festive gathering and Assembly of the firstborn, who are written in Heaven; and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous ones made perfect; and to Jesus the Mediator of the New Covenant; and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaks better things than the animal sacrifice of Abel.”

So where would you rather be? Facing the dreadful wrath of Almighty Jehovah God, or enjoying his blessing and his peace? This was the choice facing these Jews of the first century: face the wrath of the Law of God or become complete Jews with Jesus Christ as their Messiah and Lord.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the Way to the heavenly Jerusalem, with glories and happiness that cannot be measured! If you refuse Him, then the only alternative is the Judgment of God for your sins!

Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.” John 14:6.

Application: Some call this Assembly of the Firstborn “the church in prospect” (which is not a bad term). But the term “church” is problematic, because it is like an empty vessel that can be filled with a variety of meanings from a group of believers in one place on Earth all the way to all believers in all places that some call “the Universal Church”, which is false. There is no such entity in the Bible, although many talk about it as if it is true.

I prefer the term “Assembly”, which is a word for word translation from the Greek word “Ecclesia”. It is much more scriptural and correct; and it helps to eliminate bad teachings about the doctrine of the Assembly. I cannot go into detail here, as it requires much discussion. But I will cover it more as we move through the letters of the Apostles, especially 1 Corinthians and Ephesians.

¶Complement Do not refuse Him that speaks from Heaven, for He is a consuming fire (12:25 - 29)

Unique See that you do not refuse him that speaks: for if they did not escape who refused him that spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape, if we turn away from him that speaks from Heaven.

Complement Whose voice then shook the earth;

Complement but now he has promised, saying, “Yet once more, I will shake not the earth only, but also Heaven.”

Opposite And this word, “Yet once more,” signifying the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

Opposite Therefore, we receiving a Kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us utilize grace, by which we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and godly fear: for our God is a consuming fire!

Comments: The third and final warning of Paul to these first century Jews is explicit:

Unique See that you do not refuse him that speaks: for if they did not escape who refused him that spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape, if we turn away from him that speaks from Heaven.

In other words, there will be no escape from the wrath of God [in 70 A.D.] if you refuse to embrace Christ as your Messiah.

Opposite And this word, “Yet once more,” signifying the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

Opposite Therefore, we receiving a Kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us utilize grace, by which we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and godly fear: for our God is a consuming fire!

The Kingdom of God cannot be shaken or destroyed!

Daniel 2:44: “And in the days of these kings shall the God of Heaven set up a Kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the Kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.”

Opposite Therefore, we receiving a Kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us utilize grace, by which we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and godly fear: for our God is a consuming fire!

Daniel 7:9-10: “I beheld until the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days sat, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool. His throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels like burning fire. A flood of fire issued and came forth from before him; many thousands ministered to him, and countless millions stood before him; the Judgment was set, and the Books were opened.”

Many foolish people assume that God is like Santa Claus, who winks at our “naughtiness” and gives us coal in our stockings if we are “bad”, and presents if we are good. Everyone goes to Heaven except Hitler, according to this thinking.

But the God of the Bible is nothing of the sort! God is a God of Holiness and Righteousness!

And God will not allow a single sin into Heaven! Not even “a little white lie”.

Revelation 21:6-8: “And he said to me, “It is finished; I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give to him that is thirsty of the fountain of the water of Life freely. He that overcomes shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and witches, and idolaters, and ALL LIARS, shall have their part in the Lake burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

Muhammad and Islam is NOT the Way to God! Mary is not the Way to Jesus or to Heaven! No church and no baptism and no good works can save you!

Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.” John 14:6.

The Quran (17:111) says that allah has no son. The Bible agrees, because the one true God of the Bible has a Son, and his Name is the Lord Jesus Christ! Therefore, “allah” is not God!

Even the devils know that Jehovah Elohim has a Son, and they recognized Him in Jesus Christ:

Mark 3:11: “And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him; and they cried, saying, “You are the Son of God!”

I John 2:22-23: “Who is the liar, if not he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is Antichrist: the one who denies the equality of the Father and the Son. Whosoever denies the Son, does not have the Father; but he that confesses the Son has the Father also.”

The Protestant Reformers were 100% right about the Pope: They all said he was an antichrist! The Catholic religion is much worse today than in the days of the reformers! There is no salvation in any church and there is no hope in the Pope!

If you are a Muslim, a Roman Catholic, a Hindu, a Bahai, an atheist/agnostic, or a person who is a church member, but you are trusting in your baptism or your good works to be saved, then you are a sinner before God who will soon stand before Him in Judgment; after which He will cast you into the Lake of Fire forever and ever and ever!

Do you realize that in Heaven: Muslims, Roman Catholics, Hindus, Bahais, Shintos, atheists/agnostics, and false Christians will never be allowed into that holy place? That’s right, friend! Anyone who is not a born again Christian will never see the glories and wonders of Heaven, because you will be in Hell until the Great White Throne judgment; and after that, the Lake of Fire, forever and ever; and you will never get out!

May God open your eyes to the extreme danger that you are in right now! If your heart would stop beating for any reason, you would instantly drop down into a terrible place that is full of burning sulphur, fire, and continuous wailing, crying, gnashing of teeth, and extreme suffering by all who are in that place! You are literally only a heartbeat away from Hell!

The only escape for you from that terrible place called Hell is the Finished Work of Jesus Christ on the cross 2,000 years ago. Jesus suffered on the cross for the sins of all mankind: past, present, and future; and that included you and me, thank God! His suffering is enough for you to make peace with God, who is angry with you because of your sins.

All you must do is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God who came to Earth to be born of a virgin, lived a sinless, perfect life for 33 years, was crucified and suffered unimaginable pain on our behalf so that we don’t have to suffer in Hell, if we have trusted Him to save us; and when He died, they placed Him in a tomb for 3 days. Afterward, Jesus arose from the dead, victorious over sin, death, Hell and the grave! Amen.

You must also understand and believe that you are a sinner; and that your sins helped to put Jesus Christ on the cross! That’s right, friend! Jesus died FOR YOU, so that you might have Everlasting Life!

John 3:16: Jesus said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have Everlasting Life.”

Do you believe these things? Then and only then can you ask for forgiveness, based on your faith in what Jesus did for you on the cross 2,000 years ago. It is his FINISHED WORK (we cannot add to it nor subtract anything from it). It is a gift from God that was given to us; but his Finished Work for us won’t do us any good UNLESS WE ACCEPT HIM AS OUR PERSONAL SAVIOR!

If you believe in Jesus, but do not pray to receive his gift of salvation, then you will still go to Hell!

Romans 10:13: “for it is written, “whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Here is how you can be saved, IF YOU BELIEVE everything that I just explained. Pray this prayer with all of your heart to receive Christ as your Savior:

“Lord Jesus, I know that I have sinned against YOU. I am no good, and you are righteous! You are my only hope for salvation! I believe that you died on the cross for my sins, you were buried, and you rose again from the dead on the third day. I want you to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart right now. Forgive me for all my sins, and save my soul. In the mighty Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen!”

Prefacio: La Carta a los Hebreos fue escrita a los judíos del primer siglo que se habían salvado bajo el Antiguo Pacto usando el sistema de sacrificios de animales en el Templo de Herodes y el sacerdocio de Aarón y sus hijos.

Comentarios: En este estudio, cubriremos los primeros tres párrafos de la Sección del Cuerpo.

En primer lugar, observe el diseño de la proporción áurea de esta sección, que es uno único, dos complementarios y dos opuestos.

Hay una ruptura lógica entre el tercer y el cuarto párrafo, porque el contenido cambia drásticamente.

En los primeros tres párrafos, Pablo da tres advertencias a estos judíos que habían sido salvos bajo el Antiguo Pacto, pero que aún no habían abrazado a Cristo:

El complemento Para que ni ninguno sea fornicador o persona irreligioso: como Esaú, quien por un bocado de comida vendió su primogenitura:

El complemento porque sabéis que después, cuando él habría heredado la bendición, fue rechazado:

Único porque no encontró ningún cambio de opinión en su padre, aunque él lo buscó fervientemente con lágrimas.

Comentarios: La primera advertencia fue un recordatorio para estos judíos de que Esaú era hijo de Isaac, junto con su hermano gemelo Jacob. Sin embargo, ser hijo de Isaac no era suficiente para recibir la bendición, porque Esaú vendió su derecho como hijo primogénito a su hermano Jacob por un plato de sopa de lentejas y pan para satisfacer su carne. Por lo tanto, Jacob estaba en su derecho de recibir la bendición del Mesías de manos de su padre Isaac, aunque lo hizo engañando a su padre (lo cual estuvo mal) (Génesis 25:27-34).

Esaú era un hombre impío que despreció la herencia piadosa de su padre Isaac; y cuando se dio cuenta de que Jacob había recibido su herencia piadosa, lloró y clamó a su padre, esperando recibirla de todos modos; pero Isaac rechazó su pedido, y le dio una bendición que no era buena, pero era la única que quedaba.

Génesis 27:38-40: “Y Esaú dijo a su padre: “¿Tienes una sola bendición, padre mío? ¡Bendíceme también a mí, oh padre mío!” Y Esaú alzó su voz y lloró. E Isaac su padre respondió y le dijo, “He aquí, vuestra morada será de la gordura de la tierra, y del rocío de los cielos de lo alto. Y por tu espada vivirás, y servirás a tu hermano; y acontecerá que cuando domines, romperás su yugo desde tu cuello.”

La lección para estos judíos: como Esaú (que era un hijo), también podrían perder su herencia en Cristo si se negaban a aceptar a Jesús como su Mesías. Ellos habían sido salvados bajos el Antiguo Pacto, y fueron al Cielo cuando murieron; sin embargo, sus recompensas en el Cielo se perderían si se negaban a aceptar a Cristo como su Mesías.

Como Esaú (cuya nación de descendientes finalmente fue destruida, y Dios prometió eliminarlos de la Tierra por completo - Obadiah 1:18), estos judíos se enfrentaban a la elección de la destrucción total a manos de los romanos o abrazar a Cristo como su Mesías.

Cristo fue la herencia de estos judíos del primer siglo, porque Israel sería esparcido entre las naciones después de que Roma atacara a Jerusalén en el año 70 d.C., y los judíos incluso serían expulsados de Jerusalén durante algunos años. No había otra opción para ellos.

Algunas aplicaciones para los creyentes de hoy se encuentran en los dos primeros subpárrafos:

Lo opuesto Seguid la paz con todos; y la santidad, sin la cual nadie verá al Señor.

¡Es la voluntad de Dios que cada creyente sea una persona pacífica que ama la santidad y la justicia! Si ves a alguien que siempre parece estar listo para comenzar una pelea o discutir con otros por cosas triviales, ese no es el fruto del Espíritu Santo (Gálatas 5:22-26).

Y si no manifestamos santidad en nuestra vida, entonces la Biblia dice que no veremos al Señor. En otras palabras, creo que esto se refiere a lo que mencioné en estudios anteriores, que un verdadero cristiano nacido de nuevo manifestará santidad en su vida a medida que crezca y madure en Jesucristo. Una persona perdida no puede hacer esto; por tanto, no verán al Señor como su Señor; sino más bien como el Juez de sus pecados.

Un pecador nunca verá la gloria de Dios de la misma manera que un creyente, porque solo verá a Jesús en el Gran Trono Blanco como su juez. ¡Pero cada creyente verá a Jesús como realmente es!

La revelación 21:22-24: “Y no vi Templo en ella: porque el Señor Dios Todopoderoso y el Cordero son el Templo de ella. Y la ciudad no tenía necesidad de sol ni de luna para que resplandezcan en ella: porque la gloria de Dios la iluminaba, y el Cordero es su luz. Y las naciones de los que hubieren sido salvados andarán en la luz de ella; y los reyes de la tierra traerán su gloria y honor a ella”.

Lo opuesto Mirando atentamente, para que no que alguien se quede corto de la gracia de Dios; para que no que alguna raiz de amargura surgiendo molesta ustedes, y por esto, muchos están contaminadas.

Nosotros como creyentes debemos tener mucho cuidado de no permitir que una raíz de amargura y resentimiento crezca en nuestras vidas, porque destruirá nuestra eficacia para Dios en su servicio.

Una raíz de amargura a menudo crecerá desde experiencias como tener una mala experiencia desde otros cristianos o la muerte de un ser querido o la pérdida de un trabajo, cual puede llevar a la ira contra Dios y los cristianos en general; lo que luego conduce al retiro de la iglesia y la asociación con otros creyentes; y luego seguirá un descenso al pecado y la oscuridad, a menos que el creyente se arrepienta fuertemente de su falta de perdón y resentimiento, y luego confíe en el Señor para librarlo de esta amargura.

Mateo 6:14-15: “Porque si perdonáis a los hombres sus ofensas, vuestro Padre celestial también os perdonará a ustedes. Pero si no perdonáis a los hombres sus ofensas, tampoco vuestro Padre os perdonará vuestras ofensas”.

Esto le puede pasar a cualquiera: líderes cristianos o cristianos comunes. Entonces, cada uno de nosotros debe estar en guardia para protegerse de esta herramienta de Satanás que a menudo usa para destruir a los cristianos. Debemos tener un corazón de perdón hacia aquellos que nos han hecho mal, no importa quién sea: esposo, esposa, hijos, compañero de trabajo, jefe o incluso nuestra empresa de internet cuando nos dan un mal servicio por el dinero que les pagamos. .

¿Has perdonado a TODOS o sigues guardando rencor? Es como veneno en tu alma, ¡y lo sabes! ¡Póngase bien con el Señor acerca de este asunto ahora mismo! De lo contrario, Dios dejará de escuchar tus oraciones y serás miserable hasta que las perdones. Amén.

¶El complemento La Ley de Moisés causaba miedo; pero la sangre de Jesús trae la paz eterna con Dios (12:18 - 24)

Único Porque ustedes no habéis venido a la montaña que se podía tocar, y que ardía con fuego; ni a la negrura, a la oscuridad y a la tempestad, y el sonido de una trompeta, y la voz de las palabras de Dios;

El complemento cual los que la oyeron rogaron que la Palabra no se les hablara más: porque ellos no pudieron soportar lo que se les había mandado, “Y si tanto como una bestia toca el monte, será apedreada o traspasada con jabalina.”

El complemento Y tan terrible era el espectáculo, que Moisés dijo: “Yo temo y tiemblo sobremanera.”

Lo opuesto Pero os habéis acercado al monte de Sión, y a la ciudad del Dios vivo, la Jerusalén celestial; y a una compañía innumerable de ángeles, a la congregación general e Asamblea de los primogénitos que están inscritos en el Cielo; y a Dios el Juez de todos, y a los espíritus de los justos hechos perfectos;

Lo opuesto y a Jesús el Mediador del Nuevo Pacto, y a la sangre del rociamiento que habla mejor cosas que el sacrificio de animal de Abel.

Comments:

El Éxodo 19:16-19: “Y aconteció que al tercer día por la mañana, hubo truenos y relámpagos, y una nube espesa sobre el monte; y el sonido de la trompeta fue muy fuerte, de modo que todo el pueblo que estaba en el campamento se estremeció. Y Moisés sacó al pueblo del campamento para encontrarse con Dios, y ellos estaban de pie en la parte inferior de la montaña.Y el monte Sinaí se cubrió de humo, porque Jehová descendió sobre él en fuego; y su humo subía como el humo de un horno, y todo el monte tembló en gran manera. Y cuando la voz de la trompeta sonó largamente, y se hizo más y más fuerte, Moisés habló, y Dios le respondió con una voz.”

La segunda advertencia de Pablo a estos judíos del primer siglo fue una comparación entre las terribles imágenes y sonidos de Jehová Dios descendiendo sobre el monte Sinaí en medio de truenos, humo y gran fuego; y la hermosa vista de la Jerusalén celestial, con gritos de alabanza y gozo de innumerables ángeles e hijos de Dios reunidos para adorar y alabar al Rey de reyes y Señor de señores. ¡Qué vista será esa! Amén.

El primero fue el escenario cuando Jehová Dios entregó los Diez Mandamientos y la Ley a Moisés en el monte Sinaí. El pueblo de Israel estaba aterrorizado al ver el gran fuego y humo de Dios y la fuerte trompeta de Dios anunciando la llegada de Él:

El Éxodo 20:18-19: “Y todo el pueblo vio los truenos, y los relámpagos, y el sonido de la trompeta, y la montaña humeante; y cuando la gente lo vio, ellos se movieron y se pararon lejos. Y dijeron a Moisés: “Habla tú con nosotros, y te oiremos; pero deja no hable Dios con nosotros, para que no muramos”.

Y el mismo Moisés se llenó de miedo:

Y tan terrible era el espectáculo, que Moisés dijo: “Yo temo y tiemblo sobremanera.”

La Ley de Dios bajo el Antiguo Pacto vino con promesas de juicio y muerte por no obedecerla. Aquí hay un ejemplo de muchos:

El Éxodo 31:14-15: “Así que guardaréis el Sábado: porque santo es a ustedes; el que lo profanare, de cierto morirá: porque cualquiera que hiciere obra alguna en él, aquella alma será cortada de en medio de su pueblo. Seis días se hará obra, pero el día séptimo es Sábado de reposo consagrado a Jehová; cualquiera que hiciere obra el día del Sábado, ciertamente morirá”.

La Ley de Moisés no puede justificar a nadie ni hacer a nadie justo ante los ojos de Dios: ¡solo puede condenarte, porque tú y yo no podemos mantenerlo por completo! Es absolutamente imposible para los pecadores como nosotros guardar la ley.

Romanos 3:19-20: “Y sabemos que cualquier cosa que dice la Ley, ello les dice a los que son bajos la Ley, para que cada boca puede estar cerrada, y todo el mundo puede llegar a ser culpable ante Dios; por tanto, por las obras de la Ley ninguna carne será justificada en su vista: porque por la Ley es el conocimiento del pecado”.

El Señor Jesucristo fue la única persona en la historia humana que pudo guardar la Ley de Moisés sin pecado de ningún tipo, porque Jesús es Dios Todopoderoso en la carne; y Él no podía pecar en absoluto.

1 Pedro 2:21-24: “Porque para esto fuisteis llamados; pues que también Cristo padeció por nosotros, dejándonos ejemplo, para que ustedes sigáis sus pisadas; quien no pecó; ni se halló engaño en su boca; quien cuando le maldecían no respondía con maldición; cuando padecía, no amenazaba, sino que se encomendaba a Aquél que juzga justamente; quien llevó él mismo nuestros pecados en su cuerpo sobre el madero, para que nosotros, siendo muertos a los pecados, vivamos a la justicia: por las heridas del cual habéis sido sanados”.

Por otro lado, bajo el Nuevo Pacto, hay paz con Dios y gozo en el Espíritu Santo para todos los que se han arrepentido de sus pecados y han aceptado a Jesucristo como su Salvador personal:

Hebreo 12:22-24: “Pero os habéis acercado al monte de Sión, y a la ciudad del Dios vivo, la Jerusalén celestial; y a una compañía innumerable de ángeles, a la congregación general e Asamblea de los primogénitos que están inscritos en el Cielo; y a Dios el Juez de todos, y a los espíritus de los justos hechos perfectos; y a Jesús el Mediador del Nuevo Pacto, y a la sangre del rociamiento que habla mejor cosas que el sacrificio de animal de Abel”.

Entonces, ¿dónde preferirías estar? ¿Enfrentando la terrible ira del Todopoderoso Jehová Dios, o disfrutando de su bendición y su paz? Esta fue la elección que enfrentaron estos judíos del primer siglo: enfrentar la ira de la Ley de Dios o convertirse en judíos completos con Jesucristo como su Mesías y Señor.

¡El Señor Jesucristo es el Camino a la Jerusalén celestial, con glorias y alegrías que no se puedan medir! ¡Si le rechazas, entonces la única alternativa es el Juicio de Dios por tus pecados!

Jesús dijo: “Yo soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida: nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí”. Juan 14:6.

Aplicación: Algunos llaman a esta Asamblea de los Primogénitos “la iglesia en la perspectiva” (que no es un mal término). Pero el término “iglesia” es problemático, porque es como un recipiente vacío que se puede llenar con una variedad de significados, desde un grupo de creyentes en un lugar de la Tierra hasta todos los creyentes en todos los lugares que algunos llaman “la Iglesia Universal”, lo cual es falso. No existe tal entidad en la Biblia, aunque muchos hablan de ello como si fuera verdad.

Prefiero el término “Asamblea”, que es una traducción palabra por palabra de la palabra griega “Ecclesia”. Es mucho más bíblico y correcto; y ayuda a eliminar malas enseñanzas sobre la doctrina de la Asamblea. No puedo entrar en detalles aquí, ya que requiere mucha discusión. Pero lo cubriré más a medida que avancemos a través de las cartas de los Apóstoles, especialmente 1 Corintios y Efesios.

¶El complemento No rechacéis a Él que habla desde el Cielo, porque él es fuego consumidor (12:25 - 29)

Único Mirad que no rechazáis al que habla: porque si ellos no escaparon quien le rechazó que habló en la tierra, mucho más no escaparemos, si nosotros nos alejamos de él que habla desde el Cielo.

El complemento Cuya voz entonces sacudió la tierra;

El complemento pero ahora ha prometido, diciendo, “Aún una vez más, haré temblar no solo la tierra, sino también el Cielo.”

Lo opuesto Y esta palabra, “Aún una vez”, significando la remoción de aquellas cosas que son sacudidas, como cosas que se hacen, para que aquellas cosas que son inconmovibles pueden continuar.

Lo opuesto Por tanto, nosotros, recibiendo un reino que no puede ser sacudido, utilicemos la gracia, por la cual podamos servir a Dios aceptablemente con reverencia y temor piadoso: ¡porque nuestro Dios es fuego consumidor!

Comentarios: La tercera y última advertencia de Pablo a estos judíos del primer siglo es explícita:

En otras palabras, no habrá escapatoria de la ira de Dios [en el año 70 d.C.] si rehúsas aceptar a Cristo como tu Mesías.

Lo opuesto Y esta palabra, “Aún una vez”, significando la remoción de aquellas cosas que son sacudidas, como cosas que se hacen, para que aquellas cosas que son inconmovibles pueden continuar.

¡El Reino de Dios no puede ser sacudido ni destruido!

Daniel 2:44: “Y en los días de estos reyes, el Dios del Cielo levantará un reino que jamás será destruido; y este reino no será dejado a otro pueblo; desmenuzará y consumirá a todos estos reinos, y ello permanecerá para siempre”.

Daniel 7:9-10: “Estuve mirando hasta que los tronos fueron echados abajo. Y el Anciano de días se sentó, cuya vestidura era blanca como la nieve, y el cabello de su cabeza como lana pura; su trono era como llama de fuego, y sus ruedas, como fuego ardiente. Un río de fuego procedía y salía de delante de él; millares de millares le servían, y millones de millones asistían delante de él. El juicio se sentó, y los libros fueron abiertos”.

Muchos tontos asumen que Dios es como Papá Noel, que hace un guiño a nuestras “maldades” y nos da carbón en las medias si somos “malos”, y regalos si somos buenos. Todo el mundo va al Cielo excepto Hitler, según este pensamiento.

¡Pero el Dios de la Biblia no es nada como esto! ¡Dios es un Dios de santidad y justicia!

¡Y Dios no permitirá que un solo pecado entre en el Cielo! Ni siquiera “una pequeña mentira blanca”.

La revelación 21:6-8: “Y me dijo, “Hecho es. Soy el Alfa y la Omega, el principio y el fin. Al que tuviere sed, yo le daré de la fuente del agua de vida gratuitamente. El que venciere, heredará todas las cosas; y yo seré su Dios, y él será mi hijo. Pero los temerosos e incrédulos, los abominables y homicidas, los fornicarios y hechiceros, los idólatras y TODOS LOS MENTIROSOS tendrán su parte en el lago que arde con fuego y azufre, que es la muerte segunda”.

¡Mahoma y el Islam NO son el Camino a Dios! ¡María no es el Camino a Jesús ni al Cielo! ¡Ninguna iglesia, ningún bautismo y ninguna buena obra pueden salvarte!

Jesús dijo: “Yo soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida: nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí”. Juan 14:6.

El Corán (17:111) dice que Alá no tiene hijo. ¡La Biblia está de acuerdo, porque el único Dios verdadero de la Biblia tiene un Hijo, y su Nombre es el Señor Jesucristo! ¡Por lo tanto, “alá” no es Dios!

Aun los demonios saben que Jehová Elohim tiene un Hijo, y lo reconocieron en Jesucristo:

Marcos 3:11: “Y los espíritus inmundos, al verle, se postraban delante de él, y daban voces, diciendo, “¡Tú eres el Hijo de Dios!”

Los reformadores protestantes tenían 100% de razón sobre el Papa: ¡todos decían que él era un anticristo! ¡La religión católica es mucho peor hoy que en los días de los reformadores! ¡No hay salvación en ninguna iglesia y no hay esperanza en el Papa!

Si usted es musulmán, católico romano, hindú, bahai, ateo/agnóstico, o una persona que es miembro de una iglesia, pero tú confía en tu bautismo o en tus buenas obras para ser salvado, entonces eres un pecador ante Dios que pronto comparecerá ante Él en el Juicio; ¡después de lo cual te arrojará al lago de fuego por los siglos de los siglos!

¿Te das cuenta de que en el cielo: musulmanes, católicos romanos, hindúes, bahá’ís, sintoístas, ateos/agnósticos y falsos cristianos nunca podrán entrar en ese lugar sagrado? ¡Así es, amigo! Cualquiera que no sea un cristiano nacido de nuevo, nunca verá las glorias y maravillas del Cielo, porque estará en el Infierno hasta el juicio del Gran Trono Blanco; y después de eso, el Lago de Fuego, por los siglos de los siglos; ¡y nunca saldrás!

¡Que Dios te abra los ojos al peligro extremo en el que te encuentras ahora mismo! Si tu corazón dejara de latir por alguna razón, caerías instantáneamente en un lugar terrible Si tu corazón dejara de latir por alguna razón, ¡caerías instantáneamente en un lugar terrible que está lleno de azufre ardiente, fuego, y continuos lamentos, llantos, crujir de dientes y sufrimiento extremo por todos los que están en ese lugar! ¡Estás literalmente a solo un latido del corazón del infierno!

El único escape para ti de ese terrible lugar llamado Infierno es la Obra Terminada de Jesucristo en la cruz hace 2000 años. Jesús sufrió en la cruz por los pecados de toda la humanidad: pasados, presentes y futuros; y eso te incluía a ti ya mí, ¡gracias a Dios! Su sufrimiento es suficiente para que hagas las paces con Dios, quien está enojado contigo a causa de tus pecados.

Todo lo que debe hacer es creer en el Señor Jesucristo, que Él es el Hijo de Dios que vino a la Tierra para nacer de una virgen, vivió una vida perfecta y sin pecado durante 33 años, fue crucificado y sufrió un dolor inimaginable, para que no tengamos que sufrir en el Infierno, si hemos confiado en Él para salvarnos; y cuando murió, lo pusieron en un sepulcro por 3 días. ¡Después, Jesús resucitó de entre los muertos, victorioso sobre el pecado, la muerte, el infierno y la tumba! Amén.

También debes comprender y creer que eres un pecador; ¡y que tus pecados ayudaron a poner a Jesucristo en la cruz! ¡Así es, amigo! ¡Jesús murió POR TI, para que tengas Vida Eterna!

Juan 3:16: Jesús dijo, “Porque Dios amó tanto al mundo, que él dio a su Hijo unigénito, que cualquiera que cree en él no deberían perecer, sino tener Vida Eterna.”

¿Crees estas cosas? Entonces y solo entonces podrás pedir perdón, basado en tu fe en lo que Jesús hizo por ti en la cruz hace 2000 años. Es su OBRA TERMINADA (no podemos agregarle ni quitarle nada). Es un regalo de Dios que nos fue dado; ¡pero su Obra Terminada por nosotros no nos hará ningún bien A MENOS QUE LO ACEPTEMOS COMO NUESTRO SALVADOR PERSONAL!

Si crees en Jesús, pero no oras para recibir su regalo de salvación, ¡aún irás al infierno!

Romanos 10:13: “Porque está escrito, “Cualquiera que llamará sobre el Nombre del Señor será salvado.”

Así es como puede ser salvado, SI USTED CREE todo lo que acabo de explicar. Reza esta oración con todo tu corazón para recibir a Cristo como tu Salvador:

“Señor Jesús, sé que he pecado contra TI. ¡No soy bueno y tú eres justo! Creo que moriste en la cruz por mis pecados, fuiste enterrado y resucitaste de entre los muertos al tercer día. Quiero que vengas a mi vida y seas mi Señor y Salvador. Por favor entra en mi corazón ahora mismo. Perdóname por todos mis pecados y salva mi alma. En el poderoso Nombre de Jesús, oro, ¡Amén!”
