Preface: The Letter to the Hebrews was written to the Jews of the first century who had been saved under the Old Covenant using the system of animal sacrifices in the Temple of Herod and the priesthood of Aaron and his sons.

But now that Christ had already atoned for the sins of the world on the cross of Calvary in 33 A.D., those Jews needed to move from the Old Covenant of repeated animal sacrifices to the New Covenant of Christ, which was based only on his sacrifice on the cross, which was finished and completed, once for all time: never to be repeated. This is a very important point, from which I will make applications in this study.

This process of moving from the Old to the New Covenant was one of completion for these Jews. They were already the children of God by faith! But they were incomplete in their faith without Christ as the center of their faith: it was time for them to grow up and embrace Christ, or be judged by Jehovah for their disobedience.

This letter was not written for anyone outside of this group of people; either they became followers of Christ (we know that some of them did), or they continued under the Old Covenant and were punished with death in the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 A.D.

We can apply many spiritual lessons for Christians today; but the interpretation of this letter belongs only to the Jews of the first century. Any other interpretation will lead you into doctrinal errors.

The Golden Ratio design and outline of Hebrews, Chapter 1.4:

Chapter 1.4: The Old Covenant saints looked forward with saving faith to their Messiah (10:32 - 11:40)

§Unique Introduction: The response of a believer to the will of God will lead either to victory or self-destruction (10:32 -39)

¶Opposite Obedience to the will of God will enable a believer to overcome the opposition of others to their faith (10:32 -34)

¶Opposite Disobedience to the will of God will cause backsliding to your own destruction (10:35 - 39)

§Complement Body: The fathers of the nation of Israel obeyed Jehovah their God by faith (11:1 - 31)

¶Opposite The Patriarchs before the Great Flood obeyed God by faith (11:1 - 7)

¶Opposite Abraham and Sara were seeking a future heavenly country and city of God by faith (11:8 - 16)

¶Complement Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob prophesied the future of their sons by faith (11:17 - 22)

¶Complement Moses refused to enjoy the pleasures of sin in Egypt by faith in his future reward (11:23 - 26)

¶Unique Moses and Joshua forsook Egypt and led Israel to the Promised Land by faith (11:27 - 31)

§Complement Conclusion: The saints of God lived and died by faith (11:32 - 40)

¶Complement The saints of God won great victories by faith (11:32 - 34)

¶Complement The saints of God suffered and died by faith (11:35 - 40)

In this study, we will cover the rest of the Body section. I want you to see the Golden Ratio design of each paragraph. It works this way in most chapters in the Bible in the Golden Ratio design; the concepts are the same.

In the introduction, there are almost always two paragraphs that oppose each other in their themes; and their internal design follows this: “UCC-OO || OO-CCU” (to use shorthand).

In this chapter, the Body section begins with two paragraphs with opposite themes; and their internal design is the same as the introduction.

In the Body section, in paragraphs where the themes complement each other (like two sides of the same coin), the internal design is always “UCC-OO” or “one unique, two complements, and two opposites.”

In the paragraphs that are “unique”, such as paragraph 5: “Moses and Joshua forsook Egypt and led Israel to the Promised Land by faith (11:27 - 31)”, then the internal design is always “OO-CCU” or “two opposites, two complements, and one unique”. You can see this in the following paragraphs below.

But in the Conclusion section, there are almost always two paragraphs that complement each other in their themes; and their internal design is the same: “OO-CCU” or “Two opposites, two complements, and one unique”.

There is much more detail about these patterns that apply to the level of the Book and even to the entire Volume, but I will not include that discussion here. If you want more information, you should download the PDF version of the Kingdom Bible version (see the top of this webpage) and go to the Appendix, where I provide many of these details.

Comments: In this chapter, the Apostle Paul continues to exhort his Jewish brothers (who were saved under the Old Covenant, but had not yet embraced the Lord Jesus Christ as their Messiah) to follow the example of faith and obedience that their fathers had done so long ago.

The point that he makes again and again is that these saints believed by faith things that they could not see, and acted on their faith, even though the entire world rejected their faith.

These Jews were living among other Jews who vehemently rejected Jesus as their Messiah; and who were determined to continue under the Old Covenant system of animal sacrifices, regardless of the cost; and their rebellion would eventually cost them greatly, with the destruction of the Temple and Jerusalem itself in 70 A.D. with over one million Jews who were slain by the Roman army of Titus.

God was calling them to follow the footsteps of faith of their fathers and believe in Christ, regardless of the cost to them; and their reward would be great! And we must also do the same as these great men, who believed in Jehovah their God, and acted on their faith:

Hebrews 11:7: “By faith, Noah, being warned by God of things as yet unseen, moved with fear; and he prepared an Ark to the saving of his household; by which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.”

¶Complement Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob prophesied the future of their sons by faith (11:17 - 22)

Unique By faith, Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac; and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son (of whom it was said, that “In Isaac, your seed shall be called”); accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.

Complement By faith, Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.

Complement By faith, Jacob, when he was dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and he worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff.

Opposite By faith, Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel;

Opposite and he gave a command concerning his bones.

Comments: Notice that the internal design of this paragraph is the same as the next paragraph: one unique, two complements, and two opposites.

Abraham believed in Jehovah God so much that he believed that if he killed his son Isaac, God would raise him up from the dead, because God had promised Abraham before that Isaac was the promised seed through whom the Messiah would come. Abraham knew that Jehovah was a God of truth and righteousness and therefore, HE COULD NOT LIE to him! We also can trust in his Word to always be faithful and true. God will never lie to us! I can always trust the Lord Jesus Christ to tell me the truth about everything, even when I don’t want to hear it! Amen.

John 14:6: “Jesus says to him, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes to the Father, except through me.”

Jesus is the Living Word of God; the Bible is the written Word of God: you cannot separate them from each other! Amen.

¶Complement Moses refused to enjoy the pleasures of sin in Egypt by faith in his future reward (11:23 - 26)

Unique By faith, Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents: for they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king’s command.

Complement By faith, Moses, when he was grown, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;

Complement choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

Opposite considering the reproach of Christ to be greater riches than the treasures in Egypt:

Opposite for he focused on the payment of his future reward.

Comments: Notice that the internal design of this paragraph is the same as the previous paragraph: one unique, two complements, and two opposites.

After we have been born again into the Kingdom of God through repentance and faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the cross, we suddenly discover that we have become the enemy of the world!

James 4:4: “You adulterers and adulteresses, do you not know that the friendship of the world of sin is hatred of God? Therefore, whosoever chooses to be a friend of the world [of sin] has become an enemy of God.”

Moses had to make a decision: serve Jehovah his God by faith or serve the flesh and the world of sin. He had everything! He was an adopted son of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt; and by inheritance, he was one of the wealthiest men in the world at that time. He could have as many women, and as much gold and silver as he wanted. All he had to do was to serve Satan and his kingdom.

But Moses knew the God of his fathers: Jehovah Elohim, the one true God; and he knew that God had promised his ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that the Messiah would come through their seed; and that the true permanent riches and rewards for him would only be found in the Kingdom of God, not in fulfilling the temporary lusts of the flesh that would satisfy only for a short time; and after that would come the Judgment of God!

So Moses rejected the temptations of the flesh and all the wealth of Egypt in order to follow the will of Jehovah his God.

Not many born-again Christians will find themselves in a similar situation as Moses; however, we also have to make a similar decision, don’t we? If we want to inherit the true riches of God in his Kingdom that will last forever, we must deny ourselves the temporary pleasures of the flesh that are offered everywhere! For example, on the internet, we can find all kinds of pornography, can’t we? Yes indeed! Satan makes it EASY to sin; but we must say no to the flesh and yield ourselves to the Lord, so that He will have his perfect Way in our hearts and in our lives.

Luke 9:23-26: “And he said to them all, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me: for whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. For what is a man advantaged, if he gains the whole world, and loses himself, or is cast away? For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s glory, and of the holy angels.”

¶Unique Moses and Joshua forsook Egypt and led Israel to the Promised Land by faith (11:27 - 31)

Opposite By faith, he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

Opposite By faith, he kept the Passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn might touch them.

Complement By faith, they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, which the Egyptians attempting to do were drowned.

Complement By faith, the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were encircled seven days.

Unique By faith, the prostitute Rahab did not perish with them that believed not, having welcomed the spies with peace.

Comments: Notice that the internal design of this paragraph is the reverse of the previous two paragraphs: two opposites, two complements and one unique.

Do you see the repeated “By faith, he forsook Egypt”, “by faith, he kept the Passover”, “by faith, they passed through the Red Sea”, “by faith, the walls of Jericho fell down”?

The point is that true faith in God is always followed by ACTION! Those who claim that they believe in Jesus Christ, but in their daily lives, they continue in their lives of sin and ungodliness: they are LYING! Faith without action is not true faith!

1 John 1:6: “If we claim that we have fellowship with him, but walk in darkness, we are lying, and not telling the truth.”

And this was exactly the point that James made in his letter:

James 2:14-26:

Unique “My brethren, what benefit is it, if a man says that he has faith, but has no works? Can faith alone save him?

Complement For example, if a brother or sister is naked, and has no daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace; be warmed and filled”, notwithstanding you do not give them those things that are necessary to the body: what good is it?

Complement Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being alone. Indeed, a man may say, “You have faith, and I have works; show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”

Opposite You believe that there is one God; you do well; the demons also believe, and tremble.

Opposite But will you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Do you see how that faith assisted his works; and out of the works faith was fully developed? And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was imputed to him for righteousness”; and he was called “the Friend of God.” You all see, then, how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith alone. Likewise also, was not Rahab the prostitute justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is also dead.

James wasn’t saying that we are justified by works alone: he was saying that the works that flow from a life that has been changed through repentance and faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the cross will be much different than the works of the previous life.

In other words, true faith in Christ always results in a life that is gradually being transformed into the image of Christ, day by day, week by week, month by month, and year by year.

In other words, true faith in Christ always results in works that match the faith. A false faith in Christ will never result in the works of a true born again Christian.

There are many who make a profession of faith in Jesus Christ, but their lives are the same afterward as they were before the profession. These people are living a delusion that they are Christians, but they do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior yet! They have never been born again.

I knew two men in a church that I attended many years ago. Both of them were men who everyone believed were true Christians.

One of them was the head of the deacons in the church. He had been attending independent, Fundamental Baptist churches most of his life. The pastor often called upon him to pray during church services. But one night after an evangelistic meeting, God spoke to his heart, and said, “You’re not saved yet.” (This was the way he described it later.)

He resisted the voice in his conscience and thought to himself that he had gone forward to the altar to be saved in a church service many years before, so he must be saved! But the voice in his conscience continued to bother him; and one day, he received the unmistakeable impression that God told him, “If you don’t get saved now, you will never be saved.” This thought terrified him, and he called the pastor to his house; and he prayed with him to receive Christ as his Savior.

Afterwards, he was baptized and gave testimony to what God had done in his heart. And this man was much different than before! Not only was there a heavenly glow on his face, but he looked happier and was finally at peace with the Lord. His changed life manifested his true repentance and faith in Christ!

The other man was a church member; but I always thought that something was wrong with him, in the sense that he always looked like he was a fish out of water, if you know what I mean. His face was filled with anxiety and it was obvious to everyone that he was not at peace with God. But one day, he did repent and put his trust in Christ as his Savior, and from that day forward, he was a changed man! His face had a heavenly glow and and inner happiness that only having your sins forgiven can provide.

Romans 8:14-16: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God: for you have not received the spirit of slavery again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, “Papa, Father!” The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.”

You can try to fake being a Christian, but true believers will know that something is wrong, because you cannot be filled with the Holy Spirit and you are an alien from the Kingdom of God! You are an empty suit/dress with only sins within you, because you are a tare: you look like the real thing, but you are a false believer.

Matthew 13:24-30: “He put forth another parable to them, saying, “The Kingdom of Heaven is likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade had sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the householder came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? From where then does it have tares?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Will you then that we go and gather them up?’ But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares, you root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest; and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, ‘Gather together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn.’’”

If you truly have repented of your sins and placed all of your faith for salvation in Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, then you must begin to live like it! Find a Bible-believing, independent Baptist church in your area and be baptized in deep water; and begin attending that church faithfully so that you can learn how to follow Christ every day of your life!

James 1:22-25: “But be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if anyone is a hearer of the Word, and not a doer, he is like a man beholding his natural face in a mirror: for he beholds himself, and goes his way, and immediately forgets what manner of man he was. But whoso looks into the perfect Law of liberty, and continues in it (he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work), this man shall be blessed in his deed.”

If you are a Tare, then you are in great danger! When you die, you will go to Hell, because you are not a true born-again Christian. Repent now, and pray that the Lord will forgive you for your unbelief and your great sins of pretending to be one of his children; and ask Him to save you! And He will; Amen.

Demonstrate your faith in Christ with a life that matches your profession of faith; and God will bless you; Amen.

If you are not ready to meet the Lord Jesus when He returns or when you die (whichever is first), then your future will be set forever and ever! There will be no hope for you, because you will become part of the screaming, crying horde of sinners that are locked in the horrible prison of Hell until the Great White Throne Judgment; after which, you will then be cast into the Lake of Fire forever and ever and ever; and YOU WILL NEVER GET OUT!

Revelation 20:11-15: “And I saw a Great White Throne, and him that sat on it; from whose face the earth and the Heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the Books were opened; and another Book was opened, which is the Book of Life; and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the Books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and Hell delivered up the dead which were in them; and they were judged every man according to their works. And Death and Hell were cast into the Lake of Fire: this is the second death; and whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire.”

Muhammad and Islam is NOT the Way to God! Mary is not the Way to Jesus or to Heaven! The church cannot save you!

Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.” John 14:6.

The Quran (17:111) says that allah has no son.

The Bible agrees, because the one true God of the Bible has a Son, and his Name is the Lord Jesus Christ! Therefore, "allah" is not God!

Even the devils know that Jehovah Elohim has a Son, and they recognized Him in Jesus Christ:

Mark 3:11: "And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him; and they cried, saying, “You are the Son of God!”

I John 2:22-23: "Who is the liar, if not he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is Antichrist: the one who denies the equality of the Father and the Son. Whosoever denies the Son, does not have the Father; but he that confesses the Son has the Father also."

Your good works are not good enough to save you!

Ephesians 2:8-9: “For by grace you have been permanently saved through faith; and that faith is not out of yourselves: it is the gift of God; not of our own works, lest any man should boast.”

But, if you believe that Jesus is the Son of God; and if you believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, and rose again from the dead on the third day; and if you are willing to repent of your sins now and you want to be saved and have a future in Heaven when you die, then you can use this prayer to receive Christ as your Savior and be saved, right now. Today is the day of Salvation! Tomorrow may be too late!

“Lord Jesus, I know that I have sinned against YOU. I am no good, and you are righteous! You are my only hope for salvation! I believe that you died on the cross for my sins, you were buried, and you rose again from the dead on the third day. I want you to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart right now. Forgive me for all my sins, and save my soul. In the mighty Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen!”

Prefacio: La Carta a los Hebreos fue escrita a los judíos del primer siglo que se habían salvado bajo el Antiguo Pacto usando el sistema de sacrificios de animales en el Templo de Herodes y el sacerdocio de Aarón y sus hijos.

Pero ahora que Cristo ya había expiado los pecados del mundo en la cruz del Calvario en el año 30 d.C., esos judíos necesitaban pasar del Antiguo Pacto de repetidos sacrificios de animales al Nuevo Pacto de Cristo, que se basó únicamente en su sacrificio en la cruz, que fue consumado y completado, una vez para siempre: nunca se repetirá. En la introducción, casi siempre hay dos párrafos que se contraponen en sus temas; y su diseño interno sigue este: “UCC-OO || OO-CCU” (para usar abreviatura).

Comentarios: En este capítulo, el Apóstol Pablo continúa exhortando a sus hermanos judíos (que fueron salvados bajos el Antiguo Pacto, pero que aún no habían abrazado al Señor Jesucristo como su Mesías) seguir el ejemplo de fe y obediencia que sus padres habían hecho tanto tiempo atrás.

El punto que recalca una y otra vez es que estos santos creyeron por fe en cosas que no podían ver, y actuaron en base a su fe, aunque el mundo entero rechazó su fe.

Estos judíos vivían entre otros judíos que rechazaron con vehemencia a Jesús como su Mesías, y que estaban decididos a continuar bajo el sistema del Antiguo Pacto de sacrificios de animales, sin importar el costo; y su rebelión eventualmente les costaría mucho, con la destrucción del Templo y de Jerusalén misma en el año 70 d.C. con más de un millón de judíos que fueron asesinados por el ejército romano de Tito.

Dios los estaba llamando a seguir los pasos de fe de sus padres y creer en Cristo, sin importar el costo para ellos; y la recompensa de ellos sería grande! Y también tenemos que hacer lo mismo que estos grandes hombres, que creyeron en Jehová su Dios, y obraron conforme a su fe:

Hebreos 11:7: “Por la fe, Noé, siendo advertido por Dios de cosas que aún no se veían, movido con miedo, y preparó el Arca a la salvación de su casa; por el cual, él condenó al mundo, y llegó a ser heredero de la justicia que es por la fe”.

¶El complemento Abraham, Isaac y Jacob profetizaron el futuro de sus hijos por la fe (11:17 - 22)

Único Por la fe, Abraham, cuando fue probado, ofreció a Isaac, y él que había recibido las promesas, ofreció a su hijo unigénito, de quien fue dicho, “En Isaac, tu simiente será llamada”; habiendo considerado que Dios podía resucitarle, incluso desde los muertos; desde donde también él le recibió en figura.

El complemento Por la fe, Isaac bendijo a Jacob y a Esaú acerca de las cosas por venir.

El complemento Por la fe, Jacob, cuando se estaba muriendo, bendijo a cada uno de los hijos de José; y él adoró, apoyándose en la parte superior de su bordón.

Lo opuesto Por la fe, José, cuando el murió, hizo mención del éxodo de los hijos de Israel;

Lo opuesto y dio mandamiento acerca de sus huesos.

Abraham creyó tanto en Jehová Dios que creyó si mataba a su hijo Isaac, Dios lo resucitaría de entre los muertos, porque Dios le había prometido a Abraham antes que Isaac era la simiente prometida, a través del cual vendría el Mesías. Abraham sabía que Jehová era un Dios de verdad y justicia y por lo tanto, ¡ÉL NO PODRÍA MENTIR A ÉL! Nosotros también podemos confiar en su Palabra para ser siempre fieles y verdaderos. ¡Dios nunca nos mentirá! Siempre puedo confiar en el Señor Jesucristo para que me diga la verdad sobre todo, ¡incluso cuando no quiero oírla! Amén.

Juan 14:6: “Jesús le dice: ‘Yo soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida; nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí’”.

Jesús es la Palabra Viva de Dios; la Biblia es la Palabra de Dios escrita: ¡no podéis separarlos unos de otros! Amén.

¶El complemento Moisés rehusó disfrutar los placeres del pecado en Egipto por la fe en su recompensa futura (11:23 - 26)

Único Por la fe, Moisés, cuando nació, fue escondido de sus padres por tres meses: porque vieron que era niño hermoso; y ellos no temieron el comando del rey.

El complemento Por la fe, Moisés, cuando él era adulto, rehusó ser llamado a hijo de la hija de Faraón:

El complemento escogiendo antes ser afligido con el pueblo de Dios, que gozar de los placeres de pecado por una temporada:

Lo opuesto considerando el oprobio de Cristo ser mayores riquezas que los tesoros de Egipto:

Lo opuesto porque se centró en el pago de la recompensa futura de él.

Después de haber nacido de nuevo en el Reino de Dios a través del arrepentimiento y la fe en la Obra terminada de Cristo en la cruz, ¡descubrimos de repente que nos hemos convertido en enemigos del mundo!

Jacobo 4:4: “Adúlteros y adúlteras, ¿no sabéis que la amistad del mundo del pecado es enemistad contra Dios? Por lo tanto, cualquiera que elija ser amigo del mundo del pecado se hace a sí mismo en un enemigo de Dios.”

Moisés tuvo que tomar una decisión: servir a Jehová su Dios por fe o servir a la carne y al mundo de pecado. ¡Él lo tenía todo! Era hijo adoptivo de Faraón, rey de Egipto; y por herencia, era uno de los hombres más ricos del mundo en ese momento. Podía tener tantas mujeres y tanto oro y plata como quisiera. Todo lo que tenía que hacer era servir a Satanás y su reino.

Pero Moisés conocía al Dios de sus padres: Jehová Elohim, el único Dios verdadero; y sabía que Dios había prometido a sus antepasados Abraham, Isaac y Jacob que el Mesías vendría a través de su simiente; y que las verdaderas riquezas y recompensas permanentes para él solo se encontrarían en el Reino de Dios, no en el cumplimiento de los deseos temporales de la carne que satisfarían sólo por un corto tiempo; ¡y después de eso vendría el Juicio de Dios!

Así que Moisés rechazó las tentaciones de la carne y todas las riquezas de Egipto para seguir la voluntad de Jehová su Dios.

No muchos cristianos nacidos de nuevo se encontrarán en una situación similar a la de Moisés; sin embargo, también tenemos que tomar una decisión similar, ¿no? ¡Si queremos heredar las verdaderas riquezas de Dios en su Reino que durará para siempre, debemos negarnos a nosotros mismos los placeres temporales de la carne que se ofrecen en todas partes! Por ejemplo, en internet podemos encontrar todo tipo de pornografía, ¿no? ¡Sí, de hecho! Satanás hace que sea FÁCIL pecar; pero debemos decir no a la carne y entregarnos al Señor, para que Él tenga su Camino perfecto en nuestro corazón y en nuestra vida.

Lucas 9:23-26: “Y dijo a todos ellos, “Si alguno quiere venir en pos de mí, déjale negarse él mismo, y tome su cruz cada día, y sígame: porque quienquiera que quiera salvar su vida, la perderá; sino quienquiera que pierda su vida por mi causa, lo mismo lo salvará: porque ¿qué ha ganado un hombre, si él gana todo el mundo, y se destruye o pierde a sí mismo? Porque quienquiera que se avergüence de mí y de mis palabras, de él se avergonzará el Hijo del hombre, cuando él vendrá en su propia gloria, y en la gloria de su Padre, y de los santos ángeles”.

¶Único Moisés y Josué abandonaron Egipto y llevaron a Israel a la Tierra Prometida por la fe (11:27 - 31)

Lo opuesto Por la fe, él abandonó Egipto, no temiendo la ira del rey: porque aguantó, como viendo al que es invisible.

Lo opuesto Por la fe, él celebró la pascua y el rociamiento de la sangre, no sea que el que destruyó a los primogénitos podría tocarlos. --

El complemento Por la fe, ellos pasaron por el Mar Rojo como por tierra seca; cual los egipcios, tratando de hacer, se ahogaron.

El complemento Por la fe, los muros de Jericó cayeron, después de rodearlos siete días.

Único Por la fe, Rahab la ramera no pereció juntamente con los incrédulos, habiendo recibido a los espías con paz.

Comentarios: Nótese que el diseño interno de este párrafo es el inverso de los dos párrafos anteriores: dos opuestos, dos complementarios y uno único.

¿Ves el repetido “Por la fe abandonó a Egipto”, “por la fe guardó la Pascua”, “por la fe atravesaron el Mar Rojo”, “por la fe cayeron los muros de Jericó”?

¡El punto es que la verdadera fe en Dios siempre es seguida por la ACCIÓN! Los que dicen creer en Jesucristo, pero en su vida diaria siguen en su vida de pecado e impiedad: ¡ESTÁN MINTIENDO! ¡La fe sin la acción no es verdadera fe!

1 Juan 1:6: “Si decimos que tenemos comunión con él, pero andamos en tinieblas, mentimos y no decimos la verdad.”

Y este fue exactamente el punto que Jacobo hizo en su carta:

Jacobo 2:14-26:

Único “Hermanos míos, ¿qué beneficio es, si un hombre dice que tiene fe, pero no tiene obras? ¿Puede la fe sola salvarle?

El complemento Por ejemplo, si un hermano o una hermana está desnuda, y no tiene comida por cada día, y uno de ustedes les dice, “Id en paz, sé calentado y lleno”, sin embargo, no les dais las cosas que son necesarias para el cuerpo: ¿cuál es el beneficio?

El complemento Así también la fe, si no tiene obras, está muerta, estando solo. De hecho, un hombre puede decir, “Tú tienes fe, y yo tengo obras; muéstrame tu fe sin tus obras, y yo te mostraré mi fe por mis obras.”

Lo opuesto Tú crees que hay uno Dios; haces bien; también los demonios creen y tiemblan.

Lo opuesto ¿Pero quieres saber, oh hombre vano, que la fe sin obras es muerta? ¿No fue justificado por las obras, Abraham nuestro padre, cuando ofreció a su hijo Isaac sobre el altar? ¿Ves cómo esa fe ayudó a sus obras; y desde las obras, la fe fue desarrollada completamente? Y se cumplió la Escritura que dice, “Abraham creyó a Dios, y le fue imputado por justicia”; y él fue llamado, “El amigo de Dios.” Ustedes todos veis, pues, cómo por las obras el hombre es justificado, y no solamente por la fe. Asimismo también, ¿no fue Rahab la ramera justificada por las obras, cuando ella había recibido a los mensajeros, y los había enviado de otra manera? Porque como el cuerpo sin el espíritu está muerto, así la fe sin obras está muerta también”.

Jacobo no estaba diciendo que somos justificados solo por las obras: él estaba diciendo que las obras que fluyen de una vida que ha sido cambiada a través del arrepentimiento y la fe en la Obra Terminada de Cristo en la cruz serán muy diferentes a las obras de la vida anterior.

En otras palabras, la verdadera fe en Cristo siempre resulta en una vida que se transforma gradualmente a la imagen de Cristo, día a día, semana a semana, mes a mes y año a año.

En otras palabras, la verdadera fe en Cristo siempre resulta en obras que coinciden con la fe. Una fe falsa en Cristo nunca resultará en las obras de un verdadero cristiano nacido de nuevo. Hay muchos que hacen una profesión de fe en Jesucristo, pero sus vidas son las mismas después que antes de la profesión. ¡Estas personas están viviendo un engaño que son cristianos, pero aún no conocen al Señor Jesucristo como su Salvador! Nunca han nacido de nuevo.

Conocí a dos hombres en una iglesia a la que asistí hace muchos años. Ambos eran hombres que todos creían que eran verdaderos cristianos.

Uno de ellos era el jefe de los diáconos en la iglesia. Había estado asistiendo a iglesias Bautistas Fundamentales independientes la mayor parte de su vida. El pastor a menudo lo llamaba a orar durante los servicios de la iglesia. Pero una noche después de una reunión de evangelización, Dios le habló al corazón y le dijo: “Todavía no eres salvado”. (Esta fue la forma en que lo describió más tarde).

Resistió la voz de su conciencia y pensó para sí mismo que había ido adelante al altar para ser salvado en un servicio de la iglesia muchos años antes, ¡así que debe ser salvado! Pero la voz de su conciencia continuaba molestándolo; y un día recibió la inequívoca impresión de que Dios le dijo: “Si no aceptas a Cristo ahora, nunca serás salvado”. Este pensamiento lo aterrorizó, y llamó al pastor a su casa; y oró con él para recibir a Cristo como su Salvador.

Posteriormente, fue bautizado y dio testimonio de lo que Dios había hecho en su corazón. ¡Y este hombre era muy diferente que antes! No solo había un brillo celestial en su rostro, sino que se veía más feliz y finalmente estaba en paz con el Señor. ¡Su vida cambiada manifestó su verdadero arrepentimiento y fe en Cristo!

El otro hombre era miembro de la iglesia; pero siempre pensé que algo andaba mal con él, en el sentido de que siempre parecía un pez fuera del agua, si sabes a lo que me refiero. Su rostro estaba lleno de ansiedad y era obvio para todos que no estaba en paz con Dios. Pero un día, se arrepintió y puso su confianza en Cristo como su Salvador, y desde ese día en adelante, ¡fue un hombre cambiado! Su rostro tenía un brillo celestial y una felicidad interior que solo puede proporcionar el perdón de los pecados.

Romanos 8:14-16: “Porque tantos como son guiados por el Espíritu de Dios, ellos son los hijos de dios: porque no habéis recibido el espíritu de servidumbre para estar otra vez en temor, sino habéis recibido el Espíritu de adopción, por el cual clamamos, “¡Abba Padre!” El Espíritu mismo da testimonio a nuestro espíritu que somos los hijos de Dios.”

Puedes tratar de fingir ser cristiano, pero los verdaderos creyentes sabrán que algo anda mal, porque no puedes ser lleno del Espíritu Santo y eres un extraño del Reino de Dios. Eres un traje / vestido vacío con solo pecados dentro de ti, porque tú eres una cizaña: pareces la cosa real, pero eres un falso creyente.

Mateo 13:24-30: “Les relató otra parábola, diciendo, “El Reino del Cielo es semejante al hombre que sembró buena semilla en su campo; pero mientras dormían los hombres, vino su enemigo y sembró cizaña entre el trigo y se fue. Y cuando la hierba salió y dio fruto, entonces apareció también la cizaña. Y vinieron los siervos del padre de familia y le dijeron, ‘Señor, ¿no sembraste buena semilla en tu campo? ¿De dónde, pues, tiene cizaña?’ Y él les dijo, ‘Un enemigo ha hecho esto.’ Y los siervos le dijeron, ‘¿Quieres, pues, que vayamos y la arranquemos?’ Pero él dijo, ‘No; no sea que al arrancar la cizaña, arranquéis también con ella el trigo. Dejad crecer juntamente lo uno y lo otro hasta la siega; y en el tiempo de la siega yo diré a los segadores, ‘Recoged primero la cizaña, y atadla en manojos para quemarla; pero recoged el trigo en mi granero’’”.

Si realmente se ha arrepentido de sus pecados y ha puesto toda su fe para la salvación en Jesucristo como su Salvador personal, ¡entonces debe comenzar a vivir como tú fueras salvado! ¡Encuentre una iglesia bautista e independiente que cree la Biblia en su área y sé bautizado en aguas profundas; y comienza a asistir fielmente a esa iglesia para que puedas aprender a seguir a Cristo todos los días de tu vida!

Jacobo 1:22-25: “Pero sed hacedores de la Palabra, y no solamente oidores, engañándoos a ustedes mismos. Porque si alguno es oidor de la Palabra, y no hacedor, él es como un hombre que contempla su rostro natural en un espejo: porque él se contempla a sí mismo, y sigue su camino, e inmediatamente olvida qué clase de hombre era. Pero el que mira atentamente en la perfecta Ley de la libertad, y persevera en ella (no siendo oidor olvidadizo, sino hacedor de la obra), éste será bienaventurado en lo que hace”.

Si eres una cizaña, ¡entonces estás en gran peligro! Cuando mueras, irás al infierno, porque no eres un verdadero cristiano nacido de nuevo. Arrepiéntete ahora, y ora para que el Señor te perdone por tu incredulidad y tus grandes pecados de pretender ser uno de sus hijos; ¡y pídele que te salve! Y Él lo hará; Amén.

Demuestra su fe en Cristo con una vida que coincida con su profesión de fe; y Dios te bendecirá; Amén.

Si ni estás listo para encontrarte con el Señor Jesús cuando Él regrese o cuando mueras (lo que ocurra primero), ¡entonces tu futuro será grabado en piedra por los siglos de los siglos! No habrá esperanza para ti, porque te convertirás en parte de la horda de pecadores que gritan y lloran y que están encerrados en la horrible prisión del Infierno hasta el Juicio del Gran Trono Blanco; después de lo cual, serás arrojado al lago de fuego por los siglos de los siglos; ¡y NUNCA SALDRÁS!

La revelación 20:11-15: “Y vi un Gran Trono Blanco, y él que se sentó en ello; desde cuya cara la tierra y el Cielo huyeron lejos, y no se encontró lugar para ellos. Y vi a los muertos, grandes y pequeños, de pie ante Dios; y los libros fueron abiertos; y otro libro fue abierto, cual es el Libro de la Vida; y los muertos fueron juzgados fuera de esas cosas que estaban escritas en los libros, según sus obras. Y el mar entregó los muertos que habían en él; y la muerte y el Infierno entregaron los muertos que estaban en ellos; y fueron juzgados cada uno según sus obras. Y la Muerte y el Infierno fueron arrojados al Lago de Fuego: esta es la segunda muerte; y quienquiera que no fuera encontrado escrito en el Libro de la Vida fue arrojado al Lago de Fuego”.

¡Mahoma y el Islam NO son el Camino a Dios! ¡María no es el Camino a Jesús ni al Cielo! ¡La iglesia no puede salvarte!

Jesús dijo: “Yo soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida: nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí”. Juan 14:6.

El Corán (17:111) dice que Alá no tiene hijo. ¡La Biblia está de acuerdo, porque el único Dios verdadero de la Biblia tiene un Hijo, y su Nombre es el Señor Jesucristo! ¡Por lo tanto, “alá” no es Dios!

Aun los demonios saben que Jehová Elohim tiene un Hijo, y lo reconocieron en Jesucristo:

Marcos 3:11: “Y los espíritus inmundos, al verle, se postraban delante de él, y daban voces, diciendo, “¡Tú eres el Hijo de Dios!”

I Juan 2:22-23: “¿Quién es el mentiroso, si no él que niegue que Jesús es el Cristo? Éste es Anticristo, el que niega la igualdad del Padre y del Hijo. Cualquiera que niega al Hijo, él no tiene al Padre; sino él que confiesa al Hijo también tiene al Padre”.

¡Tus buenas obras no son lo suficientemente buenas para salvarte!

Efesios 2:8-9: “Porque por gracia, habéis sido salvado permanentemente por medio de la fe, y esta fe no es desde ustedes; es don de Dios; no de nuestras propias obras, para que ningún hombre se jacte”.

Pero, si crees que Jesús es el Hijo de Dios; y si creéis que Jesús murió en la cruz por vuestros pecados, y resucitó de entre los muertos al tercer día; y si estás dispuesto a arrepentirte de tus pecados ahora y quieres ser salvado y tener un futuro en el Cielo cuando mueras, entonces puedes usar esta oración para recibir a Cristo como tu Salvador y ser salvado, ahora mismo. ¡Hoy es el día de salvación! ¡Mañana puede ser muy tarde!

“Señor Jesús, sé que he pecado contra TI. ¡No soy bueno y tú eres justo! Creo que moriste en la cruz por mis pecados, fuiste enterrado y resucitaste de entre los muertos al tercer día. Quiero que vengas a mi vida y seas mi Señor y Salvador. Por favor entra en mi corazón ahora mismo. Perdóname por todos mis pecados y salva mi alma. En el poderoso Nombre de Jesús, oro, ¡Amén!”
