I’m not going to repeat the earlier material that I presented in the ten survey studies of the five logical Books in Volume 5. Volume 5 Introduction

The theme of this Chapter is “Look back to the Finished Work of Christ on the cross for your spiritual completion”:

This letter was written to the Jews of the first century who had been saved under the Old Covenant using the system of animal sacrifices in the Temple of Herod and the priesthood of Aaron and his sons.

But now that Christ had already atoned for the sins of the world on the cross of Calvary in 33 A.D., those Jews needed to move from the Old Covenant of repeated animal sacrifices to the New Covenant of Christ, which was based only on his sacrifice on the cross, which was finished and completed, once for all time: never to be repeated. This is a very important point, from which I will make applications in this study.

This process of moving from the Old to the New Covenant was one of completion for these Jews. They were already the children of God by faith! But they were incomplete in their faith without Christ as the center of their faith: it was time for them to grow up and embrace Christ, or be judged by Jehovah for their disobedience.

This letter was not written for anyone outside of this group of people; either they became followers of Christ (we know that some of them did), or they continued under the Old Covenant and were punished with death in the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 A.D.

We can apply many spiritual lessons for Christians today; but the interpretation of this letter belongs only to the Jews of the first century. Any other interpretation will lead you into doctrinal errors.

Now, let’s look at the flow of Chapter 1.3 to help us understand the context:

Chapter 1.3: Look back to the Finished Work of Christ on the cross for your spiritual completion (8:1 - 10:31)

§Complement Introduction: Jesus is the High Priest in Heaven of the New Covenant, which has replaced the Old Covenant (8:1 - 13)

¶Opposite Jesus is the High Priest of the true Tabernacle in Heaven with the responsibility to offer something to God the Father (8:1 - 5)

¶Opposite The Old Covenant was replaced by the New Covenant, because the Jews did not continue in it (8:6 - 13)

§Complement Body: Jesus fulfilled the type of the Day of Atonement with his sacrifice on the cross, once for all time (9:1 - 10:14)

¶Unique The Day of Atonement ceremony by the priest of Aaron was temporary, imperfect, and repeated every year (9:1 - 10)

¶Complement The New Covenant was dedicated by Christ once with his own blood (9:11 - 17)

¶Complement The Old Covenant was dedicated by Moses once with the blood of calves and goats (9:18 - 22)

¶Opposite Jesus entered into the Holy place as the High Priest with his blood to put away sin, once for all time (9:23 - 28)

¶Opposite Jesus became the final sacrifice for sin on the cross to replace the Old with the New Covenant (10:1 - 14)

§Unique Conclusion: Enter into the Holiest by the blood of Jesus or face the consequences of your rebellion against God (10:15 - 31)

¶Complement There is no need for another animal sacrifice for sin, so enter now into the Holiest by the blood of Jesus as a priest yourself (10:15 - 22)

¶Complement But if you continue offering animal sacrifices, you will soon face the consequences of your rebellion against God (10:23 - 31)

Comments: We continue our study of Hebrews Chapter 1.3 in the Golden Ratio design with the last paragraph in the Body section.

Recall from the previous study that the Apostle Paul is summarizing everything that he had explained before in the last two paragraphs of this section.

In the Conclusion, Paul once again urges these Jews of the first century to embrace Christ as their Messiah or face the consequences.

¶Opposite Jesus became the final sacrifice for sin on the cross to replace the Old with the New Covenant (10:1 - 14)

Opposite For the Mosaic Law, having a mere shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices (which they offer year by year into perpetuity) make the comers with them complete. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? Because the worshipers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

Opposite But, in those sacrifices, there is a reminder again of sins every year: for it is impossible that the blood of bulls and of goats could take away sins.

Complement Therefore when he comes into the world, he says, “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire; but a body have you perfected for me, because in burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin, you have had no pleasure. Then I said, ‘See, I come (in the volume of the Book, it is written of me) to do your will, O God.’”

Complement Above when he said, “Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings for sin you did not desire; nor did you have pleasure in it” (which are offered by the Law), then he said, “Behold, I come to do your will, O God.” He takes away the First [Covenant], that he may establish the Second: by which we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all time.

Unique And every Levite priest stands daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; but this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins into perpetuity, sat down on the right hand of God, from henceforth waiting until his enemies are made his footstool: for by a single offering he has perfected into perpetuity them that are being sanctified.

Comments: There are three kinds of Sanctification in the Bible. Let’s examine the first kind.

“by which we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all time.”

This statement is incredibly powerful and important: If we have been born again through repentance and faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the cross, WE HAVE BEEN SANCTIFIED, ONCE FOR ALL TIME.

In other words, once we have been saved, we are always saved! Amen.

“for by a single offering he has perfected into perpetuity them that are being sanctified.”

We (who have received Jesus Christ as our personal Savior) have been PERFECTED INTO PERPETUITY, by our faith in his one offering on the cross!

In Soteriology (the doctrine of Salvation), this is called “Positional Sanctification”.

“Sanctification” means to be set apart from sin by God and cleansed from all sin within our souls by the Blood of Jesus Christ.

In other words, as far as our position with God, we are no longer sinners, but saints! Any person who has been born again is a saint. No one is made a saint by the words of a pope! That is a sick joke and an abomination to the Word of God, my friends! No human being has the power to make anyone a saint. Only Jesus can do that!

I Corinthians 1:1-2: “Paul, called an Apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother; to the Assembly of God which is at Corinth: to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus (called saints), with all that in every place call upon the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord (both theirs and ours):”

Do you see? If you have been sanctified by receiving Christ as your Savior, then you are a saint, according to the Word of God! No pope is needed! Amen.

The sanctification that is ours when we repent of our sins and put our trust in the Finished Work of Christ comes from the Holy Spirit of God, who comes into our life to dwell in our body as his Temple. The holiness of the HOLY Spirit and of Jesus Christ, the Holy One of God, becomes our holiness! Amen.

Positional Sanctification is the sanctification that can occur only once in our lifetime: God transformed us into the children of God by our repentance from sin and faith in the Finished Work of Christ. We can never lose this POSITION before God: once we become a child of God by faith in Christ, we are ALWAYS a child of God by faith in Christ, even if we backslide on God!

In other words, if we have received Jesus Christ as our personal Savior (and are Born Again through faith in Him), then God, in his amazing grace, considers us as permanently saved, even though we are still imperfect in this world. We have been “purchased/redeemed with a price”:

1 Corinthians 6:20: “For you were redeemed for a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

The price was the Atonement for our sins that was made by the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary 2,000 years ago!

“You were redeemed for a price.”

This means that born again believers in Jesus were once SLAVES of sin: we could not stop sinning and sin controlled every part of our lives. Sin was our slave master!

But God purchased us out of the slave market of sin with the once for all time Sacrifice of Christ on the cross to become his servants of righteousness! And He did that because we repented of our sins and placed our faith and hope for salvation only and completely in Jesus Christ! Amen.

Romans 6:17-18: “But thanks to God, that you were the servants of sin; but you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered to you. Being then made free from the sin nature, you became the servants of righteousness.”

In the exact same way as slaves of all races were once purchased at a slave market, God purchased you and I at the slave market of sin, because WE WERE SINNERS by nature and could not stop sinning; but God saved us when we called on his Name, repented of our sins and we placed our faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the cross; and we became the children of God by his grace! Amen and amen.

The second kind of Sanctification is called “Personal Sanctification”.

Hebrews 10:14: “for by a single offering, he has perfected into perpetuity THEM THAT ARE BEING SANCTIFIED.”

Notice in the first part of this text: “by [the Finished Work of Christ on the cross] a single offering, He has perfected into perpetuity...”.

This is our positional sanctification; God has declared us righteous, because of our faith in the Finished Work of Christ.

Romans 3:24-26: “Being justified freely by his grace through the Redemption that is in Christ Jesus; whom God has displayed publicly, to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the passing over of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness, so that God might be just, and the justifier of him who believes in Jesus.”

In the second part of the text, “Them that are BEING SANCTIFIED”: this is the second kind of Sanctification, which is our daily sanctification from sin.

I John 1:7: “But if we walk in the Light, as he is in the Light, we have fellowship one with another; and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son constantly cleanses us from all sin.”

There are several things that God does in the life of a born again believer in Jesus Christ:

1) Notice that the Bible says, “IF we walk in the Light, as He is in the Light”; THEN “the Blood of Christ constantly cleanses us from all sin”. This is Personal Sanctification.

We WERE sanctified from all sins when we were born again because of our repentance and faith in the Finished Work of Christ (Positional Sanctification); but for daily or personal sanctification, we need to be constantly aware of sin and repent immediately and ask the Lord Jesus to cleanse us from our sins with his precious Blood. This will keep our hearts in harmony with the will of God and be filled with his Spirit.

2) God works in the lives of his children to keep them from sin, and He works through the Holy Spirit to chastise us when we stray from Him into sin.

Hebrews 12:5-13: “And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to children, “My son, despise not the discipline of [Jehovah], nor faint when you are rebuked by him: for whom [Jehovah] loves he disciplines, and scourges every son whom he receives.” If you endure discipline, God deals with you as with sons: for what son is he whom the father does not discipline? But if you are without discipline, whereof all are partakers, then you are illegitimate, and not truly sons of God.

Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live? For they truly disciplined us for a few days after their own pleasure; but he for our spiritual good, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

Now, no discipline seems to be joyful for the moment, but painful; yet afterward, it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who experience it. Therefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; and make straight paths for your feet, so that the lame part cannot be dislocated; but rather can be healed.”

This never occurs with a child of the devil! If you can commit sins and God never chastises you for those sins, then you are a child of the devil and you do not belong to Jesus! You are still in your sins and will go to Hell when you die.

You are a child of the devil if you have never been born again: sinning is normal for you; every day and every moment, you are sinning against God, and you cannot stop!

I John 3:7-9: “Little children, let no man deceive you; he that works righteousness is righteous, even as Jesus is righteous. He that continually sins is of the devil: for the devil sins from the beginning. The Son of God was manifested for this purpose, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God does not continually sin: for his Seed remains in him; and he cannot continually sin, because he is born of God.”

But for a born again child of God, a sin is like an earthquake in your soul! You lose your fellowship with your Savior and God, and you also lose your peace with God. Your life becomes filled with evil and trouble, because you have departed from your Savior. If that describes you, then repent now! Do not allow sin to build up in your life, but immediately confess all sins and commit your life to the Lord Jesus Christ without reservation.

There are other aspects of Personal Sanctification which are very important, but we do not have space in this study to examine them fully, such as the filling of the Holy Spirit and personal dedication to serve the Lord. We will study those in the letter to the Romans.

The Apostle Paul described the three types of Sanctification in this text:

2 Corinthians 1:9-10: “But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead; who delivered us from so great a death, and delivers now; in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us.”

Now notice the three types of sanctification:

1) who delivered us from so great a death

2) and delivers now

3) in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us

“Delivered” is another word for “salvation” or “saved”. Let me expand on those three points from 2 Corinthians:

1) When we received Christ as our Savior, we were delivered from the second Death in the Lake of Fire. This is our Positional Sanctification.

2) We are being continually delivered from the power of sin today (or at least God has given us the power to be delivered from sin, but only if we surrender our lives to Him and allow Him to have his perfect Way in every part of our life). This is our Personal Sanctification.

3) He will deliver us in the future when Christ returns to resurrect all of his children from the grave and rapture those who are living, to be with Him in Heaven forevermore. This is our PERMANENT Sanctification.

Amen and Praise the Lord!

Dear friend, if you are a Jew, Muslim, Hindu, Roman Catholic, Jehovah’s Witness, Mormon, atheist, agnostic or a false Christian, you have never experienced the first or second kind of sanctification; and you will never experience the third kind, which is Eternal Life in Heaven! You do not know the one true God, the Lord Jesus Christ of the Bible. He is only a concept to you, and you probably use his holy Name as a curse word on occasion.

You are like Pharoah of old:

Exodus 5:2: “And Pharaoh said, “Who is Jehovah, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I do not know Jehovah; neither will I let Israel go.””

I pray that you will repent of your unbelief in Him and turn to Jesus Christ right now in repentance of your sins and your false gods, and believe on Him as your Final Sacrifice for sins forever. Receive Him now as your personal Savior and receive his free gift of Eternal Life!

Here is a prayer that you can use to be saved and know that you have Eternal Life and you can KNOW for certain that you have Eternal Life, right now!

“Lord Jesus, I know that I have sinned against YOU. I am no good, and you are righteous! You are my only hope for salvation! I believe that you died on the cross for my sins, you were buried, and you rose again from the dead on the third day. I want you to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart right now. Forgive me for all my sins, and save my soul. In the mighty Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen!”

El tema de este Capítulo es “Mirad hacia atrás a la obra terminada de Cristo en la cruz para tu finalización espiritual”:

Esta carta fue escrita a los judíos del primer siglo que se habían salvado bajo el Antiguo Pacto usando el sistema de sacrificios de animales en el Templo de Herodes y el sacerdocio de Aarón y sus hijos.

Pero ahora que Cristo ya había expiado los pecados del mundo en la cruz del Calvario en el año 30 d.C., esos judíos necesitaban pasar del Antiguo Pacto de repetidos sacrificios de animales al Nuevo Pacto de Cristo, que se basó únicamente en su sacrificio en la cruz, que fue consumado y completado, una vez para siempre: nunca se repetirá. Esta carta no fue escrita para nadie fuera de este grupo de personas; o se hicieron seguidores de Cristo (sabemos que algunos de ellos lo hicieron), o continuaron bajo el Antiguo Pacto y fueron castigados con la muerte en la destrucción de Jerusalén y el Templo en el 70 d.C.

Podemos aplicar muchas lecciones espirituales para los cristianos de hoy; pero la interpretación de esta carta pertenece solo a los judíos del primer siglo hasta el 70 d.C. Cualquier otra interpretación te conducirá a errores doctrinales.

Capítulo 1.3: Mirad hacia atrás a la obra terminada de Cristo en la cruz para tu finalización espiritual (8:1 - 10:31)

§El complemento Introducción: Jesús es el Sumo Sacerdote del Nuevo Pacto en el Cielo, cual ha reemplazado al Antiguo Pacto (8:1 - 13)

¶Lo opuesto Jesús es el Sumo Sacerdote del verdadero Tabernáculo en el Cielo con la responsabilidad de ofrecer algo a Dios el Padre (8:1 - 5)

¶Lo opuesto El Antiguo Pacto fue reemplazado por el Nuevo Pacto, porque los judíos no continuaron en ello (8:6 - 13)

¶El complemento Pero si sigues ofreciendo sacrificios de animales, pronto enfrentarás las consecuencias de tu rebelión contra Dios (10:23 - 31)

Comentarios: Continuamos nuestro estudio del Capítulo 1.3 de Hebreos en el diseño de la Proporción Áurea con el último párrafo en la sección Cuerpo.

Recuerde del estudio anterior que el Apóstol Pablo está resumiendo todo lo que había explicado antes en los últimos dos párrafos de esta sección.

En la Conclusión, Pablo insta una vez más a estos judíos del primer siglo a abrazar a Cristo como su Mesías o afrontar las consecuencias.

¶Lo opuesto Jesús se convirtió en el sacrificio final por el pecado en la cruz para reemplazar el Antiguo con el Nuevo Pacto (10:1 - 14)

Lo opuesto Para la Ley Mosaica, teniendo una mera sombra de cosas buenas venir, y no la imagen misma de las cosas, con esos sacrificios (cual ofrecen año a año hasta perpetuidad), nunca puede hacer que los que vienen con ellos completen. Para entonces, ¿no habrían cesado ser ofrecido? Porque los adoradores, purgados una vez, no deberían haber tenido ninguna más conciencia de pecado.

Lo opuesto Pero, en esos sacrificios, hay un recordatorio otra vez de pecados cada año: porque es imposible que la sangre de toros y cabras pueda quitar los pecados.

El complemento Por lo tanto, cuando él entra en el mundo, dice, “Sacrificio y ofrenda, no deseaste; pero un cuerpo, usted ha perfeccionado para mí: porque en holocaustos y sacrificios por el pecado, no has tenido ningún placer. Entonces dije, ‘He aquí, vengo (en el volumen del Libro, ello está escrito de mí) a hacer tu voluntad, oh Dios.’”

El complemento Anteriormente cuando dijo, “Sacrificio y ofrenda, y ofrendas quemadas por el pecado no deseaste, ni tuviste placer en ello” (que son ofrecidos por la Ley). Entonces dijo, “He aquí, vengo a hacer tu voluntad, oh Dios.” Él quita el Primer Pacto, que él pueda establecer el Segundo: por el cual hemos sido santificados a través de la ofrenda del cuerpo de Jesucristo una vez para todo el tiempo.

Único Y todo sacerdote Levita está parado todos los días ministrando y ofreciendo muchas veces los mismos sacrificios, que nunca pueden quitar los pecados. Pero este hombre, después él había ofrecido uno sacrificio por los pecados hasta perpetuidad, se sentó a la diestra de Dios, desde ese momento en adelante esperando hasta que sus enemigos son hechos su escabel: porque con una sola ofrenda él ha perfeccionado hasta perpetuidad a los que están siendo santificados.

Comentarios: Hay tres tipos de santificación en la Biblia. Examinemos el primer tipo.

“por el cual hemos sido santificados a través de la ofrenda del cuerpo de Jesucristo una vez para todo el tiempo.”

Esta declaración es increíblemente poderosa e importante: Si hemos nacido de nuevo mediante el arrepentimiento y la fe en la Obra terminada de Cristo en la cruz, HEMOS SIDO SANTIFICADOS DE UNA VEZ PARA SIEMPRE EL TIEMPO.

En otras palabras, una vez que hemos sido salvados, ¡estamos siempre salvados! Amén.

“porque con una sola ofrenda él ha perfeccionado hasta perpetuidad a los que están siendo santificados.”

¡Nosotros (que hemos recibido a Jesucristo como nuestro Salvador personal) hemos sido PERFECCIONADOS HASTA LA PERPETUIDAD, por nuestra fe en su única ofrenda en la cruz!

En Soteriología (la doctrina de la Salvación), esto se llama “Santificación Posicional”.

“Santificación” significa ser apartados del pecado por Dios y limpiados de todo pecado dentro de nuestras almas por la Sangre de Jesucristo.

En otras palabras, en cuanto a nuestra posición con Dios, ¡ya no somos pecadores, sino santos! Cualquier persona que ha nacido de nuevo es un santo. ¡Nadie puede hacerse santo por las palabras de un Papa! ¡Esa es una broma de mal gusto y una abominación a la Palabra de Dios, mis amigos! Ningún ser humano tiene el poder de hacer santo a nadie. ¡Solo Jesús puede hacer eso!

1 Corintios 1:1-2: “Pablo, llamado a ser Apóstol de Jesús Cristo por la voluntad de Dios, y Sóstenes nuestro hermano; a la Asamblea de Dios que está en Corinto: a los santificados en Cristo Jesús (llamados santos), con todos los que en todo lugar invocan el Nombre de nuestro Señor Jesús Cristo (tanto suyo y nuestro)”

¿Lo ves? Si has sido santificado al recibir a Cristo como tu Salvador, ¡entonces eres un santo, según la Palabra de Dios! ¡No se necesita Papa! Amén.

La santificación que es nuestra cuando nos arrepentimos de nuestros pecados y ponemos nuestra confianza en la Obra Terminada de Cristo viene del Espíritu Santo de Dios, quien viene a nuestra vida para morar en nuestro cuerpo como su Templo. ¡La santidad del Espíritu SANTO y de Jesucristo, el Santo de Dios, se convierte en nuestra santidad! Amén.

La santificación posicional es la santificación que puede ocurrir solo una vez en nuestra vida: Dios nos transformó en hijos de Dios por nuestro arrepentimiento del pecado y la fe en la obra terminada de Cristo. Nunca podemos perder esta POSICIÓN ante Dios: una vez que nos convertimos en hijos de Dios por la fe en Cristo, SIEMPRE somos hijos de Dios por la fe en Cristo, ¡incluso si nos apartamos de Dios!

En otras palabras, si hemos recibido a Jesucristo como nuestro Salvador personal (y somos Nacidos de Nuevo a través de la fe en Él), entonces Dios, en su maravillosa gracia, nos considera como salvados permanentemente, aunque todavía somos imperfectos en este mundo. Hemos sido “comprados/redimidos por un precio”:

1 Corintios 6:20: “Porque ustedes fueron redimidos por un precio; glorificad, pues, a Dios en vuestro cuerpo y en vuestro espíritu, los cuales son de Dios.”

¡El precio fue la Expiación por nuestros pecados que hizo el Señor Jesucristo en la cruz del Calvario hace 2000 años!

“Ustedes fueron redimidos por un precio.”

Esto significa que los creyentes en Jesús nacidos de nuevo fueron una vez ESCLAVOS del pecado: no podíamos dejar de pecar y el pecado controlaba cada parte de nuestras vidas. ¡El pecado era nuestro amo de esclavos!

¡Pero Dios nos compró del mercado de esclavos del pecado con el Sacrificio de Cristo en la cruz una vez para siempre para convertirnos en sus siervos de justicia! ¡Y lo hizo porque nos arrepentimos de nuestros pecados y pusimos nuestra fe y esperanza de salvación única y completamente en Jesucristo! Amén.

Romanos 6:17-18: “Pero gracias hasta Dios, que ustedes erais los siervos del pecado; sino habéis obedecido desde corazón la forma de doctrina que os fue entregada. Siendo entonces hechos libres de la naturaleza pecaminosa, ustedes se convirtieron en los siervos de la justicia.”

Exactamente de la misma manera que se compraban esclavos de todas las razas en un mercado de esclavos, Dios te compró a ti y a mí en el mercado de esclavos del pecado, porque Éramos PECADORES por naturaleza y no podíamos dejar de pecar; pero Dios nos salvó cuando invocamos su Nombre, nos arrepentimos de nuestros pecados y pusimos nuestra fe en la Obra Terminada de Cristo en la cruz; ¡y nos convertimos en hijos de Dios por su gracia! Amén y amén.

El segundo tipo de Santificación se llama “Santificación Personal”.

Hebreos 10:14: “porque con una sola ofrenda él ha perfeccionado hasta perpetuidad a los que están siendo santificados.”

Nótese que en la primera parte de este texto:

“por [la Obra terminada de Cristo en la cruz] una sola ofrenda, Él ha perfeccionado hasta perpetuidad...”.

Esta es nuestra santificación posicional; Dios nos ha declarado justos, por nuestra fe en la Obra Terminada de Cristo.

Romanos 3:24-26: “siendo justificados gratuitamente por su gracia mediante la redención que es en Cristo Jesús; quien Dios ha exhibido públicamente, ser una propiciación a través de la fe en su sangre, declarar su justicia para la remisión de los pecados pasados, a través de la paciencia de Dios; para declarar, digo, en este tiempo su justicia; para que Dios sea justo, y el justificador de él quien cree en Jesús.”

En la segunda parte del texto, “los que están SIENDO SANTIFICADOS”: este es el segundo tipo de Santificación, que es nuestra santificación diaria desde el pecado.

I Juan 1:7: “Pero si andamos en la Luz, como él está en la Luz, tenemos comunión unos con otros; y la sangre de Jesucristo su Hijo constantemente nos limpia desde todo pecado.”

Hay varias cosas que Dios hace en la vida de un creyente nacido de nuevo en Jesucristo:

1) Note que la Biblia dice, “SI andamos en la Luz, como él está en la Luz”; ENTONCES “la Sangre de Cristo nos limpia constantemente de todo pecado”. Esto es Santificación Personal.

FUIMOS santificados de todos los pecados cuando nacimos de nuevo debido a nuestro arrepentimiento y fe en la Obra Terminada de Cristo (Santificación Posicional); pero para la santificación diaria o personal, necesitamos estar constantemente conscientes del pecado y arrepentirnos inmediatamente y pedirle al Señor Jesús que nos limpie de nuestros pecados con su preciosa Sangre. Esto mantendrá nuestros corazones en armonía con la voluntad de Dios y serán llenos de su Espíritu.

2) Dios obra en las vidas de sus hijos para guardarlos del pecado, y Él obra a través del Espíritu Santo para castigarnos cuando nos desviamos de Él hacia el pecado.

Hebrews 12:5-13: “Y ustedes ha olvidado la exhortación que habla a ustedes como a niños: “Hijo mío, no desprecies la disciplina de [Jehová], ni desmayes cuando seas reprendido por él: porque quien [Jehová] ama, él disciplina; y él azota a todo hijo que recibe.”

Si soportáis el castigo, Dios os trata como con hijos: porque ¿qué hijo es aquel a quien el padre no castiga? Pero si estáis sin castigo, del cual todos son hechos partícipes, entonces ustedes son ilegítimos, y no sois verdaderamente hijos de Dios.

Además, hemos tenido padres de nuestra carne que nos corrigieron; y les dimos reverencia. ¿No deberíamos, más bien, estar sujetos al Padre de los espíritus y vivir? Porque, verdaderamente, nos disciplinaron durante unos días después de su propio placer; pero él por nuestro bien espiritual, para que podamos ser partícipes de su santidad.

Ahora, ninguna disciplina parece ser gozosa por el momento, sino dolorosa; aún después, da fruto apacible de justicia a los que lo experimentan.

Por lo tanto, levantad las manos que cuelgan bajo, y las rodillas débiles; y haced caminos rectos para vuestros pies, a fin de que la parte coja no se puede dislocar, sino que más bien puede ser sanado.”

¡Esto nunca ocurre con un hijo del diablo! Si puedes cometer pecados y Dios nunca te castiga por esos pecados, ¡entonces eres un hijo del diablo y no perteneces a Jesús! Todavía estás en tus pecados e irás al Infierno cuando mueras.

Eres un hijo del diablo si nunca has nacido de nuevo: pecar es normal para ti; cada día y cada momento, estás pecando contra Dios, ¡y no puedes parar!

I Juan 3:7-9: “Hijitos, deja que ningún hombre los engañe; el que hace justicia es justa, incluso como Jesús es justo. El que peca continuamente es del diablo: porque el diablo peca desde el principio. El Hijo de Dios se manifestó para este propósito, que él podría destruir las obras del diablo. Cualquiera que es nacido de Dios no peca continuamente: porque su simiente permanece en él; y él no puede peca continuamente, porque él nació de Dios.”

¡Pero para un hijo de Dios nacido de nuevo, un pecado es como un terremoto en tu alma! Pierdes tu comunión con tu Salvador y Dios, y también pierdes tu paz con Dios. Tu vida se llena de maldad y angustia, porque te has apartado de tu Salvador. Si eso te describe, ¡entonces arrepiéntete ahora! No permita que el pecado se acumule en tu vida, pero inmediatamente confiese todos los pecados y entregue tu vida al Señor Jesucristo sin reservas.

Hay otros aspectos de la santificación personal que son muy importantes, pero no tenemos espacio en este estudio para examinarlos completamente, como la llenura del Espíritu Santo y la dedicación personal para servir al Señor. Los estudiaremos en la carta a los Romanos.

El Apóstol Pablo describió los tres tipos de Santificación en este texto:

2 Corintios 1:9-10: “Pero tuvimos en nosotros mismos una sentencia de muerte, para que no confiásemos en nosotros mismos, sino en Dios que resucita a los muertos; quien nos libró desde tan gran muerte, y libra ahora; en quien confiamos que él todavía nos librará;”

Ahora observe los tres tipos de santificación:

1) quien nos libró desde tan gran muerte

2) y libra ahora

3) en quien confiamos que él todavía nos librará;

“Libró” es otra palabra para “salvación” o “salvado”. Permítanme ampliar esos tres puntos de 2 Corintios:

1) Cuando recibimos a Cristo como nuestro Salvador, fuimos librados de la segunda Muerte en el Lago de Fuego. Esta es nuestra Santificación Posicional.

2) Estamos siendo liberados continuamente del poder del pecado hoy (o al menos Dios nos ha dado el poder de ser librados del pecado, pero solo si le entregamos nuestra vida y le permitimos tener su camino perfecto en cada parte de nuestra vida). Esta es nuestra Santificación Personal.

3) Él nos librará en el futuro cuando Cristo regrese para resucitar a todos sus hijos de la tumba y Él arrebatará a los que están vivos, para estar con Él en el Cielo para siempre. Esta es nuestra Santificación PERMANENTE.

¡Amén y alabado sea el Señor!

Estimado amigo, si usted es judío, musulmán, hindú, católico romano, testigo de Jehová, mormón, ateo, agnóstico o falso cristiano, nunca has experimentado la primera o segunda clase de santificación; ¡y nunca experimentarás el tercer tipo, que es la Vida Eterna en el Cielo! No conoces al único Dios verdadero, el Señor Jesucristo de la Biblia. Él es solo un concepto para ti, y probablemente uses su santo Nombre como una maldición en alguna ocasión.

Eres como el faraón de antaño:

Éxodo 5:2: “Y dijo Faraón: ¿Quién es Jehová, para que yo obedezca su voz y deje ir a Israel? No conozco a Jehová; ni dejaré ir a Israel.””

Oro para que te arrepientas de tu incredulidad en Él y te vuelvas a Jesucristo ahora mismo en arrepentimiento de tus pecados y tus dioses falsos, y creas en Él como tu Sacrificio final por los pecados para siempre.

“Señor Jesús, sé que he pecado contra TI. ¡No soy bueno y tú eres justo! Creo que moriste en la cruz por mis pecados, fuiste enterrado y resucitaste de entre los muertos al tercer día. Quiero que vengas a mi vida y seas mi Señor y Salvador. Por favor entra en mi corazón ahora mismo. Perdóname por todos mis pecados y salva mi alma. En el poderoso Nombre de Jesús, oro, ¡Amén!”
