^31:1The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him: ^31:2“What, my son?

“And what, the son of my womb?

“And what, the son of my vows?”

^31:3“Give not your strength to women,

“nor your ways to that which destroys kings.”

^31:4“It is not right for kings, O Lemuel, it is not right for kings to drink wine; nor for princes to drink strong drink, ^31:5lest they drink, and forget the Law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

^31:6“Give alcohol to him that is ready to perish, and wine to those that are of heavy hearts.

^31:7“Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.”

^31:8“Open your mouth for the mute: in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

^31:9“Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.”

“¿Y qué, hijo de mis votos?”.

^31:3“No des a las mujeres tu fuerza,

“ni tus caminos a lo que es para destruir a los reyes”.

^31:4“No es por los reyes, oh Lemuel, no es por los reyes beber vino, ni por los príncipes el licor, ^31:5para que no beban, y olviden la Ley, y perviertan el derecho de todos los hijos afligidos.

^31:6“Dad licor al desfallecido, y el vino a los de ánimo amargado.

^31:7“Déjele beber, y olvide su pobreza, y no recuerde más su miseria”.

^31:8“Abre tu boca por el mudo, en el juicio de todos los que están destinados a la muerte.

^31:9“Abre tu boca, juzga con justicia, y defiende el derecho del pobre y del menesteroso”.

^31:10“Mujer virtuosa, ¿quién la hallará? Porque su estima sobrepasa largamente a la de piedras preciosas.

^31:11“El corazón de su marido está en ella confiado, y no tendrá necesidad de despojo.

^31:12“Le dará ella bien y no mal, todos los días de su vida”.

^31:30“Engañosa es la gracia, y vana la hermosura; la mujer que teme a Jehová, ésa será alabada.
