^1:8First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is being proclaimed throughout the whole world.

^1:9For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the Gospel of his Son, that without ceasing, I make mention of you always in my prayers;

^1:10making request, if somehow, now finally, I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come to you.

^1:11For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, to the goal that you may be established;

^1:12that is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith of both you and me.

¶Opposite   Paul was not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ (1:13 - 17)

^1:13Now, I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, that many times I purposed to come to you (but was hindered until now), that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.

^1:14I am a debtor, both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians: both to the wise, and to the foolish.

^1:15So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the Gospel to you that are at Rome also.

^1:16For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, because it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes: to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile.

^1:17For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from saving faith to mature faith: as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

¶Complement   Sinners have suppressed the truth of the one true God Jehovah which is revealed in nature (1:18 - 23)

^1:18For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness;

^1:19because that which may be known of God is manifest in them: for God has shown it to them.

^1:20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his Eternal power and Deity, so that they are without excuse.

^1:21Because when they knew the one true God, they did not glorify him as God; neither were thankful;

but they became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened: ^1:22professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, ^1:23and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man, and birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things.

¶Complement   Because of their rejection of Him, God gave sinners up to the evil passions of their flesh (1:24 - 32)

^1:24Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves; ^1:25who exchanged the truth of God for the Lie, and worshiped and served the created thing more than the Creator, who is blessed into the Ages. Amen.

^1:26For this reason God gave them up to vile affections: for even their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature.

^1:27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men doing that which is shameful, and receiving in themselves that repayment of their error which was appropriate.

^1:28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not right; ^1:29being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, and maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, and malignity; being gossipers, ^1:30backbiters, haters of God, spiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents; ^1:31without understanding, promise breakers, without family affection, implacable, and unmerciful.

^1:32Who knowing the Judgment of God, that they who commit such things are worthy of death, not only continue to do them, but also approve of them that do them.

^2:1Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whosoever you are that judges: for when you judge another, you condemn yourself: for you that judge do the same things.

^2:2But we are sure that the Judgment of God is according to truth against them which do such things.

^2:3And do you think this, O man who judges them which do such things but do the same, that you shall escape the Judgment of God?

^2:4Or do you despise the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering:

not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

^2:10but glory, honor, and peace, to every man that works good (to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile).

^2:11For there is no respect of persons with God: ^2:12for as many as have sinned without the Law shall also perish without the Law;

and as many as have sinned in the Law shall be judged by the Law.

^2:13Because the hearers of the Law are not just before God,

but the doers of the Law shall be justified.

^2:14For when the Gentiles (who do not have the Law), do by nature the things contained in the Law, these, having not the Law, are a Law unto themselves; ^2:15who show the work of the Law written in their hearts (their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the meanwhile accusing or else excusing one another): ^2:16in the Day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my Gospel.

^1:13Ahora, no quiero que seáis ignorantes, hermanos, que muchas veces planeé venir a ustedes (pero estaba obstaculizado hasta ahora), para que yo también tenga algún fruto entre ustedes, incluso como entre los demás gentiles.

^1:14Soy deudor, tanto para los griegos como para los bárbaros: tanto a los sabios, y a los necios.

^1:15Así, tanto como haya en mi, estoy listo para predicar el evangelio a ustedes que estáis en Roma también.

^1:16porque no estoy avergonzado del evangelio de Cristo: porque es el poder de Dios hasta salvación a todos los que creen; al judío primeramente, y también al griego.

^1:17Porque en ella, la justicia de Dios se revela desde la fe salvadora a la fe madura, como está escrito, “El justo vivirá por la fe”.

^1:18Porque la ira de Dios se revela desde el Cielo contra toda impiedad e injusticia de los hombres, quienes suprimen la verdad en injusticia:

^1:19porque lo que puede ser conocido de Dios se manifiesta en ellos: porque Dios lo ha mostrado a ellos.

^1:20Porque las cosas invisibles de él desde la creación del mundo se ven claramente, siendo entendido por las cosas que se hacen; incluso su poder Eterno y Deidad, para que no tengan excusa.

^1:21Porque cuando conocieron al único Dios verdadero, no le glorificaron como a Dios; tampoco estaban agradecidos;

sino que se hicieron vanos en sus razonamientos, y su necio corazón se oscureció: ^1:22profesando a sí mismos ser sabios, se hicieron tontos, ^1:23y cambiaron la gloria del Dios incorruptible en una imagen hecha como un hombre corruptible, y aves, y bestias de cuatro patas, y cosas que se arrastran.

¶El complemento   Debido a su rechazo a Él, Dios entregó arriba a los pecadores a las malas pasiones de la carne de ellos (1:24 - 32)

^1:24mundicia a través de las concupiscencias de sus propios corazones, para deshonrar sus propios cuerpos entre ellos mismos; ^1:25quienes cambiaron la verdad de Dios por la mentira; y adoraron y sirvieron a lo cosa creada más que al Creador, quien es bendito hasta las edades. Amén.

^1:26Por esta razón, Dios los entregó a pasiones vergonzosas: porque aun sus mujeres cambiaron el uso natural en lo que es contra la naturaleza.

^1:27y igualmente también los hombres, dejando el uso natural de la mujer, se encendieron en su lujuria uno hacia el otro: hombres con hombres haciendo lo que es vergonzoso, y recibiendo en sí mismos la retribución de su error lo cual fue apropiado.

^1:28E incluso como no querían retener a Dios en su conocimiento, Dios los entregó a una mente reprobada, hacer esas cosas que no están bien; ^1:29estando llenos de toda injusticia, fornicación, maldad, avaricia y la malicia; lleno de envidia, asesinato, debate, engaño y malignidad; siendo chismosos, ^1:30calumniadores, aborrecedores de Dios, rencorosos, soberbios, jactanciosos, inventores de las cosas malvadas, desobedientes a los padres; ^1:31sin entendimiento, rompedores de promesas, sin cariño familiar, implacable, y sin misericordia.

^1:32Quienes conociendo el juicio de Dios, que los que hacen tales cosas son dignos de muerte, no solo seguir haciéndolos, sino también aprobar a los que los hacen.

¶Único   El hipócrita no puede escapar del justo juicio de Dios (2:1 - 4)

^2:1Por lo tanto, eres inexcusable, oh hombre, quienquiera tú seas que juzga: porque cuando juzgas a otro, tú condenas a ti mismo: para ti ese juez haz las mismas cosas.

^2:2Pero estamos seguros de que el Juicio de Dios es según verdad contra los que hacen tales cosas.

^2:3¿Y tú piensas esto, oh hombre, quien juzgas a los que hacen tales cosas pero hacen lo mismo, que tú escaparás del juicio de Dios?

^2:4¿O menospreciáis las riquezas de su bondad, paciencia y longanimidad:

no sabiendo que la bondad de Dios te guía al arrepentimiento?

§El complemento   Conclusión: Dios juzgará a cada persona según sus obras y según la Ley de Moisés (2:5 - 16)

^2:8Pero a los que son contenciosos y no obedecen la verdad, pero obedezcan la injusticia: indignación e ira, ^2:9tribulación y angustia sobre toda alma de hombre que hace el mal (del judío primeramente, y también del gentil);

^2:10pero gloria, honra, y paz a todo hombre que hace el bien (al judío primeramente, y también al gentil).

¶El complemento   Dios juzgará a cada persona por igual de acuerdo con la Ley de Moisés (2:11 - 16)

^2:11Porque no hay acepción de personas con Dios: ^2:12porque todos los que han pecado sin la Ley, también perecerán sin la Ley;

y todos los que han pecado en la Ley, será juzgado por la Ley.

^2:13Porque los oyentes de la Ley no son justos ante Dios;

sino los hacedores de la Ley serán justificados.

^2:14Porque cuando los gentiles (quien no tienen la Ley), hacen por naturaleza las cosas contenidas en la Ley, éstos, no teniendo la Ley, son Ley hasta sí mismos; ^2:15quien mostrar la obra de la Ley escrita en sus corazones (su conciencia también da testimonio, y sus pensamientos acusan o incluso defienden entre sí): ^2:16en el Día cuando Dios juzgará los secretos de los hombres por Jesucristo, según mi Evangelio.
