^11:7And they brought the colt to Jesus; and they cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him.

^11:8And many spread their garments in the road; and others cut down branches off the trees, and cast them in the road.

^11:9And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, “Hosanna! Blessed is he that comes in the Name of the Lord! ^11:10Blessed is the Kingdom of our father David, that comes in the Name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

^11:20And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots; ^11:21and Peter calling to remembrance says to him, “Master, behold, the fig tree which you cursed has withered away.”

^11:22And Jesus answering says to them, “Have the faith of God: ^11:23for truly I say to you, that whosoever shall say to this mountain, ‘Be removed, and be cast into the sea’; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he says shall come to pass: he shall have whatsoever he says.

^11:24“Therefore I say to you, whatsoever things you desire when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.”

^11:25“And when you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also which is in Heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

^11:26“But if you do not forgive; neither will your Father who is in Heaven forgive your trespasses.”

^11:30“The baptism of John: was it from Heaven, or of men? Answer me.” ^11:31And they reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we shall say, ‘From Heaven’, he will say, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’ ^11:32But if we shall say, ‘Of men’’ (they were afraid of the people: for all men counted John, that he was a true Prophet). ^11:33And they answered and said to Jesus, “We cannot tell.”

And Jesus answering says to them, “Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.”

^12:1And he began to speak to them by parables, “A certain man planted a vineyard; and set a hedge about it, and dug a place for the wine press, and built a tower; and he leased it out to tenant farmers, and went into a far country. ^12:2And at the season he sent a servant to the farmers, that he might receive from the farmers some of the fruit of the vineyard. ^12:3And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty. ^12:4And again he sent another servant to them; and they cast stones at him, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled. ^12:5And again he sent another, and they killed him; and many others: beating some, and killing some. ^12:6Therefore having yet one son, his well beloved, he sent him also last to them, saying, ‘They will reverence my son.’ ^12:7But those farmers said among themselves, ‘This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.’ ^12:8So they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard. ^12:9Therefore what shall the lord of the vineyard do?” They said, “He will come and destroy the farmers, and will give the vineyard to others.” ^12:10“And have you not read this Scripture, ‘The Stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner. ^12:11This was [Jehovah]’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?’”

^12:12And they wanted to arrest him, but were afraid of the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them. And they left him, and went their way.

But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, “Why do you tempt me? Bring me a denarius coin, that I may see it.” ^12:16And they brought it. And he says to them, “Whose is this image and inscription?” And they said to him, “Caesar’s.” ^12:17And Jesus answering said to them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s; and to God the things that are God’s.” And they marveled at him.

^12:18Then the Sadducees come to him, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying, ^12:19“Master, Moses wrote to us, ‘If a man’s brother dies, and leaves his wife behind him, and leaves no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.’ ^12:20Now there were seven brothers; and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed. ^12:21And the second took her, and died; neither did he leave any seed; and the third likewise. ^12:22And the seven had her, and left no seed; last of all the woman died also. ^12:23Therefore in the resurrection, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? For the seven had her to wife.” ^12:24And Jesus answering said to them, “Do you not therefore go astray, because you do not know the Scriptures; nor the power of God? ^12:25For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in Heaven.

^12:26“And as touching the dead, that they rise: have you not read in the Book of Moses, how in the bush God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?

^12:27“He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living; therefore you are greatly deceived.”

^12:34And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the Kingdom of God.” And no man after that dared to ask him anything.

And from where is he then his son?”

And the common people heard him gladly; ^12:38and he said to them in his doctrine, “Beware of the scribes, who love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces, ^12:39and the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts; ^12:40who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These shall receive greater damnation.”

^12:41And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury; and many that were rich cast in much.

^12:42And a certain poor widow came, and she threw in two lepton copper coins, which make a kodrantes.

^12:43And he called his disciples, and says to them, “Truly I say to you, that this poor widow has cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: ^12:44for they all cast in of their abundance. But she, out of her need, cast in all that she had, even all her living.”

^12:28Y uno de los escribas que los había oído disputar, y sabía que les había respondido bien, vino y le preguntó, “¿Cuál es el primer Mandamiento de todos?”. ^12:29Y Jesús le respondió, “El primer Mandamiento de todos es, ‘Oye, oh Israel, el Señor nuestro Dios, el Señor uno es. ^12:30Y amarás al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente, y con todas tus fuerzas’: éste es el principal Mandamiento. ^12:31Y el segundo es semejante a éste, ‘Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo’.

“No hay otro Mandamiento mayor que éstos”.

^12:32Entonces el escriba le dijo, “Bien, Maestro, verdad has dicho: porque hay uno Dios, y no hay otro fuera de él.

^12:33Y el amarle con todo el corazón, y con todo el entendimiento, y con toda el alma, y con todas las fuerzas, y amar al prójimo como a sí mismo, es más que todos los holocaustos y sacrificios”.

^12:34Y viendo Jesús que él había respondido sabiamente, le dijo, “No estás lejos del Reino de Dios”. Y ya ninguno osaba preguntarle.

¶El complemento   Jesús elogió el sacrificio de una viuda pobre (12:35 - 44)

^12:35Y enseñando en el Templo, respondió Jesús y dijo, “¿Cómo dicen los escribas que el Cristo es hijo de David? ^12:36Porque el mismo David dijo por el Espíritu Santo, ‘Dijo [Jehová] a mi Señor, ‘Siéntate a mi diestra, hasta que ponga tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies’’. ^12:37David mismo, por lo tanto, le llama Señor; ¿y desde dónde es él, entonces, su hijo?”.

Y el pueblo común le oía de buena gana. ^12:38Y les decía en su doctrina, “Guardaos de los escribas, que gustan de andar con vestiduras largas, y aman las salutaciones en las plazas, ^12:39y las primeras sillas en las sinagogas, y los primeros asientos en las cenas; ^12:40que devoran las casas de las viudas, y por pretexto hacen largas oraciones. Éstos recibirán mayor condenación”.

^12:41Y estando Jesús sentado delante del arca de la ofrenda, miraba cómo el pueblo echaba dinero en el arca; y muchos ricos echaban mucho.

^12:42Y vino una viuda pobre, y echó dos blancas, que es un cuadrante.

^12:43Entonces llamando a sus discípulos, les dijo, “Verdaderamente os digo que esta viuda pobre echó más que todos los que han echado en el arca: ^12:44porque todos han echado de lo que les sobra; pero ésta, de su pobreza echó todo lo que tenía, todo su sustento”.
