^8:9But there was a certain man, called Simon, who formerly in the same city practiced witchcraft; and he amazed the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one; ^8:10to whom they all gave attention, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the great power of God!”

^8:11And they listened to him, because for a long time he had enthralled them with witchcraft.

^8:12But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the Kingdom of God, and the Name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

^8:13Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip; and he wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

^8:17Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

^8:18And when Simon saw that through laying on of the Apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money; ^8:19saying, “Give me also this authority, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit.”

^8:20But Peter said to him, “Your money is going into perdition with you, because you have thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. ^8:21You have neither part nor lot in this matter: for your heart is not right in the sight of God. ^8:22Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours; and pray God, if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you: ^8:23for I perceive that you are in the gall of bitterness, and in the bondage of iniquity.” ^8:24Then Simon answered and said, “Pray to the Lord for me, that none of these things which you have spoken come upon me.”

^8:25And they, when they had testified and preached the Word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem; and they preached the Gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.

And, behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, ^8:28was returning; and sitting in his chariot, he read Isaiah the Prophet.

^8:29Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near, and join yourself to this chariot.” ^8:30And Philip ran there to him; and he heard him read the Prophet Isaiah; and he said, “Do you understand what you read?” ^8:31And he said, “How can I, unless some man should guide me?” And he asked Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

^8:32The place of the Scripture which he read was this: “He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb silent before his shearer, so he opened not his mouth. ^8:33In his humiliation his judgment was taken away. And who shall declare his generation? For his life is taken from the earth.”

^8:34And the eunuch answered Philip, and he said, “I ask you, of whom does the Prophet speak this? Of himself, or of some other man?” ^8:35Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same Scripture; and preached unto him Jesus.

^8:36And as they went on their way, they came to a certain water; and the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me to be baptized?” ^8:37And Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”

^8:38And he commanded the chariot to stand still; and they both went down into the water: both Philip, and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

^8:39And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, so that the eunuch saw him no more;

and he went on his way rejoicing.

^8:40But Philip was found at Azotus; and passing through, he preached in all the cities, until he came to Caesarea.

^9:1And Saul, still breathing out threats and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest; ^9:2and he asked from him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this Way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.

^9:3And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus; and suddenly there shined round about him a light from Heaven. ^9:4And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” ^9:5And he said, “Who are you, Lord?” And the Lord said, “I am Jesus whom you persecute; it is hard for you to kick against the ox goads.”

^9:6And he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what will you have me to do?” And the Lord said to him, “Arise, and go into the city; and it shall be told you what you must do.”

^9:7And the men who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.

^9:8And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man; but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus; ^9:9and he was without sight three days, and neither ate nor drank.

^9:10And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and the Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias.” And he said, “Behold, I am here, Lord.”

^9:11And the Lord said to him, “Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus: for, behold, he is praying, ^9:12and has seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.”

^9:13Then Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard by many of this man: how much evil he has done to your saints at Jerusalem; ^9:14and here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on your Name.” ^9:15But the Lord said to him, “Go your way: for he is a chosen vessel to me, to bear my Name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: ^9:16for I will show him what great things he must suffer for my Name’s sake.”

^9:17And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, “Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared to you in the way as you were coming, has sent me, that you might receive your sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

^9:18And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales; and he received sight at once, and arose, and was baptized. ^9:19And when he had received food, he was strengthened.

¶Unique   Saul immediately preached Christ in the synagogues of Damascus, and proved that Jesus is the Christ (9:19b - 22)

Then Saul was certain days with the disciples who were at Damascus.

^9:20And immediately he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

^9:21But all that heard him were amazed, and said, “Is not this he that destroyed them who called on this Name in Jerusalem;

and he came here for that purpose, that he might bring them bound to the chief priests?”

^9:22But Saul increased even more in strength; and he confounded the Jews who dwelt at Damascus, proving that this Jesus is the Christ.

but they were all afraid of him, and did not believe that he was a disciple.

^9:27But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the Apostles, and declared to them how he had seen the Lord in the road, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the Name of Jesus.

^9:28And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.

And he disputed against the Grecians; but they went about to slay him.

^9:30When the brethren knew this, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.

^9:31Then the Assemblies had rest throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria, and were strengthened; and, walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.

^8:20Pero Pedro le dijo, “Tu dinero va dentro a destrucción contigo, porque has pensado que el don de Dios se puede comprar con dinero. ^8:21No tienes ni parte ni lote en este asunto: porque tu corazón no está recto a los ojos de Dios. ^8:22Arrepiéntete, pues, de esta maldad tuya, y ruega a Dios, si quizás el pensamiento de tu corazón puede ser perdonado a usted: ^8:23porque percibo que estás en hiel de amargura y en esclavitud de iniquidad”. ^8:24Respondiendo entonces Simón, dijo, “Rogad ustedes por mí al Señor, que ninguna de estas cosas que habéis dicho, venga sobre mí”.

^8:25Y ellos, habiendo testificado y predicado la Palabra del Señor, se volvieron a Jerusalén, y en muchas aldeas de los samaritanos predicaron el Evangelio.

^8:34Y respondiendo el eunuco a Felipe, dijo, “Te ruego ¿de quién dice el Profeta esto? ¿De él mismo, o de algún otro?”. ^8:35Entonces Felipe abrió su boca, y comenzó en la misma Escritura, y él predicó hasta él a Jesús.

^8:39Y cuando subieron del agua, el Espíritu del Señor arrebató a Felipe, que el eunuco no le vio más;

y él fue en su camino gozoso.

^8:40Pero Felipe se halló en Azoto; y pasando, predicaba el Evangelio en todas las ciudades, hasta que llegó a Cesarea.

Y el Señor dijo, “Soy Jesús a quien tú persigues; dura cosa te es dar coces contra los aguijones”.

^9:6Y él, temblando y temeroso, dijo, “Señor, ¿qué quieres que yo haga?”. Y el Señor le dijo, “Levántate, y entra en la ciudad, y se te dirá lo que debes hacer”.

^9:7Y los hombres que iban con Saulo, se pararon atónitos, oyendo a la verdad la voz, pero sin ver a nadie.

^9:8Entonces Saulo se levantó de tierra, y abriendo los ojos, no veía a nadie; pero llevándole de la mano, lo trajeron a Damasco; ^9:9y estuvo tres días sin ver, y no comió ni bebió.

^9:11Y el Señor le dijo, “Levántate, y ve a la calle que se llama Derecha, y busca en casa de Judas a uno llamado Saulo, de Tarso: porque he aquí, él ora; ^9:12y ha visto en visión a un varón llamado Ananías, que entra y pone sus manos sobre él, para que recobre la vista”.

^9:13Entonces Ananías respondió, “Señor, he oído de muchos acerca de este hombre, de cuántos males ha hecho a tus santos en Jerusalén; ^9:14y aun aquí tiene autoridad de los príncipes de los sacerdotes para prender a todos los que invocan tu Nombre”. ^9:15Pero le dijo el Señor, “Ve: porque instrumento escogido me es éste, para que lleve mi Nombre en presencia de los Gentiles, y de reyes, y de los hijos de Israel: ^9:16porque yo le mostraré cuánto le es necesario padecer por mi Nombre”.

^9:17Y Ananías fue y entró en la casa, y poniendo sobre él las manos, dijo, “Hermano Saulo, el Señor Jesús, que te apareció en el camino por donde venías, me ha enviado para que recobres la vista y seas lleno del Espíritu Santo”.

^9:18Y al momento le cayeron de los ojos como escamas, y al instante recobró la vista; y levantándose, fue bautizado. ^9:19Y habiendo tomado alimento, recobró fuerzas.

¶Único   Saulo inmediatamente predicó a Cristo en las sinagogas de Damasco, y probó que Jesús es el Cristo (9:19b - 22)

Y estuvo Saulo por algunos días con los discípulos que estaban en Damasco.

^9:22Pero Saulo mucho más se esforzaba, y confundía a los judíos que moraban en Damasco, demostrando que éste Jesús es el Cristo.

^9:27Entonces Bernabé, tomándole, le trajo a los Apóstoles, y les contó cómo había visto al Señor en el camino, y que él le había hablado, y cómo en Damasco había predicado con denuedo en el Nombre de Jesús.
