^7:2Daniel spoke and said, “I saw in my vision by night; and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.

^7:3And four great beasts came up from the sea, each one different from the other. ^7:4The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings. I beheld until its wings were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made to stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.

^7:5And behold another beast, a second, like a bear. And it raised itself upon one side, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth; and they said this to it: ‘Arise, devour much flesh.’

^7:6After this I beheld; and lo another, like a leopard; which had upon its back four wings of a bird. The beast also had four heads; and dominion was given to it.

^7:7After this, I saw in the night visions; and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and mighty, and very powerful; and it had great iron teeth. It devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet. And it was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.

^7:8I considered the horns; and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots; and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

^7:9I beheld until the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days sat, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool. His throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels like burning fire. ^7:10A flood of fire issued and came forth from before him; many thousands ministered to him, and countless millions stood before him; the Judgment was set, and the Books were opened.

^7:11I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spoke. I beheld even until the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. ^7:12As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away, yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

^7:13I saw in the night visions; and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of Heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. ^7:14And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

^7:19Then I wanted to know the truth of the fourth beast, which was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of bronze, which devoured, broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; ^7:20and of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spoke very great things, whose look was more stout than his companions.

^7:21I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them, ^7:22until the Ancient of days came. And Judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the Kingdom.

^7:23He said this: ‘The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be different from all kingdoms, and he shall devour the entire earth. And he shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. ^7:24And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise; and another shall arise after them, and he shall be different from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. ^7:25And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall afflict the saints of the most High. And he shall think to change times and laws; and they shall be given into his hand, until a time and times and the dividing of time.

^7:26But the Judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it until the End. ^7:27And the Kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the Kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom; and all dominions shall serve and obey him. ^7:28Until now is the end of the matter.’”

As for me Daniel, my thoughts troubled me much; and my countenance changed in me; but I kept the matter in my heart.

^8:1In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar, a vision appeared to me, even to me Daniel, after that which appeared to me at the first.

^8:2And I saw in a vision: and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was at Shushan in the palace, which is in the province of Elam.

And I saw in a vision; and I was by the river of Ulai.

^8:3Then I lifted up my eyes; and I saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns; and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other; and the higher came up last.

^8:4I saw the ram pushing westward, northward, and southward, so that no beasts might stand before him; neither were there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.

^8:5And as I was considering, behold, a male goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth; and he did not touch the ground; and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.

^8:6And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river; and he ran to him in the fury of his power; ^8:7and I saw him come close to the ram, and he was moved with bitterness against him; and he smote the ram, and broke his two horns.

And there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him; and there was no one that could deliver the ram out of his hand; ^8:8therefore the male goat became very great.

And when he was strong, the great horn was broken;

and in its place four notable ones came up toward the four winds of heaven.

^8:9And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which became exceedingly great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land. ^8:10And it grew great, even to the army of Heaven; and it cast down some of the army and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.

^8:11Moreover, he magnified himself even to the prince of the army; and by him the daily Temple sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his Sanctuary was cast down. ^8:12And an army was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression; and it cast the truth down to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered.

^8:13Then I heard one saint speaking;

and another saint said to that certain saint which spoke, “How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation: to give both the Sanctuary and the army to be trampled under foot?”

^8:14And he said to me, “Until two thousand and three hundred evenings and mornings; then the Sanctuary shall be cleansed.”

^8:23And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors have come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. ^8:24And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice; and he shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. ^8:25And also through his knowledge he shall cause deceit to prosper in his hand. And he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many; he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes, but he shall be broken without hand.

^8:26And the vision of the evening and the morning, which was told, is true; therefore shut up the vision: for it shall be for many days.”

^8:27And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but no one understood it.

^7:23Dijo así, ‘La cuarta bestia será un cuarto reino en la tierra, el cual será diferente de todos los otros reinos, y a toda la tierra devorará, y la hollará, y la despedazará. ^7:24Y los diez cuernos significan que de aquel reino se levantarán diez reyes; y tras ellos se levantará otro, el cual será mayor que los primeros, y a tres reyes subyugará. ^7:25Y hablará palabras contra el Altísimo, y a los santos del Altísimo afligirá, y pensará en mudar los tiempos y la ley; y serán entregados en su mano hasta un tiempo, y tiempos, y el medio de un tiempo.

^7:26Pero se sentará el Juez, y le quitarán su dominio, para que sea destruido y arruinado hasta el extremo; ^7:27y que el reino, el dominio y la majestad de los reinos debajo de todo el cielo, sea dado al pueblo de los santos del Altísimo; cuyo reino es reino eterno, y todos los dominios le servirán y obedecerán’”. ^7:28Hasta aquí fue el fin del asunto.

En cuanto a mí, Daniel, mucho me turbaron mis pensamientos, y mi rostro se demudó, pero guardé el asunto en mi corazón.

^8:1En el año tercero del reinado del rey Belsasar, me apareció una visión a mí, Daniel, después de aquella que me había aparecido antes.

vi, pues, en visión, estando junto al río Ulai.

^8:3Y alcé mis ojos, y miré, y he aquí un carnero que estaba delante del río, el cual tenía dos cuernos; y los dos cuernos eran altos, pero uno era más alto que el otro; y el más alto subió a la postre.

^8:4Vi que el carnero hería con los cuernos al poniente, al norte, y al sur, y que ninguna bestia podía mantenerse de pie delante de él, ni había quien librara de su mano; y hacía conforme a su voluntad, y se engrandecía.

Y no había poder en el carnero para enfrentarse a él, pero él le arrojó al suelo y le pisoteó; y no había nadie que pudiera salvar el carnero de su mano; ^8:8por lo tanto el macho cabrío se volvió muy poderoso.

Y cuando era fuerte, aquel gran cuerno fue quebrado;

y en su lugar subieron otros cuatro cuernos notables hacia los cuatro vientos del cielo.

^8:11Aun contra el príncipe de la fortaleza se engrandeció, y por él fue quitado el continuo sacrificio, y el lugar de su Santuario fue echado por tierra. ^8:12Y el ejército le fue entregado a causa de la prevaricación sobre el continuo sacrificio; y echó por tierra la verdad, e hizo cuanto quiso, y prosperó.

^8:13Y oí a un santo que hablaba;

y otro de los santos dijo a aquél que hablaba, “¿Hasta cuándo durará la visión del continuo sacrificio, y la prevaricación asoladora que pone el Santuario y el ejército para ser hollados?”.

^8:14Y él me dijo, “Hasta dos mil trescientas tardes y mañanas; entonces el Santuario será purificado”.

^8:22Ahora que cuerno estando roto, mientras cuatro fueron levantaron en su lugar, significa que cuatro reinos se levantarán fuera de la nación, pero no en su poder.

^8:23Y en el último tiempo de su reino, cuando los transgresores hayan llegado a su colmo, se levantará un rey altivo de rostro, y entendido en enigmas. ^8:24Y su poder se fortalecerá, pero no por su propio poder; y destruirá maravillosamente, y prosperará; y hará arbitrariamente, y destruirá a los fuertes y al pueblo de los santos. ^8:25Y con su sagacidad hará prosperar el engaño en su mano; y en su corazón se engrandecerá, y con paz destruirá a muchos; y contra el Príncipe de los príncipes se levantará; pero sin mano será quebrantado.

^8:26Y la visión de la tarde y la mañana que está dicha, es verdadera; y tú guarda la visión: porque es para muchos días”.

^8:27Y yo Daniel fui quebrantado, y estuve enfermo algunos días; y cuando convalecí, atendí el asunto del rey; pero estaba espantado acerca de la visión, y no había quien la entendiese.
