§Unique Introduction: Jehovah gave Statutes for a vow of a woman, and the power of her father or husband to overrule it (30:1 - 16)

^30:3If a woman also vows a vow to Jehovah, and binds herself by a bond, being in her father's house in her youth, ^30:4and her father hears her vow, and her bond with which she has bound her soul, and her father shall hold his peace at her, then all her vows shall stand, and every bond with which she has bound her soul shall stand.

^30:13Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void. ^30:14But if her husband altogether holds his peace at her from day to day, then he establishes all her vows, or all her bonds, which are upon her. He confirms them, because he held his peace at her in the day that he heard them. ^30:15But if he shall in any way make them void, after that he has heard them, then he shall bear her iniquity.’”

§Complement Body: The army of Israel conquered the cities of Midian, and took their plunder; and it was divided among the tribes (31:1 - 54)

^31:28And levy a tax to Jehovah of the men of war who went out to battle: one portion of five hundred, both of the persons, and of the beef cattle, and of the donkeys, and of the sheep; ^31:29take it of their half, and give it to Eleazar the priest, for a heave offering of Jehovah.

^32:6And Moses said to the children of Gad and to the children of Reuben, “Shall your brethren go to war; and shall you sit here? ^32:7And why do you discourage the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which Jehovah has given them? ^32:8This is what your fathers did, when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea to see the land: ^32:9for when they went up to the valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land which Jehovah had given them. ^32:10And Jehovah's anger was kindled the same time, and he swore, saying, ^32:11‘Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, because they have not wholly followed me; ^32:12except Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, and Joshua the son of Nun: for they have fully followed Jehovah.’ ^32:13And Jehovah's anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight of Jehovah, was consumed. ^32:14And, behold, you have risen up in your fathers' place, an increase of sinful men, to increase yet the fierce anger of Jehovah toward Israel: ^32:15for if you turn away from after him, he will yet again leave them in the wilderness; and you shall destroy all these people.”

^32:16And they came near to him, and said, “We will build sheepfolds here for our livestock, and cities for our little ones; ^32:17but we ourselves will go ready armed before the children of Israel, until we have brought them to their place; and our little ones shall dwell in the fortified cities because of the inhabitants of the land. ^32:18We will not return to our houses, until every man of the children of Israel has inherited his inheritance: ^32:19for we will not inherit with them on the other side of Jordan, or forward, because our inheritance has fallen to us on this side of Jordan eastward.”

^32:25And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben spoke to Moses, saying, “Your servants will do as my lord commands. ^32:26Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our cattle, shall be there in the cities of Gilead; ^32:27but your servants will pass over, every man armed for war, before Jehovah to battle, as my lord says.”

¶Complement Moses granted Reuben, Gad, and 1/2 of Manasseh possession of the lands of the former kingdoms of Sihon and Og (32:28 - 42)

¶El complemento Rubén y Gad prometieron ayudar a las otras tribus de Israel a conquistar Canaán a cambio de la tierra al este del Jordán (32:1 - 27)

^32:1Y los hijos de Rubén y los hijos de Gad tenían una muy grande muchedumbre de ganado; los cuales viendo la tierra de Jazer y de Galaad, les pareció el país lugar de ganado. ^32:2Y vinieron los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén, y hablaron a Moisés, y a Eleazar el sacerdote, y a los príncipes de la congregación, diciendo, ^32:3“Atarot, y Dibón, y Jazer, y Nimra, y Hesbón, y Eleale, y Sabán, y Nebo, y Beón, ^32:4la tierra que Jehová hirió delante de la congregación de Israel, es tierra de ganado, y tus siervos tienen ganado. ^32:5Por tanto,” dijeron, “si hemos hallado gracia en tus ojos, que se dé esta tierra a tus siervos en heredad, y no nos hagas pasar el Jordán”.

^32:6Y respondió Moisés a los hijos de Gad y a los hijos de Rubén, “¿Irán vuestros hermanos a la guerra, y ustedes os quedaréis sentados aquí? ^32:7¿Y por qué desanimáis el corazón de los hijos de Israel, para que no pasen a la tierra que les ha dado Jehová? ^32:8Así hicieron vuestros padres, cuando los envié desde Cades-barnea para que viesen la tierra. ^32:9Que subieron hasta el valle de Escol, y después que vieron la tierra, desanimaron el corazón de los hijos de Israel, para que no viniesen a la tierra que Jehová les había dado. ^32:10Y la ira de Jehová se encendió entonces, y juró diciendo, ^32:11‘Ninguno de los varones que subieron de Egipto de veinte años para arriba, verá la tierra por la cual juré a Abraham, Isaac, y Jacob, por cuanto no fueron perfectos en pos de mí; ^32:12excepto Caleb, hijo de Jefone cenezeo, y Josué hijo de Nun, que fueron perfectos en pos de Jehová’. ^32:13Y el furor de Jehová se encendió en Israel, y los hizo andar errantes cuarenta años por el desierto, hasta que fue acabada toda aquella generación, que había hecho mal delante de Jehová. ^32:14Y he aquí ustedes habéis sucedido en lugar de vuestros padres, prole de hombres pecadores, para añadir aún a la ira de Jehová contra Israel. ^32:15Si os volviereis de en pos de él, él volverá otra vez a dejaros en el desierto, y destruiréis a todo este pueblo”.

^32:16Entonces ellos se acercaron a él y dijeron, “Edificaremos aquí majadas para nuestro ganado, y ciudades para nuestros niños; ^32:17y nosotros nos armaremos, e iremos con diligencia delante de los hijos de Israel, hasta que los metamos en su lugar; y nuestros niños se quedarán en las ciudades fortificadas a causa de los moradores del país. ^32:18No volveremos a nuestras casas hasta que los hijos de Israel posean cada uno su heredad: ^32:19porque no tomaremos heredad con ellos al otro lado del Jordán ni adelante, por cuanto tendremos ya nuestra heredad a este lado del Jordán al oriente”.

^32:20Entonces les respondió Moisés, “Si lo hiciereis así, si os apercibiereis para ir delante de Jehová a la guerra, ^32:21y todos ustedes pasáis armados el Jordán delante de Jehová, hasta que haya echado a sus enemigos de delante de sí, ^32:22y sea el país sojuzgado delante de Jehová; luego volveréis, y seréis libres de culpa para con Jehová, y para con Israel; y esta tierra será vuestra en heredad delante de Jehová. ^32:23Pero si así no lo hiciereis, he aquí habréis pecado contra Jehová; y sabed que os alcanzará vuestro pecado. ^32:24Edificaos ciudades para vuestros niños, y majadas para vuestras ovejas, y haced lo que ha salido de vuestra boca”.

^32:25Y hablaron los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén a Moisés, diciendo, “Tus siervos harán como mi señor ha mandado. ^32:26Nuestros niños, nuestras esposas, nuestros ganados, y todas nuestras bestias, estarán ahí en las ciudades de Galaad; ^32:27pero tus siervos, armados todos para la guerra, pasarán delante de Jehová a la guerra, de la manera que mi señor dice”.

¶El complemento Moisés concedió a Rubén, Gad y la mitad de Manasés la posesión de las tierras de los antiguos reinos de Sehón y Og (32:28 - 42)

^32:28Entonces los encomendó Moisés a Eleazar el sacerdote, y a Josué hijo de Nun, y a los príncipes de los padres de las tribus de los hijos de Israel. ^32:29Y les dijo Moisés, “Si los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén, pasaren con ustedes el Jordán, armados todos de guerra delante de Jehová, luego que el país fuere sojuzgado delante de ustedes, les daréis la tierra de Galaad en posesión: ^32:30pero si no pasaren armados con ustedes, entonces tendrán posesión entre ustedes en la tierra de Canaán”.

^32:33Así les dio Moisés a los hijos de Gad y a los hijos de Rubén, y a la media tribu de Manasés hijo de José, el reino de Sehón rey amorreo, y el reino de Og rey de Basán, la tierra con sus ciudades y términos, las ciudades del país alrededor. ^32:34Y los hijos de Gad edificaron a Dibón, Atarot, Aroer, ^32:35Atrot-sofan, Jazer, Jogbeha, ^32:36Bet-nimra y a Bet-arán; ciudades fortificadas, y también majadas para ovejas.

^32:37Y los hijos de Rubén edificaron a Hesbón, Eleale, Quiriataim, ^32:38Nebo, Baal-meón (cambiados los nombres) y a Sibma; y pusieron nombres a las ciudades que edificaron.

^32:39Y los hijos de Maquir hijo de Manasés fueron a Galaad, y la tomaron, y echaron al amorreo que estaba en ella. ^32:40Y Moisés dio Galaad a Maquir hijo de Manasés, el cual habitó en ella. ^32:41También Jair hijo de Manasés fue y tomó sus aldeas, y les puso por nombre Havot-jair. ^32:42Asimismo Noba fue y tomó a Kenat y sus aldeas, y le llamó Noba, conforme a su nombre.
