¶Complement   Jehovah removed the cloud from the Tabernacle and the children of Israel departed from the mountain of Sinai (10:11 - 28)

^10:11And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from off the Tabernacle of the Testimony. ^10:12And the children of Israel took their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai. And the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran. ^10:13And they first took their journey according to the command of Jehovah, by the hand of Moses.

^10:14In the first place went the standard of the camp of the children of Judah according to their armies; and over his army was Nahshon the son of Amminadab. ^10:15And over the army of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethaneel the son of Zuar. ^10:16And over the army of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon. ^10:17And the Tabernacle was taken down. And the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari set forward, carrying the Tabernacle.

^10:18And the standard of the camp of Reuben set forward according to their armies; and over his army was Elizur the son of Shedeur. ^10:19And over the army of the tribe of the children of Simeon was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai. ^10:20And over the army of the tribe of the children of Gad was Eliasaph the son of Deuel. ^10:21And the Kohathites set forward, carrying the Sanctuary. And their brethren set up the Tabernacle before they arrived.

^10:22And the standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set forward according to their armies; and over his army was Elishama the son of Ammihud. ^10:23And over the army of the tribe of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur. ^10:24And over the army of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gideoni.

^10:25And the standard of the camp of the children of Dan set forward, which was the rear guard of all the camps throughout their armies; and over his army was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai. ^10:26And over the army of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ocran. ^10:27And over the army of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan. ^10:28Thus were the journeys of the children of Israel according to their armies, when they set forward.

¶Opposite   Moses invited Hobab, his brother-in-law, to join Israel on their journey to the Promised Land (10:29 - 36)

^10:29And Moses said to Hobab (the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses' father-in-law), “We are journeying unto the place of which Jehovah said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will do you good: for Jehovah has spoken good concerning Israel.” ^10:30And he said to him, “I will not go; but I will depart to my own land, and to my kindred.”

^10:31And he said, “Please do not leave us; forasmuch as you know how we are to camp in the wilderness; and you may be to us instead of eyes.

^10:32And it shall be, if you go with us, indeed, it shall be, that what goodness Jehovah shall do to us, the same will we do to you.”

^10:33And they went from the mountain of Jehovah, a journey of three days; and the Ark of the Covenant of Jehovah went before them in the three days' journey, to search out a resting place for them. ^10:34And the cloud of Jehovah was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.

^10:35And it came to pass, when the Ark set forward, that Moses said, “Rise up, Jehovah; and let your enemies be scattered; and let them that hate you flee before you.” ^10:36And when it rested, he said, “Return, O Jehovah, to the many thousands of Israel.”

¶Opposite   Moses prayed for the people unto Jehovah, and the fire of his wrath was quenched (11:1 - 3)

^11:1And when the people complained, it displeased Jehovah.

And Jehovah heard it, and his anger was kindled; and the fire of Jehovah burned among them; and it consumed them that were in the outskirts of the camp.

^11:2And the people cried to Moses;

and Moses prayed to Jehovah; and the fire was quenched.

^11:3And he called the name of the place “Taberah”, because the fire of Jehovah burned among them.

§Complement   Conclusion: Jehovah gave Moses 70 elders of Israel; and Jehovah sent meat for the people to eat, with his Judgment (11:4 - 35)

^11:4And the mixed multitude that was among them began to lust. And the children of Israel also wept again, and said, “Who shall give us flesh to eat? ^11:5We remember the fish, which we freely ate in Egypt; also the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic. ^11:6But now our soul has dried away; there is nothing at all, other than this manna, before our eyes.” ^11:7And the manna was like coriander seed, and its color as the color of bdellium. ^11:8And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a mortar, and baked it in pans, and made cakes of it; and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil. ^11:9And when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell upon it.

^11:10Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent; and the anger of Jehovah was kindled greatly; Moses also was displeased. ^11:11And Moses said to Jehovah, “Why have you afflicted your servant? And why have I not found favor in your sight, that you lay the burden of all this people upon me? ^11:12Have I conceived all this people? Have I begotten them, that you should say to me, ‘Carry them in your bosom, as a nursing father carries the sucking child’, to the land which you swore to their fathers? ^11:13From where should I have flesh to give to all this people? For they weep to me, saying, ‘Give us flesh, that we may eat.’ ^11:14I am not able to carry all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me. ^11:15And if you deal this way with me, please kill me out of hand, if I have found favor in your sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.”

^11:16And Jehovah said to Moses, “Gather to me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them to the Tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with you. ^11:17And I will come down and talk with you there; and I will take of the Spirit which is upon you, and will put it upon them. And they shall carry the burden of the people with you, that you do not carry it yourself alone.

^11:18And say to the people, ‘Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow, and you shall eat flesh: for you have wept in the ears of Jehovah, saying, ‘Who shall give us flesh to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.’ Therefore Jehovah will give you flesh, and you shall eat. ^11:19You shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days; neither ten days, nor twenty days; ^11:20but even a whole month, until it comes out at your nostrils, and it is loathsome to you; because you have despised Jehovah which is among you, and have wept before him, saying, ‘Why did we come forth out of Egypt?’”

^11:21And Moses said, “The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand soldiers; and you have said, ‘I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.’ ^11:22Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to satisfy them? Or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to satisfy them?” ^11:23And Jehovah said to Moses, “Has the hand of Jehovah become short? You shall see now whether my Word shall come to pass to you or not.”

¶Complement   Jehovah sent the people meat to eat, with his Judgment (11:24 - 35)

^11:24And Moses went out, and told the people the words of Jehovah. And he gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people; and he set them round about the Tabernacle. ^11:25And Jehovah came down in a cloud, and spoke to him. And he took of the Spirit that was upon him, and gave it to the seventy elders. And it came to pass, that when the Spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.

^11:26But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad. And the Spirit rested upon them (and they were of them that were written, but did not go out to the Tabernacle); and they prophesied in the camp. ^11:27And a young man ran, and told Moses, and said, ‘Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp!’ ^11:28And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men, answered and said, “My lord Moses, forbid them.” ^11:29And Moses said to him, “Do you envy for my sake? Would God that all Jehovah's people were Prophets, and that Jehovah would put his Spirit upon them!” ^11:30And Moses went into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.

^11:31And there went forth a wind from Jehovah, and brought quails from the sea; and he let them fall by the camp, as it were a day's journey on this side, and as it were a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth. ^11:32And the people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails; he that gathered least gathered ten homers. And they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp.

^11:33And while the flesh was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, the wrath of Jehovah was kindled against the people; and Jehovah smote the people with a very great plague. ^11:34And he called the name of that place “Kibroth-hattaavah”, because there they buried the people that lusted.

^11:35And the people journeyed from Kibroth-hattaavah to Hazeroth; and they stayed at Hazeroth.

^10:18Luego comenzó a marchar la bandera del campamento de Rubén por sus escuadrones; y Elisur, hijo de Sedeur, estaba sobre su ejército. ^10:19Y sobre el ejército de la tribu de los hijos de Simeón, Selumiel hijo de Zurisadai. ^10:20Y sobre el ejército de la tribu de los hijos de Gad, Eliasaf hijo de Dehuel. ^10:21Luego comenzaron a marchar los Coatitas llevando el Santuario; y entre tanto que llegaban, los otros acondicionaron el Tabernáculo.

^10:22Después comenzó a marchar la bandera del campamento de los hijos de Efraín por sus escuadrones: y Elisama, hijo de Amiud, era sobre su ejército. ^10:23Y sobre el ejército de la tribu de los hijos de Manasés, Gamaliel hijo de Pedasur. ^10:24Y sobre el ejército de la tribu de los hijos de Benjamín, Abidán hijo de Gedeón.

^10:29Entonces dijo Moisés a Hobab, hijo de Reuel madianita, su suegro, “Nosotros vamos hacia el lugar del cual Jehová ha dicho, ‘Yo os lo daré’. Ven con nosotros, y te haremos bien: porque Jehová ha hablado bien respecto a Israel”. ^10:30Y él le respondió, “Yo no iré, sino que me marcharé a mi tierra y a mi parentela”.

^10:31Y él le dijo, “Te ruego que no nos dejes: porque tú sabes dónde debemos acampar en el desierto, y nos serás en lugar de ojos.

^10:32Y será, que si vinieres con nosotros, cuando tuviéremos el bien que Jehová nos ha de hacer, nosotros te haremos bien”.

^10:33Así partieron del monte de Jehová, camino de tres días; y el Arca del Pacto de Jehová fue delante de ellos camino de tres días, buscándoles lugar de descanso. ^10:34Y la nube de Jehová iba sobre ellos de día, desde que partieron del campamento.

^10:35Y fue, que al moverse el Arca, Moisés decía, “Levántate, Jehová, y sean disipados tus enemigos, y huyan de tu presencia los que te aborrecen”. ^10:36Y cuando ella asentaba, decía, “Vuelve, Jehová, a los millares de millares de Israel”.

¶Lo opuesto   Moisés oró por el pueblo a Jehová, y el fuego de su ira fue apagada (11:1 - 3)

^11:1Y aconteció que el pueblo se quejó, a oídos de Jehová.

Y lo oyó Jehová, y se enardeció su furor, y se encendió en ellos fuego de Jehová y consumió a los que estaban en un extremo del campamento.

^11:2Entonces el pueblo dio voces a Moisés;

y Moisés oró a Jehová, y el fuego se extinguió.

^11:3Y llamó a aquel lugar “Tabera”, porque el fuego de Jehová se encendió en ellos.

^11:4Y la multitud de raza mixta que había entre ellos tuvo un vivo deseo, y los hijos de Israel también volvieron a llorar y dijeron, “¡Quién nos diera a comer carne! ^11:5Nos acordamos del pescado que comíamos de balde en Egipto, de los pepinos, y de los melones, y de las verduras, y de las cebollas, y de los ajos. ^11:6Y ahora nuestra alma se seca; que nada sino maná ven nuestros ojos”. ^11:7Y era el maná como semilla de cilantro, y su color como color de bedelio. ^11:8Y el pueblo se esparcía y lo recogía, y lo molía en molinos o lo majaba en morteros, y lo cocía en caldera, o hacía de él tortas; y su sabor era como sabor de aceite nuevo. ^11:9Y cuando descendía el rocío sobre el campamento de noche, el maná descendía sobre él.

^11:10Y oyó Moisés al pueblo, que lloraba por sus familias, cada uno a la puerta de su tienda; y el furor de Jehová se encendió en gran manera; también pareció mal a Moisés. ^11:11Y dijo Moisés a Jehová, “¿Por qué has hecho mal a tu siervo? ¿Y por qué no he hallado gracia en tus ojos, que has puesto la carga de todo este pueblo sobre mí? ^11:12¿Concebí yo a todo este pueblo? ¿Lo engendré yo, para que me digas, ‘Llévalo en tu seno, como lleva la que cría al que mama’, a la tierra de la cual juraste a sus padres? ^11:13¿De dónde tomaría yo carne para dar a todo este pueblo? Porque lloran a mí, diciendo, ‘Danos carne que comamos’. ^11:14No puedo yo solo soportar a todo este pueblo, pues es demasiado pesado para mí. ^11:15Y si así lo haces tú conmigo, yo te ruego que me des muerte, si he hallado gracia en tus ojos; y que yo no vea mi mal”.

^11:16Entonces Jehová dijo a Moisés, “Júntame setenta varones de los ancianos de Israel, que tu sabes que son ancianos del pueblo y sus principales; y tráelos a la puerta del Tabernáculo de la congregación, y esperen allí contigo. ^11:17Y yo descenderé y hablaré allí contigo; y tomaré del espíritu que está en ti, y lo pondré en ellos; y llevarán contigo la carga del pueblo, y no la llevarás tú solo.

^11:18Y dirás al pueblo, ‘Santificaos para mañana, y comeréis carne. Pues que habéis llorado en oídos de Jehová, diciendo, ‘¡Quién nos diera a comer carne! ¡Cierto mejor nos iba en Egipto!’ Jehová, pues, os dará carne, y comeréis. ^11:19No comeréis un día, ni dos días, ni cinco días, ni diez días, ni veinte días; ^11:20sino hasta un mes de tiempo, hasta que os salga por las narices, y os sea en aborrecimiento; por cuanto menospreciasteis a Jehová que está en medio de ustedes, y llorasteis delante de él, diciendo, ‘¿Para qué salimos acá de Egipto?’”

^11:21Entonces dijo Moisés, “Seiscientos mil de a pie es el pueblo en medio del cual yo estoy; y tú dices, ‘Les daré carne, y comerán el tiempo de un mes’. ^11:22¿Se han de degollar para ellos ovejas y bueyes que les basten? ¿O se juntarán para ellos todos los peces del mar para que tengan abasto?”. ^11:23Entonces Jehová respondió a Moisés, “¿Acaso se ha acortado la mano de Jehová? Ahora verás si se cumple para ti mi Palabra, o no”.

^11:24Y salió Moisés, y dijo al pueblo las palabras de Jehová. Y juntó los setenta varones de los ancianos del pueblo, y los hizo estar alrededor del Tabernáculo. ^11:25Entonces Jehová descendió en la nube, y le habló; y tomó del espíritu que estaba en él, y lo puso en los setenta varones ancianos; y fue que, cuando posó sobre ellos el espíritu, profetizaron, y no cesaron.

^11:26Y habían quedado en el campamento dos varones, uno llamado Eldad y el otro Medad, sobre los cuales también reposó el espíritu; estaban éstos entre los escritos, pero no habían salido al Tabernáculo; y profetizaron en el campamento. ^11:27Entonces corrió un joven, y dio aviso a Moisés, y dijo, “¡Eldad y Medad profetizan en el campamento!”. ^11:28Entonces respondió Josué hijo de Nun, ministro de Moisés, uno de sus jóvenes, y dijo, “Señor mío, Moisés, impídelos”. ^11:29Y Moisés le respondió, “¿Tienes tú celos por mí? ¡Quisiera Dios que todo el pueblo de Jehová fuesen Profetas, que Jehová pusiera su Espíritu sobre ellos!”. ^11:30Y Moisés se volvió al campamento, él y los ancianos de Israel.

^11:31Y salió un viento de Jehová, y trajo codornices del mar, y las dejó sobre el campamento, un día de camino a un lado, y un día de camino al otro lado, en derredor del campamento, y casi dos codos sobre la faz de la tierra. ^11:32Entonces el pueblo estuvo levantado todo aquel día, y toda la noche, y todo el día siguiente, y se recogieron codornices; el que menos, recogió diez montones; y las tendieron para sí a lo largo en derredor del campamento.

^11:33Y cuando la carne estaba aún entre los dientes de ellos, antes que fuese masticada, el furor de Jehová se encendió contra el pueblo, e hirió Jehová al pueblo con una plaga muy grande. ^11:34Y llamó el nombre de aquel lugar “Kibrot-hataava”, por cuanto allí sepultaron al pueblo codicioso.

^11:35Y de Kibrot-hataava partió el pueblo a Haserot; y se quedó en Haserot.
