^33:3And they departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the next day after the Passover the children of Israel went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians:

^33:4for the Egyptians buried all their firstborn, which Jehovah had smitten among them; upon their gods also Jehovah executed judgments.

^33:38And Aaron the priest went up into mount Hor at the command of Jehovah, and he died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the first day of the fifth month. ^33:39And Aaron was one hundred and twenty-three years old when he died in mount Hor.

^33:40And king Arad the Canaanite, which dwelt in the south in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the children of Israel.

^33:41And they departed from mount Hor, and camped in Zalmonah. ^33:42And they departed from Zalmonah, and camped in Punon. ^33:43And they departed from Punon, and camped in Oboth. ^33:44And they departed from Oboth, and camped in Ije-abarim, in the border of Moab. ^33:45And they departed from Iim, and camped in Dibon-gad. ^33:46And they moved from Dibon-gad, and camped in Almon-diblathaim. ^33:47And they moved from Almon-diblathaim, and camped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo. ^33:48And they left the mountains of Abarim, and camped in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho. ^33:49And they camped by Jordan, from Beth-jesimoth even to Abel-shittim in the plains of Moab.

^33:50And Jehovah spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying, ^33:51“Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, ‘When you have passed over Jordan into the land of Canaan, ^33:52then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you; and destroy all their stone images, and destroy all their molten images, and completely break down all their high places.

^33:53And you shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land, and dwell in it:

for I have given you the land to possess it.

^33:54And you shall divide the land by lot for an inheritance among your families;

and to the more you shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer you shall give the less inheritance.

¶Opposite   But if they failed to drive out the Canaanites, then He would eventually drive them out (33:54b - 56)

Every man's inheritance shall be in the place where his lot falls;

according to the tribes of your fathers you shall inherit.

^33:55But if you will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then it shall come to pass, that those which you let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides;

and they shall afflict you in the land wherein you dwell.

^33:56Moreover it shall come to pass, that I shall do to you, as I thought to do to them.’”

^34:1And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ^34:2“Command the children of Israel; and say to them, ‘When you come into the land of Canaan (this is the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan with its borders), ^34:3then your south quarter shall be from the wilderness of Zin along by the border of Edom. And your southern border shall be the outmost border of the salt sea eastward. ^34:4And your border shall turn from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin; and its going forth shall be from the south to Kadesh-barnea, and shall go on to Hazar-addar, and pass on to Azmon; ^34:5and the border shall turn from Azmon to the river of Egypt; and the end of it shall be at the sea.

^34:6And as for the western border, you shall even have the great sea for a border; this shall be your western border.

^34:7And this shall be your northern border: from the great sea you shall point out for you mount Hor; ^34:8from mount Hor you shall point out your border to the entrance of Hamath; and the goings forth of the border shall be to Zedad; ^34:9and the border shall go on to Ziphron; and the goings out of it shall be at Hazar-enan; this shall be your northern border.

^34:10And you shall point out your eastern border from Hazar-enan to Shepham; ^34:11and the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain. And the border shall descend, and shall reach to the side of the sea of Chinnereth eastward; ^34:12and the border shall go down to Jordan, and the goings out of it shall be at the salt sea.

This shall be your land with its borders round about.’”

^34:13And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, “This is the land which you shall inherit by lot, which Jehovah commanded to give to the nine tribes, and to the half tribe of Manasseh.

^34:14For the tribe of the children of Reuben according to the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the house of their fathers, have received their inheritance; and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance.

^34:15The two tribes and the half tribe have received their inheritance on this side of Jordan near Jericho eastward, toward the sunrise.”

^34:16And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ^34:17“These are the names of the men which shall divide the land to you: Eleazar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun.

^34:18And you shall take one prince of every tribe, to divide the land by inheritance. ^34:19And the names of the men are these: of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh; ^34:20and of the tribe of the children of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud; ^34:21of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon; ^34:22and the prince of the tribe of the children of Dan, Bukki the son of Jogli; ^34:23the prince of the children of Joseph, for the tribe of the children of Manasseh, Hanniel the son of Ephod; ^34:24and the prince of the tribe of the children of Ephraim, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan; ^34:25and the prince of the tribe of the children of Zebulun, Elizaphan the son of Parnach; ^34:26and the prince of the tribe of the children of Issachar, Paltiel the son of Azzan; ^34:27and the prince of the tribe of the children of Asher, Ahihud the son of Shelomi; ^34:28and the prince of the tribe of the children of Naphtali, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.” ^34:29These are they whom Jehovah commanded to divide the inheritance to the children of Israel in the land of Canaan.

^35:1And Jehovah spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying, ^35:2“Command the children of Israel, that they give cities to the Levites to dwell in of the inheritance of their possession; and you shall also give to the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them. ^35:3And they shall have the cities to dwell in; and the suburbs of them shall be for their livestock, and for their goods, and for all their beasts.

^35:4And the suburbs of the cities, which you shall give to the Levites, shall reach from the wall of the city and outward one thousand cubits round about. ^35:5And you shall measure from outside the city on the east side two thousand cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits and the city shall be in the midst; this shall be to them the suburbs of the cities.

^35:6And among the cities which you shall give to the Levites there shall be six cities for refuge, which you shall appoint for the manslayer, that he may flee there.

And to them you shall add forty-two cities, ^35:7so all the cities which you shall give to the Levites shall be forty-eight cities; you shall give them with their suburbs.

^35:8And the cities which you shall give shall be of the possession of the children of Israel. From them that have many you shall give many; but from them that have few you shall give few. Every one shall give of his cities to the Levites according to his inheritance which he is inheriting.”

^35:9And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ^35:10“Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, ‘When you have come over Jordan into the land of Canaan, ^35:11then you shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the slayer may flee there, which kills any person by accident. ^35:12And they shall be cities for refuge from the avenger to you, so that the manslayer does not die, until he stands before the congregation in judgment.

^35:13And of these cities which you shall give, you shall have six cities for refuge. ^35:14You shall give three cities on this side of Jordan, and you shall give three cities in the land of Canaan, which shall be cities of refuge. ^35:15These six cities shall be a refuge, both for the children of Israel, and for the stranger, and for the sojourner among them, so that everyone that kills any person by accident may flee there.

^35:16And if he strikes him with an instrument of iron, that he dies, he is a murderer. The murderer shall surely be put to death. ^35:17And if he strikes him with throwing a stone with which he may die, and he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death. ^35:18Or if he strikes him with a hand weapon of wood with which he may die, and he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death. ^35:19The avenger of blood himself shall slay the murderer; when he meets him, he shall slay him. ^35:20And if he pushes him of hatred, or hurls at him by laying of wait, so that he dies; ^35:21or in hatred strikes him with his hand, so that he dies, he that struck him shall surely be put to death: for he is a murderer; the avenger of blood shall slay the murderer, when he meets him.

^35:22But if he pushes him suddenly without hatred, or has cast upon him anything without laying in wait, ^35:23or with any stone, with which a man may die, not seeing him, and casts it upon him, so that he dies, and was not his enemy and neither sought his harm, ^35:24then the congregation shall judge between the slayer and the avenger of blood according to these Judgments. ^35:25And the congregation shall deliver the slayer out of the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to the city of his refuge, where he fled. And he shall remain in it until the death of the high priest, which was anointed with the holy oil. ^35:26But if the slayer shall at any time come outside the border of the city of his refuge, where he fled, ^35:27and the avenger of blood finds him outside the borders of the city of his refuge, and the avenger of blood kills the slayer, he shall not be guilty of blood, ^35:28because he should have remained in the city of his refuge until the death of the high priest. But after the death of the high priest the slayer shall return into the land of his possession.

^35:29So shall these things be for a Statute of judgment to you throughout your generations in all your dwellings. ^35:30Whoso kills any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses; but one witness alone shall not testify against any person to cause him to die. ^35:31Moreover you shall take no ransom for the life of a murderer, which is guilty of death, but he shall be surely put to death. ^35:32And you shall take no ransom for him that has fled to the city of his refuge, so that he should come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest. ^35:33So shall you not pollute the land wherein you live: for blood, it defiles the land; and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed in it, but by the blood of him that shed it. ^35:34Therefore do not defile the land which you shall inhabit, wherein I dwell: for I Jehovah dwell among the children of Israel.’”

^36:1And the chief fathers of the families of the children of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near; and they spoke before Moses, and before the princes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel. ^36:2And they said, “Jehovah commanded my lord, to give the land for an inheritance by lot to the children of Israel.

And my lord was commanded by Jehovah, to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother, to his daughters. ^36:3But if they are married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel, then shall their inheritance be taken from the inheritance of our fathers; and it shall be added to the inheritance of the tribe into which they are received. So it shall be taken from the lot of our inheritance. ^36:4And when the Jubilee of the children of Israel shall be, then their inheritance shall be added to the inheritance of the tribe into which they are received. In this manner their inheritance shall be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.”

^36:5And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the Word of Jehovah, saying, “The tribe of the sons of Joseph has spoken well. ^36:6This is the thing that Jehovah commands, concerning the daughters of Zelophehad: saying, ‘Let them marry to whom they think best; but only to the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry. ^36:7So shall the inheritance of the children of Israel not move from one tribe to another tribe: for each to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers, do the children of Israel cleave. ^36:8And every daughter, that possesses an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel, shall be wife to one of the family of the tribe of her father; that every man of the children of Israel may enjoy the inheritance of his fathers. ^36:9Neither shall the inheritance move from one tribe to another tribe; for every one of the children of Israel shall keep himself to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.’”

^36:10Even as Jehovah commanded Moses, so did the daughters of Zelophehad: ^36:11for Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married to their father's brothers' sons. ^36:12And they were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph; and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.

^36:13These are the Commandments and the Judgments, which Jehovah commanded by the hand of Moses, to the children of Israel, in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.

¶Lo opuesto   Pero si no lograban expulsar a los cananeos, entonces él eventualmente expulsaría a Israel (33:54b - 56)

La herencia de cada uno será estar en el lugar donde su lote cae;

de acuerdo a las tribus de vuestros padres heredaréis.

^33:55Y si no echareis a los moradores de la tierra de delante de ustedes, sucederá que los que dejareis de ellos serán por aguijones en vuestros ojos, y por espinas en vuestros costados;

y os afligirán sobre la tierra en que ustedes habitareis.

^33:56Será además, que haré a ustedes como yo pensé hacerles a ellos’”.

¶El complemento   Jehová les dijo a los hijos de Israel dónde estarían las fronteras de su tierra (34:1 - 12)

^34:1Y Jehová habló a Moisés, diciendo, ^34:2“Manda tú a los hijos de Israel, y diles, ‘Cuando hubiereis entrado en la tierra de Canaán (esto es, la tierra que os ha de caer en heredad, la tierra de Canaán según sus términos), ^34:3tendréis el lado del sur desde el desierto de Zin hasta los términos de Edom; y os será el término del sur al extremo del Mar Salado hacia el oriente. ^34:4Y vuestro término irá rodeando desde el sur hasta la subida de Acrabim, y pasará hasta Zin; y su salida será del sur hacia Cades-barnea; y saldrá a Hasar-adar, y pasará hasta Asmón. ^34:5Y rodeará este término, desde Asmón hasta el torrente de Egipto, y sus remates serán al occidente.

^34:6Y el término occidental os será el Mar Grande; este término os será el término occidental.

^34:7Y éste será el término del norte; desde el Mar Grande os señalaréis el monte de Hor; ^34:8del monte de Hor señalaréis a la entrada de Hamat, y serán las salidas de aquel término a Sedad; ^34:9y saldrá este término a Zifón, y serán sus remates en Hasar-enán; éste os será el término del norte.

^34:10Y por término al oriente os señalaréis desde Hasar-enán hasta Sefam; ^34:11y bajará este término desde Sefam a Ribla, al oriente de Aín: y descenderá el término, y llegará a la costa del mar de Cineret al oriente. ^34:12Después descenderá este término al Jordán, y serán sus salidas al Mar Salado.

Ésta será vuestra tierra, por sus términos alrededor’”.

¶El complemento   Moisés les dijo a los hijos de Israel dónde estarían su herencia (34:13 - 29)

^34:13Y mandó Moisés a los hijos de Israel, diciendo, “Ésta es la tierra que heredaréis por suerte, la cual mandó Jehová que diese a las nueve tribus, y a la media tribu.

^34:14Porque la tribu de los hijos de Rubén según las casas de sus padres, y la tribu de los hijos de Gad según las casas de sus padres, y la media tribu de Manasés, han tomado su herencia.

^34:15Dos tribus y media tomaron su heredad a este lado del Jordán, frente a Jericó, al oriente, hacia el nacimiento del sol”.

^34:16Y habló Jehová a Moisés, diciendo, ^34:17“Éstos son los nombres de los varones que les repartirán la tierra: Eleazar el sacerdote, y Josué hijo de Nun.

^34:18Tomaréis también de cada tribu un príncipe, para dar la posesión de la tierra. ^34:19Y éstos son los nombres de los varones: De la tribu de Judá, Caleb hijo de Jefone. ^34:20Y de la tribu de los hijos de Simeón, Samuel hijo de Amiud. ^34:21De la tribu de Benjamín; Elidad hijo de Quislón. ^34:22Y de la tribu de los hijos de Dan, el príncipe Buqui hijo de Jogli. ^34:23De los hijos de José: de la tribu de los hijos de Manasés, el príncipe Haniel hijo de Efod. ^34:24Y de la tribu de los hijos de Efraín, el príncipe Quemuel hijo de Siftán. ^34:25Y de la tribu de los hijos de Zabulón, el príncipe Elizafán hijo de Farnac. ^34:26Y de la tribu de los hijos de Isacar, el príncipe Paltiel hijo de Azan. ^34:27Y de la tribu de los hijos de Aser, el príncipe Ahiud hijo de Selomi. ^34:28Y de la tribu de los hijos de Neftalí, el príncipe Pedael hijo de Amiud”. ^34:29Éstos son a los que mandó Jehová que hiciesen la partición de la herencia a los hijos de Israel en la tierra de Canaán.

¶Único   Jehová mandó a los hijos de Israel que proporcionaran ciudades entre ellos para los levitas para habitar en (35:1 - 8)

^35:1Y habló Jehová a Moisés en los campos de Moab, junto al Jordán frente a Jericó, diciendo, ^35:2“Manda tú a los hijos de Israel, que den a los levitas de la posesión de su heredad ciudades en que habitena los hijos de Israel, que den a los levitas de la posesión de su heredad ciudades en que habiten: también daréis a los levitas ejidos de esas ciudades alrededor de ellas. ^35:3Y tendrán ellos las ciudades para habitar, y los ejidos de ellas serán para sus animales, y para sus ganados, y para todas sus bestias.

^35:4Y los ejidos de las ciudades que daréis a los levitas, serán mil codos alrededor, desde el muro de la ciudad para afuera. ^35:5Luego mediréis fuera de la ciudad a la parte del oriente dos mil codos, y a la parte del sur dos mil codos, y a la parte del occidente dos mil codos, y a la parte del norte dos mil codos, y la ciudad en medio; esto tendrán por los ejidos de las ciudades.

^35:6Y de las ciudades que daréis a los levitas, seis ciudades serán de refugio, las cuales daréis para que el homicida se refugie allá.

Y además de éstas daréis cuarenta y dos ciudades; ^35:7todas las ciudades que daréis a los levitas serán cuarenta y ocho ciudades; ellas con sus ejidos.

^35:8Y las ciudades que diereis de la heredad de los hijos de Israel, del que mucho tomaréis mucho, y del que poco tomaréis poco; cada uno dará de sus ciudades a los levitas según la posesión que heredará”.

§Único   Conclusion: Jehová dio estatutos para los crímenes y para los matrimonios entre las tribus (35:9 - 36:13)

^35:9Y habló Jehová a Moisés, diciendo, ^35:10“Habla a los hijos de Israel, y diles, ‘Cuando hubiereis pasado el Jordán a la tierra de Canaán, ^35:11os señalaréis ciudades, ciudades de refugio tendréis, donde huya el homicida que hiriere a alguno de muerte por yerro. ^35:12Y os serán aquellas ciudades por refugio del pariente, y no morirá el homicida hasta que esté a juicio delante de la congregación.

^35:13De las ciudades, pues, que daréis, tendréis seis ciudades de refugio. ^35:14Tres ciudades daréis a este lado del Jordán, y tres ciudades daréis en la tierra de Canaán; las cuales serán ciudades de refugio. ^35:15Estas seis ciudades serán para refugio a los hijos de Israel, y al peregrino, y al que morare entre ellos, para que huya allá cualquiera que hiriere de muerte a otro por yerro.

^35:16Y si con instrumento de hierro lo hiriere y muriere, homicida es; el homicida morirá. ^35:17Y si con piedra de mano, de que pueda morir, lo hiriere, y muriere, homicida es; el homicida morirá. ^35:18Y si con instrumento de palo de mano, de que pueda morir, lo hiriere, y muriere, homicida es; el homicida morirá. ^35:19El pariente del muerto, él matará al homicida: cuando lo encontrare, él le matará. ^35:20Y si por odio lo empujó, o echó sobre él alguna cosa por asechanzas, y muere; ^35:21o por enemistad lo hirió con su mano, y murió; el heridor morirá; es homicida; el pariente del muerto matará al homicida, cuando lo encontrare.

^35:22Pero si casualmente lo empujó sin enemistades, o echó sobre él cualquier instrumento sin asechanzas, ^35:23o bien, sin verlo, hizo caer sobre él alguna piedra, de que pudo morir, y muriere, y él no era su enemigo, ni procuraba su mal; ^35:24entonces la congregación juzgará entre el heridor y el pariente del muerto conforme a estas leyes. ^35:25Y la congregación librará al homicida de mano del pariente del muerto, y la congregación lo hará volver a su ciudad de refugio, en la cual se había refugiado; y morará en ella hasta que muera el sumo sacerdote, el cual fue ungido con el aceite santo. ^35:26Y si el homicida saliere fuera del término de su ciudad de refugio, en la cual se refugió, ^35:27y el pariente del muerto le hallare fuera del término de la ciudad de su refugio, y el pariente del muerto al homicida matare, no se le culpará por ello, ^35:28pues en su ciudad de refugio deberá aquél habitar hasta que muera el sumo sacerdote: y después que muriere el sumo sacerdote, el homicida volverá a la tierra de su posesión.

^35:29Y estas cosas os serán por Ordenanza de derecho por vuestras edades, en todas vuestras habitaciones. ^35:30Cualquiera que hiriere a alguno, por dicho de testigos, morirá el homicida: pero un solo testigo no hará fe contra alguna persona para que muera. ^35:31Y no tomaréis precio por la vida del homicida: porque está condenado a muerte; pero indefectiblemente morirá. ^35:32Ni tampoco tomaréis precio del que huyó a su ciudad de refugio, para que vuelva a vivir en su tierra, hasta que muera el sacerdote. ^35:33Y no contaminaréis la tierra donde estuviereis: porque esta sangre amancillará la tierra; y la tierra no será expiada de la sangre que fue derramada en ella, sino por la sangre del que la derramó. ^35:34No contaminéis, pues, la tierra donde habitáis, en medio de la cual yo habito: porque yo Jehová habito en medio de los hijos de Israel’”.

¶El complemento   Jehová dio estatutos para los matrimonios entre las tribus (36:1 - 13)

^36:1Y llegaron los príncipes de los padres de la familia de Galaad, hijo de Maquir, hijo de Manasés, de las familias de los hijos de José; y hablaron delante de Moisés, y de los príncipes, cabezas de padres de los hijos de Israel, ^36:2y dijeron, “Jehová mandó a mi señor que por suerte diese la tierra a los hijos de Israel en posesión.

Y ha mandado Jehová a mi señor, que dé la posesión de Zelofehad nuestro hermano a sus hijas. ^36:3Las cuales, si se casaren con algunos de los hijos de las otras tribus de los hijos de Israel, la herencia de ellas será quitada de la herencia de nuestros padres, y será añadida a la herencia de la tribu a que serán unidas; y será quitada de la suerte de nuestra heredad. ^36:4Y cuando viniere el jubileo de los hijos de Israel, la heredad de ellas será añadida a la heredad de la tribu de sus maridos; y así la heredad de ellas será quitada de la heredad de la tribu de nuestros padres”.

^36:5Entonces Moisés mandó a los hijos de Israel conforme a la Palabra de Jehová, diciendo, “La tribu de los hijos de José habla rectamente. ^36:6Esto es lo que ha mandado Jehová acerca de las hijas de Zelofehad, diciendo, ‘Cásense como a ellas les plazca, pero en la familia de la tribu de su padre se casarán; ^36:7para que la heredad de los hijos de Israel no sea traspasada de tribu en tribu: porque cada uno de los hijos de Israel se unirá a la heredad de la tribu de sus padres. ^36:8Y cualquiera hija que poseyere heredad de las tribus de los hijos de Israel, con alguno de la familia de la tribu de su padre se casará, para que los hijos de Israel posean cada uno la heredad de sus padres. ^36:9Y no ande la heredad rodando de una tribu a otra; pero cada una de las tribus de los hijos de Israel se llegue a su heredad’.”

^36:10Como Jehová mandó a Moisés, así hicieron las hijas de Zelofehad. ^36:11Y así Maala, y Tirsa, y Hogla, y Milca, y Noa, hijas de Zelofehad, se casaron con hijos de sus tíos. ^36:12Se casaron con los de la familia de los hijos de Manasés, hijo de José; y la heredad de ellas quedó en la tribu de la familia de su padre.

^36:13Éstos son los Mandamientos y los Estatutos que mandó Jehová por mano de Moisés a los hijos de Israel en los campos de Moab, junto al Jordán, frente a Jericó.
