and after the doings of the land of Canaan (where I am bringing you), you shall not do; neither shall you walk in their Ordinances.

^18:4You shall do my Judgments, and keep my Ordinances, to walk in them; I am Jehovah your God.

^18:5You shall therefore keep my Statutes, and my Judgments, which if a man does, he shall live in them; I am Jehovah.

^18:6None of you shall approach to anyone that is a near relative to him, to uncover their nakedness; I am Jehovah. ^18:7You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father, or the nakedness of your mother; she is your mother; you shall not uncover her nakedness. ^18:8You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's wife; it is your father's nakedness. ^18:9The nakedness of your sister, the daughter of your father, or daughter of your mother, whether she was born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness you shall not uncover. ^18:10The nakedness of your son's daughter, or of your daughter's daughter, even their nakedness you shall not uncover: for their nakedness is your own nakedness. ^18:11The nakedness of your father's wife's daughter, begotten of your father; she is your sister: you shall not uncover her nakedness. ^18:12You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's sister; she is your father's near kinswoman. ^18:13You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister: for she is your mother's near kinswoman. ^18:14You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's brother. You shall not approach to his wife; she is your aunt. ^18:15You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law; she is your son's wife; you shall not uncover her nakedness. ^18:16You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother's wife; it is your brother's nakedness. ^18:17You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter; neither shall you take her son's daughter, or her daughter's daughter, to uncover her nakedness: for they are her near kinswomen; it is wickedness. ^18:18Neither shall you take a wife to her sister, to vex her, to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her life time. ^18:19Also you shall not approach to a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put apart for her uncleanness. ^18:20Moreover you shall not lie carnally with your neighbor's wife, to defile yourself with her. ^18:21And you shall not let any of your seed pass through the fire to Molech; neither shall you profane the Name of your God; I am Jehovah. ^18:22You shall not lie with a man, as with a woman; it is abomination. ^18:23Neither shall you lie with any beast to defile yourself with it; neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down to it; it is perversion.

^18:24Do not defile yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you; ^18:25and the land is defiled; therefore I am visiting its iniquity upon it, and the land itself is vomiting out her inhabitants.

^18:26You shall therefore keep my Statutes and my Judgments, and you shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourns among you ^18:27(for all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled), ^18:28that the land does not spew you out also, when you defile it, as it spewed out the nations that were before you.

^18:29For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the persons that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.

^18:30Therefore you shall keep my Ordinance, that you do not commit any of these abominable customs, which were committed before you; and that you do not defile yourselves in them; I am Jehovah your God.’”

§Complement   Body: Keep the Sabbaths, Statutes, and Judgments of Jehovah your God (19:1 - 37)

^19:1And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ^19:2“Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say to them, ‘You shall be holy: for I, Jehovah your God, am holy.

^19:3You shall fear every man his mother and his father; and keep my Sabbaths; I am Jehovah your God. ^19:4Do not turn to idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods; I am Jehovah your God. ^19:5And if you offer a sacrifice of peace offerings to Jehovah, you shall offer it at your own will. ^19:6It shall be eaten the same day you offer it, and on the next day; and if anything remains until the third day, it shall be burned in the fire. ^19:7And if it is eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted. ^19:8Therefore everyone that eats it shall bear his iniquity, because he has profaned the hallowed thing of Jehovah; and that person shall be cut off from among his people. ^19:9And when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not completely reap the corners of your field; neither shall you gather the gleanings of your harvest. ^19:10And you shall not glean your vineyard; neither shall you gather every grape of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and the stranger; I am Jehovah your God. ^19:11You shall not steal; neither shall you deal falsely, nor lie one to another. ^19:12And you shall not swear by my Name falsely; neither shall you profane the Name of your God; I am Jehovah. ^19:13You shall not defraud your neighbor; neither rob him; the wages of him that is hired shall not remain with you all night until the morning. ^19:14You shall not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shall fear your God; I am Jehovah. ^19:15You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment; you shall not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty; but you shall judge your neighbor in righteousness. ^19:16You shall not go up and down as a gossiper among your people; neither shall you stand against the blood of your neighbor; I am Jehovah. ^19:17You shall not hate your brother in your heart; but you shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not allow sin upon him. ^19:18You shall not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am Jehovah.

^19:19You shall keep my Statutes: you shall not allow your cattle to breed with a diverse kind; you shall not sow your field with mingled seed; neither shall a garment mingled of linen and wool come upon you. ^19:20And whosoever lies carnally with a woman that is a maidservant (betrothed to a husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her), there shall be punishment; but they shall not be put to death, because she was not free. ^19:21And he shall bring his trespass offering to Jehovah, to the door of the Tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering. ^19:22And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before Jehovah for his sin which he has done; and the sin which he has done shall be forgiven him. ^19:23And when you shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then you shall count its fruit as uncircumcised. Three years it shall be as uncircumcised to you. It shall not be eaten. ^19:24But in the fourth year all its fruit shall be holy to praise Jehovah with. ^19:25And in the fifth year you shall eat of its fruit, that it may yield to you its increase; I am Jehovah your God.

^19:26You shall not eat with the blood; neither shall you use witchcraft, nor practice fortune-telling. ^19:27You shall not round the corners of your heads; neither shall you mar the corners of your beard. ^19:28You shall make no cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any tattoos upon you; I am Jehovah. ^19:29Do not prostitute your daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land falls to whoredom, and the land becomes full of wickedness.

^19:30You shall observe my Sabbaths, and reverence my Sanctuary; I am Jehovah. ^19:31Do not turn to them that have familiar spirits; neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them; I am Jehovah your God. ^19:32You shall rise up before the grey head, and honor the face of the old man, and fear your God; I am Jehovah. ^19:33And if a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not mistreat him. ^19:34The stranger that dwells with you shall be to you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself: for you were strangers in the land of Egypt; I am Jehovah your God. ^19:35You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in length, in weight, or in measure. ^19:36You shall have just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin. I am Jehovah your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt; ^19:37therefore you shall observe all my Statutes, and all my Judgments, and do them; I am Jehovah.’”

^20:3And I will set my face against that man, and I will cut him off from among his people, because he has given of his seed to Molech, to defile my Sanctuary, and to profane my holy Name.

^20:4And if the people of the land in any manner hide their eyes from the man, when he gives of his seed to Molech, and they do not kill him, ^20:5then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and I will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people.

^20:6And the person that turns after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that person, and will cut him off from among his people.

^20:7Therefore sanctify yourselves, and be holy: for I am Jehovah your God.

^20:8And you shall keep my Statutes, and do them; I am Jehovah that sanctifies you: ^20:9for everyone that curses his father or his mother shall be surely put to death; he has cursed his father or his mother: his blood shall be upon him. ^20:10And the man that commits adultery with another man's wife, even he that commits adultery with his neighbor's wife: the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. ^20:11And the man that lies with his father's wife has uncovered his father's nakedness; both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. ^20:12And if a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death; they have committed perversion; their blood shall be upon them. ^20:13If a man also lies with a man, as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death: their blood shall be upon them. ^20:14And if a man takes both a wife and her mother, it is wickedness; they shall be burned with fire, both he and they, so that there is no wickedness among you. ^20:15And if a man lies with a beast, he shall surely be put to death; and you shall slay the beast. ^20:16And if a woman approaches to any beast, and lies down to it, you shall kill the woman, and the beast; they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

^20:17And if a man shall take his sister, his father's daughter, or his mother's daughter, and see her nakedness, and she sees his nakedness, it is a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people; he has uncovered his sister's nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity. ^20:18And if a man shall lie with a woman having her menstrual sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness, he has discovered her fountain, and she has uncovered the fountain of her blood; and both of them shall be cut off from among their people. ^20:19And you shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister, nor of your father's sister: for he uncovers his near kin; they shall bear their iniquity. ^20:20And if a man shall lie with his uncle's wife, he has uncovered his uncle's nakedness; they shall bear their sin: they shall die childless. ^20:21And if a man shall take his brother's wife, it is an unclean thing; he has uncovered his brother's nakedness; they shall be childless.

^20:22Therefore you shall keep all my Statutes and all my Judgments, and do them, so that the land, where I bring you to dwell in it, does not spew you out. ^20:23And you shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them. ^20:24But I have said to you, ‘You shall inherit their land; and I will give it to you to possess it, a land that flows with milk and honey; I am Jehovah your God, which have separated you from other people.’

^20:25Therefore you shall put a difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean birds and clean; and you shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by bird, or by any manner of living thing that creeps on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean. ^20:26And you shall be holy to me: for I Jehovah am holy; and I have severed you from other people, that you should be mine.

^20:27A man also or woman that has a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death. They shall stone them with stones; their blood shall be upon them.’”

^18:24En ninguna de estas cosas os amancillaréis: porque en todas estas cosas se han ensuciado las naciones que yo echo de delante de ustedes, ^18:25y la tierra fue contaminada; y yo visité su maldad sobre ella, y la tierra vomitó sus moradores.

^18:26Ustedes, pues, guardad mis Estatutos y mis Decretos, y no hagáis ninguna de todas estas abominaciones; ni el natural ni el extranjero que peregrina entre ustedes ^18:27(porque todas estas abominaciones hicieron los hombres de la tierra, que fueron antes de ustedes, y la tierra fue contaminada), ^18:28para que la tierra no os vomite, por haberla contaminado, como vomitó a las naciones que fueron antes de ustedes.

^18:29Porque cualquiera que hiciere alguna de todas estas abominaciones, las personas que las hicieren, serán cortadas de entre su pueblo.

^18:30Guardad, pues, mi Ordenanza, no haciendo de las prácticas abominables que tuvieron lugar antes de ustedes, y no os ensuciéis en ellas; yo Jehová vuestro Dios’”.

^19:3Cada uno temerá a su madre y a su padre, y mis Sábados guardaréis; yo Jehová vuestro Dios. ^19:4No os volveréis a los ídolos, ni haréis para ustedes dioses de fundición; yo Jehová vuestro Dios. ^19:5Y cuando ofreciereis sacrificio de paz a Jehová, de vuestra propia voluntad lo sacrificaréis. ^19:6Será comido el día que lo sacrificareis, y el siguiente día; y lo que quedare para el tercer día, será quemado en el fuego. ^19:7Y si se comiere el día tercero, será abominación; no será acepto. ^19:8Y el que lo comiere, llevará su delito, por cuanto profanó lo santo de Jehová; y la tal persona será cortada de su pueblo. ^19:9Cuando segareis la mies de vuestra tierra, no segarás hasta el último rincón de tu campo, ni espigarás tu tierra segada. ^19:10Y no rebuscarás tu viña, ni recogerás los granos caídos de tu viña; para el pobre y para el extranjero los dejarás; yo Jehová vuestro Dios. ^19:11No hurtaréis, y no engañaréis, ni mentiréis ninguno a su prójimo. ^19:12Y no juraréis en mi Nombre con mentira, ni profanarás el Nombre de vuestro Dios; yo Jehová. ^19:13No oprimirás a tu prójimo, ni le robarás. No retendrás el salario del jornalero en tu casa hasta la mañana. ^19:14Al sordo no maldecirás, y delante del ciego no pondrás tropiezo, sino que tendrás temor de vuestro Dios; yo Jehová. ^19:15No harás agravio en el juicio; no absolverás al pobre, ni favorecerás al poderoso; con justicia juzgarás a tu prójimo. ^19:16No andarás chismeando entre tu pueblo. No te pondrás contra la sangre de tu prójimo; yo Jehová. ^19:17No aborrecerás a tu hermano en tu corazón; ciertamente amonestarás a tu prójimo, y no consentirás sobre su pecado. ^19:18No te vengarás, ni guardarás rencor a los hijos de tu pueblo; pero amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo; yo Jehová.

^19:19Mis Estatutos guardaréis. No permitirás que tu ganado se aparee con animales de otra especie; tu campo no sembrarás con mezcla de semillas, y no te pondrás vestiduras con mezcla de diversos hilos. ^19:20Y cuando un hombre tuviere cópula con mujer, y ella fuere sierva desposada con alguno, y no estuviere rescatada, ni le hubiere sido dada libertad, ambos serán azotados: no morirán, por cuanto ella no es libre. ^19:21Y él traerá a Jehová su ofrenda por la culpa a la puerta del Tabernáculo de la congregación, un carnero en expiación por su culpa. ^19:22Y con el carnero de la expiación lo reconciliará el sacerdote delante de Jehová, por su pecado que cometió: y se le perdonará su pecado que ha cometido. ^19:23Y cuando hubiereis entrado en la tierra, y plantareis toda clase de árboles frutales, contaréis como incircunciso lo primero de su fruto; tres años os será incircunciso; su fruto no se comerá. ^19:24Y el cuarto año todo su fruto será santidad de alabanzas a Jehová. ^19:25Pero al quinto año comeréis el fruto de él, para que os haga crecer su fruto; yo Jehová vuestro Dios.

^19:26No comeréis cosa alguna con sangre. No seréis agoreros, ni adivinaréis. ^19:27No cortaréis en redondo las extremidades de vuestras cabezas, ni dañarás la punta de tu barba. ^19:28Y no haréis rasguños en vuestro cuerpo por un muerto, ni imprimiréis en ustedes tatuaje alguno; yo Jehová. ^19:29No contaminarás a tu hija haciéndola fornicar; para que no se prostituya la tierra, y se llene de maldad.

^19:30Mis Sábados guardaréis, y mi Santuario tendréis en reverencia; yo Jehová. ^19:31No os volváis a los encantadores ni a los adivinos; no los consultéis ensuciándoos con ellos; yo Jehová vuestro Dios. ^19:32Delante de las canas te levantarás, y honrarás el rostro del anciano, y de vuestro Dios tendrás temor; yo Jehová. ^19:33Y cuando el extranjero morare contigo en vuestra tierra, no le oprimiréis. ^19:34Como a un natural de ustedes tendréis al extranjero que peregrinare entre ustedes; y lo amarás como a ti mismo: porque peregrinos fuisteis en la tierra de Egipto; yo Jehová vuestro Dios. ^19:35No hagáis injusticia en juicio, en medida de tierra, en peso ni en otra medida. ^19:36Balanzas justas, pesas justas, efa justo, e hin justo tendréis. ^20:4Que si escondiere el pueblo de la tierra sus ojos de aquel varón que hubiere dado de su simiente a Moloc, para no matarle, ^20:5entonces yo pondré mi rostro contra aquel varón, y contra su familia, y le cortaré de entre su pueblo, con todos los que fornicaron en pos de él, prostituyéndose con Moloc.

^20:6Y la persona que atendiere a encantadores o adivinos, para prostituirse tras de ellos, yo pondré mi rostro contra la tal persona, y la cortaré de entre su pueblo.

^20:7Santificaos, pues, y sed santos: porque yo Jehová soy vuestro Dios.

¶El complemento   Seréis santo para Jehová vuestro Dios y evitaréis las abominaciones de la tierra de Canaán (20:8 - 27)

^20:8Y guardad mis Estatutos, y ponedlos por obra; yo Jehová que os santifico: ^20:9porque cualquiera que maldijere a su padre o a su madre, de cierto morirá; a su padre o a su madre maldijo; su sangre será sobre él. ^20:10El hombre que cometiere adulterio con la esposa de otro hombre, el que cometiere adulterio con la esposa de su prójimo, el adúltero y la adúltera indefectiblemente han de ser muertos. ^20:11Y cualquiera que se acostare con la esposa de su padre, la desnudez de su padre descubrió; ambos han de ser muertos; su sangre será sobre ellos. ^20:12Y cualquiera que se acostare con su nuera, ambos han de morir; cometieron depravación; su sangre será sobre ellos. ^20:13Y cualquiera que se acostare con un hombre como si se acostare con una mujer, ambos han cometido abominación; indefectiblemente han de ser muertos; su sangre será sobre ellos. ^20:14Y el que tomare esposa y a la madre de ella, comete vileza; quemarán en fuego a él y a ellas, para que no haya vileza entre ustedes. ^20:15Y cualquiera que tuviere cópula con bestia, ha de ser muerto; y mataréis a la bestia. ^20:16Y si una mujer se allegare a algún animal, para ayuntarse con él, a la mujer y al animal matarás; morirán indefectiblemente; su sangre será sobre ellos.

^20:17Y cualquiera que tomare a su hermana, hija de su padre o hija de su madre, y viere su desnudez, y ella viere la suya, cosa detestable es; por tanto serán muertos a ojos de los hijos de su pueblo; descubrió la desnudez de su hermana; su pecado llevará. ^20:18Y cualquiera que se acostare con mujer menstruosa, y descubriere su desnudez, su fuente descubrió, y ella descubrió la fuente de su sangre: ambos serán cortados de entre su pueblo. ^20:19La desnudez de la hermana de tu madre, o de la hermana de tu padre, no descubrirás: por cuanto descubrió su parienta, su iniquidad llevarán. ^20:20Y cualquiera que se acostare con la esposa del hermano de su padre, la desnudez del hermano de su padre descubrió; su pecado llevarán; morirán sin hijos. ^20:21Y el que tomare la esposa de su hermano, comete inmundicia; la desnudez de su hermano descubrió; sin hijos serán.

^20:22Guardad, pues, todos mis Estatutos y todas mis Ordenanzas, y ponedlos por obra; a fin de que no os vomite la tierra, en la cual yo os introduzco para que habitéis en ella. ^20:23Y no andéis en las prácticas de las naciones que yo echaré de delante de ustedes: porque hicieron todas estas cosas, y los tuve en abominación. ^20:24Pero a ustedes os he dicho, ‘Ustedes poseeréis la tierra de ellos, y yo os la daré para que la poseáis por heredad, tierra que fluye leche y miel; yo Jehová vuestro Dios, que os he apartado de los pueblos’.

^20:25Por tanto, ustedes haréis diferencia entre animal limpio e inmundo, y entre ave inmunda y limpia; y no contaminéis vuestras personas en los animales, ni en las aves, ni en ninguna cosa que va arrastrando por la tierra, las cuales os he apartado por inmundas. ^20:26Habéis, pues, de serme santos: porque yo Jehová soy santo, y os he apartado de los pueblos, para que seáis míos.

^20:27Y el hombre o la mujer en quienes hubiere espíritu de pitonisa o de adivinación, han de ser muertos; los apedrearán con piedras; su sangre será sobre ellos’”.
