^5:21And Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah. ^5:22And Enoch walked with God, after he begot Methuselah, three hundred years, and begot sons and daughters.^5:23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. ^5:24And Enoch walked with God; and he was not: for God took him.

^5:25And Methuselah lived one hundred and eighty-seven years, and begot Lamech. ^5:26And Methuselah lived after he begot Lamech seven hundred and eighty-two years, and begot sons and daughters. ^5:27And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years; and he died.

^5:28And Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and begot a son. ^5:29And he called his name Noah, saying, “This one shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground that Jehovah has cursed.” ^5:30And Lamech lived after he begot Noah five hundred and ninety-five years, and begot sons and daughters. ^5:31And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years; and he died.

^5:32And Noah was five hundred years old; and Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

^6:1And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, ^6:2that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were good; and they took them wives of all which they chose. ^6:3And Jehovah said, “My Spirit shall not always strive with man, because he also is flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”

^6:4There were Nephilim in the earth in those days.

And also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, notorious men.

^6:5And Jehovah saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth; and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. ^6:6And Jehovah regretted that he had made man on the Earth; and it grieved him at his heart. ^6:7And Jehovah said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth: both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the birds of the air: for I regret that I have made them.”

^6:8But Noah found grace in the eyes of Jehovah.

¶Opposite   God commanded Noah to build an Ark to save him and his family from the Great Flood (6:9 - 22)

^6:9These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and blameless in his generations; Noah walked with God. ^6:10And Noah begot three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

^6:11The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence; ^6:12and God looked upon the earth; and behold, it was corrupt, because all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

^6:13And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before me, because the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. ^6:14Make an Ark of gopher wood. You shall make rooms in the Ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch. ^6:15And this is the design according to which you shall make it: the length of the Ark shall be three hundred cubits, its breadth fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits. ^6:16You shall make a window to the Ark, and in a cubit shall you finish it above; and you shall set the door of the Ark in its side; you shall make it with lower, second, and third levels.

^6:17“And, behold, I, even I, will bring a Deluge of waters upon the earth to destroy all flesh (in which is the breath of life) from under heaven; and everything that is in the earth shall die.

^6:18“But with you will I establish my Covenant; and you shall come into the Ark: you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you; ^6:19and of every living thing of all flesh: two of every sort shall you bring into the Ark, to keep them alive with you: they shall be male and female. ^6:20Of birds after their kind, and of animals after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come to you, to keep them alive. ^6:21And take to you some of all food that is eaten; and you shall gather it to you; and it shall be for food for you, and for them.” ^6:22Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

¶Complement   Noah brought his family and the animals, birds, and beasts into the Ark in the week before the Deluge began (7:1 - 16)

^7:1And Jehovah said to Noah, “Come, you and all your household into the Ark: for you have I seen righteous before me in this generation. ^7:2You shall take of every clean beast to you by sevens, the male and his female; and of beasts that are unclean by two, the male and his female; ^7:3of birds also of the air by sevens, the male and the female: to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. ^7:4For after seven more days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living thing that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.”

^7:5And Noah did according to all that Jehovah commanded him. ^7:6And Noah was six hundred years old when the Deluge of waters was upon the earth. ^7:7And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him, into the Ark, because of the waters of the Deluge.

^7:8Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of birds, and of everything that creeps upon the earth, ^7:9there went in two and two to Noah into the Ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.

^7:10And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the Deluge were upon the earth. ^7:11In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened; ^7:12and the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

^7:13In the very same day Noah, and Shem, Ham, and Japheth (the sons of Noah), and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, entered into the Ark: ^7:14they, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth after his kind; and every bird after his kind: every bird of every sort. ^7:15And they went to Noah into the Ark, two and two of all flesh, in which is the breath of life. ^7:16And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him; and Jehovah shut him in.

^7:17And the Deluge was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased and lifted up the Ark; and it rose up above the earth. ^7:18And the waters prevailed, and increased greatly upon the earth; and the Ark went upon the face of the waters.

^7:19And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered: ^7:20fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

^7:21And all flesh died that moved upon the earth: both of bird, of cattle, of beast, and of every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth, and every man. ^7:22All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. ^7:23And every living thing was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground: both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the bird of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth.

And only Noah remained alive, and they that were with him in the Ark.

^7:24And the waters prevailed upon the earth one hundred and fifty days.

^8:1And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals that were with him in the Ark.

And God made a wind to pass over the earth; and the waters subsided; ^8:2the fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped; and the rain from heaven was restrained; ^8:3and the waters returned from off the earth continually; and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were diminished.

^8:4And the Ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

^8:5And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month.

In the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen.

^8:10And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the Ark. ^8:11And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf plucked off; so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.

^8:12And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove, which did not return again to him anymore. ^8:13And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth. And Noah removed the covering of the Ark; and he looked. And behold, the face of the ground was dry.

^8:14And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dried. ^8:15And God spoke to Noah, saying, ^8:16“Go forth from the Ark: you, your wife, your sons, and your sons’ wives with you. ^8:17Bring forth with you every living thing that is with you, of all flesh, both of bird, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.”

^8:18And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him; ^8:19also every beast, every creeping thing, and every bird, and whatsoever creeps upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the Ark. ^8:20And Noah built an altar to Jehovah; and he took of every clean beast, and of every clean bird; and he offered burnt offerings on the altar. ^8:21And Jehovah smelled a sweet fragrance; and Jehovah said in his heart, “I will not again curse the ground anymore for man’s sake: for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite anymore every living thing, as I have done. ^8:22While the earth remains, the seasons of seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”

^9:1And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth. ^9:2And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every bird of the air, upon all that moves upon the earth and upon all the fish of the sea: into your hand are they delivered. ^9:3Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you, even as the green herb have I given you all things.

^9:4“But flesh with the life thereof, which is its blood, you shall not eat. ^9:5And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man. At the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man. ^9:6Whoso sheds man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. ^9:7And you, be fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply in it.”

^9:8And God spoke to Noah, and to his sons with him, saying, ^9:9“And I, behold, I establish my Covenant with you, and with your seed after you; ^9:10and with every living creature that is with you: of the birds, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the Ark, to every beast of the earth. ^9:11And I will establish my Covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off anymore by the waters of a Deluge; neither shall there anymore be a Deluge to destroy the earth.”

^9:12And God said, “This is the sign of the Covenant which I make between you and me and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: ^9:13I will set my rainbow in the cloud; and it shall be for a sign of a Covenant between me and the earth. ^9:14And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; ^9:15and I will remember my Covenant, which is between you and me and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a Deluge to destroy all flesh. ^9:16And the rainbow shall be in the cloud. And I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting Covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.”

^9:17And God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the Covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.”

^6:17“Y he aquí que yo traigo un Diluvio de aguas sobre la tierra, para destruir toda carne (en que haya espíritu de vida debajo) del cielo; todo lo que hay en la tierra morirá.

^6:18“Pero estableceré mi Pacto contigo; y entrarás en el Arca tú, tus hijos, tu esposa, y las esposas de tus hijos contigo; ^6:19y de todo lo que vive, de toda carne: dos de cada especie meterás en el Arca, para preservarles la vida contigo: macho y hembra serán. ^6:20De las aves según su especie, y de las bestias según su especie, de todo reptil de la tierra según su especie, dos de cada especie entrarán contigo para preservarles la vida. ^6:21Y toma contigo de todo alimento que se come, y almacénalo para ti; y servirá de alimento para ti y para ellos”. ^6:22Y lo hizo así Noé: hizo conforme a todo lo que Dios le mandó.

^7:5E hizo Noé conforme a todo lo que le mandó Jehová. ^7:6Y era Noé de seiscientos años cuando el Diluvio de las aguas vino sobre la tierra. ^7:7Y Noé entró en el Arca, con sus hijos, su esposa, y las esposas de sus hijos, por causa de las aguas del Diluvio.

^7:8De los animales limpios, y de los animales que no eran limpios, y de las aves, y de todo lo que se arrastra sobre la tierra, ^7:9de dos en dos entraron con Noé en el Arca; macho y hembra, como mandó Dios a Noé.

^7:10Y sucedió después de siete días que las aguas del Diluvio vinieron sobre la tierra: ^7:11el año seiscientos de la vida de Noé, en el mes segundo, a los diecisiete días del mes, aquel día fueron rotas todas las fuentes del grande abismo, y las cataratas de los cielos fueron abiertas; ^7:12y hubo lluvia sobre la tierra cuarenta días y cuarenta noches.

^7:13En este mismo día entró Noé en el Arca, y con él Sem, Cam y Jafet (hijos de Noé), la esposa de Noé, y las tres esposas de sus hijos: ^7:14ellos, y todos los animales silvestres según su especie, y todos los animales mansos según su especie, y todo reptil que se arrastra sobre la tierra según su especie, y toda ave según su especie: y todo pájaro, de toda especie. ^7:15Y entraron con Noé al Arca, de dos en dos de toda carne en que había espíritu de vida. ^7:16Y los que entraron, macho y hembra de toda carne entraron, como le había mandado Dios; y Jehová le cerró la puerta.

¶El complemento  El diluvio destruyó toda la vida en la tierra seca (7:17 - 24)

^7:17Y fue el Diluvio cuarenta días sobre la tierra; y las aguas crecieron, y alzaron el Arca, y se elevó sobre la tierra. ^7:18Y prevalecieron las aguas, y crecieron en gran manera sobre la tierra; y flotaba el Arca sobre la faz de las aguas.

^7:19Y las aguas prevalecieron mucho en extremo sobre la tierra; y todas las altas montañas que había debajo de todos los cielos, fueron cubiertas. ^7:20Quince codos más alto subieron las aguas; y fueron cubiertas las montañas.

^7:21Y murió toda carne que se mueve sobre la tierra: así de aves como de ganado, y de bestias, y de todo reptil que se arrastra sobre la tierra, y todo hombre: ^7:22todo lo que tenía aliento de espíritu de vida en sus narices, de todo lo que había en la tierra, murió. ^7:23Así fue destruido todo ser viviente de sobre la faz de la tierra, desde el hombre hasta la bestia, y los reptiles, y las aves del cielo; y fueron raídos de la tierra.

Y quedó solamente Noé, y los que con él estaban en el Arca.

^7:24Y prevalecieron las aguas sobre la tierra ciento cincuenta días.

¶Único  Dios hizo las aguas dejar caer hasta las partes superiores de las montañas de Ararat fueron vistos (8:1 - 5)

^8:1Y se acordó Dios de Noé, y de todos los animales, y de todas las bestias que estaban con él en el Arca.

E hizo pasar Dios un viento sobre la tierra, y disminuyeron las aguas. ^8:2Y se cerraron las fuentes del abismo, y las cataratas de los cielos; y la lluvia de los cielos fue detenida. ^8:3Y las aguas retornaron gradualmente de sobre la tierra; y al cabo de ciento cincuenta días, las aguas decrecieron.

^8:4Y reposó el Arca en el mes séptimo, a los diecisiete días del mes, sobre los montes de Ararat.

^8:5Y las aguas fueron decreciendo hasta el mes décimo.

En el décimo, al primer día del mes, se descubrieron las cimas de los montes.

§Único   Conclusión: Noé y su familia comenzaron una nueva vida en una Tierra completamente rehecha con un pacto de Dios (8:6 - 9:17)

¶El complemento  Noé y su familia, junto con los pájaros, las bestias y los animales, abandonaron el arca (8:6 - 22)

^8:6Y sucedió que al cabo de cuarenta días abrió Noé la ventana del Arca que había hecho; ^8:7y envió un cuervo, el cual salió, y estuvo yendo y volviendo hasta que se secaron las aguas de sobre la tierra. ^8:8Envió también de sí una paloma, para ver si las aguas se habían retirado de sobre la faz de la tierra. ^8:9Y no halló la paloma donde sentar la planta de su pie, y se volvió a él al Arca: porque las aguas estaban aún sobre la faz de toda la tierra. Entonces él extendió su mano y tomándola, la hizo entrar consigo en el Arca.

^8:10Y esperó aún otros siete días, y volvió a enviar la paloma fuera del Arca. ^8:11Y la paloma volvió a él a la hora de la tarde: y he aquí que traía una hoja de olivo tomada en su pico; y entendió Noé que las aguas se habían retirado de sobre la tierra.

^8:12Y esperó aún otros siete días, y envió la paloma, la cual no volvió ya más a él. ^8:13Y sucedió que en el año seiscientos uno de Noé, en el mes primero, al primer día del mes, se secaron las aguas de sobre la tierra. Y quitó Noé la cubierta del Arca; y miró: y he aquí que la faz de la tierra estaba seca.

^8:14Y en el mes segundo, a los veintisiete días del mes, se secó la tierra; ^8:15y habló Dios a Noé, diciendo: ^8:16“Sal del Arca tú, y tu esposa, y tus hijos, y las esposas de tus hijos contigo. ^8:17Todos los animales que están contigo de toda carne, de aves y de bestias y de todo reptil que se arrastra sobre la tierra, sacarás contigo, y vayan por la tierra, y fructifiquen, y multiplíquense sobre la tierra”.

^8:18Entonces salió Noé, y sus hijos, y su esposa, y las esposas de sus hijos con él; ^8:19todos los animales, y todo reptil y toda ave, todo lo que se mueve sobre la tierra según sus especies, salieron del Arca. ^8:20Y edificó Noé un altar a Jehová; y tomó de todo animal limpio y de toda ave limpia, y ofreció holocausto en el altar. ^8:21Y percibió Jehová perfume grato; y dijo Jehová en su corazón, “Nunca más volveré a maldecir la tierra por causa del hombre: porque el intento del corazón del hombre es malo desde su juventud; ni volveré más a destruir todo viviente, como he hecho. ^8:22Mientras la tierra permanezca, no cesarán la sementera y la siega, el frío y el calor, el verano y el invierno, y el día y la noche”.

¶El complemento  Dios estableció un pacto incondicional con Noé y sus descendientes nunca destruir la tierra con un diluvio de nuevo (9:1 - 17)

^9:1Y bendijo Dios a Noé y a sus hijos, y les dijo, “Fructificad y multiplicaos, y llenad la tierra. ^9:2Y el temor y el pavor de ustedes estarán sobre todo animal de la tierra, y sobre toda ave de los cielos, en todo lo que se mueva sobre la tierra, y en todos los peces del mar: en vuestra mano son entregados. ^9:3Todo lo que se mueve y vive, os será para mantenimiento; así como las legumbres y plantas verdes; os lo he dado todo.

^9:4“Pero carne con su vida, que es su sangre, no comeréis. ^9:5Porque ciertamente demandaré la sangre de vuestras vidas: de mano de todo animal la demandaré, y de mano del hombre; de mano del varón su hermano demandaré la vida del hombre. ^9:6El que derramare sangre del hombre, por el hombre su sangre será derramada: porque a imagen de Dios es hecho el hombre. ^9:7Pero ustedes fructificad, y multiplicaos; procread abundantemente en la tierra, y multiplicaos en ella”.

^9:8Y habló Dios a Noé y a sus hijos con él, diciendo: ^9:9“He aquí que yo establezco mi Pacto con ustedes, y con vuestra simiente después de ustedes; ^9:10y con toda alma viviente que está con ustedes, de aves, de animales, y de toda bestia de la tierra que está con ustedes; desde todos los que salieron del Arca hasta todo animal de la tierra. ^9:11Y estableceré mi Pacto con ustedes, y no será exterminada ya más toda carne con aguas de Diluvio; ni habrá más Diluvio para destruir la tierra”.

^9:12Y dijo Dios, “Ésta es la señal del Pacto que yo establezco con ustedes y con todo ser viviente que está con ustedes, por perpetuas generaciones: ^9:13mi arco pondré en las nubes, el cual será por señal del Pacto entre mí y la tierra. ^9:14Y será que cuando haré venir nubes sobre la tierra, se dejará ver entonces mi arco en las nubes. ^9:15Y me acordaré de mi Pacto, que hay entre mí y ustedes y todo ser viviente de toda carne; y no serán más las aguas por Diluvio para destruir toda carne. ^9:16Y estará el arco en las nubes, y lo veré, y me acordaré del Pacto eterno entre Dios y todo ser viviente de toda carne que hay sobre la tierra”.

^9:17Y dijo Dios a Noé, “Ésta es la señal del Pacto, que he establecido entre mí y toda carne que está sobre la tierra”.
